Popped in and got the frappe. It wasn’t well blended at all, but I didn’t realize that until I drove away. I was basically drinking heavy milk and sugar with some ice in it, so if there was any coffee in there it wasn’t really noticeable. A friend said she liked this place, so I’m pretty disappointed.

One of the best coffee shops in Austin. With a variety of coffee and specialty lattes. Not to even mention their food! Delicious. You can’t go wrong with this place. Wish there was one down south.

We ordered the Rose Berry milk, a Thai Tea, Nutty Irishman, and a Choco Chimp. The foam in the coffees was outstanding. My son says this is the sign of a skilled barrista.We also got empanadas that were pretty good.The ambiance is monkey themed, and cute, but not over the top.The employee who took our order was efficient.

Chill environment, the staff have a lot of personality and eager to help. I was pleasantly surprised with the quiche. It reminded me of a thin crust spinach pizza with hints of feta cheese (with potatoes and veggies). They have lots of coffee, tea and food options. I would definitely go back.

Nice spot to relax. Darker roasts for coffee, lots of mixed drinks and a nice food menu. Most everybody here is studying.

Not so great coffee. Coffee were either to sweet or too bland. Tried that iced coffee and definitely below par compared to. other places.

Shout out to Victoria! She was amazing. One item was forgotten (there was a shift change so it isnt anyones fault) and she politely apologize and made the order right away and asked my girlfriend and I what kind of drinks we were having and gave us new ones, great hospitality and caring from her. Overall the place is extremely vibey. 10/10 food and coffee

The back room with doors supposed to be more quiet, when you can focus and work for couple hours. But so many people take calls for long time and talk LOUD, with zero consideration to others.Dear manager, please do something about this or add sign for this room. Loud talkers have more than enough space, at least 1 room should be more quiet.

There is only 2 pieces of banana slice, and 1 piece strawberry in bowl( I ordered fruit chia seed bowl with extra blueberries); Coffee was only half cup

Food wasnt fresh. Coffee over roasted. Another shop essentially copying Starbucks model with no attempt to advance it. At least use some quality roasted beans. Youve got much better options ATX.

Incredibly friendly vibe to this little coffee shop. They have very reasonable prices, and their iced coffee is some of the best I’ve had in Austin! They also have very friendly staff that make you feel welcome. In addition to having a great outdoor patio, the indoor seating is very nice and makes for a great place to hangout or get some work done. 10/10 recommend for any coffee shop lover!

Dry inedible spanakopita same thing with the bacon egg and cheese empanada. Even though its not even 8:00am, they obviously gave me yesterdays or maybe even beyond. The spanakopita smelled sour. Soo dry that you need to stab it to pierce the crust. After I smelled the sourness, I didnt eat it, I dont feel like getting sick. The only fresh thing was the supposed large coffees that were like mediums at best. Tried using their service chat and nobody got back with me.

One of my favorite coffee shops ever! The staff are so so friendly and care about their customers. Plenty of tables, plus a quiet room if you’re needing some silence. All of the drinks i’ve tried have been delicious. Always clean and socially distant, plenty of parking and overall just good vibes. Definitely a little far for me, but worth the drive. LOVE Monkeys Nest, oh and their tacos and pastries are amazingly delicious!

So stoked we found this place! Our breakfast plans got ruined by rain, so we stumbled on this and super happy about it. The coffee was well brewed, staff was friendly. Looks like a fun local experience. Im definitely coming back to try the lavender coffee and the Spicy coffee! Super creative. Highly recommend.

I ordered four sausage egg and cheese tacos they were terrible i didnt know you could messup breakfast tacos but these were the worst tasting bteakfast taco ive ever had

So.. first time reviewing this place, never visited until pandemic 2021 so I am forgiving in some areas if needed.This shop is pretty nice though, to hit all the points:Staff are lovely.Food is great.Store is clean and organised for pandemic situation etc, moving people around safely.The vibe is good for me, more kinda hole in the wall than fresh and new, but in a super comforting way.They do sell their own whole beans, but I did not see a roast date on the bags (for those after fresher stuff), although maybe the staff know.Plenty of regular options to go along with the flavoured stuff that I dont touch, but clearly there is a market for.As an Aussie American, I gotta confess the Flat White was way off, but other drinks are good.Definitely worth a stop, although swinging in off of a busy Burnet Rd is pretty rough if youre heading south.

I have been hunting for the perfect coffee shop for years. Monkey Nest is it. Its the perfect coffee shop. The people are so nice and ask how you are and actually care about you. There are plenty of tables. The drinks are perfect. I thank God every morning that I wake up for this place.

Ask for the seasonal drink specials that may not be on the menu. Leave it to the baristas creativity and dismiss your regular cup o joe and you will not be dissapointed. Black bean and sweet potato empanadas for the win!

I have been coming to monkey nest for many years, and today was the first time Ive been highly disappointed. Either the beans are old or something because my espresso was bitter/flat without any foam whatsoever. And I sent it back the first time, because I said for here, yet it was served in a paper cup; the second time it tasted really bitter and was flat. Oh well 🤷🏽‍♀️

Coffee was good despite having the wrong sugar. Restaurant, seating area is much larger than appears outside. Very popular apparently as it appeared that all tables were full. This was my first time at Monkey Nest Coffee. I will probably return weekly. For take-out.

Not sure if we caught them on a bad day or what. Reviews are great. However, woman who took our order barley said a word. Almost as if we weren’t there. Barista’s drinks were terrible. Very watered down, terribly made. No flavor. She too had nothing to say to us and was very cold and rude. Both very unwelcoming. Terrible service and awful drinks. I’ve had better coffee and service at a gas station. Will not be returning.

I had no issues with the wifi connection today, so Im changing the rating up to 5 stars.*****Original Review: June 2021I want to love this coffee shop, but theres one thing that continues to hold me back: Extremely poor interest connectivity. I come here to get work done, and often my sense of calm and tranquility quickly gives way to frustration and negativity (something the world needs less of) as Im constantly having trouble loading website or getting disconnected from the network or unable to connect, etc. It drives me bananas, and Im sure other customers dont appreciate hearing me cursing under my breath about it every two minutes. Its like trying to use dial-up in 2021 ... you cant really blame me. And I know its not just my machine, as this problem has persisted for me across multiple laptops and across years now. I keep returning thinking this time will be different, since I live in the neighborhood, its super convenient, and I also like everything else about the place. The baristas are all really friendly, amazing people. Ive actually emailed the site/owner in the past to express my disappointment in their internet service, and I believe I may have even offered some suggestions, but to no avail, apparently. I actually was going to include the download speed results from speedtest.net here, but I cant even get the test to load. I therefore rest my case. Others mileage may vary, but as I said before, this issue has persisted for me across different laptops and over a number of years. If youre planning to get work done over the web you may need to look elsewhere. Im currently able to post this review from Monkeynest only because I finally decided to tether my laptop to my mobile phone in order to do so, and I dont plan on coming back any time soon. Maybe Ill try Monkeynest again in another year or so and hope things change but will keep my expectations low. Very disappointed.

This is a great coffee house in Austin. Did not sample food fare but everything looked like it would be very tasty. Coffee and tea options are plentiful.

Loveeee this place! main point: 24/7 (this is before covid haha). the atmosphere and lighting are really great! sell cold and warm desserts, warm pastries, quite a variety of cold and hot coffee & drinks. really friendly and chill staff. perfect coffee shop to enjoy your coffee or even study at night. the only downside (not really) is its swarmed with students most of the time. their vanilla late and quiche are amazing. the cheesecake is pretty good.

This place is an awesome space to get work done. Lots of variety to choose from regarding beverages both hot and cold. They even have Thai iced coffee, which is pretty rare.Shout out to Victoria the barista. She was exceedingly kind and makes a crazy delicious hot chocolate! She even made sure I enjoyed my drink after making it. Highly recommend!

This place is a gem. I love coming here and I don’t even like coffee, and whenever I come here I never get any work done. In fact I always come here with the intention of studying or getting something done, but I feel like coming here makes me even less productive. Ordered an iced coffee and 2 breakfast tacos without cheese (allergy). I was delivered a hot coffee with two breakfast tacos with cheese. First and last time ordering from here.

Very impressed with this place! I decided to try them out because I work for a small, locally-owned business & I want to support other local businesses, especially through these times. I ordered w/ Favor & although 1/3 of my order was wrong (wanted the turkey croissant but got a blueberry muffin instead) - all three items (large mocha coffee w/ coconut milk, snack pack, and the muffin) were wonderful!! When I had noticed the order was wrong, I called MN first just to let them know & the manager, Alex, was very receptive; recommended to reach out through Favor but if I had trouble, to contact them again, and then said hed make sure the employees were paying closer attention to orders being sent out. Favor handled it & credited me back, so now Im looking forward to trying the turkey croissant one day!! - Giving 5 stars because despite the wrong item, everything else was great, including the service so I wont fault for basic, human error :)

The star here is GREAT! They totally added to the experience and I already wanted to come back before I even got my coffee. I ordered the wildflower lavender latte and it was EVERYTHING. 10 out of 5 stars, would recommend to any and everyone.

Great coffee, great place to work/study

My heart. Been going here since 2010. Friendly staff and GREAT coffee. Standard espresso drinks are top notch and they have a great weeky rotation of bean selections that lets you sample from different world regions. Cafe and breakfast items are great, also! My go to is the Nutty Irishman hot or iced.

Monkey Nest is open 24 hours! this helps so much when you work really crazy hours and want a coffee at 4am. The Lattes are sizable and are delicious. They have a good variety of specialty coffees and foods!

Really like this place. Its a new find for me and one I will continue to frequent. Great selection on food, great coffee, and great people! I look forward to going again! Thanks Monkey Nest!

Delicious coffee, awful parking lot

Tables are a bit too small for 2 people or one person who uses a normal mouse with their laptop. Could do without the passive aggressive notes to the homeless on all the tables.

I’ve never had better coffee than I get from Monkey Nest. They do a superb job in roasting their coffee beans and have so many different kinds to choose from! Its an amazing place for a coffee even during pandemic. I believe in supporting local businesses during this crisis. Highly recommend all the local businesses and especially this place.

Really good seasonal drinks

The coffee here is delicious and the employees Ive had the pleasure of speaking to were very helpful and friendly. The sweets and quiches Ive tried were very good and I really cannot put into words how good the carrot cake is.

This place was a wonderful respite after a long and difficult week. The staff was welcoming and kind, the coffee and pastries were lovely, and the facilities were spotless, even at the end of business. I cant wait to come back, and will reccomend it to all of my friends.

Coffee, pastries, acai bowls. Great vibes and lots of room to work or relax and have a cup of joe! Patio is nosey being right on the main street, but never a problem finding a seat. Would come back for sure.

Overall like three setup and ambience. Just stopped in for an ad hoc takeout, service was quick. Specialty drinks (coconut chimp & another with Irish cream) were good, a little sweet for my preference so would request light on sweetener in future. But good, and breakfast tacos a solid offering as well.Impressed by their and customers adherence to COVID guidelines. Will be coming back.

Walked in with my gf (who lives with me), both wearing masks, and was promptly told “you need to socially distance” by the cashier. After my gf (who is Asian) ordered and gave her name, the cashier asked “Is that your real name? Because I don’t tolerate people using fake names.” Disgusted

Really great coffee. The brew today had a nutty, berry flavor. They make a great vanilla latte. I cant wait to come back and try some of their specialty flavors.

If you havent tried the spicy monkey mocha from Monkey Nest, you havent lived in Austin long. My friend and I split a chicken salad sandwich and each ordered our own drinks. About 19 dollars (including tip) later, we were happily on our way. Tea, snacks, room to chat, study, or people watch, Monkey Nest is a way cool spot to check out!

My Salted caramel latte with too sweet and the bacon, blue cheese quiche was too salty. I really wanted to have a great experience here, but didnt. The four star rating is for the other things. I love the name, the coziness of the inside and the service. The coffee did not live up to my expectations. There are plenty of pastries, empanadas, quiche and baked goods which is great. Ill go back and give it another try and hopefully the next visit is better.

Dig this place. Great overnight spot (when that was still possible in non-virus times). Not cheap, but not terribly overpriced and their large size is very big.

I really like the smoothies here - Its a bit pricey but nothing too overwhelming. The atmosphere has changed A LOT and has become less homey and more crowded I guess since Its boomed in popularity. Staff is always great and the food is pretty good as well. I always stop here when Im on Burnet Rd.

Love this place! Plenty of room to sit, either for a chat with a friend or to set up for some work/studying. Their menu is extensive and they have a variety of df milk! Staff is super friendly and helpful and overall it feeling like youre going over to a friends place to hang out.

I’ve been terrified of monkeys my entire life. For my birthday my friends decided to bring me here blindfolded. I had a wonderful time. I’m still scared of monkeys.

Monkey Nest is the best 24 hour hangout if you need to work late and grab a bite. The food is spectacular, the staff are really friendly, and the menu offers tasty, healthy morsels inspired by Mediterranean and Persian staples.Be warned: its usually overrun with university students who can get pretty loud, so if you need a quiet place to hunker down with a textbook, this might not be a great spot for hours-long sessions. It can also be very difficult to find a parking spot during peak hours in the evening when school is in session.

Food is delicious; espresso-based beverages - not so much. They look and taste like theyre made by an automatic machine. Great place for working late at night.
