Had a great experience renting U-Haul from 1st Ave Storage. Would recommend!

Im not big into writing reviews, but came here just to make sure everyone knows how awesome this place is, which is such a funny thing to say about a storage facility. The renting process was incredibly easy, and the follow-ups and contacts were concise, polite and exactly what you didnt know you needed. Actual move in was a breeze, including that they set up autopay on the spot for you. My previous storage places have nickel and dimed me to death, here, everything was incredibly strait forward and stress free. Then we had the mover move in all our belongings they (or movers) ended up very behind and we rushing to get everything in before closing, but the gentleman was so kind, saying no big deal and he didnt kind giving us a couple extra minutes to get everything in. So kind when you are trying to close on a holiday weekend! So, if you are looking for storage, this is the place.

Have rented here several times. Have never had any issues.

Made my move easy! On a day I was otherwise dreading this was an easy start and end to my day. Front desk staff were very helpful getting me set-up. Return was simple and fast.

This place is owned and run by 2 great people, who truly care about helping people and providing first class customer service.

I previously posted a review concerning an interaction with an employee at this facility that was not flattering. I also talked with management about this. My concerns were received well and there was an appropriate response. I really appreciate the fact that I was heard. The manager was pleasant and listened to my concerns. Thank you.I will continually to use this facility. It is clean, convenient, and well priced. The security is great and there are plenty of dolly’s and platforms to make transfers very easy.

This is a first-class storage facility owned by a small businessman.Ive had space here for eight years and all the staff are wonderful folks.

I’ve rented uhauls from this location a couple times, and both times the staff was very friendly and helpful, super easy experience.

The only thing is,they close at 6pm.

Went to rent a U-HAUL truck here. While the staff on duty was nice, the facilities were obviously not stocked properly to handle U-Haul rentals. The mirror on the truck was completely busted on the drivers side door. The truck was dirty in the cabin and another user left moving blankets.

I had an excellent customer experience here as someone doing a local move. Extremely helpful and friendly staff who were very accommodating when I needed to extend my vehicle reservation for a few extra hours last-minute. Plus clean restrooms too!

I had the best experience with 1st Ave Self Storage. Pricing was very competitive and their response to anything I emailed about was terrific. Erik at the desk went out of his way to help me with anything that came up. The location is convenient, parking is easy, everything is clean and felt very safe... really I cant say enough good things. I would definitely recommend them.

Amazing customer service! They made my U-haul rental a breeze, the truck was clean and ready to go when i arrived and provided me with the perfect storage unit to fit my needs at very reasonable price. As a bonus they also have a retail space built inside. I was able to buy boxes and tape and packing materials which saved me so much time and energy (that alone is priceless after moving across the country and dealing with all the headaches involved with that process) I would HIGHLY recommend this place to anybody who needs a rental truck or storage space or shipping materials Especially if you need all 3!

On 9/23, my wife and I reserved a 26 Uhaul for an upcoming cross-country move on 9/28. We made arrangements with family to fly from the east coast to Seattle, and hired a moving company to load the truck. On 9/27 at 10:30pm EST, after I had already relocated for my job, I receive a phone call from Uhaul saying there is no 26 truck available in the area. This put my family in an unimaginable bind, forcing us to find a company willing to do the entire move as there were no trucks available with any company in the size we needed. This ended up costing us upwards of $10,000 more than we had arranged with the self-move. There was no apology, no compensation, nothing. Will be moving forward with legal action.

I came here because it was on July 4th and it was only place open besides U-haul Rainier location. I first went to U-haul Rainier since it was closer, but I wasted 45 minutes waiting for the clerk to punch in my information, but he didnt know how to do it. So I left and found 1st Ave Self Storage, and was so thankful that they existed. The lady working there got me a storage in 5min! Shes my hero! Thank you guys!

Location is everything. And this place has it. Great staff , plus they are an affiliated U-Haul dealership.

(Attempted to use UHaul Summer 2018)Easily the worst customer service in Seattle. Reserved well in advance, arrived to hear last van had already been rented out and with blunt “you picked a bad time to move..” Really? No apology in any way/shape/form. I have no idea where the plaques of business excellence came from? Did not see any excellence here... Also funny how “this situation happens all the time” means UHaul cleans up $$ on late delivery fees yet passes along the inconvenience to their customers, along with a strong sense of indifference. Ended up stressed & scrambling at the very last minute to find ANY other means of transporting our belongings that day. Am actively recommending friends&family to NOT use UHaul and will continue to do so.

Great uhaul connection. Great selection on many different size storage units, they offer free use of 2 big size flat carts and two medium size carts , and a very strong durable dolley. Great security plus 24/7 in house cameras and outside cameras. Staff is friendly and attentive to your individual needs. Great location within the SODO district on 1st Avenue South and South Stacy Street.

I wish they were open later and they are somewhat pricey but they are VERY secure because they have extra alarms and an individual pin code to get in. Our stuff is very safe here and the staff is very nice.

U-Haul at 1st ave self storage is the best
