My Daughter Loved it!!! If you think it looks like it was designed in 20 minutes or less, thats because it was and it turned out Amazing!!! $25 for a Cookie Cake that I didnt know existed. My Baby girl loves snickerdoodles, and instead of a dozen for her birthday we got a whole cake. Thanks Captain Cookie staff members!!!

The staff was super nice and patient with our group though. We warmed them in the oven when we got home. The cookies were solid, but not knock your socks off out of this world. Granted, we came right as it was closing, so maybe the freshness had worn off a bit and some of the (presumably, top) flavors werent in stock.

They serve their cookies WARM! Big deal. We tried 5 cookies. Choc chip, macadamia nut + lemon, ginger, peanut butter, and snickerdoodle.We didnt eat them all at once, and let me tell you, theyre much better warm and fresh. Reasonably priced.

OK place if you have a craving for something sweet, but overall a mediocre cookie. We ate the chocolate chip, ginger and molessa, oatmeal and raisins flavors. There was a lot of chocolate in the chocolate chip cookie but it was not of high quality. I liked the ginger one out of these three. The cookies served cold, it was nicer if it was warm.

I suspect the lady that ran this establishment the night we visited was the owner. She was awesome! The cookies were by all accounts Fantastic!! The prices were more than fair, the desserts awesome, and the service could not have been better. Was a bit of a walk to get to, but all members of our family were glad we went. We are only in town go the week, but I suspect we will make that walk at least once more.

The cookies are definitely worth the wait!! You get them warm and they are soft! They have a little area upstairs where you can sit if you dont want to take your cookies to go. We checked out this place while we were in DC for the weekend one night after dinner. We were in line for about 15 minutes (on a Saturday night). Definitely check it out if you have a sweet tooth and your in the DC area!

Wonderful comforting dessertWe saw this place on the map and had to check out a restaurant with such a fun name. After dinner elsewhere we wandered back to check out the options for dessert. I selected two cookies and milk and found them delicious and the cookies obviously fresh-made. My wife chose an ice cream sandwich and really enjoyed both the ice cream and the cookies.The staff were friendly and helpful and the atmosphere was delightful. Highly recommended if you’re in the area for a snack or dessert—plus they’re open late.

He had noting but great things to talk about within this company which made me want to try out their cookies and ice cream. I bought three, usually eating them all in one setting, only to leave 2 left to desire. Please restore the quality this great cookie company once had 🙏.Great Chocolate Chip Cookie! The best cookie I’ve ever bought because it tasted as if I made them myself. It was warm, soft on the center but nice and firm on the outer edges. Delicious cookie overall, the cookie you just have to try yourself. For $5 bucks you get two cookies 🍪 ,which are good sizes, and a small bottle of Grass-Fed Cow Milk 🥛 and they have all types of variety such as Whole, 2%, Soy, Etc. They even have vegan cookies so anyone can essentially try them!

Ice cream was horrible, very sandy and gritty. When I called to complain I was told the ice cream expiration date was 10/5/21. I had to chew the milkshake because it was so gritty and finally went and returned it for a full refund. This ice cream and others in the freezer were melted and refrozen leading to the horrible texture. BEWARE

I really wanted to love this place. Decent chocolate chip cookie, but the peanut butter cookie was probably the worst I’ve ever eaten. I didn’t try the ice cream but it looked fresh. Wouldn’t necessarily avoid this place but wouldn’t go out of my way to eat here.

Incredibly rude.As we were walking up on the side walk we saw a woman come out and another woman walk in. However, there was a torn and tattered piece of paper taped to the door that looked about 6 months old saying “Back in 15 minutes” even thoughthe door was both unlocked and ajar.My husband popped his head in as we had just seen someone go in and were questioning whether the paper had been left up on accident and just said “hello” before going any further to make sure it was ok first and we was yelled at by an unseen employee asking if he could read and to get out. I no our patronage will not make or break them but we will not be spending our money here.

Cookie is love. Cookie is life. I have made many friends loyal customers of Captain Cookie because once theyve tried a cookie, they always come back. They are crispy on the outside but soft on the inside. Sometimes, I get really lucky and they are still warm. Then, I get a piece of the afterlife, for 1,50$. I would be brand ambassador for Captain Cookie, if theyd give me a lifelong supply of cookies.But seriously, them cookies are good.

4 Stars because the snickerdoodle wasn’t soft like the peanut butter cookie. The staff is very friendly. There are about six or eight selections of ice cream to pair with six or so types of cookies. You can mix and match for a very reasonable price. An ice cream sandwich with two cookies and a good portion of ice cream is just five dollars. That is a great quick treat.

I have been to this place a few times, and the lady that is there is always in a bad mood . She is always on hon her phone talking to some oneVia Bluetooth. Instead of paying attention to the clients she talk on the phone and talks in bad moon to clients.

I’ve never been to the actual restaurant. But we booked the truck for our opening night of a Target store and it was a big hit! We had the pleasure of having the actual owner there who was also great. Cookies and ice cream. What more could you want? I had the peanut butter and chocolate and it did not disappoint.

Got a chocolate chip cookie, and it tasted okay, but it was room temperature, not that fresh, and the staff couldnt/wouldnt heat it. 10 seconds in the microwave would be fine but nope.

We stumbled onto this place looking for a quick dessert. Instead, we found heaven. They have a decent selection of cookie types, but they do those cookies WELL. They also serve ice cream, truffles, and cookie dough, as well as turn cookies and ice cream into ice cream sandwiches or milkshakes. I bought 6 cookies with the intention of bringing some back home for tomorrow. But I may just eat them all now.

Your experience can definitely depend on when you go and how fresh the cookies are. Below are my reviews for my first and second visit.My second experience: I was convinced by the recipe maker to give these a second try and am glad I did. Definitely adding a scoop of ice cream between the cookies enhances the cookies, and the cookies seemed much fresher this time. For the sandwich, I got one regular chocolate chip and one cookie of the day (chocolate funfetti which is double chocolate with sprinkles) with a scoop of vanilla ice cream.My first experience: Very disappointing. The cookies were not special at all. Not served hot. Just meh. We tried 6+ different flavors and none were anything special. Chocolate chip was the best of them. Snickerdoodle was not very flavorful and lacked enough cinnamon. Others tried included: Funfetti, Heath bar (barely tasted the Heath toffee), double chocolate, Ginger Molasses (too much ginger). The textures were all fine (not dry, stale etc), the flavor just wasnt there.

I got an ice cream cookie. Funfetti bottom cookie, strawberry ice cream, and a top chocolate chip cookie. The strawberry cookie wasnt artificially colored pink which is great. It taste so natural with the bits of strawberry and not so sweet. The funfetti was so fun to eat and look at. Chocolate cup was not chewy, which what I prefer, but still great. My sister got double chocolate. Shes not a big sweets person and she said it was perfect. Not sweet but enough to satisfy her sweets craving.It was a great night cap. :)

You can tell the cookies are freshly baked and the ice cream is good but it’s not so amazing that you need to go out of your way to try this place. Seems like a great late night or college hangout spot. They also offer the edible cookie dough.

We just ordered a dozen of their vegan chocolate chip cookie. They are fantastic - cant even tell they didnt use animal products. The only negative I have is that I wish they had vegan options for all of their cookies :D Would definitely recommend.

I just bought two ice cream sandwiches and my cookies were burnt and cold. I had to return the cookie ice cream sandwiches and get a refund because they were not edible. I’m not sure what happened this time around. This used to be a go to spot.

Ordered an ice cream sandwich (vanilla with chocolate chip cookies) and a chocolate milk. The chocolate milk was average- not bad but nothing special either ( it is great they support a local business with stocking these)The ice cream sandwich was not good for the $6 it cost. The cookies were very hard (a bit burnt) and the ice cream was melted within 30 seconds of receiving (ice cream looked like it had previously melted and was refrozen as well) I would have preferred a store bought one for 1/2 the price.I added a star for the friendly service. Price was too high for the quality of the food.

Meh. Thought it was average. The peanut butter tasted like it was made with powder peanut but to me (just could’ve been better), the funfetti cookie has the sprinkles on top instead of inside the batter so it’s a sugar cookie with sprinkles and the snickerdoodle was delicious.

Got the famous ice cream sandwich and chose fudge brownie cookie (amazing), vanilla ice cream (average), and chocolate chip cookie (too crunchy almost burnt). Service was good as she gave recommendations and was very friendly. However, touched the phone to answer it twice and didnt change gloves when handling the cookies. Would order the fudge brownie cookies again and take them home to eat.

We hired Captain Cookie as a dessert option on our wedding day and we are so glad we did! All of our guests loved the ice cream and cookies and thought it was a neat idea. The person manning the truck was incredibly friendly and easy to work with. We were pleasantly surprised by the price and felt it was a great value for the high quality product and service. Additionally, they were incredibly responsive and easy to work with when booking and I almost forgot about them as a vendor because they were so easy to coordinate with, which is exactly what you want when putting together a big event. Thank you, highly recommend booking for a private party, it will be one of the best decisions you make!

Cookies are good for the price. I wanted an Ice cream sandwich with vanilla but they were out. Ice cream sandwich is big enough to share. If i had a suggestion itd be to have a self ordering kiosk or something because I had to shout and repeat my order to them because there was a long line of people in a open building so there was a lot of noise . I think a self ordering kiosk would help a lot.

A very practical ice cream sandwich that doesn’t get complicated. The cookie and ice cream are really good. You’re able to hold it but its still large. Very shareable if wanted.

I love this place! The ice cream they use is delicious. The cookie sandwich is a great value— you get a pretty big dessert for a good price. I always struggle to finish it, but feel happy when I leave. There’s a cute seating area upstairs. The milkshakes are delicious, too (my favorite is cookies and cream). My only complaint is that sometimes the cookies are a little hard. I probably wouldn’t order them alone, but you can’t tell once you put some ice cream on them and let it melt. Super yummy! They’re also open til midnight, so it’s a nice place to stop if you’ve been at the Foggy Bottom bars and get a sweets craving.

I was here earlier today to get my ice cream fix, and I watched as the staff unconsciously used the gloves he was wearing to touch every items in the store and didn’t change the gloves before picking up the cookies and packing my orders. If stores are going to open, the safety measures should be quality standards and not such that will put customers at risk.

I became a fan of Captain Cookie and the Milk Man when I lived in Foggy Bottom, and they were one of my favorite stopping points after a long run. The cookies are delicious, the ice cream is fantastic, and the service is exceptional.Im such a fan that we hired them (even before the caterers) to bring their truck to our wedding, and it was a HUGE hit. The truck and the guy they sent were awesome and it was a huge hit with our guests (I saw so many Ice Cream cookie sandwiches). That they also took our need for no nuts seriously (so my nephew could enjoy the cookies too) was great as well.

Great Dessert place, the ice cream is locally sourced and so deliciously creamy. The cookies are great the edges are crispy while the centers are soft. Had the health bar and salted caramel ice cream sandwich it was so good. Staff recommend the combo and boy it was a hit. The portions are quite large perfect for sharing if you want I didnt want to though was to good.

I came when the sugar cookies were coming out of the oven ! Fresh and delicious. However, I also purchased a vegan chocolate chip cookie and it was very hard. When I asked the rep to put it back in the oven for a couple of seconds, she denied my request and said it would only make the cookie harder.I wish she had offered me a different cookie.

The workers in the Penn Ave location were fun. The product is awesome. Senator Harris gave them to my division as a gift for the holidays and they were so good I bought cookies for all my neighbors(the ones I like lol). The workers in the Pennsylvania location are hard workers, hope theyre getting paid well. They made my experience great.

If I could click 3.5 stars, I would. We tried regular chocolate chip and double chocolate chip cookies along with a cookie ice cream sandwich. We arrived around 11am, so the cookies should be super fresh. I was hoping for warm and slightly gooey but that’s just how I like my cookies. Nice people working there, nothing extra, just cookies. But then there are times (specifically 3-5pm) that you get a cold why-did-I-pay-for-this? Sometimes, the dough isnt mixed well enough, and there are pockets of flour or salt which can be off-putting.That being said, when you get a good batch of fresh cookies, they make up for all the times you didnt :)The ice cream is also super rich and creamy, so if youre not a fan, stick with the cookies. Ive had the ice cream sandwich once, and its pretty standard-- nothing to write home about. FYI you will need a spoon to eat it.

The recipient of the cookie order loved the cookies. Lots of variety and packages to choose from. The day they were delivered, Captain Cookie was very busy, but they were very communicative of the timing with me. When there was an issue with the processing of my order, the staff and owner were responsive and diligent in getting the issue resolved timely. Great service and a great product!

I know there are many, many, MANY amazing things to get excited about on a family vacation to Washington, DC. Having said that, my three cookies and fresh 2% milk from Captain Cookie & the Milk Man was my favorite thing in Washington. I wont apologize for loving cookies more than our nations history. Love love love Captain Cookie! Been going there for year. $5 gets you a giant ice cream sandwich with whatever 2 cookies you want to make the sandwich. Totally worth it. They rotate a variety of interesting ice cream flavors and cookies. The atmosphere of the place is great too, they have a (small but) very cool seating section above the shop. They’re always blasting great music too, I’ve sat there for hours with friends talking and just enjoying the music & sweets. Only complaint is that sometimes the cookies are inconsistent, some days they’re crunchy, other days they’re soft and gooey. They’re great either way though.

The best place in DC - by far - to get your ice cream sandwich and cookies fix. Each cookie is baked to perfection; every bite tastes heavenly. Service is both incredibly efficient (theres almost never a line) and polite. My favorite cookie are the snicker doodles - each bite is crisp and tasteful.

A decent mobile shop that offers a variety of ice cream flavors and cookies. However last week when I passed by the shop the server was so rude to me. They should really work on good customer service. All in all their ice cream is really good.

Not that good. Ordered them through Grubhub one late night excited to try it out for the first time and I was petty disappointed.
