If you can go somewhere else I would. Not a very professional shop. Never called me once for the week and a half they had my car. Only called me when they were done and then explained the work they performed. Never received a quote prior to any work being performed. Very poor communication in my opinion. They got brake fluid all over my engine compartment cause I have spots all over any painted surface (firewall, wheel well, frame, etc...) and found fluid just sitting in spots. So they didnt even bother wiping anything down after marking a mess. Plus my brakes still dont work right. They glued in my MAP sensor cause it had a vacuum leak, my throttle body was missing a bolt. They over torqued the fuel rail bolt and pulled the nutsert out of the intake. Just not something I would expect from a shop like this. All I know is they are never getting my business again and I am telling anyone I know to go somewhere else.

I installed a Whipple supercharger on my 2014 Caprice and had several questions along the way. Tony was extremely helpful to answer any questions or concerns I had. Speed Inc tuned it and it now runs awesome!!Thank you to all at Speed. I will be back with more upgrades soon.

Great service! Friendly and efficient. These guys know their stuff and have great communication. Was in for a basic tune after headers/exhaust and trans torque converter upgrade. Car runs fantastic!! 2000 z28. Will definitely be back after my cam, heads and intake upgrade for a full dyno tune.

I recently had my 66 Nova in over at Speed Inc., had them do an LS3/T56 swap, and then had them move the 383/TH350 that was in the Nova to my moms 72 C10. I couldnt be happier with the work and service out of these guys. Tom and Tony stayed in contact with me almost daily, the fit and finish of the car and truck both is wonderful. The Nova made the power we were looking for, and I really cant wait for it to warm up and get the car over there for a few additional things. I cant say enough about how happy I am with the work these guys did for me.

This my objective view and experience from a small business owners standpoint about speed:Service: Mechanical quality is top notch. From the installations of the parts, fabrications and tuning.. Speed Inc has their work down to a science. They are obsessed with quality and making sure it is done right the first time. Prospective GM customers will not be disappointed in the quality of the labor and the product from Speed Inc. Great crew!Communication: Admittedly, I had a lot of questions about performance since my cts-v days (3 yrs ago.) and present day with my C6, they have not changed their approach. Tony D (shop manager) provides concise breakdown of different options, historical recommendation and transparent cost to put it all together. No pressure, just transparency. With the current post pandemic supply chain crunch across all industries, Tony has provide timelines and ETAs of my C6 build with assurance the build will be done right. Was there a longer wait? Yes, but again, supply chain issues is well apparent across all automotive market , and Speed INC was able to complete my build muscling through the covid hurdles. I was very impressed with the emails and calls throughout it all.Again, this is an objective view from a person that runs a business and has options to go to different shops within the area, but since day one when I had my cts, Tony and Speed has shown nothing but respect and patience answering all my questions and most importantly delivering on my hard earned dollars. There is a reason why Speed has been around and has the strong reputation that it has within the GM community.

Wasn’t sure where to take my 2005 GTO to be supercharged. One of the best decisions I’ve ever made was taking it to Speed Inc. We had a few mishaps but they took care of it with no problem what’s so ever. My car runs great and is extremely more powerful. Highly and extremely recommended. I watched Tom take this from a part time gig to a worldwide phenonium. He really built a hell of a brand. I was one of his primary suppliers for 15 years... I watch Tom build an LS empire. I fought with him over pricing and most of the time he won to get lower prices to get better deals for his customers. Hes a great businessman and I really am impressed with what he has done. Purchased a used car that had work done by speed inc. I took the car in as I had some check engine lights on that were caused by the the lack of emissions required parts. The team there was EXTREMELY helpful, got it done quickly as I waited and took care of me. They were able to plug the car in a quickly update the tune so that it no longer set off the codes. If need work or choose to to some upgrades in the future this will definitely be where I bring the car. Thank you speed inc. for the help.

If you have a Ford don’t go there . When I picked up my Mach 1 , I was handed parts. Had 4:10 ‘ s installed and they handed me broken ABS sensors. It has cost me thousands . They did a tune and totally screwed up my car. They’re not Ford people..Did not offer any compensation , help . In it for the $ , not the customer service you want .I’ve had so many issues , they don’t care.Hack shop . Go to DSS , better shop .

I came in to this shop to do a entire exhaust system upgrade. This is what I got in return.Very knowledgeable staff: They knew my car inside and out and knew exactly what I needed for my project. Even discovered that I possibly own a 2009.5 Pontiac G8 GT.Quick turn around: I was able to send in and receive my vehicle extremely fast. I had Speed Inc. do a complete build on my 2018 Camaro SS which included a forged short block, heads, cam, headers and fuel system. Tony D kept me updated everyday with progress reports and pictures. By far the best shop in Illinois. I bring my C6Z here for absolutely everything. From modifications to regular maintenance.The first day I purchased my Z, I brought it in to proactively make the heads bulletproof and receive a full and complete fluid drain and fill. Recently had Speed Inc perform motor work on my Cadillac and I must say their level of professionalism and knowledge is top notch! Im very happy with all the work the crew at Speed Inc. did on my LS swapped single turbo 94 Formula. They are experts at wiring, tuning, and repairs, theres nothing they cant handle. Ill never let any other performance shop touch my car. If you have an LS powered car this is the best place to go!

I would give this shop 10 stars if I could. My boyfriend and I have a 2009 Mustang GT that we have been avidly working on ourselves and upgraded for years. We finally trusted a shop to do our clutch install and H pipe install (we are very particular and dont trust anyone with the mustang) and this place was absolutely amazing. Not only was the price good but the install only took a day and a half. We had a full clutch assembly done and an H pipe installed and everything was done professionally and perfectly and we are EXTREMELY PICKY with this car so this is saying a lot! We will definitely being going back for future installs.

Just got my car back from Speed after an install and tune on a new transmission. Car is amazing. This is the only shop I allow to work on my car and will continue to allow to work on my car. Not only do they do a great job, they keep me in the loop during the entire process. With anything, quality is important, and these guys have it down!

Built my 2015 zl1 to about 865 crank hp, had a couple issues with fuel injectors so the start up wasn’t the best first couple weeeks, brought it back in and boom, things a beast and almost a year into having it and I couldn’t be happier. The fact that it can run with z06s and other fast cars is amazing, that was the goal and it couldn’t be more fun to drive. If you bring them a nice car to work with they’ll execute.

I got all my work done on my 03 Cobra there about 6 years ago, and I was very satisfied. Now however, they dont work on Fords anymore, and there are no other speed shops in the area. I should sue them for discrimination towards Blue oval owners! Other than that though, their good.

Great place to have any mods done. I had a problem with the E 85 sensor and they replaced it no questions asked.Hoping to have more mods done next summer. Ill be here getting them installed.

Excellent service and staff. Guys there are great to deal with. Originally twisted a driveshaft in half on the strip in a 2002 camaro ss. So I needed some help getting a new driveshaft made. I had a referral from some friends I know at another shop for custom driveshaft work. The quality for the price was unbeatable! Their Speed inc HD driveshaft fit great fully custom. Has no vibrations or anything. Now I dont have to worry about breaking the driveshaft on the 1/4. Very satisfied. Great work guys! Thanks again!

DO NOT waste your time or money with this place!!! I brought my car in to have some work done on the tune. When I got it back it was down over 70whp in power. After taking it to track and being even more disappointed I emailed Tony to let him know. He basically just said we did the best we could with the cars current set up. (What a lame ass BS answer) Obviously not since it was running better and quicker than BEFORE I brought it to Speed Inc. (Maybe they should change their name to Slow Inc.) In the end I had to have all of Speed Incs tune removed and completely re-done. Now the car is running great and quicker than ever.If you were thinking of taking your car to this overpriced unproductive shop I would seriously reconsider. Do yourself a favor and take it somewhere else. Ask around, there are plenty of other much more capable shops in the area.

I wouldnt let these guys tune a lawn mower, I picked my vehicle up with so many problems, the guy that made it right asked what monkey worked on this?. I knew it was going to be a problem when I picked it up with a valve cover gasket sticking out and leaking on my gtp headed LS. Go elsewhere and do it right

Purchased a map sensor and a thermostat. map sensor came in fine.. the tstat took forever and was the wrong.. long story short.. still waiting on refund.. month later.

Been using Speed Inc for the better part of 18 years for parts, installs and tuning. They treat you like family and are a great place to do business.

Ive had a number of cars repaired, upgraded and tuned by Speed. Always a fair price and Ive always left happy.

There are a few performance shops in chicago land, just cruise past this one. If you dont, be sure to examine and document damages or poor work before leaving. I found MAF was installed wrong, boost controller was not working and a bunch of little things over time. If you found after the fact, be sure to report right away. Sadly, they dont take ownership of their work, and unless you can prove they screwed up to them. So dont extend them any favors.

This place will destroy your car and they are garbage at work in general. Look elsewhere for LS/LT needs.Notice all their positive reviews are generic or the comment somehow addresses all their negative reviews. Or they blame the consumer with the issue that happened. With that being said, a lot of people have had tuning issues, parts issues, unfinished work issues, customer service issues, and general condescending from the staff. They do not stand behind their work. They take as many short cuts as possible.

I had my 99 Camaro Z28 dyno tuned at SpeedINC last week. This was my first car I had ever had tuned so I had a lot of questions about the entire process; Tony D. was very punctual to all my emails and questions I had. Jim M. worked his magic. I did have a few questions about my tune and Tony got me in the next morning for Jim to make a few personal adjustments to suit my driving style better. Thanks! See you guys for my next car!

I recently had my 02 C5 vette tuned there. The weekend after the tune my best ET dropped from a 12.94 to a 12.68 and mph went up from previous best of 107 to 109 and in slightly warmer weather. Mind you same car and setup only difference was the tune. Cold air intake, and a 160 thermostat were the only real performance mods to drivetrain before and after tune. Otherwise oem stock and they still found some considerable improvement.Most importantly due to tune and fan adjustments car runs noticeably better/cooler in city traffic and feels a bit stronger. Very pleased with results. Want to say thanks to Tony for scheduling and Jim for taking time to give a old car a solid tune.Not the first time I have used speed inc. And will not be the last. Very knowledgeable crew with decades of experience tuning LS cars and many other types. Very willing to share their experiences to help you meet your performance goals without unnecessary work.

Speed has been around these parts for as long as I can remember and little did I know that I would ever have a car built by them. I brought my 2012 Cadillac CTS-V coupe to them for a complete overhaul and Hassan and Tony both helped me lay out the exact spec I wanted the car and the most responsible way of doing the work without sacrificing reliability and cutting any corners. Since the build in July of 2018 Ive gotten nothing but compliments on the car and I have no hesitation in mentioning Speed Inc. built the car whenever anyone asks. I highly recommend going to them for any builds/tuning as they are top notch and actually guarantee their work just Incase you have any hickups down the road. If in any case you do, they wont hesitate to help you remedy the issue so you can have complete peace of mind. Spring is around the corner! Dont put it off any longer and schedule your appointment today!

I came in person to discuss further modifying my Trans Am. I shared all my expectations and trusted Speed Inc.s ability to spec and build out a reliable street setup. I spared no expense and upgraded every item the shop recommended. I spent in total $20K to refresh the engine and put a high performance top-end on my procharger setup.The car made 630rwhp and broke the day I took it home. This was after a supposed 1-2 week build dragged on for 2 months due to delays and a backlog of other projects. Why did the car fail? In part because I was told forged internals would not be necessary after I asked if they were worth the investment. Ring failure burned out the #7 piston.The car was rebuilt at cost due to their oversight (which still isnt great for me, but I appreciate the gesture). Forged internals were put in. I put the car into winter storage after the second rebuild and waited for spring. Spring comes and the car has another internal engine failure after less than 500 miles on the new setup (this was after I brought it back in for a leak in the new rear end they installed). Speed Inc. says bring it in and well take a look.How many $300 flat bed tows do I need to provide, along with organizing rides on account of a shops inability to build what they say the can? How many THOUSANDS of dollars do I need to spend for a car that runs properly? Why do I have to keep paying for replacement parts for a setup that clearly isnt reliable? Why would I keep giving money to a shop that apparently doesnt intend to get it right the first time. If the project wasnt feasible, why wasnt that communicated? This is at best incompetence and at worst a deliberate business model to keep milking customers out of hard-earned cash.Ive done quite a lot of business with Speed Inc. over the years (headers, FLT transmission, ProCharger). Changes in shop management over the years have greatly impacted the end result in my opinion. Its not the same shop it was 10 years ago. I havent, and will not, gone back to give them by business. If you want some headers put on, go for it. But I would not recommend them for a serious project based on my experience. Hopefully my lesson can save someone else from the same consequences.UPDATE: I cant reply inline to the shops response unfortunately so Ill comment here. I guess the message is buyer beware. It sounds like I should have understood the risks. I thought that was the point of me visiting in person and discussing my hopes for a high-powered street car. From my perspective, Im paying a shop like yours for your expertise and guidance as much as the work involved.Its your word against mine as far as what was clarified by your business. Im sharing my experience as objectively as I can and others can use it or dismiss me. I was never cautioned against the power goals - I thought that was the point of including all the supporting upgrades. I would have never declined putting in a forged crank if that was necessary, and as I stated earlier I was advised that forged internals wouldnt be necessary. Im skeptical the factory crank is the root cause of these issues, but I cant definitively say its not.You mention it ran, but it pushed coolant the day of delivery. In what other business would I pay huge money for a product that breaks the day I take delivery and the conclusion is I, the customer, should have known better? After $20K, Im supposed to just keep bringing the car back, sinking more money and crossing my fingers that at some point it runs reliably? I dont have the money to do that, and Id be crazy to do that even if I did. This was a very exciting reward to myself that should have been fun and special, but it turned into a nightmarish experience and the car sits to this day.I stand by my review as Im sure you stand behind your reply. I have copies of the dyno pulls. I guess where our perspectives differ is I expected a working vehicle for my money, and youre satisfied that it didnt blow on the dyno.

Been going to speedinc for about 12 years. First build was 2000 TA ws6. Heads, cam, intake. That turned into a prochanged stroker through all that they have always been good to me. Now I’m currently back with a MAX build 2010 ZR1 waiting to see the results hopefully setting a shop record. Through all this Tony has great with communication.

Very poor customer service that I wouldnt recommend to anyone. Had a dyno tune appointment scheduled, and I figured that Id wait until they were done as they said that itd take ~45 minutes in an email. I was scheduled for 1 PM, so I got there 15 minutes early only to be told that the shop is on break until 2 PM, so I had to wait an hour before they got back to only be told that there was another car on the dyno that they were finishing up on (customer wasnt at the shop) and that itd be another hour before the car I brought could be tuned. TWO AND A HALF HOURS later (4:30) they are finally strapping down the car I had brought. After they spent an hour and a half tuning the car, it was finally done. The car performed worse than it did when it was first brought in. There was nothing done to rectify the situation or justify why everything took so long, and no sympathy from the employees. The 1 PM appointment didnt get completed until 6 PM, when it shouldve only taken ~45 minutes. Would not recommend as there are many other local shops that specialize in LSX engines that do a far superior job.

Recently had my 2014 Silverado 5.3 tuned by Speedinc using hptuners for less cost than purchasing a simple handheld canned tuner. The truck drives totally different and I couldnt be happier. All my Speedinc emails of questions I had were answered in less than 5 minutes. Speedinc does not disappoint and I highly recommend them for all performance needs.

Amazing is the best description in regards to, Speed Inc. The entire staff is very helpful & they are all very knowledgeable, as well as personable. The shop is located not far at all from the Elgin OHare expressway which makes it easily accessible. Their open house that they host in the summer time is always something that the car guy has to attend to. If you love cars, I dont care if you even are an Import guy, you will be surrounded by horse-power machines waiting to lay down rubber. Who doesnt enjoy that? Either way, I have had services on my Camaro performed here & will continue to do so in the future. Keep it up!

I had work done by them 10 years ago. They scratched my car which they denied. I had them changed the third member in my ford 9 and they quoted me $225 but charged me $1100 because they messed up twice. I wouldnt use them again.
