Debated writing this but after thinking it over I decided to write my negative towards this shop.Came in for a tire alignment. Elderly gentleman , was very professional and provided great service upfront ( I believe this was the owner but may be mistaken.) However , he was top notch. This is not directed towards him.That said , I came in for a front tire alignment. I mentioned that my front door knob was loose to a shop mechanic and just asked him to be careful because I am waiting for new ones to arrive.1. Front tire alignment still feels off , ( I got no readings from prior and afterwards ). It was done in 20 minutes and appeared to just be on a basis of shop mechanic taking it for a drive , adjusting on an estimate and being done.2. Of course the door knob was pulled off and nobody even bothered to mention it prior to payment or after. Look it happens , it was going to be replaced. So I am more upset about the fact that it was not told to me , and appeared to be simply pulled off in spite and not on accident.So to conclude I had a bad experience here , although this is particular was not the fault of the owner , but ultimately it is him who receives my negative review. The elderly gentleman was honest and upfront over the phone and in person so I will be honest and say he did his part great.

I called for estimate on new tires, was looking for Michelin tires, but Richard suggested Good Years with 60,000 mile tread warranty. Also, offered tire insurance with free tire rotations, replacement, nitrogen, and national tire service. Lucas offers great value better than Discount Tire, Costco, Dealer, and all others. The estimate and final price was 25% less with excellent warranty and tire insurance benefits. I have used Lucas three times because they always offer best price and value.

Such a great experience. They were incredibly transparent with their pricing, knowledgeable and informative about the repairs my car needed, and communicative about the status of repairs. Additionally, they really took the time to make their show room as clean as possible, seating guests 6ft apart in assigned seats and even going so far as to sanitize the bus stop in front of their shop. I would recommend Lucas tires to anyone who is looking for a thoughtful, cost friendly, neighborhood business to work with.

I was in need of some general maintenance and a friend recommended Lucas Tires, and I cant believe the wonderful service I received!! Ive been to three auto shops in Chicago for repairs and Lucas is the best. I hadnt realized how much I got ripped off at the previous shop I visited until I came here. They shoot you straight. Theyre never going to sell you on needless work. Their prices are excellent and they do great work. So far Ive had Lucas replace an axle, fix an electrical issue, replace my radiator and change my oil a couple times on my Toyota Highlander.

Ive been coming here for years and they have always been very efficient and honest. My car was having battery issues and I brought it in on a busy Sunday. They were able to fit me in and fix the problem that day. They always call to explain the issues and call back when your car is ready for pickup. Great service, reasonable prices, and friendly atmosphere!

They have top of the line gear and knowledgeable staff that knows their inventory and will shoot straight on the benefits of different priced items or the reasons why their cheaper. Great service at Lucas! Al & the team were so kind, helpful, & honest. I got a flat tire and was able to leave my car in their lot overnight. They started service on my car right when they opened. I ended up purchasing a whole new set and getting an alignment. Will definitely be back for services and will be sending referrals over.

Finding an honest mechanic is extremely difficult, but they walked me through every step of the process to make sure I was informed before I made any decisions. Called Lucas yesterday after I had a flat. They didnt have my size tire when I called. However, they did happen to get two of size in later, and they proactively called to let me know. I appreciated the extra effort and their price was at or below most of their competitors.The service that I received was timely and they kept me up to date. The two employees that I had interactions with (Rich & Gineen)were friendly and accommodating. I would definitely go back for other services.

Lucas Tires and Automotive is the BEST place for auto repairs and tires in Chicago! Great service! Ive been there several times and have always had a perfect experience. I called last week because my heater wasnt working, and they told me to bring it in right away. Within 24 hours I was driving away in a nice warm car. They called to let me know exactly what the problem was, how they planned to repair it, and what it would cost. It was ready to go on time. They really do provide the best service around!

I highly recommend them.I live in the neighborhood, but had never used Lucas before today.I called on a whim to see if they were open on a Sunday because my tire kept losing air. I was surprised they were open when others are not.They got me in right away, fixed my tire and aligned it in about an hour and a half.They were friendly, quick and the repair price was far less than I expected.Best auto repair experience I’ve had in 40+ years driving. I bought 4 new General Tires from Lucas $620.20 all included … I am amazed that my ‘06 Lincoln LS now rides as well as it does … I obviously needed new tires badly … Lucas can be a busy place so I suggest you drop off your car and ask the front counter girl to call you when your car is ready, it may take awhile. 🙂

For over a decade Lucas Tire has gone above and beyond to get me the right tires and keep all my vehicles on the road. My latest tire purchase included a tire with a manufacturer defect. It was not Lucas Tire’s fault in any way as these things happen across all tire brands, but Gineen and Rich have been very responsive and helpful in getting the issue resolved through the manufacturer with very little to do on my end. They make you feel like family and I could not have asked for better customer service.

Its a family owned business which means they have more flexibility on their prices and deals they can offer.I usually work with Gineen, shell treat you like part of the family if you hang around there enough! Shes found me some great deals on new wheel sets for two of my vehicles and makes sure my vehicle is worked on as soon as possible.Their inspections are super thorough and theyll take you in the back to see what they see. I was extremely pleased with the service from Lucas Tire & Autocare! Gineen and her team there were phenomenal and very helpful. They know what they are talking about!!! Before coming here, I almost spent close to $200 to replace one tire at the dealership. Instead I came here and was personally shown what was wrong with my tires. I had a much more affordable experience buying all brand new tires and they were way better quality too. I trust this place and will come back for future services!

I stopped by to get my tire patched. The guy said its been damaged too much and I need to change the tire and the other one. I visited other shop today and today and the tires were in good condition. They charged $20 for just to see the the tire and if I were to patch, it would be $40. I did my patch, tire balance, and installation for $27. Such a scam.

If you want to be swindled not better place than this.they install in my truck a very cheap chinese tires(advanta) not good at all .the owners smoke inside the building all over the place .stinks. Terrible customer service

I have been coming to Lucas Tire on/off since I moved to Chicago in 2014. I recommend speaking to Gineen, she will take good care of you. She is very knowledgeable! Lucas Tires has decent tire prices and I always end up coming back to see them when I need new tires. Ive also had general maintenance, my battery replaced, radiator, coolant reservoir, and sway bar replacements. Ive always been satisfied and they have never let me down. As long as Im in Chicago, I will continue to visit to Lucas Tire!

What a wonderful car shop!! I’ve been to a few other car shops in Roscoe village and this one is so friendly and honest. Jeneen and all the employees are great at what they do. And I have to say as a woman this place was the most welcoming and was not unfriendly and just regarding to me like the other shops. Also their price was $650 less then the other shop on Damen and Belmont. They are so mean there!

Gineen is a gem. She went out of her way to wipe down chairs and set up sections for customers waiting for their cars; she showed a genuine concern to follow COVID safety precautions. She was straightforward with pricing and services. The shop was busy when I went on a Saturday and she busted her butt to provide prompt service to everyone in the waiting area. Very fair pricing for an oil change and new battery. This is my second visit to the shop. I prefer to spend my money locally and will continue to come back to Lucas.

This is a really great place, to say the least... Yesterday I needed a wheel alignment and absolutely needed it as I changed a track bar on my old school Jeep at my trusty mechanic yesterday as well, I called them like 35 minutes before they were about to close and the owner told me if you can hurry up and get here well take care of ya. So I did just that and made it on time and they serviced me and Im so thankful man. They did a really great job and for a $90 alignment it really doesnt get much cheaper. Point is I needed done and they did it. The owner even looked up some original sized tires for me because Im tryna keep my old-school old-school lol and gave me a really great price on em and he was happy to do so which I really appreciated as well. Awesome customer service and would definitely give it 5 outta 5 stars and would definitely go back... Go here man trust meee

I have used this shop exclusively since moving to Chicago and I dont plan on that changing. Lucas Tire & Autocare is an excellent choice for anyone who likes shops to be patient, informative and transparent about charges.

I found a screw in my front passenger tire and saw this place close by my home. I brought my car in and the guy at the front desk had me fill out some form for a rewards program. Didn’t ask if I wanted to sign up, but not a big deal. Told me it would be about an hour to fix my tire. A few hours later a technician called to tell me I had a nail in my tire (thanks for the update), it could not be repaired because it was too close to the side wall, and because “it’s an Audi which is front wheel drive I need to buy in pairs.” I told him I had already seen the “screw” that’s why I brought it in the first place. I am aware because this is an “all wheel” drive car that you need to replace tires in pairs but I disagreed that the tire could not be repaired. I let him know I would simply pick the car up, and he let me know it would be $20 service fee. So they charged me $20 to tell me what I told them-thanksWhen I picked up the car the technician laughed when I told him which car I was there to pick up, continued a conversation with another employee, and then casually recommended that I actually needed 4 new tires. I let him know I drive 3k miles a year. Then he said oh ok.I would recommend starting with greeting customers when they walk in, listening to what they tell you, making well informed recommendations through out the process and not making assumptions. The whole process was untrustworthy and lacking in customer service.I will take my car to a place I trust but is a lot further away.Update: I went to Auto Zone and plugged the whole myself for $15 and it’s still fine, 10 months later. Had I listened to the tech here it would have cost $1000.00 for 4 new tires.

I have been going to Lucas Tire for over twenty years. I used to go partly because they are a quality, honest shop and partly because they were walking distance from my home. I moved to Skokie over a decade ago, though, and have not found a shop whose service begins to compare, so whenever my car needs attention I drive all the way into the city for it. Its not exactly convenient, but it is worth it to be able to use mechanics I can trust.

Reasonable price! I got a discount for using cash. I had a flat tire and I was out of there within 2 hrs which I thought was pretty good for not having an appointment.

My wife introduced me to Lucas Tire when we got married, and they are great! At first I thought she was being ridiculous to drive all the way into the city for car service, but none of the other places I tried were nearly as good quality - and they all cost more, too! Lucas Tire is efficient, professional, and honest; totally worth the drive!

Lucas tire was amazing... I had to run in with a sewer cover during Street Construction with a Volvo v70. It flattened one tire and bent the rim of another. I took the car to Rich Lucas and he found two new BFG tires that were perfect, they were priced less than five other comparable stores that I checked, they installed the tires perfectly, and then proceeded to do a complete four-wheel alignment and the car has never felt so good. Im taking her back for more work in the future!!!

I was in a jam after getting a flat and had my car towed to Lucas Tire. I was able to get all 4 tires replaced within a few hours and they were flexible with pick up (staying after hours to let me get my car)! Great service, would definitely come back!

I went yesterday to do a alignement and they said a hour it took 30 minutes no test drive so i went today beacuse the car was still pulling and the owner went on a test drive with me to understand the issue we then got back to the shop and she got started she deeply apoligized to me for haveing to come back but it turns out i needed a camber kit installed she explained why it took roughly 2 hours then on the final test drive it was great i thamked them they went out of their way to make the service correct and thats the way it should be good shop great price ill be back and I think you guys should check them out .

I went to Lucas auto to have my new tires installed on my wheels. When it was time to transition between my summer and winter wheel setup (today, October 27th) I had found that they over torqued my wheels to a point where I snapped two sockets in an attempt to remove the wheel. I called Lucas tires and explained the issue and was told that they use a torque wrench when they install the tires. Even if they use a torque wrench, you still need to know the appropriate torque to to tighten to.The wheels for my car are to torqued to 90ft lbs and usually doesn’t require me to use a breaker bar. I not only needed a breaker bar to remove ALL previous bolts but couldn’t even budge the rear passenger wheel.The man I spoke on the phone with as Lucas tires (I was upset so I didn’t bother getting his name) told me they were too busy today to fix the problem they caused and that I would need to set up an appointment. I would not even need to go to a shop to perform such a simple task let alone have to pay to resolve an issue that was caused by that exact shop!! Incredibly disappointed.I don’t know how they perform for the rest of their auto services but I am no longer willing to gamble when a simple tire change wasn’t satisfactory. I can’t imagine trusting them with more elaborate work.

I had a great experience at least 2 separate times at Lucas. Jeanine is really funny on top of taking good care of me. I had a flat that wasnt repairable, as it would have been dangerous. I was a bit skeptical, but when I challenged that this might be a price gauge, they truly would not repair the tire. I was then offered new tires. They would have sold me the most expensive or the least. Jeannine asked how long I was going to hold on to my car. Since I replied not long, she supported buying less expensive by good tires. Lucas took in my car late at night, and fiinished after hours. Jeanine called me to say my car was ready early, and that she would come back to the store after hours if I wanted to pick up that evening. I didnt but appreciated that offer of customer service.Both times I needed service, the team was helpful in finding vendor coupons or rebates that could be applied. Jeanine actually filled out the required paperwork for a manufacturer rebate, and gave me an envelope WITH HER STAMP for me to be able to send to the manufacture.Great service and good value.

I have now been to lucas tires twice in less then a month.....they have been nothing but helpful and provide great service at a reasonable price. I was leaving for a brief trip on christmas eve afternoon and my tire light came on. I called and they told me to come right in and they would take care of my issue even though they were closing early for the holiday and to their word they handled the issue no problem.....I cant say enough wonderful things about this business. I love that it is family owned and they treat their customers like family! I hope i have no more tire pressure issues or a nail in my tire but if I do need assistance I know where to go....

Horrible place, horrible service. They charged me 50$ for Inspección despite on their prices list said 40$. I complained about it and they insisted that those price were old 🤦‍♂️Furthermore, I knew the issues on my vehicle (I told them before they made the inspección), do I just wanted to know how much it would have been, they insisted to inspects, they couldn’t even fix it the issue and they still charged me 50$!!Don’t waste your time with this usurers!

I was on a trip here from Nashville and it was Memorial Day weekend. I could not find another place to take me, and they took me and stood overtime to help me. Came in to get a tire replaced. Janine was super helpful and told me exactly what I needed. Ended up replacing two tires and getting my spare repatched at a beyond fair price. Not only was Janine great but the team of mechanics were also. All in all a painless experience and I will be returning to Lucas Tire.

I stopped by because of their new tire deal and of course, the tires were more expensive than advertised. They also told me I needed new lugnuts on all four tires - which I paid $150 for in addition to the tires. Then I proceeded to lose all 4 hub caps over the next couple weeks because the lugnuts they gave me weren’t the right kind for my tire, and I ended up having to rebuy everything at my dealership. My dealership said no wonder I was losing hub caps left and right. Would not recommend.

I’m very new to the neighborhood like 2 days new and I caught a flat tire. I didn’t know what to do I had just moved and spent most of my money the day before on towing it because of the flat tire. Janine (if I spelt it correct) was outstanding! She made sure to go over all my options just to customize to my budget and it truly worked out! My lugg nuts was stripped from the towing company the day before and she got them off gave me options on getting new ones. She’s so on top of everything! I’m beyond grateful and happy I came here! I received a coupon in an email for a free oil change for my bday month, so I popped in on Saturday and they said they were too busy and to come back tomorrow when they open at 10am. I came back at 10:15 and mysteriously said they were full for the day and couldn’t do an oil change?? Sounds like a scam to me. I am now at pep boys. I wish I wouldn’t have wasted 2 days with these people.

EMERGENCY!I was losing air in my tire suddenly. Went to fill it and found a nail lodged into the thread!I knew I was only about 5,000 miles from new tires, too.I went to Lucas & Tire and Auto on an incredibly snowing evening around 4:30pm.By 6:30, I had two fresh tires at a unbelievable price and some fresh wipers to take on the 5” of snow predicted that evening.Very happy with the service of our local biz!

Front tires were worn out. Needed a spot that could accommodate my unstable schedule and not steal from me. I found all that and more with Lucas tires. Gineen was so amazing. Terrible, beyond unprofessional experience. Had them change two tires. First man at front desk was great! Then shift change occurred and the new woman tried to trick me that one of my 3 week old tires was showing uneven wear and tried to sell me an alignment. I asked to borrow a tread depth gauge to check (uneven wear can be objectively measured) and she refused saying she cant help me if I dont trust her and her eyes are better than a gauge. When I left, the actual mechanic said Yeah bro you do NOT need an alignment.That should be enough to convince you, but it got even worse. She randomly added about $20 or $40 (hard to tell based on circumstances) to my quoted price right before check out (she did give me some cash after I came back in to complain). She refused to give me the real itemized receipt or a copy of it. She tried to get me to sign a credit card receipt for $240. She told me Dont come back here. Ever. You are one of the most difficult people ever. She got mad when I tried to talk with the mechanic directly. She tried to scare me by saying safety was threatened by having different tires on the front axle than rear axle. Lobby smells like smoke. She was giving some real negative grief to another customer getting AC work done.Other responses to reviews are LYING! They have NOT gotten rid of this terrible front desk person.Also I agree with another review that most of their 5 star reviews are bogus reviews from fake people with only 1 review.

This place always treats me right. Their tires are cheaper and reasonably priced and the people that work here look out for, making sure you arent getting work done just because someone told you to. They are fair and honest and Id recommend taking any car here!

Wow! This place is amazing. I hit a curb New Years Eve late afternoon. Mr Lucas, agreed to stay open late and his staff is amazing. Jeanie is the absolute best. Most people for sure complain when their boss ask them to stay late in a holiday but she jumped right in to assist me. Not only that I did research on their prices are competitive, if not lower in some instances.I’m very thankful.

Good quality jobs, they have the better price on tires and service, I know about this place when I was looking for tires at Costco and I ask to an associate about good tires and good price and the Costco tire technician give me the Lucas tire address... Now Im custumer of them, and the best part is the payment options: CASH or card, I suggest use cash!!!

Janine was awesome, no BS, get it done and saved me and another customer $$ while we waited. 4 new Continental tires, In and out in under and hour!! Lucas also had best selection of tires in the area, including the Continental tires I was looking for! Will definitely be back for next tire change! Thanks!

I was taken care of so well here! I had a huge brake job done and they went above and beyond to make sure my car was taken care of. They even worked with me on the price and gave me a great deal!! I highly recommend this place and I will be back.

I came in the day before because my tire needed air and the guys were very nice. He answered my questions and put me air in my tire without any fuss. The next I returned to get the tire repaired and the service was quick and easy. The waiting area is well lit and comfortable and they stay open late. I would return again.
