I was in the market about a month ago in hopes of finding the right vehicle. I went to Hertz as my first choice which I am now ever grateful that I did, but here is as to why I feel the way that I do.I was so focused and extremely determined that if I saw the car that I liked, every looked great then DEAL!Hertz had two 2018 Chevrolet Cruzes LT in their lot. I first spoke with Daniel over the phone and went into Hertz the same day and met with him. Long story short - the deal was close to being made; however, it wasnt until I came back around to inspect the Chevrolet that I chose that appeared to have cosmetic damage and was dirty. Almost filthy.I had before pictures. Yes, I took after pictures which I will not post. The fact that there was visible damage just after one day really upset me. The deal was a definite NO.Overall, I am glad I went through Hertz as a first option in the sense that I gained valuable knowledge and experience.The three stars is for their service.I cant and wont again expect the best from a renters lot.

Ill be honest, when I first visited this dealership I was slightly skeptical about buying a used rental car. Now, a week after purchasing my car I can say that Ive never had a better experience than I did at this Hertz location.I started my car buying experience by talking with Russell Frier, a car salesman at this location. He was so friendly and respectable on the phone, and that only continued with my interaction in person. Every question I presented was answered in detail and every concern was met with reassurance.I took my 2017 Passat for a test drive and absolutely fell in love. It felt just like a new car, but came with a price that fit my budget. The only things I noticed were a few small dents and scratches that were to be expected when buying a used car.Russell went above and beyond and had their body technicians get them repaired for me. Now the car looks like it could have rolled right off the assembly line!Ive never been happier with a car or with my experience with a dealership. I highly recommend anyone looking to buy a car to stop by and talk with Russell to get their next car.

Its a shame they are closed. This was a great buying experience, with the exception of still not receiving my permanent tag, almost two months later and receiving NO assistance from the Hertz folks. Other than that I love my 2020 Colorado. I got an amazing deal on this vehicle, and great financing.

I was surprised to learn that Hertz sold cars as well as rented them. I saw the prices were very reasonable online and the cars looked to be in great shape. Vince came out to greet me as soon as I drove up and was very eager to assist and answer any questions I had. He showed me several options in my price range and was able to get me a fantastic deal for a gorgeous car. I will absolutely return to Hertz when the time comes and I highly recommend working with Vince! All in all it was a great buying experience!

My car salesman was Mr. Vince Boyd, his customer service was amazing. He was off already by the time I made it to the lot and he stayed because he knew I was coming from out of town and to make sure I found something that I liked and I was satisfied with. I really appreciate that because some sales people would just try to get you into just anything rather you’re comfortable with it or not but he made sure that I wasn’t just settling for anything.

Let me start by saying I have NEVER done a review EVER! We came to Hertz after being told no so many times. To say I was feeling defeated is an understatement. Maxwell was our salesman and was so helpful! He showed us a 2019 Malibu and after being shut down I thought for sure there was no way. He worked with the finance manager and they got us approved!!! Bought a 2017 Escape last March. It had been in a rear end accident. But you couldn’t tell, they had done a fabulous job fixing it up...( or so I thought). I was so excited to get this car!A couple months later I noticed the paint started to bubble up on the rear panel where the accident was. Next the paint started to peel off in small chunks, and now in large chunks. At this point a year later there is almost no paint left on my two year old car. Apparently whoever painted it didn’t prime it first. When I called them they had no sympathy and I was basically told to buy a new car. So disappointed.

My husband and I recently purchased a vehicle with hertz and couldn’t be happier. Prior to visiting we looked online to see what they had and what we were interested in, upon arrival we were greeted by Eli. He was very friendly and very helpful, we already had an idea of what we wanted he allowed us to test drive and we were immediately sold. The process was quick and easy and we arrived to the lot around 11:30/12pm and left with the vehicle at 3/4pm. They’re con men, sales manager is a hustler and the finance managers keeps your eyes off the papers your signing to distract you from what your actually signing up for. I thought I was a signing for they’re one year guarantee it was actually a two year extended warranty for an extra $2600 which I didn’t agree on nor want. And they fill the room with extra ppl that are not needed (sales rep) to keep asking questions and distracting you.

Tried to get it refinanced into a different vehicle and hopefully they would give me a lower interest rate than a 24%. But instead it was still high interest rate of 31% and the payments where more of course I wouldnt recommend going there if your a first time buyer wasting your time.

Over the past four months, I have dealt with three employees of Hertz Car Sales. Out of the three, I have had my vehicle for almost FOUR MONTHS and I STILL do not have license plates or my title. Upon speaking to the manager, Albert, three weeks ago, he promised me a call back at exactly 9am the following morning. He never called me back. Ive called and requested to speak with him two other times and he is never available. Jodie, the woman who processes title transfers always seems to be off on her early day and also does not return calls. I sent the same document three different times stating the authorization to purchase the vehicle. Erik, our salesman, has been communicative (unlike the rest of the staff) but is also incapable of providing me with the documents and tags they are LEGALLY BOUND to provide to the customer within 30 days. Vehicle was paid in full on the day of the sale. I can comment further to say that, like another customer of Hertz Car Sales, the tank was half empty, the stickers had not been removed, residual gunk from countless rental stickers remained and the cars exterior was dirty. Do not purchase from this dealership.

Horrible service, each time is a worst response over than phone for a simple license plate that supposedly their main office havent sent out yet for unknown reasons. I will never go to a rental car named dealership again thanks to these clowns. No one knows squat every single time I call.

Worst experience! Do not buy here! I purchased a car 3 months ago paid in full, and they still have not given me the title, window sticker, or license plates, so Im here still driving around with paper plates, even though they should have legally done that within 30 DAYS! Everytime I call, they blame it on corporate and give me the run around. The car I got was extremely dirty and stained on the seats that required a professional cleaning. I had to replace all 4 tires because they were so worn and uneven. Replaced front 2 rotors and brake pads, it also had several dings, chips and scratches that had to be re-painted, So even though it was cheaper up-front it cost me way more in the long run. Save yourself the headache! Such un-professional people here. I wish I had read the other bad reviews that say the same thing. Also, the fake good reviews on here are from actual employees working there right now !

Russell was great. He had great follow up and is overall a great salesmen. HOWEVER, things did not go very smooth at all. Hertz as a corporate process required a lot before we could take the car. After the 4th visit (one of those were under my own accord) we were finally able to take the car. When we finally got to pick up the car (Russell was off that day but was still willing to go pick up the check) they were still we questing documentation that was already sent. Also, I just assumed (my fault for assuming) being a rental return it would have two keys and being in the car industry before, expected the adhesive to be removed for the inside of the window, washed, and full of gas.(REVISED) Dropped this down to a one star. Three weeks after having the car and only driving 300 miles the breaks started squealing. The short story is they wouldnt do anything even though the pads in that short time dug into the rotors! My question is how did they not know the break pads were that low when they are required to check the breaks to pass safety?

Only gave a 1 star . But really they barely deserve a half of a star actually! because it was the Terrible customer service.never again. Made it so hard to do business, esp after we paid cash upfront..no financing at all. Family agrees... like the commercials say... should of went to carmax!

Let me just say this that I am having a horrendous experience dealing with David Harris at this specific Hertz branch I would never return again nor wester just anybody I care about whether their family or friend that they ever go to the Hertz located on San Pedro associated with the Hollywood Park dot-dot-dot mr. David Harris is and has and still continues to refuse to make good on reimbursing me amount of money that was taken from me for a key that I ultimately returned as soon as I possibly could and does not want to acknowledge or recognize and therefore I have to make this which I continue an ugly review only because I as a consumer as a customer in the worst time of my life have to experience that being said beware beware beware the David Harris works at a branch that you are going to do yourself a favor and walk out the door and find you a different Hertz location

I went in last week and I met. Mr. R. Frier. I had the BEST experience of buying a car in my life. I was preapproved by my credit card and I picked out a few cars I was eligible for. The one I REALLY wanted was not on site, and Mr. Frier called the detailer and asked him to bring it over. In the mean time, he had me test drive a beautiful model of a different color. I fell in love with it. He is the BEST guy there. No pressure. He will do what he can within his power. We came to an awesome agreement on my new car. It was a Friday and since it was late, he said to make an appointment with him the following week to get my car detailed. Such a nice guy. Im recommending not only this location, but also this salesman. Youll ha e an AMAZING experience.

We made a deal to buy a Rogue, drove up from Corpus Christi to buy it, but on the way found out they had sold it....(why would they do that..had the check in hand)…..not to happy, obviously...but we made a deal on another Rogue..(although not the color my wife wanted)..supposed to pick up Monday. Well see if they hold on to it this time....Ill post later on the out come.

Buyer beware! The time is now 11:16 A.M and it is the exact time I had been baited then switched by russel frier. I had been in communications with this sales person for about 2 weeks while he assured me he had the car. Not once through our communications had he said anything about the car being sold already. I came in to finalize the deal and put some money down and woke up extra early and drove 20 minutes only for him to tell me that the car we were talking about had been sold a week prior. Why he never brought it up you might ask ? I don’t know. Maybe he was just being a shady sales person. What I do know is that I will never shop at a hertz auto sales again. And if I could give anyone a piece of advice before buying here... don’t buy from Russel Frier!

Best place to buy cars in San Antonio Tx!

They sold me a car they stated that was never involved in an accident and as soon as I got home I figured that was not true since the bumper became loose. Further inspection i located several broken plastic brackets in the front bumper.

I really love how when I go to buy a car I get an experience like this. Let me start: in December I buy the car with the care package. I call once a month to inquire about where my packet for oil changes is, they tell me it’s on the way. In April they call asking if I know where the car is, I say yes because I own it and drive it to work. They tell me they were about to report it stolen. Well did I have concern about their practices. The “new” manager tells me not to worry and that they will now mark it down as sold after I’ve been paying on my 2016 Nissan Altima $200/mo.. finally when they figure out that the car was purchased I receive my oil change package in may. Now in June my car won’t start, this is a 2 year old battery. I call the car sales people and the guy answers to tell me he is closing up ten minutes early and I should just call roadside assistance! Not even the time of day when it is this hellacious experience that has caused me to call them! I was literally at academy and had a jump then go to dinner and the car won’t start again. This is not even ten minutes later! So now I have to wait till 10am for them to even talk to me and explain how this 2 year old battery doesn’t work 7 months after I purchased it. There is no good customer experience, poor quality vehicles and an experience I have definitely learned from. Never again.

WOMEN OF ALL AGES, BEWARE ! Manager and employee are BULLIES On July 5th 2019 I arrived at this location to return my rental car--Rental and Sales share the office space and lot-After returning the rental car, I was looking for my personal vehicle which I ALWAYS leave parked there only to find out that my little car was FOR SALE !! They had removed the license plates and replaced them with the Hertz Sales/signs. I asked to speak to the Manager for an explanation. The person who identified himself as the General Manager of Sales yet REFUSED to give me his real name said : that the car was in HIS lot and he thought it was a trade in, therefore it was for sale. I insisted on getting his name so I could call Corporate and at this point a much taller employee came to his defense saying that the premises were private propertyand I could not be in his office. I felt very intimidated and threatened. I asked other employees for the managers name and ALL said they didnt know his name. REALLY? I asked again for both their names and again they refused, so I took a picture on my phone . This made them very upset getting very close in front of me in my personal space , I felt intimidated and threatened very uncomfortable situation and saying again I had no right to take their picture...Well....YOU do not have the right to SELL MY car that does not belong to you...with out papers, nor title...So... anyway, I have made a formal complaint to the Corporate Offices in Oklahoma City as well as the City Manager here in San Antonio. STAY AWAY FROM THIS SALES LOT...These men give Used Car Salesmen everywhere a bad name ... so you can imagine how bad they are.

Its like they live in different planets. The manager had to refinance my payments 3 different times because our car salesman Russell did not give him the right information. (took and entire day to but the car) Then a week later I got pushy texts from the car salesman again saying I needed to come back and sign all new papaerwork bc the manager used the wrong set of paperwork? And they call themselves professional???Oh and by the way I bought in middle of June and I STILL havent gotten by licsence plates. Its the middle of september)Absolut worst car buying experience ever I wish there was a option to just return my car.Like I said save yourself the headache and go somewhere else.

The sales experience went fantastic. It was after the purchase that we see the true colors of Hertz and really of those that represent Hertz. I bought a car at the San Pedro location and after taking it home, about the 3rd day I noticed a defect at the steering wheel, the control panel that houses the cruise control function and other tasks was a bit separated from the center, where it should be snug at the center rubber piece. I called Eric the sales person I dealt with and he stated that he would talk with manager, he never got back to me. I called again and texted several more times, at least he was honest and told me he had totally forgotten. He then talked with the manager who stated that they would talk to the people they use to service their cars and that they would ask them to give me a good price on addressing the part on steering wheel. This is something they should address, not have me haggling to negotiate a price with service providers in order to fix a part that was their fault in the first place. I give them a 1 star because although the sales went smooth and I was really satisfied, Hertz, Vexco as represented by management did not stand behind a car that they represented in a sale, second purchase by the way, that they should have taken care of. Instead they just dismissed me and never addressed the situation again. If you read this and you work at BAMC please feel free to contact me through the e-mail service. I will be happy to let you know why they will never see me buy a third car from them, which I will be in the market for next year. You might pay a little bit more but I have learned that Enterprise would have handled it and taken care of the customer, especially one like me who had just bought the car only 3 days back, as explained to me by one of their staff. If you are tempted because of the prices, dont be, look at the competition. Hertz will not pay attention unless its mechanical, or power-train, they are stuck in those 2 lanes, which is why there will not be a 3rd time for me. Shame on you Hertz, and do not rent from them either, look into the the companies Hertz represents and stay away. In the end you will be glad you did.

Russell Frier is every horrible thing that you have ever heard about car sales persons incarnate. He was sneaky, rude, and unprofessional. After driving an hour and half to see a car we were told that someone had come in two minutes before us and had purchased that same car. Russell had been expecting us and had even texted us to check in before we got there, but he neglected to let us know that the car was not actually available. We were obviously upset and he became very defensive and condescending. He told us that he had another identical car, but it turned out that this car was priced much higher than the one we wanted. It was a classic bait and switch. Do not waste your time there.

The entire staff was terrific!!! Great weekend price but an extra day would have been way unreasonable had we gone for it.
