They do an AMAZINGLY AMAZING job on the canes they make I had them make my daughters 1st birthday cake and it was massively huge and I only paid $50-$55 for it

I began shopping at Food Lion on Plantation about a year ago. I had primarily shopped at Kroger but was getting frustrated each time I shopped at Kroger. I had attempted numerous Kroger’s and found the same issues that I was seeing at the Kroger I usually visit, rude or what appeared to be miserable staff, long lines, and being out of things on my list, especially produce.I finally quit shopping at Kroger because an employee, of Kroger, who I didn’t know, told me how bad it was.I have NEVER had an issue with Food Lion. The employees at the Food Lion on Plantation are friendly, helpful, and make me want to be there. I find myself spending more time shopping because the environment at Food Lion on Plantation.Ask for Jessica in produce. She makes you feel like you’re shopping in your own kitchen.

Let me tell you about my Food Lion...my Food Lion is awesome. Between the products they stock, the pricing and the people that work there it is all awesome! Im a new mom and if I had a full cart, whatever line I went to the cashiers would unload my cart for me. They are just wonderful to deal with!!

This review is specifically for the bakery. Catherine/Kathryn (not sure which way she spells her name), but she is always so kind, helpful, and prompt. Any time I call to order a cake with short notice, she always comes through and does a great job. Because of this, she will always be my go-to.

Theres always an employee there that never wears her mask. Old as she is, she should know better. Other than that, the other employees are doing a good job.

Was shocked at how many new and different foods that Food Loin had that I had never seen at Kroger. Took half the time to check out at Food Loin than it does at Kroger and staff was actually smiling and friendly. Will be going back .

Great place to shop at. The cashier before me helped an older lady with her groceries and was very polite. All / most the workers do wear masks aswell if thats an issue for you.

The store was very clean and neat. They had everything I was looking 4 plus a lot of items other people are looking for. I did not have to wait long in line to check out. Very professional cashiers.

Good selection of produce

Normally very clean with courteous employees. I visited July 7, 2020 this afternoon around 4:30 & all of the young employees standing around conversating ignoring customers. All of the customers were going to a line where a senior employee was working to ring everyone up. Kudos to this senior employee. I had to load my own grocery cart with heavy bags while young employees stood around in conversation just watching & several just walked to join the conversation without offering to bag or load my groceries.

It seems like this Food Lion doesnt have the variety they used to have. Most of the employees are friendly and helpful.

Everything was fine until my mother and I decided to checkout our groceries where this redhead was cashiering. As we pulled up in the aisle and no words were spoken from her, nor any eye contact given, it became very clear how uncomfortable this girl was around us. She did not greet us, there was a purposeful avoidance of eye contact and even emotion. Actually, the only emotion we detected from her was the effort to not show any acknowledgement of us whatsoever; it looked as if she were bagging groceries for ghosts. At the time, I attempted to chalk up her cold, unfriendly, and shut off attitude to possible shyness or simply having a bad day. At one point, I tried to show her some warmth and friendliness by smiling when she managed to quickly glance at me, as I thanked her for handing me over my bags - I was hoping to break the ice and make her feel more comfortable to respond. I got no response/no signal on the other end: No smile, no “You’re welcome;” just a short, disregarding glare. She didn’t even say anything while giving us our receipt, as we were about to leave. Heading to the car, we agreed someone doesn’t like their job… until we got in the car and I looked back up and into the store windows and saw her smiling at, laughing with, conversing with, ACKNOWLEDGING, and RESPONDING to a woman in her checkout… who happened to be white. We are black... Light bulb! And behind the woman in checkout the redhead was interacting with was a black man who the woman in checkout was seemingly bringing into the conversation, but whenever the black man would speak to the checkout girl, continuing throughout his turn in the line, my mother and I both saw how her attitude and body language would change; how she would persistently overlook his attempt to converse or interact with her, doing whatever she could to have as little contact as possible with this man, just as she did with us. WE SAW how she was, once again, ignoring another black person and making an effort to show no acknowledgement or interest in what this man had to say. Her entire demeanor expresses “YOU DO NOT BELONG HERE.” We could FEEL something wasn’t right by how she was acting and treating us, from the start. In fact, any other person could see the difference if they had seen what we had seen through those windows. The ignorance in people like her is as REAL as what happened tonight. It’s just sickening and I hope her manager sees this so HER ACTIONS ARE KNOWN AND SHE IS FIRED. NO DISCRIMINATION OF ANY KIND SHOULD BE TOLERATED. My family and I have been loyal customers of Food Lion for years and have never been treated this way here before; Extremely unprofessional and WRONG. I do not expect much out of people, but I do expect RESPECT and WHAT IS RIGHT. To the redhead, I understand that you live what you LEARN (no one is born with this mentality, you were taught), but I pray that you realize what IS right, and what to change in YOU. You are missing a lot of good people, kindness, love, and a lot of the HUMAN experience in life, by limiting yourself to the people who merely “look like you” in your eyes. This is probably the best grocery store Ive ever been in....they know where everything is ...its clean...they are friendly...prices are good...im 45 years old....best foodlion store in America !!!!!...guaranteed....!!!!

This place is nice and clean and the staff is friendly. Prices are reasonable. Its a one stop place for dinner and a 6 pack or bottle of wine. Skip the hot foods.

My Food Lion always has the popular hard to find items example my favorite coffee creamer marshmallow mocha,yumm. Staff beyond nice. If they do not have it just ask the manager and he will get it.

The Food Lion I went to is close to my home. Given the time I chose to go to the grocery it was the best choice. I only needed a few things and I was able to get those items. It was a good choice.

Every time Im there there are always plenty of people to man the registers, and everybody is friendly and helpful. The store is clean and I love the gluten free selections! Produce is fresh, and theres always people to help in the meat department. If I need help at the service desk, someone is available quickly and staff communicates and will help out if lines are getting long. I dont HAVE to use self check out with no assistance if I dont want to.

Been sick six days today and drove to Food Lion just for a gallon of sweet tea. I bought Food Lion brand. Am severely allergic to citrus fruit. Got home, poured a large glass and took a big swallow. It tasted like a glass of lemon juice. I couldnt even taste the tea, and nowhere on the label was marked with lemon. This is the south where sweet tea is supposed to be just sweet tea. Thats why in restaurants they ask if you would like a lemon wedge, or place one on the glass rim. I really wanted a gallon of sweet tea, too sick to drive back out, and stuck with a gallon of lemon juice with a little tea that I cant drink. Not a happy shopper.
