DC is full of cheap, mass produced, tourist-trap merchandise. But Shop Made in DC is different! Unique items made by local makers and business owners adorn every shelf in this beautiful shop. Great for souvenirs and gifts.

This shop is awesome. Its filled with things all made here in DC by DC residents. Its a shop that supports local creators, I like the idea of that. This shop has a lot of gift type items. So if youre in town visiting its a great place to get a souvenir.

The store itself is delightful with many artesian handmade products. Also, the staff were very kind with a great welcoming attitude. However, do not do any food/wine tastings at this storefront!!! We did attended a wine and chocolate tasting, paid 100 dollars, and was very much disappointed. This is why:1. There was no tables or seating for this event. There was one single small table tucked in the corner of the store with barely any room to reach the items on the table.2. There was no where to put your coats, scarves or purses.3. No public bathroom, which is a must if your serving alcohol and food. The bathroom they did have available was their personal bathroom in a storage closet with no soap or paper towels.4. For this tasting event they had one small tray of chocolates, a small bowl of popcorn and a small bowl of chocolate mouse. So that in the middle of cold and Flu season we are all touching everything with our hands to taste with no tongs for serving. It would have made more sense for a tasting to have the popcorn and chocolates in Individual plastic cups for us to grab and taste at the very least so it was safe to eat. Of course I thought this tasting would be seated with each different cocktail and chocolate combination being served to you in a sequence but that was obviously not in the thought process of the owners.5. They did not even have a trashcan so you can throw your strawberry stem or cocktail cup out ( which were plastic by the way). I mean how do you not have a trash can available.6. The staff, eventhough nice, were too distracted with videoing the event on their phone or with side conversations that most of us were not included or had a raise our voice to get a drink refilled or to ask what they were about to serve up. The staff even stood in front of the small table so the guests could not see what was happening.7. Lack of organization! The single chocolate tray was being hogged by 3 ladies in the corner of the table. Its not the ladies fault however there should have been 3 chocolate trays if they were dead set on having this small table. Drinks were not lined up properly. There was not even enough napkins!!8. The table. I want to make sure you understand. This was not a table you could walk around. It was stuffed in a small corner for which you could barely access.Waste of an experience and a hundred dollars. The owners and staff should be more prepared before they lead another mediocre event.

Stopped in here on a whim and ended up with several one-of-a-kind items. Great shop with something for everyone, but especially DC natives who will understand some of the quirky references on items.

Lovely shop full of local products made in DC. I love how each product is accompanied with a description of the vendor with a brief description of the owner, when the business was founded, and where its made.At Navy Yard, the shop is only retail and a bit different than the location in Dupont Circle as it doesnt have a cafe. Theres a lot to merchandise: greeting cards, jewelry, dishware, mugs, creams, candles, and food! The snack shelf tucked in the back with artisan bars of handcraft dark chocolate and indian spiced lentil chips and dips piqued my curiosity and bought them. Happy to support and show TLC to local businesses.Dont miss the beautiful mural of DC monuments near the front! The staff is really friendly and explaining to us the competitive application process of becoming a vendor and a partner with the shop.Great shop for gifts and to sample local products, definitely check out!
