Needed a hat for this sunny day in Biltmore Park, so stopped in and found one that matches my shirt. Black Lab on the front ( dont own one but love the logo). They have a great selection of outdoor stuff as well as shorts, shirts and accessories. Good hat saved me from a sunburned face.

I am a newbie senior citizen fly fisherwoman. Took some lessons with Pisgah Center for Wildlife Education and was hooked. Went to the Orvis Asheville store to look at fly rods and reels and while I was a bit overwhelmed at first, Austin and JP (I think that is right) made me feel very welcome and at ease. They helped me select my rod (Clearwater 5W 9F), and a Clearwater large arbor reel. Austin let me watch as he loaded the backing line, fly line and leader. Showed me the knots he was using and explained everything he was doing. They set me up for the virtual training and invited me back for any help I may need in casting my new rod. Once the pandemic is behind us, I plan on attending their in person classes, but in the meantime I will do some dry casting in the back yard and venture out to a few of our local streams and rivers. I highly recommend this store based on product quality and helpful and friendly staff.

I walked into Orvis with an idea of what I wanted for gear because I booked a wade trip with the guide Zack Davis from Brown Trout Fly fishing and I was able to test out some gear that was provided. Sav greeted me as I was looking at fly rods and I told him what I wanted, he gave me some suggestions and we just hung out for a bit while he set me up. It was cool, I got some gear and made a new friend in the process. Highly recommended, all around genuine human.

Very nice and helpful staff. Easy and close by parking. Great Orvis store and has a nice selection of men, womens clothing as well as items for your dogs and fishing. Weve exchanged items in the store we purchased online. If youre coming from out of town, its only a few minutes off the highway. Worth stopping in.

Went in to try on a jacket, and left with the jacket and vest. Staff was friendly and thoroughly knowledgeable about the garment in the store. A real pleasure to deal with this Orvis store.

Just happened to stop in with one of my sons while my wife and other son took care of an errand. Ended up with both boys talking fly fishing for 15-20 minutes with a gentleman(didnt catch his name) and leaving with a little knot tying kit he put together for each of them. I picked up three cool shirts. Great service!

Came in this afternoon with my girlfriend. We have never been to this area before. Both N.C. Newbies and we were looking to do some fishing. Talked with Andrew ( I believe that was his name ) and he gave me the low down on our best options and was more than willing to answer all of my newbie questions. Purchased some gear from them and ended up having an awesome afternoon with my girlfriend both catching our very first fish in the state of N.C. and both our first brown trout on the fly. Love the store and the window staff

Today I had an outstanding experience in this store. Specifically Marguerite could tell that I was searching for something and immediately located it for me to try on. She was knowledgeable enough about sizing that she helped me order via phone in another store. She has a great sense of style and connects wonderfully with the customer. I’ll buy there again!

I am a local fisherman who loves the sport. I came into this store to browse around waiting for a movie to start. The staff asked me if I was looking for anything specific and I said no. They then proceeded to treat me and my family like thieves . Following each us around the store like 3 feet behind us clearly watching everything we did. Made us feel very uncomfortable and we left early. My mom and sister both said they felt Followed and that they thought we were stealing. Smh very Rude! Oh and prices were higher compared to other local stores

Very helpful team and quality products. This location is more of a clothing store than it is a fly shop, which is the reason for my lower rating. It would be nice to see a larger selection dedicated to local fly fishers and tiers.

Great store. The people were willing to help exchange Christmas gifts or order what we needed. We ordered a replacement and are happy with it.

I have been a customer here since 2012 and have nothing but good things to say about the store , the products and the staff.Austin(mgr) is as kind and generous with his time as he is knowledgeable about all things Trout in this part of the country.

Orvis has really given up on selling good quality outdoor clothing and gear. All the have now it the same sports clothing Dicks and everyone else sells but with an Orvis lable.

I dont give reviews often. I felt compelled to write this review after receiving exemplary service from the staff at Orvis Outfitters. I have always loved fly-fishing but its only been recently that I have had the time to truly pursue my hobby. I signed up for Fly-Fishing 101 and got a thorough introduction to the basics (free of charge!). The great thing was that Sav, Christian, Austin and the rest of the crew got down on my level and explained the basics in language I could understand. I bought my new set-up and have been fishing armed with the basic knowledge they gave me (even cought a few!) I have been back frequently, and they answer every question and solve every problem with patience and insight. I couldnt recommend them more.

Perhaps my favorite Mens Clothing and Accessory Store, where you can find both men and womens first class apparrell. Ladies, if you want special attention, ask for Margarete. She is always helpful and she knows style and fashion. Happy Shopping Thearpy!
