A disappointing experience. I took an old (functioning) iMac in along with a new Mac book Air for data transfer. 11 days later I retrieved both, with no (Z-E-R-O) work done. At day seven I was told by a manager-ish gentleman that tech support had been ill, apparently all week, but he said they should have called to explain the delay. They did not. The manager-ish gentleman said he would call today (day 11) with the updated delivery date. He did not. And that was that. I know at least one happy Simply Mac customer, and their services may work better for others than for me, but I expected more.

Untruthful and eager t sell and not help. I brought a Macboock Pro in with a swollen battery at Apples suggestion. They said it would cost 80 bucks to have it evaluated but the computer was toast after they had taken it back to the service people. They encouraged me to by a new Mac and an extended warranty. Absolutely no help and dismissive. I had heard this about this store and now I have experienced it. Took my computer to an independent and reported them to Apple.. Fixed now and OK. In my case it was a simple fix. I would have fallen for it had it not been for the way I was treated

I was a walk-in customer on a Sunday, just after opening. As usual, the help was on point, and they had the accessory I needed. After paying, the employee showed me how to use it, and we checked to see that everything was compatible.All computer stores are busy, and we can always expect some sort of wait. I have found that Simply Mac keeps the customer wait to a minimum. The one thing you can be sure to find is an answer to your problem or question. These guys (and gals!) really know the Apple products inside and out.

Horrible service. The iPad iOS 15 upgrade bricked my iPad. Simply Mac charged me 30 bucks to restore my iPad to factory default. An apple store would never charge for something like this that is caused by a software update.

Its a busy place and its easy to see why: Everett, Ryan, Blake, and Nicole in service get the job done. This group is conscientious, knowledgeable, and kind; they really go above and beyond. Whatever you do, do not pay for a special configuration for a new iMAC. I ordered the new iMAC 24 inch, with a special configuration` on May 4. I paid for the order in full. Unfortunately, Simply Mac does not inform you as to how long it would take to receive the unit from Apple. In addition, their arrangement with Apple does not include periodic updates on the order. It has now been 5 weeks since I ordered the product and have yet to receive it or even an update as to when to expect shipment. If I had known the order would take more than 5 weeks to be shipped, I would have never ordered from Simply Mac. They need to do better job of informing customers of the length of time for your order to be fulfilled. This is disgusting. Do not use this vendor to order Apple products. Unless you plan to wait forever.

My cell phone screen got broken. My Sprint Rep advised me to go to Simply Mac for faster replacement, I got there around 11:00am on 5/8/21. They were able to help me right away and the screen was replaced in less time than they estimated. The Staff was most curtious and helpful. I would go back there and recommend them if you have Apple products or considering purchasing. Thanks for helping me with my delimmer!

Not a real Mac store, thought they initially claimed they can provide same service. Made an appointment asking for a MacBook Pro problem fix under AppleCare. When I came back to the appointment, they wanted to charge $80 after looking at the problem for 1 min (why not spend that time when I came in to make the appointment- which took 5+min). Untruthful as previous comments indicated. Just be honest upfront about your business model, and don’t try tricking your customers.

Took my new iMac in for a diagnosis. A lightning strike had fried the ethernet port in my power supply. A friendly young man started helping me, but then this older dude with a bald head came out from the back brandishing an I know better than everyone attitude. Lets call him MIKE - Mr. I Know Everything.MIKE took over my case & went on for a while splaining to me about malware. He said it was malware causing the problem, and its not fixable without wiping all my data and starting over with a new system. Which he offered to do. I declined. An hour later, MIKE ends up diagnosing a faulty power supply just like I suspected.But thats not even the worst. MIKE ordered a new power supply from Apple & asked me to turn in my old power supply when I returned to pick it up. My husband ran this errand for me since he was in town that day. MIKE handled the swap but failed to make sure we got both parts back. I have the part that plugs into the Mac but not the part that plugs into the power. Now I have to wait until they open and make a third long round trip (we live 45 minutes out) so that I can get what I need to start my computer and go to work today.This is super frustrating. Do better, guys. Especially you, MIKE from Florida. Get over yourself.

The store manager Everett took time out from multiple tasks to inquire if I was being helped and at the end of my visit to inquire about the outcome. Excellent service. I needed to print documents from an app on my iPhone through my Windows 10 laptop and printer combo. The laptop suddenly refused to run or install any Apple to Microsoft bridge software, so down to Simply Mac I scurried seeking salvation. The gentleman who greeted me as I entered looked and sounded familiar, but I soon realized we had never met before. My mind had just conflated the character traits of four other men of my acquittance (Robert Guillaume, Lawrence Fishburne, Tim Reid and Michael Clarke Duncan) and imposed them upon this man.Almost needless to say, he rapidly assessed the obstacles involved (which now included a power less laptop, the result of leaving the power cord at the office) developed a workabout that got the files on the pc in the proper format. Everett sacrificed at least an hour on my behalf. During that time I noticed that the rest of his disciples seemed to be imbued with similar attitudes at respecting customers at least as well as they treated their equipment

I took my MacBook Pro to Simply Mac for a cracked screen. I was greeting by a very friendly manager who directed me to their technician. The technician, Jason, was very helpful and knowledgeable. They repaired my laptop like new. The only negative I would say is that I called several times to see if my laptop was back in to pick up. I was told no, next week when actually it was sitting in the back and no one knew it was there. I went in personally to check and the tech found it for me.They do great work and pricing are very reasonable. I recommend them.

I am so happy that I was able to find this store! The rep that helped us, Nicole, was truly amazing! We were able to have my daughters phone replaced in record time and she helped us by restoring all settings and stayed with us until all of the new phone features were operational. My daughter brought her IPhone in last week to have the camera repaired. It took a number of trips in before this could be repaired and the Tech guys were very helpful, informative and gave her a small refund for having to wait so long to have this fixed (it took 2 tries). All was great as we left the store. In the evening, while she was working on her phone, she noted a bunch of scratches on the cover glass.. She takes incredible care of her phone and always, always has a cover on, so this was and has been very upsetting to her. She took a phone needing repair to the BACK of the phone in and ended up with a scratched FRONT of the phone. Not good, Simply MAC. Of course, you cant talk to anyone about this without going in and waiting.

I brought my laptop in in early August because I was having issues getting it to turn on. I explained to the person at the repair desk that I’m a college student so I had a limited time frame to get it repaired before classes start. He said that would be fine and I would get a diagnosis back on it within 2-3 days. A week passed and I hadn’t heard anything back and my ticket had not been updated online. I sent an email and never got a response back. I tried calling, the line rang and after about 15 minutes I gave up. The recording said to press “1” to leave a message but when pressed I was disconnected from the line. Finally I decided to just show up at the store since no one bothered to email me back or pick up the phone. I explained the situation to the manager and his response was “well they shouldn’t have told you it would be 2-3 days”. I’m giving 2 starts because they gave me my money back without issue. However, I would not recommend bringing your device here.

I was well pleased with the service and education at Simply Mac in Charlottesville VA. I had decided to switch to an Apple laptop after my old laptop became unusable. I was sold on the Mac products after switching to the iPhone and iPad a year earlier. The salesperson demonstrated the true benefits of being able to tie all three together and he was so right. It was a seamless upgrade and I have been using it much more than I ever did with my other laptops. It was a great shopping experience at Simply Mac!

Ive tried to call the service line multiple times (on multiple days), and they never pick up. All I need is a routine battery replacement in my MacBook Pro. I finally went in person to ask about their pricing and how long it might take. The person I talked to said around $300- $400 dollars (!?!?!?!?). He also said it would take 3-5 days, and I need an appointment. Either this guy has no idea what hes talking about or this place is an inefficient complete ripoff. Apple quoted me $129.

They Waited until my warranty expired to notify me that they couldn’t fix it, and needed to send it to Apple. They wouldn’t get Apple to cover it under warranty. So I’m out around $200.Unless you’re going to check in on them every day to make sure they’re not running out the clock, I wouldn’t take it here. Just mail it to Apple instead.

Jennings worked on my 2009 Mac Pro to replace original dual 4 core 2.26 GHz with dual 6 core 3.33 GHz (which I bought from a third party) and to re-secure IOH heat sink which was missing a fastener. He got the job done very quickly for minimum labor charge.(Note: I knew in advanced that the store couldn’t order replacement spring rivet fasteners, so I also provided those and a recommended thermal compound vs. what the store or Apple could provide.)

I went here for a cracked screen on my XR. It took 2hrs, which I expected. Im very pleased with my new screen. Im grateful for their same day service, as I dont have a temporary phone. The older male in the lobby was very welcoming and helpful explaining products and services to me. The younger male tech was also very welcoming. Store prices are typical, Apple products are never cheap but worth every dollar. Would definitely recommend keeping AppleCare up to date on your phone bcuz you save money on repairs. Would definitely recommend Simply Mac services.

This is a TERRIBLE place. I was waiting over 40 minutes when I had to asked if somebody could help me. They decided then to tell me that I needed to sign up! They guy wouldn’t even look at me while I was waiting. They left me waiting again with no customers in the store!! The counter guy was condescending, and arrogant. The manager didn’t do anything. I had to ask a different store clerk to help me and there wasn’t anybody in the store!! Unbelievable!!

Had times Apple Care available, quiet relaxed store, everyone was nice, most were knowledgeable. I arrived 20 minutes early, yet had to wait until the time. Don’t think someone was ahead of me. They have a limited selection of Apple products. Replacing my iPhone screen was much quicker than the two Apple Stores I’ve visited. A key, they had the part that I set the appointment up to install, different from Apple Stores. Will come back.

ZERO STARS. Its not often I go to a store as poorly run as simply mac. I came on my hour lunch break to do something I called ahead to prepare for and shouldnt have taken more than ten minutes. While other clients were prioritized over me (one of the techs helped two walk-in customer purchase items rather than service the clients who had signed up and were waiting for an appointment) my simple request required me to sign in and wait for a tech person for forty-five minutes. Then when it was finally my turn to be helped, the tech helper disappeared into the back with my phone and I was forced to ask another employee where he went after another 15 minutes. She informed me he had to take another call DURING MY APPOINTMENT. Terrible customer service. I will DEFINITELY be driving to Richmond next time. Worth the gas prices to not deal with the most inattentive staff. Worst of all, the manager stood around the entire time HELPING NO ONE.

At Simply Mac they greeted me and offered to help as soon as I entered. The store was easy to find in this very upscale shopping center.My iPhone had crashed the night before and the local phone store directed me to Simply Mac as the nearest place that could restore my phone.The service agent quickly diagnosed the phone’s problem and began resetting my phone’s software. I was finished in a half hour, with my phone like new.They are pleasant, know what they are doing and charge a reasonable fee. I’d strongly recommend Simply Mac to my friends needing Apple help or looking for any of a wide range of Apple products and accessories.Try calling first to get an appointment to get repair help. They are busy but can help you between appointments at times.

Everything went smoothly up until the scheduling of our second appointment. Someone from the store called and said our glass for the screen repair was ready and that we can come in at about 5 the following Friday. We live two hours away so about an hour into our drive we called to make sure our appointment was still on for five. The problem came when they said they did not have anything on file from where we scheduled our appointment and one of the workers said he doesn’t know who would’ve told us to come in at that time. The person we were talking to was obviously very confused and when we got there they said “oh so that’s why that glass is back there, you’re getting a screen repair” He was talking about the glass we ordered at our previous appointment. That part was a little frustrating but besides that everything went super smoothly and I was very satisfied with my results!

When my 15” 2011 MacBook Pro decided it was done with this world 1 week after I had my first baby, in a time when I really needed information and photos off of my computer, Simply Mac was able to get me in for an appointment quickly, accurately diagnose the problem, and though they were not able to repair the computer, they were able to set me up with a new one right away, perform a complete direct data transfer from my old computer to the new one at a heavily discounted price, given their understanding of our situation at home, and get my new computer back to me within 24 hours. I did have a little issue connecting to the internet at first, for which I had to bring the computer back to them, and even though the techs were slammed, Nicole, the tech who had performed all of our services, was able to fix the problem within 2 hours free of charge. They were so caring and understanding of our needs and made accommodations, which was exactly what this new momma needed. Thank you, Simply Mac, and a huge thank you to Nicole! You were amazing.

We had a issue with my husbands phone not being covered under the warranty we had with Apple (not simply mac’s fault at all) so it ended up taking awhile to resolve the issue. BUT my husband and I didn’t have to make any annoying phone calls and deal with people because simply mac did it for us and got it done as fast as they could. In the end, simply mac had the issues resolved and instead of the original repair price of $99 they got the fee waived all together!!! Great service! 5 stars. :)

I put a review on Yelp, adding one here as well. Boils down to customer service. First experience was amazing!. Met with two great guys, very helpful. I dont know a thing about Apple, my daughters computer. Something happened that I could not fix. They helped me through the process, installed new upgrades and even tracked down what caused the problem in the first place. They actually called me at home that evening to update me - awesome! The next day was like Mr. Hyde. I went in, signed in and then met the tech when I was called. Personality of a pet rock, condescending, totally not helpful at all. I asked him to help me set up the email, he did not have time for that. I sat down and and tried to do it myself and listened to this guys conversation with the next two folks in line, same thing, I was amazed. If this guy worked for me I would either fire him or keep him in the back room away from customers. So, if you walk in and have to talk with a guy whos name starts with an H and ends with a R, turn around and come back later...total tool. My guess is that the majority of the negative comments are because people had to deal with this troll.

Simply Mac is Simply Terrible.A few weeks ago, my laptop fell off of a ledge and wouldnt turn on. I was pretty sure that the battery popped out -- just needed someone to open it up and take a look. I walked into an empty Simply Mac holding my laptop, clearly needing diagnostic help. There were five or six staff members standing around and NO customers. They literally refused to acknowledge my presence until I leaned over the repair counter. Without eye contact, an employee informed me that he couldnt take a look without an appointment. I could make an appointment and be seen in two weeks. (Another repair store in Charlottesville opened up my laptop right away and popped the battery into place. It only took a couple of minutes and my computer is working great!)Its worth talking about their stock products, too. They sell headphones, cases, and other accessories for Apple products. Everything has a ridiculous markup – with no exception, youre better off ordering from Amazon. The only thing keeping this place in business is consumer ignorance.

I had a problem with an item purchased here, was not pleased and was close to never returning when the store manager, Bret, reached out, listened and took care of the problem. Went in for a new phone battery. They broke the phone and “replaced” it without consent... with a broken phone... that could not be activated. Told us it was our problem. This is the worst experience we’ve ever had with customer service. If you have to drive to Richmond you’re better off.

I needed to replace my 2013 MacBook Air battery and so I called them and discussed price ($170) and then set up an appointment. I came in and talked with the fun tech and she was able to get it done in less than an hour!! I had backed up my computer as a precaution but it wasn’t necessary because when I turned it on it worked perfectly, brand new battery in place! Such quick and efficient serviceOnly con: Whenever I had tried calling before (over 8 times) I was never able to reach someone so I eventually just left a voicemail and got a call back later that day. I briefly came to this location to take a look around and too have a tech look at my phone. I have been having issues with my charging port on my iPhone. The tech looked at my phone and simply said “$20 and I can clean it out.” I said no thank you, I will go home and use a can of air to remove any thing In the port. He then said “were better at it”. I would highly suggest you avoiding this place. Just take the trip to Richmond to visit an actual apple store. You will be glad you did. This store does not value the customer it feels like. They definitely do not live the Apple values. The employee (I only talked to one person) seemed like he had better things to do and did not want to waste his time with me.

Whenever I am at this store I always feel welcomed. What prompted my review this visit was how astoundingly Ryan greeted me.For repairs they have always been forth right with information and always kept me in the loop. I get the same level of professionalism buying a cable as I did getting my MacBook looked at and repaired. Id recommend both the service and the sale side at this store. 😃

I went to Simply Mac to purchase a laptop. There were 3 associates and one other customer. I was not greeted nor offered assistance. After 17 minutes I approached an associate and asked for his assistance. He said he would be over there in a minute. After another 12 minutes and no help or acknowledgement, I left the location, went to a competitor, and purchased my new iMac. Sad!

I happily recommend taking any of your Apple products to Simply Mac. The team is knowledgeable and ready to assist. The long wait in Richmond can be avoided by shopping local, I do recommend calling ahead for appointment.

Horrible, pushy and deceitful! Went in for a repair knowing I’m taking online classes and needing it quickly I was assured it was to be rushed, two weeks later I get a call saying it has been completed, gee thanks for the swift repair.... I get it back only for it to be messing up in other ways than the one I came for to be repaired! My computer friend thinks it had been dropped. When I picked it up the gentleman pretended to drop the computer and say the tech almost had a heart attack over my computer. Gee hint hint. When I take it to be repaired for the second time they assure me it would be done swiftly and that they would send it to Apple. Ok cool I’m ok with that. I am then told I need to purchase an external hard drive to back my stuff up. Yeah that is fine too but why am I paying an additional $100 for them to back up a computer they improperly fixed? Apple then repaired the exact thing they claimed to have repaired and taken two weeks to do so! I suggest just going to richmond bc they have bad customer service and don’t do their jobs well. I had also been charged to flash a tablet to factory reset to find I still can’t use it and they wouldn’t assist anymore without further charge and told me to call Apple who said they could’ve done what they did for free over the phone! I complained to Apple and the manager lied to them about what happened and refused to fix the issue.

I was dealing with Apple customer support on the phone and by following their advise my iPhone ended up completely disabled. I couldnt even get it to turn on. I went to this local Simple Mac in a little bit of a panic and without an appointment. The technician was able to fit me in and got me working again. When they didnt have a quick answer on an issue they stayed with it until they figured it out.Now for negatives. When I first came in and dealt with the non-technician I was told I would need an appointment before they would help me. I have stopped in another time (for a battery issue) and was told an appointment could take a week.

This was a wonderful experience. My iPad was repaired in one day. We don’t have an Apple store nearby and I was nervous because I needed it for my job by Friday. They called me one day later. The people are professional and kind. I couldn’t be happier.

Pour customer service skills and not very friendly. Was not welcomed when I came into empty store. Did not seem to care. When I asked for the Store Manager they got rude and said there was no store manager and I was Shit out of luck.
