We’ve been taking our cars here for years and never once had a problem. They are fair, straightforward, and will do anything in their power to get you back on the road. Carlos is the hardest working and most personable mechanic you’re likely to meet. Can’t say enough good things about this place.

The people at Howard Auto Service are awesome. I brought my car into their shop numerous times and Carlos has always been able to help. Even if they are busy, Carlos will get back to me when he can and give me an honest quote for whatever I needed done. I wont go anywhere else.

I wanted to wait to see how my rode/drove before jumping in with an opinion. But car riding well although all I had done was an oil change, air filters & belt. Not a bad price. The warranty has expired on my car and this is my backup place. The dealership can cut into your bank account! But anyway, I used them with my last car. The guy that provided me service in the past is no longer there, and theres a new owner (son). However, I received the same customer service as if he known me for awhile. Will be using them again.

Waited in the office for about twenty minutes, nobody came out to see what I needed. No one was answering the phones. I have about $1500 in repairs and tune ups to take care of and these guys came recommended.When someone finally did come out, he just said they’re very busy and couldn’t do anything on any other cars. Didn’t even ask what I needed.Guess I’ll give my money to a shop who actually cares?

Been taking ole Betsy to Howard Auto Service for 9 years now. I don’t believe in having a car payment, so I’m in a ten year old Mercury Sable. Yeah, it nickel and dimes me at times, but I’m retired at 55, and that comes from a life of not using credit cards or having car payments. The guys at Howard Auto are awesome. The mgr is a guy named Carlos, and he really truly goes out of his way to be helpful and straight up. I give Howard Auto Service 5 stars, but I give the manager, Carlos, 10 stars. He’s what customer service is all about.

By far the best mechanic shop Ive had the privilege of visiting. George is absolutely the best.Ive been coming here for about 10 years now, and its the only place Ill go (even though I dont live or work anywhere near here). Ive always been happy with the work theyve done, but the thing I appreciate the most is I know I can trust them to let me know when I need to get something done vs. when its safe to go a different route to save a few bucks. They also get work done very quickly, and will go the extra mile to make things convenient (example: I brought my car in to get the exhaust fixed, and afterwards George went and got my emissions test done for me! Like I said, these guys are the best).They play the long game with customers - they treat people well, never try to get them to spend a dollar more than they need to, and as such Im one of many who come here time and time again for years. I actually only came here the first time because my best friends mom had been bringing her cars to him since we were little kids - and when the time comes Ill encourage my kids to do the same.

They will answer all of your questions and give you honest answers that also take into account your lifestyle and transportation needs. They will be upfront about the cost of parts, labor, and a schedule for drop-off and pick-up, or same-day service. They are very busy due to their great customer service, so I always found it best to call them and schedule the service. George is extremely professional, honest, and can sometime recall the history of my vehicle and potential upcoming needs off the top of his head. Gary is very personable, and has a wide knowledge about many types of vehicles. Its very important to find a place that will not cause more problems or purposefully damage something just to keep you coming back. I trust Howard Auto Service to fix what I ask and do so with the best skill and parts possible.

I had my tires delivered from Tire Rack before previously asking if they could put them on. I have specifically asked about balancing and alignment. When the tires were put on, right away I had noticed my tire valve plastic covers were mismatched so I asked about it and the owner went looking for my original ones. Also, I checked tire pressure and my front left tire came below a couple of pounds. I am a professional driver, I do my own maintenance and I know how things should be taken care of. Right from the start there was a lack of professionalism. I did not say nothing about the pressure, I took out my own tire pomp and finished the job. Now, at that point they told me they can’t do the alignment for whatever reason. I had planned a long road trip and it was December. The car drove OK in the city, but when I went on speeds over 60, the car was shaking. I knew right away the balancing was off. I called the shop to make an appointment few weeks later to have them check it out. When I arrived in the morning, they had no time for me. “Come back around 4 PM”. I went to Just Tires shop next door. The balancing weights were missing on 3 tires??!!?? I went back to Howard Auto to let them know what I think about the whole deal. Right away- it was my fault; the weights must have fallen off. YEA. All three of them. If they were not properly installed. Or if they were installed at all. Never had this happen in my 30 year of driving. Either way, they did not want to acknowledge the problem, nor fix it.Do research. Be conscious.

These guys are fast, reliable, and have a solid reputation for a good reason. My car did not pass emissions due to several codes being triggered in my CPU. Howard Auto knew that I needed my vehicle in a timely manner and offered to have the issue resolved within two days. They had a slew of other vehicles they were working on, yet they managed to get my car repaired the very next day.I highly recommend Howard Auto for all of your car care needs.

George was very rude and not honest. Went for emission related codes. Wanted to charge me $150 just to provide me an estimate of how much it would cost to fix the car. This is against the law that he has a pic off next to his door. I will file a complaint to consumer affairs.

I have brought 2 cars here now for various reasons and I still cant complain about the service they provide. They are always straightforward, honest, and charge a fair price for their work. My only complaint is that their location and times arent as convenient for me, but that is a minor trade-off for having a mechanic I can trust.

Ive gone to Howard Auto now for two years. Theyve done a number of repairs on my car, now 12 years old. Theyve replaced a wheel bearing, ball joint, sway bar, alternator, rear brakes, alternator belt, and radiator. They also fixed a pesky emissions issue. Given the age and condition of my car, I know it will need regular repairs. It seems that every three months or so, I give Howard Auto a call.Its great to have a trusted auto shop in the neighborhood. Theyre right down the street from where I live. Gary and George are good guys. They do good work, their prices are competitive, and theyre more than fair. Theyre conservative in their recommendations. I never leave wondering if they did more work than was really necessary.Their first repair was a front wheel bearing in early 2013. I went to several shops for an estimate on this repair. I was in the market for a good, trustworthy mechanic. Another shop in the area took a quick drive and recommended replacing both front bearings and both CV axles. Howard Auto replaced the one bearing. For two years now, I havent had an issue with the bearings or axles. As you can imagine, this experience spoke volumes.If you need a good mechanic you can trust, give them a call. Im glad I did.

I wanted to leave a better review, but I cant. Good points: close to home, they took my car in quickly, and called me right away to tell me what the problem was.Bad points: My ABS light was on, and when they called me, they told me my whole ABS module needed to be replaced in addition to one ABS sensor. Total: $1750. I took my car for a second opinion. The other mechanic I went to fixed my car for a total $580 (which included another problem I had... which was $150 itself). They tried to sell me a $1200 repair that I didnt need. Very disappointed.

My mother had work done here many years ago and suggested them to me for work i needed. The associate was very friendly but the owner flat out lied to me about giving me a quote. He told me no one would do the work I asked for if i bought all the parts, just labor to pay for. I got two quotes from other auto stores before walking into that place. when I told him that he just shook his head. No answer just refused service. He was shifty and would not make eye contact with me, it was uncomfortable to be honest. Glad I spent my money else where.
