Unlike other hardware stores, home improvement center is following the guidance of the CDC, the governor of California, and the president of the United States of America. This place has always been wonderful. For a neighborhood hardware store, they have absolutely everything you would ever need! They have huge selections of lumber, tools, and awesome gardening department, and incredibly helpful employees. And they also make keys! Really the list goes on and on

Good selection of home improvement items. They stock everything from paint to lumber to cleaning supplies. You need plants and gardening supplies this place has that too. Staff is also friendly and prices are not out of line.

Truly clean and professional set up, friendly service. Many different departments, from garden to heavy tools. Great location too.

The hometown feel hardware and garden store has great service. The paint dept. carries Benjamin Moore paints. They can color match paint.

As local businesses go, youd be hard fought to find another with such a great presence. Staff is absolutely excellent, and the store carries much more inventory than one might imagine. Ask anyone with a red👕 a question and answers flow effortlessly. Make sure to check out the nursery, and the random kitchenware department. Hidden gems abound.

Stopping often for my supplies and Santa Barbara. Much better than trying to get out to The Big box store. I also like Miners in goleta to fallow the theme of an Ace hardware store.

Today we stopped by to see if they had volcanic rock for my sons science project. I definitely didnt need a 25 lb bag, so the employee who helped us very kindly gave us about 30 rocks in a bag. So nice! I have always enjoyed this particular Ace because of its unique layout of several buildings and good size lumber/garden section.

I go here way too often! Nice and helpful people, especially in the paint and plumbing/electrical departments. They’ll cut your lumber for you for a small fee which can be very helpful!

The SB Home Improvement Center charges everyone 64 and younger 10% more than anyone 65 and older. I just don’t understand why a company would charge people significantly different prices based on their age. When you go there, be prepared to wait in line behind somebody writing a check for their merchandise that they will pay 10% less than you based soley on their age. I think it is unethical, immoral, and wrong. Special treatment for some is discrimination against others.

Interesting experience... The door greeter was very nice... Welcomed me into the store and pointed exactly where to go when I mentioned it was my first time. Bezrania (spelling?) saw me look at her when I made my way to the key cutting area and coldly stated Someone will be right with you as if she knew what I looked at her for. I didnt even half know what the heck a key cutting machine was doing in the middle of an isle and I said Would that be you for cutting keys? She very coldly stated Someone will be right with you again. I am baffled at how every coworker around her is in a good mood except her. I then stated it was my first time here and I didnt know the rules. Everyone except her belongs here today. She, the 1 bad seed, zapped the goodness out of today and I will not be back for sometime. I was so afraid of a bad reaction after her I nervously asked the key cutter to please show me where to check out because I have no idea where their registers even are. This store seems great if youre a regular but for the first time user it is horrendous. Please coach Bezrania on how to relax a little or give her some help because shes acting like this jobs too much.

Best place in town for anything you need for home improvement or decorations.

This is one of my fave stores in SB to just browse around because they have almost everything within one store, except food. The holidays are especially fun to walk around there and look at all the ornaments, candles, Christmas trees, holiday plant,cards , etc. It isnt generic and sterile and boring like Home Depot and other chain stores. It has a local feeling , competetive pricing and I only have positive things to say about it.

Great place with a hell of a stock of items

Best go to household place in SB! From garden to hardware to furnishings to propane to lumber! Best part is the huge number of staff wandering around... You can ALWAYS get help quickly and these are not inexperienced teenagers but people with REAL experience who can advise on what to buy for a project. Mostly senior men but a good number of women too! Super place!!!

Home Improvement has about everything you need from wooden planks to kitchen products

Had to wait in line. Its hot and no shade. Bought some door knobs for a job.One of them had all the wrong parts from a different make, so did not work . Had to go back and wait in line again . Not fun. Time is money...

Great customer service but prices high! I’m a huge fan of the Santa Barbara home improvement store simply because of the wonderful customer service and knowing that I don’t have to run down aisles like I do at Home Depot simply to find someone to help answer your question, to let her learn that they don’t know anything about what I’m trying to do. That’s the opposite at the Santa Barbara home improvement. That being said, when I know exactly what I want and I need to buy a higher quantity, unfortunately head to the big boxe stores because in some cases prices are 50% cheaper.

Excellent hardware store. Very courteous and helpful staff. You can always find someone to help or for advice. Not a big box store but has everything for home repair. Parking can be limited when very busy and there are one-way streets around store.

Good place to get small items needed when doing a home project that pop up. If you need something explained to you about the project youre working on I would be leery to come to this place.They dont offer as much as they seem they would but worth a try to see if they have what you might need.Cant compare to the nightmare one will go through if they decide to go to home depot and need assistance to figure out what you will to get for your project.

Ive had a lot of bad experiences at various retailers in my time, but this one takes the cake! I stopped in while on my way home from work to get some ideas for some Home Improvement projects I was working on. Because walking is my mode of transportation, I have a backpack for a purse. I was in the store for about 45 minutes and was approached 3 times and was asked if I was Finding everything okay and nothing was mentioned about my backpack until 1/4 employee came out of the back room and told me they have a no backpack policy due to theft. He said he was going to take my bag and have it checked at the front and would give me a valet ticket to pick up when I was finished. I told him I was not going to hand over my purse and he said that it was policy and I was going to have to do that in order to stay in the store. I told him I was not going to do that but that I would allow them to do a bag check right then and there and or when I left and that was not an option. As were having this conversation, customers are walking by, looking and pointing, and to be honest, I was quite embarrassed. Im sure they assumed I was stealing, which I wasnt, and that did not sit well with me. I ended up going to customer service and showing the clerk my bag anyway just to show that I was not a thief. I understand policies as Ive worked retail for many many years, and I understand backpacks pose a higher risk of theft if customer is left unattended, but being a 39 year old woman with a backpack as a purse because I walk should not werent having my bag taken from me. I will not be returning to the store ever again and will let everyone know how discriminatory their practices are.

I love this store. They always have what I need, as well as stuff I dont need. And then theres the stuff I discover that I didnt know I would ever need but gotta have! Everyone is so nice & helpful. I want to work there.

This place has so much stuff. It just keeps going! Prices seem reasonable also. And they have some oddball items that are hard to find elsewhere. Homegoods, hardware, etc.

Paul provided the kind of helpful courteous service that I thought had vanished for good twenty years ago. The plastic knob on top of my electric kettle fell off due to a broken screw and I couldn’t get the cap open. Paul had to use about four different tools to do the job and get the knob screwed back on. Try to get that kind of service at Home Depot!

This place is great. Very knowledgeable and helpful staff. Lots of rooms full of interesting & useful stuff. Reminds me of an old-timey hardware store that has everything youre looking for tucked away someplace.

Really nice but the security is kinda annoying. Lots of stuff is locked up and needs assistance and if you bring a bag like a backpack or laptop you have to check it in with the same person who checks out customers so its an akward experience holding up the line or waiting in line to get your property back if you dont find what youre looking for inside.

Ive loved this hardware store since I moved here in 2008. Theyve always been helpful, take you to where you need to go personally, and give suggestions when you need them. Outstanding, keep up the great work.

Ample parking for having a place downtown. The downside is that all of the parking isnt connected. Usually fairly busy but the people there are friendly and for the most part knowledgeable. If you ask one person and they dont know usually the second one will.The paint dept is great and I keep my old orders with them. That way if I need a sample to touch up a few places theyve got it on record.

They have a great selection of items and lots of helpful service staff, but their prices are just too high overall. I shop there when I get a 20% off discount coupon, and that brings the prices down to home Depot level.

I go there for everything! Price, selection of tools and materials and that good old fashioned neighborhood service and smile! Everyone there is knowledgeable in there specific department. I never have a problem finding someone who is happy and willing to help. Even the cashiers ask, what are you working on? because they care. A home center/hardware store done right!

Flatbeders , come to side street (olive )And back inside gated lot ,theres a side street, you can use to back in and unload , i delivered bags of salt.....call in ahead of time
