Sam and Hello Bicycle, Welcome to Tucson! So glad to have an awesome bike shop near by that can work on E-bikes. I ordered a Priority Current online and had Sam do the post shipment and home assembly inspection. Thank goodness I did. Hello Bicycle oiled and inspected every bolt and adjusted to spec. While examining my e-bike Sam noticed my disc brake was bent from shipping which would have been a bummer if I rode it before repair. It was worth every bit of the reasonable cost. Thanks Sam. I look forward to doing business in the future. I highly recommend them!

I got my bike tuned up here for $300, I was told it could run up to $600. I wish I would have gone else where or just paid a friend. The brakes on the bike squeaked and felt unbalanced from the get go after this tune up. One side is tight & the other is loose, not much different than I brought it in. Two months down and the squeaking has gotten worse and the loose brake is even looser. It would have been something I would normally work with people with, but honestly the owner never felt welcoming. I would recommend Bike Works in Columbia City over Hello Bicycle.

Brake pads I bought were reasonably-priced. Shop is clean and well-lit. Customer service is leaves a lot to be desired.Stopped by, first time. You only get one chance to make a first impression, right? There were two pages of text on the door, I saw that the first one was about wearing a mask for COVID - pretty unremarkable and didnt think much of it. I started to walk in and a guy yelled at me to leave, that only one customer was allowed at a time.Firstly, one catches more flies with honey than with vinegar - there was no need to yell or be impolite. Secondly, thats a somewhat unusual policy and maybe they should be a little more forthcoming than burying that in the second full page of text posted at the door - maybe theyd be less frustrated by customers not noticing the policy if they used bigger font and posted it separately? (admittedly, I didnt read it and thats my fault, but everyone knows that masks are mandatory at this point so maybe thats not the most important thing to post) Thirdly, they have a posting at the front counter that says as many customers can be in the shop as there are employees - there were two hanging out in the shop and one was coming and going while I was there. If they cant even keep their own policies straight, how can they expect customers to? The shop is large enough for social distancing with four to six people inside. Regardless, politeness is key.As the customer was leaving he tried to hold the inward-swinging door open for me, but I couldnt tell if he was the person yelling at me to begin with and as far as I knew there was still a customer in the shop and I was going to be yelled at again. I appreciated the customers courtesy but it was embarrassing since Id just gotten yelled at for entering and he hadnt exited yet. Then, the register that I was checked out at had no receipt paper so they tried to say the only way I could get a receipt was to have it emailed to me. The rude guy (owner?) said something along the lines of We dont do anything else with your email. Im flattered that you think Im going to do something with it. Awesome, so Im the problem for not wanting to give out my email address to a jerk? Oh, but he said he wasnt going to do anything but send my receipt - how foolish of me not to trust him, of course its reasonable that he should crack a joke about that. Whatever, there are plenty of other bike shops to go to.

As avid bike commuters, my wife and I need a good deal of bike maintenance. We have gone to Hello Bicycle for years and we just love the place. They are very transparent about their pricing, work hard to keep things as cheap as possible, and always have insight into any issue. On top of that they are SUPER friendly! I can’t recommend this place strongly enough. Owner/mechanic Sam is a neighborhood gem.

Not only did they get my brand new bike built the same day it was delivered, with tubeless tires, they also were nice enough to let me pick it up right at closing time. Looking forward to my included 30 day check in and the tune-up Im told I can take advantage of any time in the next year!

As I write this, there is only one review of Hello Bicycle that doesnt have five stars. You should know that review came during a time of transition for Hello Bicycle. Sam is the current owner of this unusually great little shop, but thats a recent development. He used to only manage Hello Bicycle, and left for a better paying gig at another shop. The former owner hired a new manager who let the shop fall into disrepair, treated customers poorly, and strangely decided to close during the busiest times. Due to this shockingly bad mismanagement, Beacon Hill nearly lost its only local bike shop! Luckily for all who live near Hello Bicycle, Sam returned and bought it. Since his return, the shop has been cleaned up, restocked, and remodeling has begun. All cyclists - from pro enduro racers to daily commuters - will find a very tidy and well organized shop that offers very affordable service done by a bright, funny, creative, highly trained, very experienced and motivated perfectionist. Im grateful that Sam returned to us in Beacon Hill and saved Hello Bicycle.

This shop reminds me of the small town mechanic. Nothing fancy with boxes in plain sight, the best service you could ask for, great prices, & no credit cards. Not all decked out like many shops in Seattle. Very friendly & helpful staff. Great prices & amazing service. Ive found where my bike will go from this point forward.

In the week leading up to the STP my bike suddenly had major issues. I was turned away from 4 other bike shops because they were too busy and would not be able to help me until after my race. Hello Bicycle was also very busy but they made time for me and fixed up my bike like new! They guys working there were very kind and took the time to answer my numerous questions. They also didnt judge me for letting my bike fall into disrepair ;) I will always be grateful to Hello Bicycle for taking such good care of me and my bike!!!

Hello Bicycle has been my go-to spot for maintenance for 2 years now. I am a road racer and put well over 5K miles of hard use on my two bikes. Sam knows his stuff, gets things done when (or before) he says he will and their prices are reasonable. Couldnt ask for more.

I had a staff named Samuel fixed my kid bicycle today. I tried to assembly a pedal at home but the chain was loose, so I liked a pro to take a look and fix if possible. Samuel worked on my bike and said the bike got a flaw design. Later on, he fixed the loosed chain. I asked him how he fixed it and he said the magic work. Once I got the bike, I inspected carefully and very DISAPPOINTED!! What he did was he removed the rear wheel washer from the secured socket and pointing the washer pin head out of the body frame. That totally defeated the purpose of safety using the washer. (Pictures attached) With this unsafe method and unapproved, he could move the rear wheel far out and tighten the chain.Look at the picture carefully, you can see that the only thing holding the rear wheel are the two tiny small screws to the rear break and the chain itself. The rear wheel washer hold nothing to the frame.I am not happy at all. He wanted to charge me $32.02. Screw it!! Do I have to pay that price with the method I not approve?? I told him that was more than I expected. He lowered down to $22.02 with no warranty. I dont care if the bike design was flaw or not. He was supposed to tell me what wrong first and what he planned to do. If I was not okay, he should not do anything. The repair guy was supposedly to be a pro and I was expected a work of a pro. What he did was wrong from the get go. He just tried to tighten the chain and defeat the safety using the washer. If he had told me that he would moved the rear wheel washer out of the safety socket to tighten the chain, I would have told him not to do at the first place and contact the bike manufacturer for defect. The problem is he just did without telling me and charged me the price.
