Im impressed! I live over on the west side of Tucson and took my bike into them (40 minute drive) for a tune up since take appointments. Many other shops just want you to drop it off for a week or two. So I made an appointment to bring it in Thursday afternoon and it was ready to pick up Friday. The mechanic replaced most if not all of the cables on this 10-year-old bike and adjusted everything. Shifts perfectly. The price was less than the estimate! Nice shop.

Sabino shop had me sorted out first thing on a Sunday morning! Thank you! And Stacy, shes a 20! Went back today for no reason really, and she remembered my name. Thats what customer service is! Boom! Mike and Margarita are the BOMB. They fully convinced me to get an awesome bike, BUT the difference is... They cared about my money. Gave me tons of information on how to keep your bike safe and maintained well, and to register your bike with your insurance and city in case it gets lost or stolen. On top of that, they helped me find a bike rack on REI, one compatible for my car, and I saved $500 alone on that. Super friendly. 10/10 recommend for sure...

I cant heap enough praise on Sabino Cycles in general and David (the bike fitting guru) in particular. We have a tandem and my wife has had seat comfort issues since we met 17 years ago. We have tried different seats and fittings to no avail; she couldnt ride for three or four days after a 15-mile ride due to the pain caused by her seat. She became reluctant to ride at all. Then we met David at Sabino Cycles. He worked his magic and fitted my wife to our tandem perfectly; he even recommended a specific seat. He adjusted the seat position, height and angle to the frame. He measured her knee positions relative to her pedal and made a series of adjustments. The result; no pain!! We rode for 35 miles and she had no issues at all with the seat; we could ride the next day. This (for us) is unbelievable; no pain after fighting with this issue for years. I highly recommend that you contact David at Sabino Cycles for a bike fitting if you are having any issues at all.

I took my bike in to get the front derailer adjusted after I couldnt get it to shift down to the first gear. The first time they gave me back my bike to where it would barely adjust down to 1, however after a week of riding it the chain jumped off during a hill climb & after that it refused to shift into the first gear. I took it back & they then decided the whole front derailer needed to be replaced. Fine. However they discovered a small lever close to that derailer that needed to be replaced as well & told me it would take a week. They gave me back my bike & I can no longer shift between the 3rd & 2nd gears, which would have been fine for a week. But now they say they wont have the necessary part for 2 more months. I wish I would have just replaced the bike rather than spending so much money on repairs & waiting so long, I use it every day & spent more than half the original cost of the bike trying to get it to feel like new

I barely ever leave reviews but Sabino was awesome. I havent tried every shop in the Tucson area but I was feeling pretty desperate in my search for new road shoes. By sheer luck, I ended up working with Jason at Sabino to find a good pair of road shoes. He took considerable time and care to help me find what I needed and even really reframed how I think about fitting cycling shoes. Since I have gone back for unrelated small parts since, I have always been impressed with the Sabino team. I highly recommend this shop.

What ever you do, DO NOT buy the self sealing Specialized inner tubes this shop sells. They are total rubbish. A salesman convinced me to buy two of them and they cost me a days ride and an Uber ride home. I returned to tell them about my experience and they said it was my fault how I installed them. Ive installed well over 50 inner tubes and never had any issues.I wont be returning to Sabino Bikes. Plenty of other good bikes shops in town.

We’re in Tucson ~2 months each year. After returning from a hike, we decided to drop in to see if they had any hybrid bikes in our price range.A young, taller guy asked if he could help.We explained what we were looking for and our price range of around $500 each, as we didn’t live in the area and only need for casual use.He seemed well versed in what he was saying, but apparently any bike we were to buy from him was going to be at least $700.That’s OK. No problem. If that’s their minimum price point, I get it.I asked if I could please use a washroom before maybe looking around before finally deciding. He said they have no public restroom. That’s OK too. (We own a retail shop and due to COVID, our washroom is also temporarily closed to the public)I asked if he knew of a facility close I might be able to use.His reply was “I don’t”, and turned away from us.When we walked out, there was a Dunkin’ Doughnuts and several restaurants ~ 30’ away.I guess if the salespeople there feel they’re not going to get an instant big sale, they don’t feel the need to be respectful.

Was initially planning to go just to compare what a decent bike at a local shop would go for and to see if they would be able to tune up a cheaper department store bike I was eyeing, but it turned out they had some really nice bikes at just barely my upper limit. Along with the knowledgeable advice & tune-up, they were friendly, allowed me to ride multiple bikes, even the electric ones even though they knew I had no intention of spending that much. It was a blast, and I was happy to give them my business. I love this bike.

Review №33

Wasnt too impressed with their customer service, spent $115 for a tune up plus $85 for riding bib. Wanted the basic spokes and derailer tighten/adjusted Im not too sure but I dropped it off fresh off a trail so covered in dust and got it back still covered in dust and it seemed like it wasnt even touched, dust wasnt even disturbed. Both tires had 10psi missing the valve caps, asked for them back their response was they are unnecessary? Mentioned my brakes being soft nothing was reported back and they still feel the same. When I picked up the bike they yelled in the back for a Roscoe and I ride a Stache, kinda was said in a condescending tone. Maybe just technicality because they sell Specialized so I guess I should stick to a Trek shop. But I definitely didnt feel like a customer but more like an inconvenience. My normal shop had a 2 week turn around so maybe I should have just waited for them? At least they wash the bike with an $80 tune up to make me feel like they did something. My advice treat your customers like they are premium if youre charging premium price tags. I will not return to this shop.

I had a failure in the rear shifter and left it for repairs. Picked it up and took it home got 100 feet befoe a repeat failure so back to the shop. Further examination by Clayton showed the problem to be two fold. When I had the rear cassette changed to one that would give me lower gears the shifter wasnt quite the right one and the installed chain was longer than normal to make it work. That had worked fine for me so he put on a longer chain. Plus with that situation I had developed some poor shifting habits. Not only did he make it work but he took the time to explain to me in detail everything so I have more information to base future decisions on. That was great. Although the extra time gave me time to browse their e-bikes. Very nice.

I am so impressed with this small cycle business. I went in just to get a tube replaced, and the helpful people in the service department told me that I needed a new tire so they were able to give me a new tire and a new tube for a really inexpensive price. The most amazing thing though, is that I was struggling to put my bike away in my car, and the owner top me how to take my front wheel off and make my bike more mobile for transportation. She did not have to teach me how to do that, but out of the kindness of her heart and support of her business, she helped me out and gave me a free lesson. What a shining example of how a small business should be run, I recommend to everyone!

I was in a tizzy today (Sunday of a holiday weekend) trying to get my touring bike disassembled and packed for flying, having ended up beyond my pay grade with respect to the rear derailleur and brake rotors. Casey was wonderful and patient and helped me assure myself that I will be able to take it apart, re-assemble it overseas and then reverse the process to come home. Its going to be worth the commute from now on. Thank you, Casey. #favoriteLBS

Ive been riding for a few years now, and have been to several shops in town. Sabino Cycles is the first shop to take the time to explain things to me, and gain my trust. They make the best recommendation for you, based on what your needs are and not based on what they want to sell you. Chris Stringer in the shop always takes the time to go over what he did to my bike and answer any maintenance questions I might have. Steve, the owner, is very helpful and has worked me in to their schedule on occasion when I had a race coming up and a minor issue with the bike that needed to be looked at quickly. Everyone is super friendly and informational. They have a good supply of specialized and high end items that you could want as well. I always feel comfortable leaving my bike there and feel like when I leave, I know they will stand behind their work. Its a great shop, with great people and Id recommend them to anyone that loves their bike and wants to know its in good hands.

I was left with the impression that I was going to have to be firm in what I wanted and that the owner knew better than me as to what was best for me . I returned in a week and asked that a different stem be installed. It was and when I went to pick it up I was told that I had to pay for the new stem. When I protested the owner said that if I had paid $150 for a bike fitting I wouldnt have to pay for the new stem. Started riding year and half ago and bought two bikes with them a Giant Defy 3 and wifes Specialized Vita. Not sure which shop to go to, but I am done with this one. They are capable of being a good shop but they lack in the details. Supposed to have free tune ups and warranty on bike. I have had my bike in there multiple times and always a little something that happens. First tune up came back without my valve caps. (I know they are not needed, but I liked them) Second tune up came back without the nut that holds the threaded stem. Being a new rider I thought nothing of it and found out the hard way it causes flats! Got a few items along the way (I like to try different gels and stuff). Once home found that my Solids was missing a couple tablets. When they adjust brakes they are touching wheels. One of the wheel fixes they said come back in hour and it will be done. Come back 2 hours later and wheel still sitting not even an apology. THREE! separate occasions my spoke has lost its nipple and they fix it for me but then charge me for new spoke and nipple. If they were properly tuning my bike the wheels would be true and no spoke nipple issues. This wheel issue is the only time I really complained about. Supposedly they talked to Giant and gave option to fully replace wheels or upgrade for $115 for $350 wheels. They said the 115 is a really good deal and should take it. They call when wheels come in and then they say its 115 but an additional 30 for their services to replace tire and adjust derailleur. Called me multiple times to replace tire and I am ignoring. Really small stuff, but just kinda done with it. They can take the wheel they misquoted price on and shove it. The straw that broke the Camels back.
