Was able to get in and have car evaluated in a very timely manner. The staff were also very courteous, knowledgeable, and upfront with what repairs were needed and why. Pricing was very fair for what was done. Overall, very good experience!

We have used the Midas in Allen for a few years. They are great. They have worked on all 7 of our and our kids cars over the years. They are professional, up front, honest, friendly, and easy to work with. They go out of their way to help us. We are very happy with their survive. We look forward to using them for a long time.

I took my vehicle to two other big name shops nearby and they both told me that I need to pay around $70 for diagnostic on my check engine light. I didnt think it was proper so I took it to Midas which was not close to me but they helped me previously. Midas connected their device and it turned out to be just a bad gas cap. I wished I live near this shop because they have integrity... Id give them a rating of 100 if I could!

TLDR: 0/5. Dont take any car here. Poor management, poor quality checks, poor quality of parts.1.Improperly performed oil change2. All oil leaked3. Car seized4. Owner unwilling to pay any damages5. Have not heard from owner/impossible to get in contactI took my new car to this location solely for the fact that our maintenance plan required us to have the oil change performed here. On October 19, the car had a routine oil change (there was no inspection done after the oil change, just pulled out of the garage). On October 20 at 9pm, the car seized on the hwy (very dangerous). Turns out that there was no oil left in the engine. I had the car towed to an official Toyota dealership to get a third party inspection because engine seizing will severely decrease the life of a car and could even total it all together. I had to walk to a rental agency at 7 AM on October 21st in order to get a car to get to work. When I called Midas that day I informed the employee that I would be taking the car to a Toyota dealership for inspection. The employee said that was fine. He also did not allow me to speak to a manager/owner prior to me acting on that decision. The Toyota dealership concluded that the O-Ring was torn around the oil filter cap, which caused all of the oil to leak from the car. The O-Ring was installed by Midas at their Allen location. I incurred $300 in additional fees from Midas lack of quality in their parts and/or their ability to even perform a simple and routine oil change. The worst part is that I informed the Owner, Alex of all of the trouble that I had to go through because of his shops negligence. Alexs response is to blame the manufacturer of the O-Ring and is refusing to pay for any of the costs that I have incurred because of the poor quality of his shops work (not even a refund for the oil that I payed for at his shop has been issued). It is now December 13th, almost two months since the incident and I have not heard from Alex in over a month. I have contacted the shop every week to get in contact with him but he is always on vacation or away today. I find that Alexs lack of ownership for the mistakes that his shop has made combined with the poor quality of the services/parts that they are using should make any one consider taking their car anywhere else. In my opinion, you are better off spending a little more and having your car serviced at the dealership. I have contacted Midas corporate and will be contacting the BBB about this issue and will update appropriately. Alex had plenty of time to make this situation right as an owner, but clearly failed to do so.

Alex is awesome. We were in Dallas for a soccer tournament and trying to head home back to Houston when our car broke down. Pulled it in to Midas where Alex took care of it. Having a new radiator put in. If you I want EXCELLENT service, just go to Midas!

They’ve treated me well in the past BUT don’t bother coming here for an oil change if they’re busy. They will prioritize other higher profit services over you. I was told it would be about 45 mins and I accepted. Other cars came in for other services and they were told they they were a little backed up but their car was pulled into the shop before mine after I had already been waiting over 40 mins.

Ive been taking my car here for almost a year and always have a good experience. Alex and Kenny are always so funny and talkative. They keep everyone entertained and seem to always be happy. I would recommend this shop to anyone, especially women like me, who know nothing about cars. They always explain in detail what I need and why I need it. Will never go anywhere else.

Not recommended. Brought in 10 quarts of penzoil ultra platinum for an oil change. My engine needs only 6.4 quarts. Didn’t give me back the remaining oil until I checked and asked. They told me they had to use all of my oil due to excessive amount they poured in the first time so they had to drained all of that out. After I told them I used the remaining oil to top off occasionally due to oil burning then they pumped their oil from their big barrel to the jar to give to me.

I bought tires from this shop in Allen on Greenville and they didnt specify the tires were only for when the car was to be sold and were only show tires in a sense. I came back because they were dishonest and the tires didnt even run a full 6 months. Overall NEVER coming back here again and recommend finding a small shop because these people are cheap greedy crooks

Great family owned shop. The only place I know where you can get a state inspection, full engine and transmission rebuild, and new tires all at the same place. BEAWARE!! NEVER TAKE YOUR CAR TO SERVICE AT THIS PLACE..Presented a coupon at checkout for brake services. The guy said he already applied the coupon which I never mentioned that I had a coupon earlier. The invoice he gave did not reflect the discount either. When questioned, he stated the discount was applied to the parts. I asked him to show me the discount on the invoice but he said it was on his computer....after ten clicks he still was not able to show me the discount as he was trying to make up stuff.. Be aware.. these guys rob you in broad daylight. NEVER GO TO THIS PLACE

Midas in Allen is great. Ive been taking my old car there ever since they opened a few years ago. The owner, Alex is a very nice guy who is very honest and knowledgeable about what your car needs. Doesnt BS you with anything. I never have to wait a long time to get my car fixed. If I am getting a major repair done, one of his 2 sons(Sheldon and Sam) drive me home and pick me back up so that I dont have to wait in the lobby for my car to get repaired. I dont know of any mechanic shops that offer to do that. Alex, Sheldon, Sam, Kenny and Erik are all good guys who are very knowledgeable about cars. Great customer service and great overall service. Highly recommend Midas.

An oil change station in Allen recommended this Midas to me for emission repairs on my car. They provided high end repairs and service at a great price. Ill be coming back for all my services now.

To my absolute surprise, I was told by an employee that the gentleman that helped me was the owner. That explains why this location is 5 stars. Great service starts at the top and this owner leads by example.A lady who was waiting for her car agreed about the top level service and work. She drives from Princeton because of their outstanding service.I will remain a customer for a log time. Good service with quality repair with no surprise wallet visits. On Saturday March 12th I went in with my 05 Grand Cherokee to get an alignment and a half the rear brakes looked at I was having a squealing noise and the rear brakes if you were to be driving and slightly pulled a break would have a grinding noise and drop it off at 11 oclock like I made my appointment which they promptly helped me and got to my car the only thing that Ive had as a negative experience which game to 4 instead of 5 star review is that I have requested a call with an estimate of price and I never got that call that being said they didnt charge me for any brake work that they did it was a free inspection and it is the alignment out the door for a hundred bucks and my brakes are 100% working how they should very responsive and I will definitely be returning and recommending the shop.

A glow plug (a single glow plug on cylinder number 8) in my Chevy Duramax went bad. I called 6 other automotive shops and got a price quote which ranged from $190 to $300. One popular Allen repair shop even tried to up sale me and to spend $800 on my glow plugs?!? Some shops were also only open Monday through Friday only and would not be able to repair my truck until later next week. Then I called Midas in Allen, TX. Their price quote was the lowest, they were open on Saturdays AND they could repair my truck that day in 2 hours. Not to mention how polite and professional they treated me. I am Blown Away!!! I have lived in Allen, TX since 2002 and have used many Allen automotive repair businesses in the past. Midas is now KING!! GREAT JOB GUYS!!!

I have been leary the last couple of years coming here... Because Ive been driving to Lucas to the place that has been consistent and provided great service... But one day I just wanted to get an oil change really quick... It was so quick and easy... Then I had a check engine light on one of the vehicles... They handled it... Slowly but surely, this has been our goto place for all of our vehicle needs... Oil changes, check engine lights, tire checks etc... They are nice, and make it easy... The prices are fair... Definitely less than what I have been used to paying and a significantly faster turn around... Service is great, and I came in very skeptical, and they have one me and our 5 vehicles over...

I take both my vehicles to Midas. The owner is great and so are the employees. They are fair and honest! Unlike a lot of places in Allen. Like the place I had to take to court to get my $ back but we will name no names😉! Then I found Midas!

I believe Alex is the manager and he is great and so is his staff. He explains whats wrong with your vehicle so you can understand. The mechanics are just as helpful Ive never had such a great experience at an auto body shop. I would recommend them to every one.

Sheldon at the front desk is very warm and friendly. Although I went in to just check a leaking tire, they took care of me well. I knew going in that it was a nail, but they were honest and transparent with what needed to be done. Will come back when I decide to replace the tire.

I went to Midas with my Honda minivan, and it was making a grinding noise. I had already been to two other shops to find the problem, and just wanted to see if i could get a better price. Kenny told me that the problem wasnt what the previous shop told me, it was just a piece of metal behind my brakes. They fixed it for free. This is exceptional customer service, and I will definitely return here in the future.

I used to love this place but Ive had bad experiences with it the past two tines. They used to just change your oil with a smile, they try to nickle and dime you for everything. As you can see from the picture below, because I told them I would replace the cabin air filter myself they jammed mine back in there so that it looked like this. Looks like Im looking for a new place to get an oil change which is too bad because I got my oil changed once a month because I drive a ton of miles each month. Stay away this place has gone downhill fast.

Brought my car in for a oil change. Without inspecting my car, I was told your car is a little difficult to reach the draining plug bc it has to take the whole panel off. Okay. After waiting for 15mins I was told the oil draining plug is stripped and needs to be replaced. I’ve driven my car for 60k miles and never heard of the issue happened to me. since having little knowledge to cars I refused the EXTRA SERVICE AND CHARGE then brought it to the shop I regularly go, within an hour same day same costs, I mean what oil change should be charged, problem SOLVED. First time writing a review in my life bc I’m ok with all kinds of business that they need to make some $ out of customers, but the experience here, sigh.. What I recommend is get to know your cars a bit before you choose this place, I chose bc of 4.6 stars. Ooooooops

Had my son who just turned 16 go there to get rear drum brakes replaced in truck. Alex (manager) proceeded to tell him that the brakes were only 20% worn and that they didnt need replacing. Felt that was a class act given everyone is in tough times and every sale helps pay his bills and salaries. Thanks Alex!
