Very nice people and very good, but there should be more of them! Poor things are busy and the phone rings non-stop! Im also not sure why I had to pay out of pocket this time but last time (different provider) everything was covered. My insurance didnt change?

Not to impressed with the selection . I Have called for 2days to order my husband a new pair of glasses and nobody has answered or returned my calls..I understand that they could be busy... But for 2days?! Seriously?

I went into Shopko Optical in early October and Dr. Gingrich and Leanne were absolutely amazing. Ive never felt more at home or well cared for while getting my eyes examined. Leanne even told me about the 50% off the second pair of glasses offer so I could afford to get a pair of prescription sunglasses.

Small selection, poor quality. My sons glasses broke within three days of receiving them - after waiting two weeks to get them. The lady who formed my bows just guessed at the length of the bend - apparently I looked like I had the face of a four year old because the bows barely reached my ear. I had her reshape them a few times before I got frustrated and just accepted what I got. They still dig into my face and ears. It’s easier to just NOT see than to wear the glasses I desperately needed for the last four years.

I had actually started taking 3 out of my 4 Children to Shopko Optical about 2007 & 2 of my children still go to Shopko Optical today..I had personally for my own Optical needs went to Shopko Optical until this past December 2020 & I had a Great Experience..I have not had such a quick eye doctors appointment since I very first started wearing glasses at the age of 12..I would recommend Shopko Optical to everyone.. All of the Staff was Absolutely Wonderful Friendly, Extremely Helpful, Fast & Courteous Service..Thank You to all of the Staff at Shopko Optical

After telling them I had a medical exemption to wear a mask,they continue to try to coerce me into wearing one five more times.then separated me from everybody else and put me in the end of a hallway in a closet light room with no windows or additional exit. Then the doctor had a cough. Ill never go back to be further humiliated and treated like a leper.I refuse to do business with people who cannot read, do basic math, or think for themselves.

After moving to Billings recently this spring, I finally had a job opportunity and it provided eye insurance. I made an appointment and was seen in early-September. After walking in and standing at the front where I was asked to do so while waiting for a temperature check & sanitation due to the pandemic (understandable and appreciated as a patient) I was told to sit and wait - I dont even speak to my dog that way. The initial intake with the optician was awkward and uncomfortable as he did not speak except in very short, demanding terms. Move, sit, move. I went in for my exam and was out in 10 minutes, which I found very odd.After my exam, I asked the same optician to take my PD which seemed very taxing for him to do. He did not double check and verify the measurement was correct. I asked if I could have it written on my Rx card and it was as if I asked him to move the building off the foundation.I went to browse frames & was in there for half an hour and not a single employee asked how I was doing or if I could use any assistance - the most basic of all customer service skills. I ended up leaving.I called today, October 29, asking for an Rx recheck and what the procedure would be for Shopko. As a former optician myself for six years, I know that every practice is different. The receptionist was unaware of what I was talking about and non-informative. My assumption is that she is new to the practice or industry and if that is the case we all have to have a learning curve; however, she could have spoken more professionally on the phone and been more helpful. I asked if there was a sooner appt than what she provided and if I could be put on a cancellation list which seemed taxing for her to do.Shopko Optical is one of a handful of places in Billings that accepts my eye insurance, but like the old adage goes - You get what you pay for. I did not have to pay a dime for Dr. Gingrichs exam and it shows. Dr. Gringrich himself was nice enough, but made me feel rushed and did not seem like he genuinely cared about my health. Between that and the shoddy, abhorrent customer service I will not be returning and will not be recommending Shopko Optical of Billings to anyone. I would rather drive back to Bozeman and receive quality care and customer service.

The old woman there, her name is Patti( or Patty whatever) is so unprofessional, very loud and gross..(she used to work at Walmart heights and has a lot of issues too, so we discovered)..Iam addressing this concern to the management, because your employee has MESSED UP A LOT OF THINGS in terms of scheduling (she finally admitted that there was a mistake but reluctant to do so at first) and showed discrimination to clients, and lastly, this is very gross,, cleaning her dirty nails on the front desk in view of everyone sitting at the lobby. No work etiquette and so gross. She is more busy doing her nails than catering to the need of client. She needs to undergo customer service training and HYGIENE awareness. We will never go back there again as we were treated very unfairly..Ty

Staff that answered the phone was incredibly rude in general. Also, they apparently dont support frontline healthcare workers in times of the pandemic. My dad, who is an attending physician in the ICU, was scoffed at and told he needed to wait 6 weeks to be seen! That they wont bump people despite his need for eyeglasses. This was infuriating especially when he asked to be seen as soon as he can, like someone cancelling (to keep him on a waiting list). He didnt asked to be put above everyone else, just when they have an opening to see him. And all he needed was either new frames to replace his broken pair, or an eye exam if theyre able. They must be super busy here, because when we called all the other places in town, my dad was able to be seen within one week (with better customer service and nicer attitude)

The second I walked in for my appointment they pushed contacts to the point where I wanted to just leave but my glasses were broken and I needed new ones. The doctor did my eye exam and all of a sudden I didnt need my no line bifocals anymore after having them in every pair Ive owned. And continued to push contacts on me. Then said that it would be 2 weeks before I could my contacts when I said I didnt want contacts permanently I want glasses but need something to help me see so I could wait until my glasses came in. He then gave me contacts. Said these are close enough to your script youll be fine. I walked out wait 2 days and went and picked my glasses. They said 5 to 7 days Ill get a call they are ready. A couple days after that my eyes were red, swollen and my eyelids were peeling. I had an allergic reaction to the contacts so I called them and they said dont wear them anymore but youre glasses arent ready yet and said my insurance doesnt cover eye care (which it does) and continued to tell me I need to pay out of pocket. Called my insurance they gave me a phone number for shopko to call I gave it to the lady and the next shopko called me again and said the number you gave us is wrong and they arent your insurance company. (It wasnt wrong and it was a different lady later told me that lady had lost the number and needed it again.) So eventually it got worked out. 7 days later still no glasses called them on the 8th day at about 4 PM and sure enough they came in the day before and she was just gonna call me. Picked up my glasses and half the lense was sticking out other than that fit great. Just as I was about to leave a different guy grabs them off my face and starts messing with them and bending them without even asking or tell me anything. Now I still cant see very well without my bifocals which i told them I needed them and they want to charge me to put the bifocals in but the doctors said its pointless because I dont need them? Im never going here again had a better trip at Walmart and Walmart is going to fix my lense for me for free.

UPDATE!Shopko looked into the matter and decided that they wouldnt charge me for the glasses as they said it was their mistake. I am very satisfied and will go back next year for glasses. Although, I will get an auth # from my insurance company before I order my glasses.Thank you Shopko for taking care of this matter!I went to Shopko to order eyeglasses if they authorized it through my insurance.Sure enough the get an auth number and say Im approved. Months later I get a bill from shopko saying glasses were not approved.I called to get this resolved and so far am getting the run around. Paul and Donna have been nice, although Im not getting anywhere. Melissa was jus plain argumentative. Ive been holding all this time while typing this review, and just got hung up on.

Terrible! Staff told me my glasses were covered by my insurance (wasnt true). 2 months later, I get a letter for nonpayment and they threaten to send me to collections. Staff is very incompetent.
