I recently had my catalytic converter stolen off of my Vehicle and my insurance company Was not very fair in their payout. Super quick service I could tell they know what they are doing. Everyone was nice, friendly and informative. Went in for some exhaust work and purchased a matte black dual exhaust tip directly from them at the shop. Now my car sounds awesome the exhaust has some nice pop and burble even when in idle mode which I love

After the catalytic converter was stolen from my NV200, I called several shops to get an estimate for the replacement. I left voicemails at 3 shops, starting with the closest. No one from those shops ever returned my calls!Matt at Muffler Tech answered on the first ring, explained the options, and even coordinated the insurance dealings. About 20 minutes later, a tow arrived and a week later, I got my van back. It took a week for my insurance to schedule an adjuster, the cat work and cage install was completed in 1 day. When I got there, they put it on the lift and gave me the grand tour of the Cat Security theft deterrent I had installed. Super pleased with it.There was one delay from a mistake Matt made. He owned up to it and offered options. While it cost me 1 day, his honesty made all the difference.Great communication, solid integrity, flawless workmanship.

Needed an aftermarket axel back exhaust installed on my 2012 Ford Mustang. Called to get a quote and was told it would be about an hours worth of work based on an unseen estimate. The shop charged a minimum $ per hour and it was a very fair price.Took the car in, filled out a small form, showed the tech Glenn the exhaust, he pulled my car in and started working right away. He had my old exhaust down in minutes and the new ones on, aligned and secured in under 30 minutes. I was very happy with his work and I would recommend anyone to this shop. Job well done gentlemen.

Took my Ram 1500 in early on a Saturday to get my exhaust system done. After calling around to other local shops I could tell these guys were honest and new what they were doing! They told me I didn’t even need a full set up (Honesty), and all that I need was a new muffler ( Magnaflow ) is what they said I should run! So I let them do their thing!! Busy, Busy, but get service and did the job right. Awesome shop.

I decided to call this place to see if someone could tell me why my car was making such a loud noise. I knew it had something to do with the cat converter but I wasnt sure what was actually wrong. 4 months ago i had a new exhaust system installed on my truck in Oregon. Told the guy it had to be California compliant and he granted it was. No it failed the smog test cause the cat. I drove 90 miles one way to get here. 😅 The best place to go for muffler and catalytic converter work. No pressure sales and service. Really nice people and advise whats right for you. Even though my car was not the commonly targeted model I chose to go forward on protecting it (against the advice of Muffler Tech 😁 who were trying to save me some money). Aah well, I well sleep better knowing there is some protection on my catalytic converter and I am happy to give Muffler Tech some business.

Had a mid-muffler delete done on my 2020 challenger r/t. Job was done in the time frame quoted and the price was reasonable. I didnt want anything extravagant, I just wanted it to have that nice muscle car sound when accelerating. The job gave me exactly what I was looking for. Very pleased with the work.

A few weeks ago someone stole the catalytic converter from my 2005 Honda Accord. I was shocked so I called my insurance company. They had my car towed to CarStar Collision and the phone call I got back was, the car had been deemed a total loss because it would cost more than the car to fix it. Shocked yet again I decided to call Muffler Tech to see if there was anything that could be done because the plan was to take the car to Muffler Tech after so they could secure it since Carstar charges 390.00 just for a cage around the catalytic converter.I spoke to Colby (from Muffler Tech) on the phone and after a phone call later from him to CarStar, CarStar decided to readjust the cost to fix my car and my insurance approved it. The down side was I had to wait almost a month for my car to get fixed.Once I got my car fixed I brought it to Muffler Tech the same day I picked it up. It took them 3 hours wait time for them to secure the catalytic converter and it costs me 250.00. Compared to CarStar I had to go for it, not to mention Ive called every muffler shop in the area and no one was picking up their phone. I couldnt find another place that cost less than 250.00 to fix it so I had to go for it.They were professional and courteous. As for quality of work its good just a bit pricey but better to be safe than sorry. In case anyone is interested, they do insurance jobs as well so if your catalytic converter gets stolen this would be the ideal place to get it fixed. You might get a free pen in the end. LOL!

Ive been to Muffler Tech several time over the last 20 years for muffler installs and various other repairs. Until now, theyve done quality work. I recently came in to have a bolt-on exhaust modified. I asked them to bend or otherwise modify one of the exhaust segments that was not lining up with the original muffler. It was only slightly misaligned and still bolted up, but was pulling on the muffler.Instead, they spend 20minutes, rotate a pipe and charge me an hours labor. I picked the car up and when I got home found that the exhaust is more out of alignment than before I came to Muffler Tech. I was pretty dissatisfied that they rushed through the job and didnt pay attention to detail.I came back the next morning to have them correct their mistake. Waited over 2 hours. Then they tell me they want to weld my muffler to the car body to keep it in place. I was pretty irritated. They wanted to do a bandaid fix instead of correcting the source of the problem. I had them cut and weld the pipe in the correct position.What i didnt notice is that when they were working on the exhaust the first day, they had angled the center section of pipe downwards towards the back of the car in an attempt to line things up. This caused ground clearance issues going over speed bumps.After having them work on the car twice, I ended up taking the whole system out myself, aligning everything again and was able to raise the pipes a couple inches for ground clearance and get everything lined up correctly.Long story short. They rush through the job to get more customers through the door and the quality suffers. Im going elsewhere next time.

I pulled in pretty early with my 67 Pontiac firebird. They got right on it. I don’t have to argue about who arrived first or when they would get to me. It was a fair and anxiety free experience. The exhaust was slightly rattling due to some work I had performed elsewhere. They simply took care of the problem without much fuss in a professional straight forward kind of way. I could tell it wasn’t about the money, it was about the relationship. I’ll be bringing my car back here for whatever exhaust work I need done!

I yelped this place and reviews were all amazing. I sent a few emails and called and the owner Colby was amazing. Replied instantly and informatively. I made an appointment and drove from Chico to Sacramento to have a muffler delete. They let me test drive before finishing in case I wasnt satisfied with end result which I thought was amazing. All parts were in stock and even stopped me from overspending telling me to test the muffler delete before considering changing resonators or adding a bypass. They did it while I waited and took about 1 hour. Truly amazing experience. Highly recommend.

Got a bung welded in my exhaust and my cracked headers welded. Took the maybe 10 minutes to do. Guys were super friendly and knowledgeable! Cost slightly more than other quotes for the same job, but very worth it for the quick and great work!

Repeating what everyone else has said - this is a great muffler/exhaust shop. Friendly and fast service and the prices were comparable and even a bit lower than most other places to have the catalytic converter replaced in my06 Prius. They know what theyre doing - cant recommend em highly enough!I recommend this place over West Coast Mufflers to replace the catalytic converter on a Gen 2 Prius and add additional protection (the CCM protection plate). The cost was the same at Muffler Tech with way more included (locking exhaust bolts and a locked collar top of the header pipe).Again...I highly recommend Muffler Tech!

I read about this shop online, watched some clear and insightful YouTube videos, then called and chatted with owner Colby on the phone. Decided then and there to drive an hour and a half to Sacramento to have his shop replace my stolen catalytic converter. And with the money I saved, I was able to purchase some serious protective measures for the same price I would have paid at my local shop for the replacement alone. VERY impressed. Totally worth the round trip.

Just moved here from Virginia. After driving my Expedition 2800 miles I was positive my entire exhaust system was shot. Expecting at minimum of 2k to fix it, i was told that i was wrong and it was something simple and would be less than $200. I went in this morning to replace a catalytic converter and I was worried that I would be without a car for a while and that it would be expensive. I was quoted a pretty decent price and I was quoted a 2 hour time, which was much faster than I expected. They were done a half hour early and the price was even lower than anticipated. I cant thank them enough, especially through these rough times.They folks that work there are very professional and have great customer service. I will be returning again if I need more work done. I drove 45 minutes to use these guys because they came highly recommended & had gave great deals to friends I have in the past. They were a little higher priced than I expected. We went back and forth and came to a compromise on price. I expected to have Flowmaster Super10s installed. They had tried to get me to go with KOs a knock off of Flowmaster. Well guess what, even though I thought I paid for and got Flowmaster, these guys installed the KOs anyways. They are not trust worthy & will never receive my business again. If I could have given them zero stars I would.

Awesome shop. Examined the problems and determined the best and most cost effective solution. Truck is now so much better to drive, when the exhaust was touching the frame and resonating into the cab it sounded like the transmission was going to lock up and fall out. It is so nice to drive now.

Had a catalytic converter installed here a while back. Extremely transparent pricing, nice tech, got the job done fast. They sell the cheapest CARB legal cats youll find (Walker), and if you cant install it yourself this is the place to go. Order the parts on Rockauto if youre feeling industrius and want to save on parts.

Got my 2017 Mazda 6 done on Wednesday with these guys. Walked in not knowing anything and just wanting to go straight pipe all the way. I’m glad the gentleman that was helping me gave me a quick class about everything pertaining to sound, tubing and California restrictions. I went ahead and only did a muffler and resonator delete. My car is a 2.5L 4 cylinder but now it seriously sounds like a V6 and I love the crackles and gurgles I get. The low idle pur always keeps a smile on my face and I seriously can’t stop smiling and laughing whenever I get some gurgles and crackles letting off the gas. What topped it off was the 4in. burnt tips he encouraged me to get. I’m constantly getting compliments on the road and in parking lots. All I can say is wow I am very happy and very impressed. These are your go to guys for any exhaust work. Will definitely always come back here for sure. Great job guys! Keep up the great work!

My man Matt and also Colby provided excellent service! Had a catalytic converter stolen from my Prius (very common) and shopped around for some deals after Geico cut me a small check. The service to replace these runs $2,500 all over Sacramento - trust me, Ive called 10 places.Matt and Colby explained in-depth how the job would be done and what anti-theft measures I could take. They sent out a complimentary tow to my house to get the car, after 5 pm, which is incredible. Job was done the next day and it included some theft security on the cat. They have a few options for this that youll want to look into.I must have called Matt 6 times in two days and he was always patient and I felt he really had my (and my wallets) best interest in mind.Stop searching and reading reviews. In early Oct I was having an exhaust issue with my motor home. I never recommend doing business with a dealer especially when the vehicle is not under some sort of warranty. Out of desperation, I did just that. That story could go on forever but this is about the Excellent service I received from Muffler Tech! I knew the dealer was trying to pull a fast on one me and with a little research on the internet I talked to another company that referred me to Muffler Tech. I was quoted $300.00 for the repair by Muffler Tech. The dealer was getting to charge me $1200.00!I took my 38 motor home to MT and worked with technician, Matt. Matt is a no BS, very conscientious technician. He stood by his $300.00 estimate and would call me if there were any problems. Estimated that the job would take 3 plus hours. Four hours later I headed back to the shop and the job was finished and beyond my expectations!!Great people at Muffler Tech and I would recommend without a hesitation! Thank you Matt and your crew!!

This is the first place I called to get a quote, for a new catalytic converter in my car and the price was reasonable compared to few other places. The installation was fast and professionally done. I strongly recommend this place, give them a call.

Down to earth place. Very busy. The staff here are helpful and explain things well. If youre going to buy something you really dont need, they will tell you but still allow you to make your choice. If you want priority service, best to get the parts from them and not a third party. You wont be disappointed.

I couldnt find a better deal in San Jose and watched Colby with MT on a You Tube video, and called him at the shop. After telling him about my 08 2nd Gen. Prius Catalytic Converter being stolen in less than 2 minutes (watch TY videos about this) he gave me the information and quote over the phone and honored it to the fullest. I drove my very loud car to their location in South West Sacramento to have them install the new system and for my efforts also installed a shield to protect my pipes from any further tampering. Mathew was very helpful and made my visit safe and informative. A very pleasant experience and I would advise you give them a shot or at least let them give you a quote. I was taken care of in less that 120 minutes. PS. They will work with you if youre out of the area and work logistics with you.

This shop is definitely one I would recommend you go to if needing exhaust work. Haven’t had other services yet but I will consider it sense the staff is very friendly and knowledgeable. I can say their pricing is good as well compared to others in the area.

Ive had two cars replace their catalytic converters here in order to pass SMOG and the work was great. Both cars passed after this service.It was way cheaper to have this place cut and weld/clamp the cat instead of buying a whole replacement. Plus they know which cat you need, which relieves you of the headache of trying to finding the right CA SMOG legal part yourself (especially for a good price).Highly recommend them!

Excellent job on my Jeep. Very knowledgeable about suspension and the effects of rock crawling. The way they set everything up it will be difficult to damage. I was assured if damage occurs due to suspension clearance issues they would fix it. Thats an awesome guarantee.

I have been going to Muffler Tech since I was 18 and had my second car. They do top quality work twice as fast and 3 times cheaper than the competition. I called around to get quotes just to see if anyone could beat their prices on a resonator delete, most shops didnt know anything about my car and said bring it in, the others quoted me twice as much. The guys who work there are super knowledgeable especially Matthew.

I have used Muffler Tech twice now. First time was to repair a broke exhaust hanger bracket on a very rare BMW M3. I stopped by with no appointment on a weekend no less and they were able to quickly get me in and fix the bracket at no cost. This was above and beyond what I was excepting and showed their attention to customer service and great business practice.The second trip to Muffler Tech was to have a custom exhaust made for a BMW. Once again, they were able to quickly fabricate a custom exhaust system that met my specific requirements for road / track use. I do not take my cars to anyone and Muffler Tech is the only exhaust shop I trust for any custom or exhaust repair needs.

We had our Cadillac converter stolen as well as the 02 sensor off our Honda pilot an everywhere we called wanted over 900 dollars for just the part. Muffler tech found an aftermarket one an quoted us more then 300 dollars cheaper than anyone else and when it was all said and done even lowered the price for us. I highly recommend muffler tech for all your muffler needs. Thanks again to the guys at muffler tech!

Just had muffler tech redo the front half of my exhaust. They did an incredible job! Great price and did the job very quickly considering the huge amount of work required.

The hanger on both my tail pipes broke off and left a hole in the pipe. Went to this shop to have it fix. The guy who fix it just welded both sides of the hangers and call it done. Theres still leaks from the top and bottom. I told him theres still leaks because the holes are not completely seal. Then he told me I needed a new tail pipe because it was too close to the brake line n shock. I know I need a new tail pipe but I wasnt gonna let him do more work on it when he didnt do it right the first time. So he put it back on the lift and completely seal the leaks. I payed $40. The next day i took it to another shop to fix the pipe. The new shop bent and welded a new tail pipe plus welded a hole that was leaking, added a new hanger, rewelded the broken hangers n replaced one of the bushing all for just $55. I should of just went to the new shop instead but because this shop was closer and have good reviews, I thought they will do the job right. I guess u never know until you experience it.

These guys are truly the go-to mechanics for any range of muffler issues. Firstly they gave me a FREE inspection to find the problem (somthing Midas told me they charge $120 for) then they gave me a very fair quote on the spot that I decided to proceed with the repair on the spot (since I originally didnt intend on doing the repair that day). Finally, the result was great, the leaking flex pipe was replaced and my car preformance was instantly better on the spot. The only con was perhaps the wait time, as I did hang around there for a bit waiting for my cars turn; but in my understanding thats normal for busy shops. The actual repair took only like 20 mins. I would recommend this shop to anyone looking for a fair price with exceptional quality.
