NEVER AGAIN. Why is zero stars not available? I took my 6 year old here to get an eye exam. This is his first. The desk staff was pleasant but the Dr. Montoya was ridiculous. He spoke so fast that I could barely understand him, let alone my 6 year old. When I would attempt to say something, he would ignore me. I have never had such a poor experience in my life. Im happy I was second so I could cancel the appointment for myself. What a waste of time.

These people suck! Poor professionalism! Poor customer service! Every single employee was hateful! As a veteran I went in got glasses and they were not mine and refused to fix or replace! I would never recommend this place unless you want to get ripped off and never be able to see! As simple as readers they couldn’t even do! The glasses werent even ours but still kept pushing to purchase more! DO NOT GO HERE! DO NOT RECOMMEND!! They don’t even deserve the one star!

Was a great experience over all. They have a great selection even with the less expensive glasses which is rare. Normally the cheapest glasses look like you took a trip back in time!

Had a wonderful experience at Eyeglass World today! Barb got me in the same day I lost my right contact and I was seen quick. The procedure took an hour and was well worth it. (Im mad I didnt get his name) but the eye doctor was calm, compassionate and caring. Got the answers I needed and staff was super friendly. I will be back!

Spent good money out of pocket and have gone through multiple frames from here and every one is cheaply made and don’t stay on your face or paint rubs off… my thoughts are that the people who set you up with glasses would make sure they fit your face and will work for you but I guess I was wrong.

Totally rude optometry receptionist. Waiting for my wife to get an eye exame and was asked to leave as seats were for patients only. Went and sat outside to wait for the exam to be completed. Watched as other patients spouses, and friends were able to wait. Guess I was not welcomed, would definitely not recommend or patronize this optometrist again due to front staff. Might want to replace the rude receptionist. The waiting room never had more than a couple of folks waiting.

Trying to find a pair of eye glasses is stressful, but with the help from Cassandra, she made my experience much easier. Love this GIRL!!!!

Weve been getting glasses here for several years, its always a positive experience. Staff is great. Selection is great. Prices are not bad compared to some other places weve tried. They dont accept our insurance...but the glasses are still the best deal we have found. Weve had to use the warranty a few times and they are always prompt and easy to deal with.

This place was very quick walk in with the doctor. The receptionist Barbara was very kind and knew exactly what she was doing with the insurance, and other options. The doctor himself was very kind and methodical. The entire process took about 20 minutes. Pretest and all. The doctor did give information About options and future info. On the glasses side, there are plenty of options, and tons of designer options and lower price packages. They help fit as well when you pick up. The lab manager Bob help fit my sister and was very professional. I will be back. Much cheaper than other stores. ( I use to be an optics tech and with an in store discount it was cheaper)

Worst eyeglass world in the world! Lady checked us in was rude and couldn’t run our policy number number because our 8 year old daughters name wasn’t on the card. The policy numbers are the same but lady was rude and didn’t want to do her job! Send your money and time elsewhere. WASTE!

Called a day ahead to ask for my prescription. They said better to come in to get it. Explained I would be in tomorrow. I show up and they do not have it ready. Ask me to wait for a minute while the Dr writes it up. Waited over a half an hour. Asked a couple times if they could call me when it is ready. They kept telling me to wait, should be just a minute. No thanks, never again with these folks. Now I have the prescription and you cant even read the insanely terrible hand writing. Suggest you find another eye Dr than Gordon W Dyer. Poorly ran office.

I came in to get new lenses and was helped immediately. I accidentally brought the wrong prescription, and Cassandra was so patient and understanding and worked with me so we could get it faxed from my optometrist’s office! It was a great first experience and I will definitely be returning.

I had such a great experience here. I put off getting new glasses and contacts for years because I always thought it was a huge process and hassle. Eyeglass world completely changed my mind about that! In one visit, I got a quick eye exam, a set of contact lenses enough to last me almost a year, and a new pair of glasses all in the same day. I cannot express how impressed I was with how courteous and professional the services were, and they were really on top of cleaning and social distancing. Adam helped me figure out which glasses and contacts were right for me with my insurance and I am so thankful! Never again will I put off my eye care. Thank you so much!

Had an amazing experience meeting an absolute angel. Cyndi was awesome and helped me actually afford my first pair of progressives. I also greatly appreciated the OD who took extra time diagnosing my possible glaucoma that has been undiagnosed for years.

From the moment I walked in I felt welcomed and was given information on where to look for the frames that I wanted and was allowed to look at my leisure without any pressure from your staff. Once I found my frames Adam assisted me with everything I needed to do to order my glasses. Adam was very courteous and confident in the information that he gave me and assisted me with any prescription issues that I had. Beware. The optometrist does not take the same insurance as the store next door!! They dont tell you this when you schedule!!The optometrist connected to this Eyeglass World takes appointments online, where you enter your insurance info, but when I showed up they said they dont take my insurance there but the shop next door does. So my insurance works to purchase glasses but NOT for an eye exam at the office run out of Eyeglass World. Waited months for this appointment and all other places are booked up because of Covid. Shame on them for not calling me sooner to tell me they dont accept my insurance and shame on them for duping people by not taking insurance affiliated with the shop theyre connected to. Wouldnt recommend this place if it was the LAST optometrist left in ABQ.

Safety was the number 1 key at this store. We felt very safe to get the exam and then to loo around for glasses. Everyone was friendly and professional and we had a pleasant experience! Highly recommend!

In this time of COVID-19 it is a challenge to find services that will assist. This can be very frustrating, especially when the service is being sought are for essential quality of life issues such as eyesight.It was a pleasure to find that Eyeglass World not only was available, but we were able to get an appointment, exam and select glasses in minimal time. It was also very refreshing to see that Eyeglass World is 100% compliant with state of New Mexico guidelines and policies regarding protection of their customers.

The worker says since I didn’t buy them there he’s not responsible if he breaks them. Right after he says that he ends breaking them when tightening them. Now, I’m without glasses because they weren’t responsible for them.

If I could give this place 0 stars I would. Totally rude, raised the price on me, basically doubled it because I had a stigmatism when I told them that from the beginning. Then because of covid they dont want to get close to anybody theyre charging an extra $15 to dilate your eyes which they didnt tell me about initially, why they need to do that idk.Also, the doctor was very rude himself, didnt want to answer any of my questions, then he tells me his time is money and that we needed to hurry up and basically just tried to rush me through the whole thing on top of jacking up the price. Then theyre complaining that I didnt have my mask over my nose enough which it was so I complied just to find out the doctor didnt even have a mask over his mouth at all so I ended up walking out of the place.Poor service dont go thru them!

While the eyeglass store was good I will never bring my kids here again for an eye exam. I was told what the charge would be for an eye exam and if they dilated the eyes it would be more. I told them no. Front desk person goes well due to social distancing he might have to. I signed the paperwork and picked no dilation. Surprise surprise when I get hit with the dilation fee. Even after I said no twice. Will never go back here. The doctor even showed up for work after the appointment time. And nowhere does it show on their web page that they are doing this. Nice racket they have going on here.

Came in today because I broke my glasses. The staff are very helpful and friendly. Due to the holiday they are closing early. But John the technician is doing me a big favor and getting my frames to me today. I appreciate it so much! Thanks again John!!

Before going to Eyeglass World, make sure you pay attention to the bad reviews. They are accurate.I went in last month for an eye appointment and a new contact prescription. The appointment itself raised some immediate concerns, as I immediately noticed they werent doing as many tests and checks as they usually do. Its been a long time since Ive had an Optometrist rely on an eye chart and not much else.That said, when he brought me the trial pair of contacts I could see great. Distance, depth perception, and arms length were all good. Furthermore, I could see my computer monitors perfectly as well...which is important in my occupation. I felt confident ordering a years supply of contacts from them as well because the doctor told me the trial lenses were slightly off from my actual prescription and I would see even better when they arrived.It took a little time for the actual prescription contacts to arrive because of the holidays, but when they did I excitedly put them in to discover the actual prescription was wrong. It was like looking through a bubble around me, and what was worse was that I could no longer see my computer monitors or anything at a reasonable distance. I double-checked the boxes of contacts and they matched the prescription the doctor had written, so I called Eyeglass World and scheduled a follow up appointment to get the prescription corrected. Having worn corrective lenses most of my life, I understand that sometimes the prescription is wrong and just has to be fixed. Not a big deal.Or at least I THOUGHT it wouldnt be a big deal. When I went in for the follow up appointment, the doctor looked up at me and gave me a scowl like I havent seen in awhile. He obviously wasnt happy to see me. When I went in and sat down to explain what was going on, all I was given was a rush argument. He wouldnt check my eyes, and insisted I go get readers to see better at arms length. He wouldnt re-check my eyes, and wouldnt review the prescription. Basically it felt like he just wanted to give me a bundle of excuses and leave me with contacts and a prescription they had the money for, but I simply wont be able to use.I left the office with things unresolved, figuring I would reach out to Eyeglass Worlds corporate office for help. I sent them an email over a week ago with no response. I ended up sending a follow up email today.I also consulted with another trusted Optometrist and my Vision insurance on the matter, and both explained to me that whats happening here doesnt make any sense. If you can see well with one pair of contacts, but cant see well with the other, obviously the prescription is wrong and should be corrected. Furthermore, more tests should have been done at the appointment to make sure that I could see up closer and recommendations done at the first appointment.This is by far the worst experience Ive ever had with an optometrist. Peoples vision is important, and ruining it with an incorrect prescription and a rush job should never happen. As it stands Im stuck with a prescription and a years worth of contacts I cant use.

I have had headaches ever since I purchased my last frames and Adam noticed they were much too large for my face, causing me to have tunnel vision, and likely, the headaches. Despite the previous reviews, I called and scheduled an appointment. I asked at the time of scheduling about the insurance accepted prior to my appointment and I was advised they accepted my insurance. As soon as I arrived I experienced a rude approach from the clerk. I was screened for COVID, which was not explained to me at the time of scheduling my appointment. The optometrist clerk was unprofessional and rude with her assistance. At this point she told me my insurance was preferred and she called the insurance company to verify. She then said I had to pay out pocket to continue to be seen. I left upset because I drove 50 minutes to be seen at this clinic, I called two weeks prior to gather information that was not explained, and had an awful experience. I do not recommend this place because they do not care about their patients or customers.

Went in for an eye exam and was informed they couldnt use my insurance (card was present) because someone else had listed that as their insurance. My member number and information was being used by another patient and I was told I can just pay out of pocket instead. They dont verify insurance or look at the cards. My card clearly has my name but they had it assigned to another patient and refused to look into it or accept my card. I was told I needed to figure it out myself, they wouldnt look into it further.

The people were very helpfull and followed all covid protocol which I was very concerned about...very professional...and I can see again!!!

Frames were affordable, there were several lens options, my glasses were ready when promised. The staff was very helpful and friendly. I recommend the insurance because it is very affordable and worth the piece of mind knowing I can get my glasses replaced if they are lost, stolen or damaged.

I got glasses for the 1st time the lady at the front door was kinda rude nobody told me about the temperature and mask situation ,but the front desk lady Barb was amazing as well as the Man who checked my eyes and gave me the prescription. Have always had a good experience here. When I called on Saturday afternoon, they were able to book me an appointment on Monday morning. Dr. R is always so friendly and welcoming. My exam was fast, but didnt feel as if I wasnt important to him. They just seemed incredibly efficient! Was able to get contacts fitted that day, too. Would recommend if youre looking to get in and out quickly!

Ive always had a great experience! They maintain their staff for a long time so you actually get to know the employees. They are so friendly! I wouldnt go anywhere else. The glasses are inexpensive and of good quality. The manager, Michelle goes above and beyond for the customers. Honestly, my whole family gets their glasses here. Their eye glass doctor is great too. They have top of the line equipment and if you want a perfect prescription, this is the place to go. Very happy with Eye Glass World.

I am not big on writing reviews, but I felt compelled to after my experience. I have been to several eye docs in the area before and never had such a thorough examination as I did when I saw Dr. R. He was young, quick, efficient and knowledgeable. Most of the other docs I saw were old and took forever. I appreciated how quickly I was seen even though I was a walk in.I hope this helps.

I changed insurance a few years ago and after that I went through 5 maybe 6 years of horrible puppy mill type optometrist offices. I have really bad eye sight so not having a correct prescription for years has been awful. well Im happy to say I feel like a human being again! thank you so much to the knowledgeable dr. that took care of me. This is my second time visiting the doctor for my annual eye checkup. Lord, the doctor is so amazing. He’s very attentive to your needs and questions. You can tell that he has a high good energy. The receptionists are nice, too.This year I decided to change the lenses of my old frame to the new prescriptions at their eye shop. I had a very good experience. Unfortunately they couldn’t work on my sunglasses frame due to its extreme curve. But they did my regular glasses. I usually have difficulties adjusting to new prescriptions. With them, I did NOT go through any problems adjusting.Side note: I ended up buying new sunglasses frames from them. They gave me the best deal ever I could get on a Versace pair.I highly recommend both: the doctor and the shop.

My prescription is literally being held hostage because I refused the eye drops. The doctor absolutely REFUSED to give me my prescription unless I had dilation.I was told i had to have them dialated because of covid. When I questioned that it became social distancing so he could see in the back of my eye when I had already signed a paper refusing the dialation. Then it became the insurance requires he do the dilation even though I signed the waiver.I called Americans with Diasabilities to explain this discrimination against me. I have vertigo due to 2 TBIs and eye drops to dialate my pupils increase the vertigo, and make me nauseous and travelling alone is very dangerous. I had no prior warning about mandatory covid eye drops.

Great experience with eyeglass world. We’ve been coming here for years and referred all of our employees to them as well. They have treated us great. One time we lost a pair of glasses while on vacation and they replaced them at no additional cost and they were there the day we arrived from our vacation.

I read the bad reviews and almost didnt visit. However, they carried everything from El Cheapo to Oakley, so I decided to give them a try. Whereas other dealers were quoting 2-week lead times for Oakley, they had my glasses in under a week, and I got a pair of Oakley sunglasses half off for my wife. The staff was helpful, courteous, and responsive, and helped me select a frame and lens type that worked for me. I love my new glasses!

Very Friendly and helpful! I took my mothers glasses in as the lens had popped out, the frame had a broken screw. The optician (Cynthia), was very helpful and fixed the issue. When I tried to pay, she said it was complimentary. I very much appreciate this kind gesture for my elderly mom. I will definitely take mom to this store when she needs new frames.

Just gonna say that the glasses side and that staff is fantastic. Dr. Montoya, who is only here on Saturday is by far the worst eye doctor I have had. He is rude during the exam and he has now messed up my prescription twice. Hes tried rushing me out telling me its just the contacts and that I just need to get used to them. Ive worn contacts for years and never had the problems Im having now, since I started seeing him. I highly recommend people avoid this location on Saturdays when he is in.

Spent over 700 dollars on glasses and needed to get one lens replaced because of a chip. Got the glasses less than a year ago. Was told I have to have a new exam because the prescription was expired. What a BS money grab. The other reviews arent wrong about the Dr. either, guy is not competent. Go to Walmart (man that hard to say..)

The doctor was not welcoming, he made it seem like I was interrupting his with my appointment, he rushed through the exam, I was not in the exam room longer than 10 minutes. He barely let me say which slide was better to see from. His staff, was ok, the female was short and rushing everything, however the male was a more personable and easy to talk to. I would not recommend anyone going to see the doctor, unless they are in a rush and liked to be treated as nothing.The eyeglass side of it was phenomenal! The assistant manager helped me out when I finally settled on the glasses I liked, and answered all my questions. When I picked up my glasses, the gentleman was extremely kind and helpful.I would definitely purchase glasses from them again.

They have such a great team! They were pleased to help me when I had uncomfortable lenses. They are super friendly. But one thing I don’t like is that they keep you on hold forever when you try to make a appointment. I don’t know if it’s that lots of people are making appointments or if it’s intentional or if they’re just closed by the time we call them. I really don’t know.
