If you didnt know this place existed you would never be able to find it it is very indiscriminate and located on the corner of Turk and Leavenworth

This is a hardware store that I REALLY wanted to like. Its a neighborhood store, and the employees clearly enjoy working there. Ultimately, their spotty selection of tools, and their hit or miss inventory of basic hardware supplies makes this place exactly what I have used it for in the past, a last ditch pray-it-has-what-I-need-just-for-the-moment-because-given-the-apparent-quality-my-purchase-wont-last-longer-much-than-that when I dont have time to make it to a Coles.... or if time is REALLY a luxury I have, Lowes.... Ultimately, my review is NOT a knock on the employees, or even necessarily products they are selling. They are providing much needed resources in the TENDERLOIN, and if you need something IMMEDIATELY in the Tenderloin, like for a theater performance that needs last minute hardware, they will help every way they can... but as a consumer, if you have the time to walk the few extra blocks, or JUMP bike or escooter... Coles will likely have what you need in better quality.

I have been shopping at peerless for over 3 years. I have never had a bad experience. Staff is always helpful and friendly. They have the lowest prices in San Francisco. The only down side is the selection. But I always get what I need.

They went beyond the call of duty in helping me out with my project. In response to the earlier review you can look around yourself, but it is true that they dart around the store getting the things you need once they know how to help you. Wonderful place and service.

Peerless has a little of everything, and is centrally located in the tenderloin. They are very helpful and knowledgable.

Hands down the best customer service I have received in San Francisco since I loved here 9 months ago. A meme bet of staff, pure gentleman, greeted me at the door upon arrival, brought me to the location of what I needed, showed me the different options and then brought me to the register.

Excellent customer service, whay a local hardware store should be like.

So they may not have what you need . Concentrate on what they have to offer. The other option is way up Polk Street or on 4th street .to go to Ace . I like Peerless because it is a hold out in a bad neighborhood . If they close the corporate monsters like Home Depot have another notch in their corporate belt The BONUS is lower prices than ACE .

This is a very small hardware supply store, kind of hidden but has a lot of materials and small tools.

Disorganized to the point of messiness. Next to no organization or apparent management. Slightly dirty. They dont even have power tools.
