I went in to get a ball mount for a trailer I just bought, so I can tow the trailer home. I didnt know exactly what size I needed. The mechanic took a look at my car, the hitch thats on there, asked me some questions, then recommended a ball mount that had to have the ball turned around, which he did. It was definitely a little more complicated. And you know what--he was right! Without seeing the trailer, he recommended a ball mount that worked perfectly. The store staff were also very helpful in getting the ball mount processed and helping me figure out what else I needed.

Picked up a uhaul here last Saturday and it took them 45 minutes to get me my uhaul. I was going to do the online check in, but needed to rent a dolly and so I went inside to get both.After the girl figured out why the truck I reserved was not popping up, and finally trouble shooted, she said the tank had 1/4 on it and I would need to return it with that. I was a little frustrated that it had only 1/4 because after I loaded my stuff up, I would have to fill it up before heading to my destination. Not a huge issue, but a slight inconvenience now that I was on a time crunch.There were a ton of uhauls in the front, but I had to go all the way to the back to get my uhaul. Which again was not the worst, but with a lot full of uhauls, why not either give me one in the front, or bring my truck around.Anyways, I get into the uhaul and the tank was so empty that the light was on and I feared I would run out of gas on the way to the gas station. I mean the gas gauge needle was below the E on the gauge.I also had a pop up on the dash about the tire pressure being low on one of the tires, which not only increased the risk for a tire popping and me needing roadside assistance, but decreased the already terrible gas mileage these trucks get.I have had great experiences with uhaul but this particular experience was really unfortunate and kind of disappointing.

Ive used a few other rental places and this place has the best prices and most convenient location. The staff has always been helpful, especially the manager. Renting is easy and they always have a truck available. They make it easy to run my business. Thanks, UHAUL!

Though on me for not checking, these guys were able to support and get us something missed on the reservation. Staff was helpful and calm throughout. Definitely set up your order online if possible.

Hi - I wanted to pass along some feedback on the manager of the local U-Haul that Ive used a lot recently. The managers name is James. He has been PHENOMENAL in helping me and other customers. Ive had several interactions with him regarding my storage unit, purchasing supplies, renting equipment and even having a hitch installed. Each time, hes been great. Ive also witnessed how he interacts with other customers. Always polite and always professional, with a smile.

Paid for a tow hitch installation and as I pulled into the lot for my appointment, they called to cancel (said someone called in sick). I asked for a refund, but they convinced me to reschedule....two weeks later. Showed up for round two-- and upon entering they immediately said that they were way back upped up and jumped at the opportunity to finally refund me. Wildly unprofessional location.

This place is a joke. the employees hate working there. their customer service is the worst. I would gladly go to a uhaul twice as far away as this one than ever go back. very unprofessional place to do business.

Good service but super busy on the weekends, be prepared to wait awhile. Even better try to go during the week.

Had a wonderful experience here. Self-pickup for a van wasn’t working for me. An employee named Andy noticed and hustled to get me inside and checked out. When I returned, Andy again greeted me and make returning the van a breeze.

Avoid at all COST! If I could give a negative rating I would. Should up at 845 for 900 opening. Guy with key no showed. An employee haphazardly helped random people in parking lot but did not tell us what was going on and could not predict when help arrived. 9 other people where stranded with reservations in the parking lot. Ive had at least 2 other similar experiences at this location. Terrible terrible terrible...

James is the best. There was a mistake with our reservation that caused a lot of inconvenience but he did everything he could to make it right. I appreciate you James, you are an asset to U-Haul and they are lucky to have you! Thank you.

If you have a foreign vehicle to get a hitch installation, don’t come here. Poor service and messed up my vehicle electric locks. They don’t honor appointment times so plan ahead to stay longer or wait.

They were very accommodating when my reservation didnt go as expected. They were professional.

Not sure what the point is for making reservations if they are not going to honor them anyways. I made a reservation for a trailer a week out and at the last second they changed my reservation to another location 6 miles away in Ballard. Due to the bridge being closed what should have been an easy pick up for my reserved trailer turned into a 3 hour ordeal and delayed my packing day. If I’m going to drop close to $900 dollars and make a reservation I expected them to keep their appointment. The scheduling manager didn’t seam to care at all and didn’t apologize. I would avoid this location.

I took my vehicle here to get a hitch installed. The price was right. I had to go in to buy the hitch, then make an appointment for the installation. The installation took much longer than anticipated. I would recommend trying for an early appointment.

Don’t bother going here for propane. On Friday, they told us they didn’t have any propane. Sunday, when their phone kept rolling over to the corporate offices, we were assured that they did, indeed, have propane. When we got there, we were informed that, while they did have propane, there was no one available who was certified to dispense it. We were instructed to come back on Monday, when there would absolutely be propane available and a certified individual to dispense it. When we drove out there (again) on Monday, the problem was that the pump was broken... At no time were we able to reach this store by phone. There are plenty of places who have propane, working pumps, and certified folks to dispense it.

Been using uhaul for many years now and this place has very poor customer service. There employees need to be trained better on policy and procedures. What was quoted at $530 we were charged 1180.00 pending refund😡 don’t ever use this place go to uhaul Renton on Rainer. Now we have to call the 1800 number and wait 3 to 5 business days to get our refund. And all the employees were on there phone being bothered with customers 😡😡😡 terrible service!!!!!!’

Planning for a move of furniture from Spokane to Seattle, I stopped at this location to get information on rentals. The two young men at the counter were very rude, mumbling that they couldnt help me. I explained that I was gathering information for a future rental and after coaxing, was handed a sheet of paper with contact information for customer service. There was no offer to help me, no thank you. I left feeling as if there was no interest in my business or even in simple courtesy. As a result, instead of using this most convenient location to rent a cargo van, I went online and found two less expensive options nearby. Wont be going back.

Rented a full car trailer; $60 for the day. pretty stoked on the price. no issues with the trailer and the general manager was pretty helpful given how busy they were when i came to pick it up. will be using them again when i take my car to the track

The staff is very rude! And after storing my things there for two months, everything I own including my new mattress smells horribly of cigarette smoke so bad it stunk up my new house! The security alarms have been broken the entire time. There is only one cart for moving things. No where to park. I was told that I can access my unit during business hours, until I showed up 1 hour before closing and was told that it was now closed an hour before closing. I had to leave my car full of expensive things parked on the street that night! And got lots of attitude from the purple haired girl for calling her out about it! It sucks to pay to have your things ruined!

UPDATE: I reached out to corporate after this happened. Didnt hear a word back. Nothing from this trashy location either. DO NOT USE THIS ONE, there are plenty more truck rental places in the area!Would give no stars if possible. Rented a truck for a few hours, turns out it had NO parking brake release lever. After waiting 2 hours for someone to come rescue us we were so behind we barely got half of what we needed the truck for finished. When I told the people at Uhaul they didnt even apologize and looked at me like I was stupid. There are better truck rental places, do NOT use this one.

We had to rent at U-Haul twice this week. Both times, they called us the day before to inform us that the size of U-Haul wasnt available at the location we reserved it at and we had to drive 45 minutes one way just to get it at a different location. This was very stressful on top of trying to move, to have to drive almost 2 hours round trip just to pick up the U-Haul. Why would they have you reserve it at a certain location if it isnt going to be available? THIS HAPPENED 2 TIMES TO US IN 1 WEEK!!! So frustrating!!!!! They get two stars instead of one because they gave us a slight discount for the inconvenience. Grrrr!!!! Rent from another company!!

Don’t bother getting a hitch here! They canceled my appointment and made another appointment for 10 AM. Told me it would take two hours. At 12:15, when I came back, they had not even started it! It is now 2 o’clock and I have no idea when it’s going to finally be finished. If I have been told the truth from the start I would’ve gone someplace else or made other arrangements so I would not be waiting around all day!! At no time, did they tell me that it could take all day to install it and that they would eventually call me when it was done. Do not use this U-Haul for propane or getting a hitch installed. I am now worried it will be the wrong hitch and installed improperly!!! Oh yes, there is no manager here to talk to you.

Please stop pretending to offer propane fills. You make customers wait 30+ min for a mystery fill man and close the station at random times and workers have poor attitudes when approached. Its worth spending the extra $20 to do an exchange.

The staff here are completely incompetent, rude, and unprofessional. If a customer has a legitimate question, it is not appropriate to take on a condescending tone and completely ignore the question/concern, nor hang up on them. Please invest in proper customer service training for your employees.

Cheap truck rental for moving. My queen bed fit into the cargo van no problem. The staff are nice, but every time I go there, its a long wait. I did a move in town then went to the dump in a cargo van, and my entire bill was $32.

My friends are moving in to Seattle and ask assistance with this company. To their surprise, this company left them in the air. They have to do the moving on their own since it is too late to look for a replacement. This is not a good service at all.

I can never be thankful enough for all the help manager have given me when I had trouble unloading my shipping container. Without his help and support, I would not know what to do. The team was friendly and so nice. Thank you very much.

Don’t use this place!!! My husband reserved a 15ft truck a week before we needed it. He got a call at 1 pm the day before we move to be told they only have a 10 foot and we would have to go to Renton. You don’t wait to tell a customer this a the day before!!!Ridiculous

Staff did not clearly explain the after-hours drop off procedure. I dropped my keys into the drop box not realizing I would have to take a photo of the dashboard before I could complete check in on my phone. The Uhaul rep at their call center said it happens all the time, and its not a big problem. Id have to sort it out with the locations I rented from. However, this Uhaul store insisted on charging me a $20 fee over it. I went in when they opened and tried to speak with someone, going well out of my way to set it right, and they basically told me tough luck and took my money.Ive been a loyal Uhaul customer for years, including rental trucks and storage units, but this will be my last time using Uhaul.

Just wanted to give a shout out to the best UHAUL worker at the West Seattle location. Purcell Muhammad was super friendly, attentive and helpful when I came in to rent a Box Truck. If you are ever renting from this location ask for Purcell becasue he is the best.

Terrible results. Had a hitch and trailer light controller installed and had nothing but problems since. Electrical system caught on fire. Rattle under the car never went away. Went back numerous times but never fixed. Care finally caught fire and ruined the electrical component. Filed an official complaint and they never called back. Just wanted the issue fixed prior to leaving for vacation. Terrible experience.

Stopped by earlier today to ask about adding hitches to both our SUVs. Drove onto the lot and was immediately yelled at by any employee as we parked in the wrong space. I’m sure we did, but reading a customer the riot act was completely unacceptable. I guess you don’t want my business! Oh well, lots of other nice businesses in the area who will help.

The night shift probably has sone of the rudest people working I met I understand I was late came in at 6:46 an they already had the systems closed for renting a strorage unit an the so called manager was rudely talking to me while on a personal call on his cell phone an when I trued to talk to him he abruptly leaves to the back while still on his call all I needed was to rent a storage locker real quick an I would have been done.Both the employee an the manager showed me very poor costumer service.Not even willing to help or proporly explain anything to me.All the employee said was well thats my manager so I cant do anything in a very rude manner an then asks why cant I do it in the morning after fully explaining to them that I was moveing from mill creek an came from there to seattle so now I have to have the rental truck for longer.I honestly dont have many problems with people I understand that they where closeing within 15 mins but the way they handendled it an they way They spoke to me was very unprofessional.

DONT EVER RENT A STORAGE UNIT HERE. I paid for storage on 2 units and emptied out the first unit five days earlyThe second unit was emptied out just 5 days after I paid for the next month. I called to see if that one could be prorated sincethere were 24 days left and was told no but that they had closed it out and they could now rent it to someone else.I am a senior on limited income and I think this is a really bad policy of uhaul. I paid $259 for both storage units the first month. I had used a private storage facility previously and they prorated it. Also we had attempted to rent a uhaul truck there in May and when I went to pick the truck up the engine light came on. I was told it was no big deal. I decided not to rent the truck. I guess that should have been my warning.

Bad Experience! I reserved a pick-up truck one week in advance and when I arrived, I was told there wasnt a truck available. Instead, I was given two options: 1) take a 10 household moving truck or, 2) drive from West Seattle to the UHaul location on MLK Jr. Way S. Neither option was workable for me given time constraints and what I needed to move. I even asked if a truck could be brought to the West Seattle location - no dice. Whats the point of making a reservation? I will never work with this location again!!

I just went there today to ask about a hitch for my suv, the girl at the register was new and didnt know much but she did her best and when stuck got a hold of a more experienced sales member. Both smiled and gave me the information I wanted without attitude or guff. I left feeling positive. I dont know that I am going to do business there but if I do I will post an update.

The owner is an angry person who delivers horrible service. I have used this location 6 times and I am done. The owner tried to overcharge me and would not even consider the fact that he might be wrong (which he was). Go somewhere else, this guy does not deserve your money!

Shredrick at this location was helpful and fun! He checked my uhaul back in after I was finished and saved me the $100 charge for drywall dust cleaning by recommending I go to the carwash down the street and wash it out for $5 instead!Its nice to meet nice people - Shredrick was nice! (:

I had a really great experience here returning a trailer one way from a cross country trip really late in the day and arranging storage for a few things.

I read some pretty bad reviews but they are right near me so i called anyway. I had no problem. Picked up phone first ring. Booked a truck and was ready in 5 minutes.

Went there yesterday to rent a trailer and truck. Spoke with a girl name Maddison .She was visibly high on something .Could not keep herself together while trying to do her job .She was in her non work clothes .Because You could tell she was high on some harder drugs and her clothing I honestly did not think she was employeed there .Long story short I walked out of there without renting anything because of how her current state was .I will NOT be returning to that Uhaul .Managment needs to address that situation .Not a good representation for Uhaul at all .

STORAGE REVIEW - After using U-Hauls trucks regularly for several years, when I needed a storage unit close to home I decided to go with them. The West Seattle location has access problems due to the way it is designed, but the facility is clean, dry, and well-secured. I figured, since people are pretty accommodating, I could live with having to wait in line to get a truck in and out when I needed to load and unload.But, after 2 rent hikes in less than a year, AND the decision (made by U-Haul International, Inc. policy-makers, per their customer service reps) to permanently chain and padlock all of the big rolling access doors, leaving only one single-wide entry door with an abrupt drop-off (no ramp) through which to move even very large items, that door partially obstructed by several 3ft concrete poles designed to prevent a truck from getting close...I wouldnt recommend this facility to anyone having to store anything larger than a medium sized cardboard box. Certainly if you have to store furniture or your household, this facility is not a good choice due to its extremely limited access.I did call and talk to U-Hauls customer service when I went to move some large items out...they escalated my complaint through two levels of management, with the same response each time. It was a policy decision made by U-Haul for security reasons, theyre sorry, but they will not make any effort to remedy their security problems another way so as to allow their customers ease of access to the storage units.The location is a good one, but for cost, size, and ease of access, there are plenty of better options.

REFUSED to give me any info on what they had available or how much the units rented for until I disclosed the entire contents of the personal belongings I intended to store!! They refused!! Lol. Full of incredulity, I hung up!. . . It is strict policy that any POTENTIAL customer willingly offer FULL disclosed and itemized list of their personal goods requiured. They are quite indignant when I would not give them personal info until and IF I chose to rent with them; otherwise all that info is none of their business. They disagreed vehemently. Lol. They let me hang up rather than give me a quote!! UNbelievable. Truly. Same but different at the last U-Haul I dealt with. This call was IT for me. I will NEVER use U-Haul again.
