This store got everything you need to get. I would able to paint my bathroom. Now it look brand new fresh and clean.. I didnt even know this place got every tools.. and simple to use with a decent prices. Everything work out great. Cant wait to paint my room now so I definitely will go back there again. So if you live around the area you should check out this place and they are cool people they will help you if your not sure what to get. Recommended !!

Key guy takes a couple years to print your copies but manager speed him up for a great service.

Both times Ive come here, Ive had some interesting situations that I had no idea how to handle, and both times, the employees have been wonderful, kind, and very patient in helping me find the product I needed.

Just received our delivery of kids play sand from Brownies store. We found them on the internet and found them to be the most reasonably priced, huge bonus that they deliver too. We ordered Tuesday evening over the phone and received by Wednesday midday. Fantastic service. Thank Brownies we will definitely be visiting you again.

Good local hardware store with pretty much whatever you need. Picked up a few packages of rubber feet for stools and table to keep from scratching wooden floors.Mosy of the aisles area little tight for 2 people passing each other.

Inadequate training and incapable employees. Today I was told to come back another day because they didnt know how to cut plywood. You work in a hardware store that carries plywood and offer services to cut plywood to size and you dont know how to cut plywood? I felt like teaching each employee there how to use each machine in their store right then and there. This is not the only time Ive come to Brownies and have been turned away because an employee doesnt have the knowledge to perform a certain task this is just the latest. I recommend going to the Cole Hardware on Green and Polk, they know what theyre doing.

It was simply okay and better than other independent hardware stores. Theres a good and plentiful assortment of items on the shelves and it has the cheapest prices on murphys oil soap by the gallon. The counter intelligence needs a lesson on how to make change for $6.08 after giving him $20.03. Smdh

So. Overpriced. But if you like to be followed around like your gonna steal something. Definatly not the place to go if you wanna RIP off a vacuum cleaner belt. Really if you wanna be sure you get the correct one for your vacuum. I prefer to read the package before I buy it. Not just be rushed to the register to pay too much for something thats not right anyway. They should chill out. Im only a well dressed white guy. Not like Im gonna rob the place.

Theyve got one of everything you need! Sure, you can get it a few dollars cheaper on Amazon, but The employees here are a trove of knowledge when you have questions. My only complaint is the guy who is usually on the key cutter is awful at it. On at least 3 occasions he made keys for me that didnt work.

Friendly and good attitude people

There are several amazing employees here and there are others, including the manager, who seem to be out of it. One of the employees was snappy, and condescending and super pushy...i use to LOVE shopping here, but the service has changed its beat.

I have been shopping at this Polk & Sacramento street hardware store now for 40 years . You can find anything that you need at this store . They have good helpful employees to help you find what you need here . Very reasonable store too . I used to come here slot when I was a Apartment building manager back in the 1970s and the 1980s .

Local shop with knowledgeable, friendly competent people who can really help you find what find exactly what you need to complete the job with a professional attitude and results. I actually sent the regiona managerl a compliment on how well a new employee did in a particular situation. I like to give credit where it is due. Thats it! Its comforting to see how well people with this subject.

This is my hardware store of choice -- Ive bought compact fluorescent lamps there, have had keys cut and even got excellent advice when we moved our stove and needed a slightly longer gas hookup pipe. The staff at Brownies are super friendly and their returns policy is pretty liberal.Edit June 2020: the shop is well set up to ensure social distancing and protect clients and staff

Friendly, knowledgeable staff. Takes returns if you wind up not using all materials for a project. A little cramped inside but thats fine because they always have what you need.

Im often going there to buy home supplies and various tools to prototype a lot of things and the staff has always been helpful, giving good advice and suggesting creative ideas with my requirements, which is what I need.I went there about 10-15 times now and I trust them.

They even charge you for scraps. What a load bull. However, aside from that, they are very friendly. Theyll cut anything for you comparable to Home depot or Lowes where you cant bring your own items to get it cut. I even took my broken 32 HDTV to get it cut. I told them I was making a school project(not really) I just want to confirm when they told me theyll cut anything. So if you live in the city and doesnt have a circular saw, head on down/up to Brownies, and they will cut everything for you for a low price of $10.

Worst customer service experience ever at Brownies... Having shopped here for over 20 years, I tried to purchase some cable ties for a project in Lafayette Park. When I found no 8 black ties I went to the counter and was told not once but twice that I was wrong and there were plenty on the shelves but even after they sent someone to help, no 8 inch black ties. No remorse or apology, just more attitude. Still had to purchase something to get the project done. Will have to consider not shopping there again and using another hardware store in the future.

One question- why are brownies staff so angry?If you dont like working with the public, please get the hell out the business!I gave them 2stars because the women at the counter was very nice but the a hole that was suppose to help me pick out a wrench was a tool, pun intended.

I cant speak to their Brownies Ace Hardware. Or their coffee. But the chocolate cookie I had was A. The space is also really cool.

Strong urban hardware store - a nice comprehensive selection; aisles are narrow but far better organized than the TrueValue across the way (those who know my family connections will know Im cutting against bias here. :)) Service was top-notch, with employees going out of their way to track down customers who look confused. Brownies is my go to place for diy projects at home. Im only six minutes from Now Hill and sometimes wifey get her keys cut here. This shop is a neighborhood savior for your last minute emergency needs. I came here looking for a metric bolt to fit on stud protruding from staircase. Cutting it down would create spark and potential fire. A bolt took care of the problem and avoiding safety hazard. Weekends are more busier with staff trying to attend to everyone. Be patient, the workers knows youre there and will get to you accordingly.
