I had about 4 desktops, 3 laptops and 2 printers that I needed to get rid of, in addition to some cables, keyboards, mice and other assorted detritus. I was able to get them recycled here with no fuss, no muss, and for a low $10 cost to have them dispose of the things they couldnt recycle. All of this during a pandemic. Highly recommend for any Computer gear you need/want to dispose of.

My daughter and I just returned from a visit to Seattle Laptop and were both very pleased with our experience. Her laptop wasnt charging and she had a ton of homework to do over the weekend. Jaden greeted us very nicely as soon as we entered the shop, did a thorough diagnostic exam of all the possible problems and concluded that we had a faulty charging cord. He gave my daughter some pointers on charging and cord care and sent us home with another cord. No charge. I have been using Seattle Laptop for years, and have always had a good experience, so felt it was time to write a review.

My laptop fan died on a Saturday evening. I was so distraught at the thought of not even being able to have it looked at until Monday. I found this shop on Google and gave him a call. He let me bring it in at 7:30pm. Not only that but it was finished by Monday afternoon, including having to order a part. It was amazing! He says that if you get your laptop wet from a spill he’ll take it as soon as it happens, any time of day, and help you save it from the scrap heap. 100% recommended.

The guy was rude and when I asked if i could see 2 different laptops to compare them before I bought one he said they dont really do that. And that theyre sort staffed. He was unable to show me 2 things in their stock at the same time!!! Id rather spend my money somewhere where the customer service is better.

Great customer service, stayed open a few extra minutes so I could pick up what I wanted. They had it at the counter ready to go. Will definitely return for future needs.

Dan is just great at laptop assessment and ideas for how to keep used laptops performing well. He only repairs what is needed and cost effective. Great ideas for dealing with parts suppliers. If you have problems with Dan, you are the problem. He will only do what he is knowledgeble and skilled at.

I came to get a new laptop charger since my old one unexpectedly had its wiring fray out on me this morning. Once I got there, we realized that my old charger was still working---just needed to have its cord replace, of which the gentleman behind the counter had plenty of spares. All I have to say is Dan has always been so helpful when I’ve needed his help with my MacBook Pros. Ive been going to Seattle laptop repair for the last 3 to 4 years. He’s helped me when my computer would start back up in the past. He got it running perfect after it was fixed. This last time, so freaking helpful. He recovered all my music and transferred it from my internal SSD to a New MacBook Pro I had to purchase on my own. Everything looks identical from the last time I was on my old computer to my new one. I highly recommend this repair shop. One of the best in Seattle, if not the best in Seattle. Thank you Dan.

I called to get help with an issue. My screen and camera were going out. Over the phone, the guy was able to tell me my issue was covered by the manufacturer. He told me to call them direct, and they should fix it for free. Fantastic!I called the manufacturer and they confirmed it was covered. I was directed to a third party to do the fix, but once there, they refused to do the work based on minor surface damage.I called Seattle Laptop back (since they were helpful the first time, thought if I had to pay, I should give them my business). Again, Seattle Laptop gave me some advice to get a second opinion directing me to a more competent third party fix-it place that was more helpful and I could be sure that they would assess the situation correctly.I followed their advice, and I was able to get the screen replaced and fixed at no charge. You guys are honest and helpful. I really appreciate the guidance, and I know when I have a need, Ill call you. THANK YOU.

First time going here, my experience has been that theyre professional and efficient. I took my laptop in for a fan replacement, and it was done earlier than expected, which was awesome! I also keep a piece of tape over my laptop camera unless Im using it (paranoid lol) and they replaced the tape with a little slider that looks and functions wayyyyy better. I didnt even ask for that last part, so it was a nice surprise! They communicated well so I never felt in the dark about the progress of the repair or the price. Totally going back if I need more repairs in the future!

The first time was over 2 years ago. I have been very happy with their work and their customer service!

My son accidentally crashed my laptop to the floor; the screen was cracked and the computer would not start. I took it into Seattle Laptop. The Seattle Laptop adviser was able to help carefully and quickly figure out how to get the computer to start back up ... it was not obvious ... and was direct and clear about possible time and costs to replace the screen. As the screen is working (sort of) enough for now, I said Id defer the screen fix, and asked about charge for the visit. No charge. I would take my business here again.

Went in with a processor that had severely bent pins, Dan fixed it, saving me almost $150 in damages and he installed it onto my motherboard for me all for no charge. I spent only about 20 minutes in there, and I would trust them with my life. They are amazing at what they do and they genuinely care about fixing your computer problems. If you go to any other repair shop you are wasting your time and money. Seattle Laptop is the only place you should ever consider going to.

Im so happy right now!! I bought a sweet macbook pro a couple of weeks ago and yesterday it wouldnt turn on. So I brought it in to these guys this morning and was told theyd let me know in a few days what was wrong. I got a call about an hour ago saying it was all fixed and I could come pick it up. What a relief! I was so worried that I wouldnt have it for my kids online learning or wed be on lock-down and I wouldnt be able to get it for weeks. The folks at Seattle Laptop have geeky super-powers which is great because I have zero geeky powers. I just want it to work -- and they make it work every time. They are so good at what they do, they were even able to help me win a battle with Dell. It was amazing. These guys were awesome! If i could give 6 stars i would. They helped me out a great deal with removing a virus from my computer. They are obviously very knowledgable when it comes to viruses. I 100% recommend that you should go here for any laptop needs!

In Summary: Bait and Switch! Dishonest! DO NOT COME HERE!Longer version: I had my laptop diagnosed at another Mac store, called around and these guys gave me a much better price. (It was installing an SSD 1TB drive.) They said the hard drive and migration of data would be $179. So I happily drove over, but when I dropped it off, they quoted me a higher price. When I explained what I was told on the phone, they made a note and committed to honoring it.When I came to pick it up, they said the computer was still running slow and recommended more RAM. I agreed to the additional $59 for better performance and speed, and came back 3 days later.When I arrived, thats when all the real trouble began. The price shot up another $60 for the data migration, they tried to charge me MORE for the hard drive than even their posted sign stated, they DISREGARDED the previously quoted price, and then nearly didnt give me my deposit back until I fought for it. When I finally got my laptop and equipment back, they played dumb about whether they had transferred data to the hard drive as I had requested. (It was written on the work order and in their computer system!) The hard drive wasnt even open.... they didnt do the work they agreed to!The crowning blow is that my computer doesnt work. Yep, thats right... paid them over $300 and it doesnt even work! It is super slow and Finder keeps crashing, which has never been a problem before.DO NOT GO HERE! Bait and switch tactics, dishonest, expensive, and incompetent!!!

I pulled a stuck key off my older Thinkpad and tried for an hour but couldnt get it back on - the parts are tiny and fiddly and just not easy. They saw me right away near closing time and Dave worked on if for 10 minutes, then got it attached perfectly. When I tried to pay he said not to worry about it, so did me a really nice favor, really fast, for free! Ill definitely be back.

Mike was most helpful and customer service oriented. Because of my experience I have recommended Mike whenever the topic of computers comes up in a conversation. This company was recommended to me via word of mouth which is the best form of marketing. They have maintained a good reputation for being known as an honest company.

My Mac crashed and weirdly enough, so did the external backup! I lost all my information. I took the Mac into them and they were able to salvage my documents, pictures, music and contacts and took the malware off of the HP I brought in for them to show me how to transfer the files from my NEW external hard drive to the HP. Quick, too. Great service for a great price with people who cared that my life--seriously, too lose all your stuff on your computer--was important. I highly recommend them.

I went in to buy a used MacBook Pro due to me accidentally spilling water on my keyboard and seemingly killing the machine. Apple, and 2 other repair places, all said that the repair wasnt worth it, and that itd be more cost-effective to buy another used one. I came in to Seattle Laptop to check out some of their used inventory---they seem to have quite a bit, at very fair prices. One of the employees, Dave, wanted to try powering up my machine before I bought another one. Miraculously, it turned on without a hitch, for the first time in 2 months. He easily could have just sold me another machine without telling me my original one powered up, but his integrity, honesty and desire to help me were above and beyond. They now have my business for life. I highly recommend them.

Really happy with my experience here. I went in with a laptop that had a broken usb port and headphone jack, and was told after a brief inspection that it was likely my motherboard was shifted. I was also immediately told the fees to take a look at the computer, as well as what the repair for the suspected problem would cost. Most importantly, though, I was told that I may find a much cheaper fix to my issue with a $10 part. I thoroughly appreciated the honest service and knowledge on the topic! I will return here if a separate issue presents itself in the future.

Stopped in to see if they sold used/outdated computer components at low cost. The employee who greeted me on entering was able to quickly answer my questions and supply 2 out of the 3 things I was looking for at a basically unbeatable price. The 3rd was priced how Id expected, as its not as commonly recycled. All in all a very successful trip, and I look forward to going in again for future projects.

Excellent establishment. I came in because my recently purchased Lenovo laptop wouldnt start up. After trying several tricks from searching online, I became frustrated and brought my laptop in to Seattle Laptop. It turned out to be a simple solution that I simply was not aware of. There is the tiniest of holes on the bottom of the laptop case. Simply press and hold. Voila! The laptop is reset. No charge. Thank you sirs. I will be a returning customer.

Called em up, explained I needed. He said he had the cord. Went down there and sure enough, it was the right connector! And definitely the right price! Thanks guys, your new customer for life. 9.4.18 addendum: went in again for the other end of the laptop cord (baddog) and that I needed the transformer end this time. Wanted $40 for it, said retail was $50. I left, googled, and had it delivered 2-3 days later for a grand total of $12. I may be a customer for life because I live in the neighborhood but I certainly wont be taken advantage of. The guy even said they get them in all the time. Whatever!

Dropped off a laptop for repair, was given an estimate on time and cost. I was told it would be about a week. 10 days later, I had to call to check on the status of my repair, only be told it was ready.I feel they should have contacted me, not the other way around, when the repair was complete.When I went to pay, I was given an invoice and handed them my card. As they were preparing to swipe my card, they pulled the invoice and added $100 to it. (Going to from $80 after taxes to $185 after taxes.) Honest mistake? Maybe. But it reflects poorly on their attention to detail.The workmanship of the repair itself seems acceptable, I have not had considerable time to evaluate it. Its likely Ill look for a different repair shop in the future. I think they probably do good technical work, but I wasnt thrilled about how they handled the customer service.Also, they put stickers on my stuff. I hate that.

Brought in an ancient PCMCIA SRAM Card and they were incredibly helpful in finding a laptop capable of reading and writing to it. Very knowledgeable staff. They wont try and sell you something if you dont need it and their prices are reasonable. Definitely recommend checking them out.

My Asus Transformer had an SD card stuck in the SD slot, and I could not get it out. These guys knew the tricks of getting the unit apart and were able to open it and extract the stuck SD card.It took them 15 minutes but they didnt charge me anything.If only they had provided a beer while waiting.....What a nice bunch of smart guys.

My husband ordered a cord for my laptop so we picked it up. It has a really good vibe, friendly,industrious,clean. Its one of those places where a transaction could take a long time, or not.

These guys saved me me today. I had removed a key on the keyboard to extract a seed (no more toast and email) and could not figure out how to get it working again. I contacted my IT department in San Francisco who said it was a very delicate operation with a 50/50 chance of requiring an all-new keyboard! Of course Lynnwood has no computer repair shops so I drove to Seattle to have them snap the key back onto the keyboard. These guys had it fixed in 10 minutes. And they didnt even charge me. Ill definitely come back. They have some cool looking custom gaming machines and lots of laptops. Everything is reconditioned, good prices. Check them out!

Nice folks. Ive been going there for ten years. They always seem to have the right part at a reasonable price. Today I came in with a small problem with my Acer, and they helped me replace a screw free of charge.

I have been thinking a lot on this... been 3 years at least since I first posted a review when I gave 1 star, and went back there. I cannot in good conscious give 5 stars, but I will say the owner was willing to fix his mistakes by salvaging my files from 2 laptops that were pretty much bricks to me. (One of them I could have easily done myself with my own monitor).I was still hugely overcharged the first time around which doesnt seem like a fair deal to me ($170 for a diagnosis + moving some files), but he tried to make things right. The owner means well but thats the best I can say about this place, sorry Dan.... you overcharged me.

I took in my laptop when it would not boot or power up, after trying everything I could think of myself. Im no tech guru, so when the technician found out that all he had to do was clear the power circuit for me, he showed me exactly what I needed to do again, and didnt charge me a penny. Also, when I casually mentioned that I needed to dust out my machine, he took it in the back and dusted it for me, again no charge. When I need repairs in the future, I will definitely go back to this place. They really are invested in helping people, not squeezing you for money, like some computer repair places Ive visited. Highly recommended!

Ill never go back. I had a CMOS battery that needed to be replaced on my laptop. They told me it would be about $40. It was over $100, AND they kept my power cord and external floppy disk drive. After months of haranguing them, they gave me a power cord, but I never did get my floppy disk drive.I have to take some blame. I noticed when I left the shop, that they didnt mark on my receipt that these had been also left. It crossed my mind that I should go back and get the receipt for them, but I said to myself, Nah. Theyre professional. Itll be OK.It wasnt.Ill never go back.

Seattle Laptop had -- on hand -- exactly the right connector, a simple but tiny screw, to hold the laptop together. They were willing to put that together while I waited because it threatened the integrity of the casing and my jury-rigged effort was going to cause trouble. While I waited I observed a staffer helping a woman who brought in a compromised laptop. The staffer described the necessary steps theyd take with no talking down, just direct and helpful. Kudos. Well-organized and caring. Thank you.

My H/P laptop died. It was 6 or 7 years old and was pretty sluggish. Brought it in to SL, they instantly diagnosed the problem and I purchased a refurbished laptop rather than getting mine repaired. After transferring all of my data within 2 days, my new laptop is off and running way better than the old one. The service was excellent and the price for my new laptop was very reasonable. I cant recommend this Seattle landmark highly enough.

Dont go here these people are horrible, I tried to sell a laptop that was a year old to them so I reinstalled Windows on it before giving to them to check out and give me a price for it. After waiting a long period of time they came back and told me I stole the laptop and the laptop was only bought 2 days before so how could it be 1 year old.... I told them I reinstalled Windows 2 days ago but they didnt believe me and insisted I didnt know anything about computers. I have the receipt and box for both items still and offered to bring them in as proof but they refused and told me not to play games with them or come back. Im not sure where these techs come from but they sure dont know anything.....

If I could give these guys negative stars I would. Im very upset with the service they provided. I paid more than I expected, the first time I picked up my laptop the back wasnt even screwed back on and the motherboard almost fell out. Then when I picked it up the second time there were scratches all over the laptop. I will definitely be finding a new place to have repairs done.

SL has been great for me, I spilled a drink on my Macbook and they rushed my order and cleaned everything up like new. Months later I ran into another problem, it seems there was some liquid damage again, not sure how but they spent many hours and days working on my problem until they could get my laptop working like new. It runs better than it ever has and they preserved all of my data. They were communicative and kind, I will always trust them with my macs. And I dont have much money, and their prices are reasonable. They are clear when something is going to be too expensive to do and honest about not being able to do something that isnt their specialty. Real professionals.
