Locally owned unique coffee shop. We stopped here on our way through Austin. Excellent baked goods. The raspberry almond scone was a delicious surprise. We also got the Rosemary and sea salt bagel with cream cheese. Really friendly staff and there is a decent amount of seating in the front and back.

Breakfast tacos were good and cheap. A lot of the outdoor seating was reserved so there werent many places available to sit. Only gave a tiny cup for water so I had to ration it while eating. There was no water refill station outside. They also didnt bring me napkins so eating was a bit of a struggle.

I’m not the biggest coffee fan, so I’m always thrilled when places have great tea options, which patika does for sure. They have the best chai latte I’ve ever had! The food is great, the staff is friendly, and you can tell the place is filled with lots of love. I’m a regular, so I thought it was about time I left review raving about this place :)

Overall, this place is a great coffee/brunch place. Food is good tasting and they have a variety of options! It does feel like they’re understaff since our food took an hour to come out. I understand it gets busy, but if you plan on coming during “brunch” time, come prepared to wait an approximately an hour for your food.

It is undoubtedly on the Eater Austins best coffee place lists and I can second that. But remember they serve breakfast and lunch only from 7am to 2pm, rest of the time its coffee and whatever bakery item is available. The coffee is amazing by the way but the seating is very limited. Gets filled up really fast with people and laptops. The bakery items are fresh. Definitely highly recommended. Parking is plenty.

Patika is great (minus one star for the uncomfy seating). I love coffee shops that allow for conversation. There’s nothing worse than meeting a friend for a cup of coffee only to find everyone is silently working around you. Not here! One of my favorite places in Austin! The food is top notch, high quality and full of flavor! Best breakfast sandwich of my life, with the sautéed spaghetti squash, bacon egg and cheese. This morning had the avocado toast, and the BEC on a pretzel bun with spicy mayo. So satisfying! Friendly service every time. You can grab a coffee or a glass of wine here. Oh yeah, the veggie bowls are healthy and amazing too! Love these guys!

A+++ We were in Austin on vacation were looking for a brunch place. Originally was going somewhere else, but it was too crowded. Im so happy for that. This was the best restaurant I have been to in Austin, so far. The food is soooooo good. Being married to a chef, my taste buds are a little spoiled. But, I wanted to lick the plate, it was so good. I had the biscuits & gravy. Which was a cornbread biscuit with chorizo gravy, fried egg, scallions, and thinly sliced pickled peppers (not spicy.) 🤤🤤🤤 The Italian soda was perfect, and the chocolate cherry scone was delicious. My husband had the migas omelet, which I tried...also amazing! 😋😋😋 The servers were friendly. Overall great experience. Highly recommended.

Great place for coffee and brunch! There is a large lot behind Patika so parking was easy. I came on a Sunday morning for brunch with some friends. The seating was open but we didn’t have trouble finding a table indoors. I had their banana berry waffle which came out fresh and delicious. It’s also exciting that Patika has their own coffee roast now called “Superthing”. I enjoyed my cappuccino and will definitely be coming back again!

Patika saved the day when everywhere else was either closed, not answering or a wait. Im a native Houstonian, and I dont believe in waiting in line for food (ex: Snooze). Austins variety is not much of a different concept when it comes to the food variety. With that being said, my husband and I politely moved on around to greener pastures. There may not be a huge variety of food items, but enough to get you going and have a pleasant experience. We both ordered the breakfast sandwich made with pretzel bread, which was REALLY good. It was soft, and just tasted like down home goodness. I ordered a sweet latte that came with a heart design (smiles :D), and my husband got a chai latte. He was pleased with his as well.Overall, great service, food was out quickly, and I enjoyed the area outside too. It definitely turned out to be a nice quiet and pleasant morning.

Absolutely stellar coffee on every level. Espresso shot was one of the best Ive ever had (blueberry notes from the natural Ethiopian came through beautifully), drip coffee was excellent (crowd-pleasing Colombian with the familiar brown sugar-centric profile), and the v60 pourover was show-stopping (washed Kenyan with lingering stonefruit in the finish). The biscuit was delicious, and I can only imagine the rest of the pastry case is similarly wonderful. Spacious cafe with a Scandinavian aesthetic and super friendly & knowledgeable staff. Setting a high bar of expectations for Austin coffee!

Bougie craft coffee cafe. They have the traditional coffee drinks, espresso, wine, beer, and baked-in-house pastries. You can order light meals from the food truck. I’ll start by saying the food was delicious! But the atmosphere is a little more complicated. You see, Patika started as (and still is) a coffee shop. But when they added a nice menu, with really delicious food, without changing up the seating, you get a mixed experience like we did.It was really crowded and noisy inside, and the seating is too close together to be able to eat a meal comfortably. We ended up sitting outside, which gave us more breathing room, and less noise.Bottom Line, think of Patika as a place where you can get a great food truck meal and be able to eat inside if you want... But I would love to see the chef open up a real restaurant, because the prices you pay and the experience you get are diverging.

I edited this review since Patrika has gone back to its delicious strong lattes.I love Patrika coffee. My boyfriend and I go there on regular basis to get lattes in the morning, and they are great except...This very morning. I order online for the first time - we usually order at the counter and wait, - picked them up and took the drinks home. For me it was an average latte, not great as usual. For my bf mediocre at best. Hopefully this was only a fluke.

Patika South Lamar has always been one of the best places to grab a coffee, latte, whole beans, or a breakfast / lunch bite. The owners are there helping with the operation some days, and the staff are by far the best I’ve interacted with around town. My main reason for coming here and leaving a review is that I have seen how they’ve handled this pandemic and it shows that they ACTUALLY CARE for their staff. I implore the owners if it is possible to continue to find innovative ways to keep their staff safe during this moment and keep the inside seating area closed. No ones life is worth a cup of coffee, so thank you for understanding that and operating in a way that puts your employees best interest at heart. I wish more business who are able would take the same consideration for their employees. 💜

I came around 4pm on a Friday and unfortunately they were sold out of everything except their savory biscuits and cookies, so I got one each of the biscuits (kimchi cheddar, chorizo manchego, and French onion) and a chai latte to go. My favourite was by far the chorizo manchego, but the other two were delicious as well, with crispy exteriors and fluffy, moist interiors. The chai latte was light on the chai but tasty otherwise. Will try to go earlier in the morning next time I’m in town.

My fiance and I both got the Watermelon Waffles and I got an iced vanilla latte. The coffee was amazing, you could taste all the different flavors layering together and it was the exact kick of caffeine I needed this morning. The waffles were delicious, they were fluffy and had a nice crispiness to the edges. The jam used on them was sweet and the dipping cream added a cool, refreshing flavor. The two fresh slices of watermelon were cold and sweet. The meal mixed together in a very refreshing, pleasant way. Dare I say, the best coffee in Austin? If its not on top its positively close. Pair that with their ability to create pastries that taste like something else altogether (i.e. french toast muffin, pecan pie scone) and it makes for an absolutely perfect choice for quality coffee & pastry. Theyve got cushioned bench seating in the front and tables & chairs outside for folks who want to chat. Id give it 6 stars if I could.

I really wish that I liked Patika more. Its within walking distance of our house and its got a great outdoor patio but Im not a big fan of their coffee and the food, while tasty is overpriced. We still go there quite a bit because its so convenient and the people there are nice. All that said as someone who enjoys drinking coffee and having a bite to eat while I drink it, this isnt our number one choice. They do have a dog hookup out front which is great and maybe theyll make a couple of adjustments to their menu. Even though Im giving it three stars Im still going to be coming back pretty often so take it for what its worth.
