I had been in search of a mechanic who I could trust after over a year of the passing of a family friend who was my mechanic since I had been 16 (Im now 32). I did not want to take my car to the dealer to be serviced and did not want to get overcharged. I also wanted to find someone who was thorough, personable, and kind. Gary was exactly what I was looking for. After taking my car to another mechanic last summer, I was told that my car was in need of a new air compressor. I could not afford this at the time, so I went all summer without my air conditioning in my car. I also did not have a good feeling about this mechanic, so I never went back.After receiving a recommendation from a coworker, I spoke with Gary over the phone and instantly had a good feeling about him when he began explaining to me what could possibly be wrong with my car and how he would run specific tests to get to the bottom of it. He even fit me into his schedule that day to take a look and told me what the problem was, which was not the air compressor, but the air condenser-- good thing I did not take my car back to the last mechanic. Anyway, Gary got my car fixed that week, and I could not be more thrilled with his thorough diagnostics, professionalism, and kind and personable demeanor. I finally have a working air conditioner in my car and its all thanks to Gary and his team. Thank you, guys. You have earned a returning costumer who would recommend you to anyone who is in search of a knowledgeable mechanic who they can trust.

I had the best experience with Gary and his shop. The price and quality of the body work he did on my Jeep Grand Cherokee was better than I could have asked for. I will absolutely be coming back for any future body work/mechanic work and will absolutely be recommending to everyone I know! The turn around time was quick as well. They have a cute dog walking around the shop too. :)

Running a REAL “Good old Hometown” Body Shop, owner Gary really cares about his customers as people and is very helpful! They offer friendly and quick service, and take pride in their work!! The work they have done on my car has been awesome, and i was not only satisfied, but very impressed!!

These guys were so helpful over the phone. He explained exactly what I needed to do that I didnt even have to spend money I could do it myself. I will definitely be going here for any maintenance I need on my car

Fixed up 2016 Dodge Dart excellently. They kept me updated on any extra repairs and treated me like family. I would highly recommend family and friends to this company. However his comments about his experience with Gary, at South side has in my opinion left much to be desired. I had sold to Isa and his friend Cort the vehicle in question. The vehicle was a 1970 (47 years old). Pending repairs a freak accident occurred. Still, They wanted the auto and was sold to them for salvage value and parts for the rear wheel brake assembly. I recommended Grays Southside body shop as my experience over the years has been excellent. They claim in their review the car was in a small accident, well, the insurance company totaled the vehicle. Also, securing parts is going to take much longer for a 47 year auto than a conventional vehicle especially if the parts do not fit.Also, the door lock worked for me. My experience with Gray and his Team over the years has been excellent!!

Simple, car was in a small accident by original owner. The owner had worked with Gary @ SS Auto Body and had suggested that he works on the car in Vine Land. We met and I assumed the car was in good hands. This is why mechanics are called every name in the book because of creeps like this. We paid and drove it back. The car lock didnt work, the battery went dead, the ignitor was faulty, and the exhaust pipe was cracked due to the accident. I also forgot that the rear support bar for the interior trunk was never taken care of as well. He basically cheaply spray painted the car and stuck whatever works on the car for 3K.

They do great body work. Take it from a mom with a teenage boy!
