Their brewed coffee was hugely disappointing. It was too strong and bitter. I am an advocate of small business but it’s coffee and really hard to mess up.

They may as well hire a bunch of sloths. This is the slowest coffee shop I have ever been to. I figured I would try it one more time after a bad experience, came back, waited 20 minutes for one car in front of me and my drink was messed up. I came back again because they gave me a free drink ticket and again sat and waited, this time it was almost a half hour with one person in front of me! They don’t apologize for the delay or anything. Horrible customer service, the owners should be ashamed!

Lovely little coffee stand. But there is so much more than coffee. There are frozen drinks, treats and food. Big breakfast menu which looks delicious. Staff were quick and friendly. No issues encountered. I would highly recommend this establishment. Cheers. Oh yeah, excellent Coffee!!.

I finally decided to try Java Detour after living in Redding for over 4 years. I was very impressed! They have a huge selection with flavors I never knew I needed, like butterfinger and Reese’s fraps. I tried the butterfinger and tried the watermelon cucumber mint refresher. Both were AMAZING! The refresher was 100 times better than Starbucks refreshers and came sparkling. So beyond delicious. The sizes are also huge for the price. Much cheaper than I expected. I will definitely be frequenting this place.

I am always nervous to veer off and try new coffee places, I like strong coffee- no sweeteners or frills so a lot of the chains and even some of the more local places I have tried in and around Redding have really fallen short in impressing me so I was surprised when Java Detour delivered me a really great quality cup of joe! Don’t be afraid to ask for a more custom order (adding almond milk, alternative sweeteners, etc) as they are very accommodating. This will be my go-to coffee stop when I’m in Redding, I really appreciate the good roast and taste of their coffee.

Slow down, be patient. Coffee was good but there were only two employees in the booth and it took a while, 20 minutes for three cars, two coffees each, mine was the third. Drive thru should somehow be quicker.

This place has the best fraps in town hands down ! Good priced ,nice staff they even have happy hour where all fraps are only 4.50 the white butterfinger is a must try

The coffee here is sub-par, the drive thru times are generally pretty lengthy and overall the customer service can be lacking.Today, a barista was pretty rude and refused to make food- because it was basically 1’o clock and she claimed her food station was shut down. Just pretty disappointing. Went to Manhattan Bagel and purchased food and coffee from there instead.

Java Detour made my custom drink that I cant get anyone else to make correctly in the first try, and they did it quickly! the prices are good for coffee shops, and the atmosphere was friendly and upbeat! what I could see of the shop was clean and the personel were well kept in appearance. this is a shop I will definitely be returning to for my Rockstar drinks and the rockin employees. great job ladies, keep up the good work!

Came here this morning for a bagel and some coffee... The service is awful. Customer service is such a huge deal especially in this kind of industry. The young lady with the black hair I believe to be newer, was awful and bitter. Seems as if she is not happy working there? I felt like a burden ordering my drink. I like to support small business but i guess I will stick to Starbucks or Dutch Bros.
