So glad I used Ricks services on a recent pickup replacement and set up. He went above and beyond, recommending a custom pickup maker and working with me and the pickup guy to get the specs just right. The results were spectacular and changed a guitar I thought I was going to have to sell at a loss into an instrument that brought tears to my eyes when I plugged it in and cranked it up. Not only knowledgeable and skilled, Ricks just a super guy as well, a real Eugene vibe, friendly, honest and cool. Ive been a professional musician for decades, been through a lot of techs, Rick is among the very best and his prices are beyond fair. Highly recommend.

Fantastic experience working with Rick. Friendly, knowledgeable, timely and professional. Hes taken cheap acoustic and electric guitars Ive had and improved them in almost every conceivable way. I trust him with my wifes bass guitars too and friends like a mandolin or even banjos. Hes even patient enough to work on Floyd Rose and Jazzmaster vibrato systems. Highly recommended whether you are a beginner or advanced player. Fantastic value for the money.

Rick has done set ups on both a Fender Strat and a Kentucky Mandolin for me. His work was outstanding, I dont know how the mandolin could possibly play that easy. the Strat also plays great, I wouldnt let anyone else touch it.Rick was on time, on the money and great to work with!

Job well done. I had a re-string/setup done on my 7-string Floyd. Rick was very knowledgeable and very interested in specifics as to my particular needs. It was about a month out for it to be done, but there was good communication and the result was worth the wait. Thanks Rick!

Rick does Great work and is so professional and a really nice guy to boot... Check out my rare Fender Precision Junior bass he outfitted with Bill Lawrence pickups, Gotoh bridge and hand made tortoise-shell pickguard to replace the cracked white one that was on it. Excellent! First of all rick kneale came highly recommended from several sources here in the greater Eugene area.second rick was prompt in returning my call inquiry.when i was running late i called him and he was polite and understanding. When i went to see him he greeted me without attitude ago straightforward honest and to the point.looking around his workspace it was neat clean and organized.i can appreciate this.his price points for repairs on a couple of acoustic guitars was fair for the going rate around here .being that there are only a hand few who do this work around here. His place can be seen from the street .parking free his space is also wheelchair friendly!!!good luck hrs a very good man.

Re-glued the bridge on my acoustic, took two weeks but it sounds AMAZING. He does excellent work for a great price; he takes his time and is in demand so you have to wait a bit. Totally worth it, glad I chose R. Kneale.

Absolutely love working with Rick, hes extremely friendly, knowledgeable, and professional. Every time I go to drop off or pick up I learn something from him. Hes taken mediocre guitars Ive had and made then much more playable. He also repaired my main guitar after it was damaged, and did such a fine job you cant even see where he did the repair. I highly recommend Ricks services to everyone. Truly a craftsman.

Rick Kneale has worked on two of my guitars, one acoustic and one electric with a Floyd Rose and he returned them in way better playing condition than when I gave them to him. The price was way lower than I expected and he even cleaned them!!! I highly recommend his expertise and experience.

Trusted Rick with my 1954 Gibson ES175 for a new nut and a re-fret. What I received for a very reasonable price was top quality workmanship. My Gibby Opal now plays and sounds a couple thousand bucks better. I could not be any happier and he is a heck of a regular guy to boot. Ricks prices are half of what you would pay at a big name luthier shop in LA or New York, but his craft is as well honed as any. Nice dog, too.

Rick did a great job on my 30 year old Fender Strat. It needed the pickup selector replacing, so I asked Rick to do that and give the guitar a good set up at the same time. Rick came across as very knowledgeable and asked a number of questions about how I played the guitar, so he could make sure he got the action and trem set right. He did a great job on the set up and its beautifully playable now, and he did it promptly and for a great price!

I brought Rick a recently discovered pre-war Dobro resonator that I found in Grants Pass to have serviced. It had warped and de-laminated in some areas and needed a new nut, tailpiece, bridge and resonator cone. He did the body repairs and set it up to play standard tuning and it sounds beautiful. Rick is a great guy, superb craftsman and knowledgeable builder. He will be my go to for all of my guitars from now on.

There isnt anyone else I would trust to repair my Martin and Taylor guitars. Rick is highly skilled and so knowledgable about guitars of every make and model. I entrusted him with restoring my rare Mosrite acoustic guitar that had been through several hurricanes and 40 years of handling while owned by a friend. He masterfully refretted the instrument and restored damaged bracing to bring it back to structural integrity and great sound. His prices are quite reasonable and hes a darn nice fella taboot. Im a professional player and recommend Rick Kneale without reservation.
