Unfortunately, I’ve only been once, so my review won’t be very reliable. However, on this Saturday evening, after sushi, my boyfriend and I decided to see what the excitement was all about and have dessert at this ice cream shop. Attached, you’ll find the menu. Turns out, 1.) This ice cream shop is highly populated. 2.) Is locally owned. 3.) Dairy is free of synthetic growth hormones and antibiotics! Although the use of hormones results in increased production of milk by cows, it has been clinically proven these injections have adverse effects on the cows! Furthermore, the dairy product may also pose a threat to the consumers (humans). 4.) Gluten-free options are available. 5.) Prices are reasonable and 6.) A variety of ice cream dessert options are available! My boyfriend enjoyed his Madagascar vanilla, root beer float. I tried it myself. It was DELICIOUS! I tried their cookies and cream- my all time favorite flavor; it was good, but I wasn’t exactly crazy over the taste. I do intend to return to try other flavors because I love homemade, quality ice cream! I may just order an ice cream cake for my upcoming marriage this weekend, try it along with my family and friends! 😋

Good ice cream with interesting flavors. Its a small ice cream stall walk up similar to the many places around. The ice cream is advertised as as hormone free. The seasonal flavor I tried was the pumpkin pie which was really good and not too sweet. If you are in the area its worth checking our. The prices are a little high.

Their ice cream is amazing. It’s local and they have so many kinds to choose from including seasonal flavors and non dairy. Every flavor I’ve ever gotten has been excellent.

Came here with my mom on a Sunday afternoon. Some of the best ice cream I have ever had and I say that as someone who does not eat ice cream very often. Not much interaction with the staff but they were kind. We also got a cup of ice cream that is made specially for dogs and it was at hit with mine. The outside of the shop has a nice atmosphere for guests to sit at. I will be back in the future.

The service was excellent. Also the ice cream sundae was the best in the Raleigh area. I will be returning and recommend that you give them a try.

My family loved this ice cream place. Lots of tables outside, some with umbrellas. About 15 to 20 different choices of ice creams, they have Sundaes and shakes and floats. Two of us had the banana split, we got to pick all three flavors, came with lots of banana and pineapple. It was amazing. They have a clean restroom as well. Ive heard the line can be long at night and on weekends. Theres a reason

NY Strawberry Cheesecake & Midnight brownie in a cone. Definitely loved the strawberry cheesecake over the midnight brownie but both were good.Lots of outdoor seating & they were fairly quick for a Sunday afternoon.

I wish I took pictures but this ice cream is soooo good. It is located off of the busy Glenwood Avenue road but if you are passing it, you should definitely stop by. You order at the window and they have a seated area outside and even a rocking chair! Reasonably priced and sized

Very creamy and fresh ice cream. Creative flavors. Sundaes include generous amount of hot fudge, nuts, whip, cream, & cherry on top. $4.85 for regular, around $6.25 for large, sundae, or banana split. Worth every penny. Outdoor seating only.

Delicious ice cream in cups cones sundaes shakes and sodas. Every flavor my family tried was delicious, shout-out to the banana pudding. Staff was quick and friendly. Definitely going back.

Amazing! I drive past this place every time I go to the mall and DT. I have wanted to try this since we moved here last year! This place did not disappoint. I love homemade ice cream! There was a line when we came (as there always is!!!) BUT the line moves very quickly. They have a lot of options to choose from as well as flavors and how to receive the ice cream. I got the butter pecan and it was delicious. The only thing I would suggest is to offer the sugar cones as well as the waffle cones. I would rather receive my ice cream on the sugar cone than the waffle cone. Will be back!!

This is our favorite go to spot, because not only are they just a few mins from our home, they have almond milk ice cream and its just as delicious as regular ice cream. I love their selections and the fact that they make my sundaes just the way I like them. The staff is has always been pleasant at each of my visits.

I’m always up for a late night ice cream run wherever whenever and I can’t believe I never stopped by FRESH. Their ice cream was really good. A little more than really good actually it was great and FRESH (oh yes I did it lol). Folks were there and I see folks out there nightly in the summer and all day too! I catered Fresh Local Ice Cream for my wedding dessert and was so pleased with the service and the ice cream! First off, the owner Jason is awesome. He is so friendly and punctual. I dont think I ever waited more than 10 minutes to receive a response from him. He answered so many of my questions and was very patient with me. On my actual wedding day, the ice cream truck arrived on time and all the guests raved about it. I was very pleased with my experience with Fresh and would highly recommend using them for any event youre planning! Or if you just want ice cream :)

Best Ice Cream in Raleigh, possibly North Carolina. Food came fast, even when busy. While it melted a little bit, it wasnt anything unmanageable.I will be returning. This place is fantastic

I cant believe this was my first time here! This is place is always packed when I drive by, especially on evenings & weekends. After trying their ice cream, I can see why!They advertise: Free Range Cows, Free of Artificial Hormones, Free of Antibiotics and Free of Pesticides.And I can attest by the quality of the taste of their ice cream that FRESH does deliver on their promises.I would recommend this place for a casual first-time date, as well as somewhere to bring the kids.They even have sundaes for pets!

The milkshakes here are wonderful and crazy delicious. I have never been disappointed by any flavors, and the staff are very kind. They even have 3-4 non dairy options for anyone lactose intolerant.

The best ice cream I have ever had in my life! They have tons of flavors but the peanut butter cup might be my favorite. Sometimes ice cream tastes a little artificial or fake but theirs tastes like actual peanut butter and they add chocolate fudge as well so it’s more chocolate!

The Carolina crunch was scrumptious! It was a hot Sunday afternoon and shady spots were coveted. The line was long but it moved fast and service was prompt and efficient. Fun spot to take the kids as there are a few games around the back. Love that it is sourced and made locally too.

I cant get enough of this ice cream! Every flavor is so good you cant go wrong! Milkshakes are super thick and creamy and to die for! You can mix different flavors together to get exactly what you want! My personal favorite is a half chocolate half cookie dough milkshake!

There is always a little crowd and line outside this place off of Glenwood, but it’s for a good reason. Once my partner and I went here we understood the hype! Lots of fun and delicious flavors.

I love FRESH. so much so that I regularly drive from durham and am so thankful for the day that I decided to give their food truck a try at my work complex. the quality of ice cream is top notch and I love that they have a standard menu in addition to seasonal flavors. my go to is a banana pudding milkshake or a root beer float with vanilla ice cream but honestly you can’t go wrong with any of the flavors. at the time of this writing they have a berry crumble flavor that is phenomenal!

I have eaten here multiple times because its in my neighborhood and today will be the last time. The ice cream is always in a melted and soupy like state. This is mostly because the employees keep the freezers open at all times even when its slow. I have mentioned this multiple times and they keep doing it anyway. I will take my business elsewhere.

I am very lactose intolerant (dairy makes me throw up) and I went to this location because it seems to be the only ice cream shop to serve nondairy dessert. I was nervous ordering because I didn’t want to get sick but the cashier assured me they make their nondairy ice creams in the morning before all the regular ice cream to avoid cross contamination and use a separate scooper when serving it. When I tell you that was the best nondairy ice cream I’ve ever had… I was so worried they accidentally gave me the real thing, lol! When I went home I took lactaid anyway since I’m so paranoid but this place seems to be mindful of allergies and it’s nice to be able to have a treat with my boyfriend who loves ice cream! Another thing that was nice is the fact I ordered first and while my boyfriend was ordering an employee handed me my ice cream through the ordering window instead of at the pick up window and I’m not sure if that was to make sure it didn’t accidentally touch regular ice cream at the pick up window or what but it seemed they only did that for me and I appreciate it!

First time here. My wife and I got the midnight brownie ice cream -- sooo good and super addicting. My daughter got a kids sized chocolate with sprinkles. She would hardly talk to us while she was eating, which tells us how much she liked it. There was enough seating outside for several families, and i felt safe and relaxed with the surrounding environment. Great ice cream and great location.

We stopped here on our way back to the hotel. When we go on vacation/business trips we like to try out homemade ice cream places. This place did not disappoint. We loved the samples we got (chocolate peanut butter cup and birthday cake, both were delicious and would have been great choices to get). We both really enjoy trying out cookie doughs and mint chocolate chip so we got one of the flavors of the month which was super chunk cookie dough (superrrrr yummy) and white mint chip (this one was yummy as well). Overall, I would get all of them again but a definite preference for the cookie dough and peanut butter ones!! I would try out other flavors as well; I dont think we could go wrong with any of them! I think this is THE BEST homemade ice cream I’ve EVER had! So rich and creamy! The texture is so smooth. Not too sweet and not too rich. Honestly just right. The midnight brownie and salted caramel fudge is da bomb!!!!!

I am a self proclaimed professional ice cream eater and milkshake lover. I’ve been here a few times and opted to get the milkshake for the first time tonight. 2nd worst milkshake I’ve ever had. The thickness resembled water. As if my milkshake was allowed to melt in the hot sun before I was served it, which didn’t happen.Got the blueberry crumble ice cream and it was one of the better ice creams I’ve ever had. I will be back and continue to support this place because the ice cream is delicious.However I will NEVER order a milkshake from here again and I will make note to inform everyone to only stick to the ice cream. Cause the ice cream is delicious and the textures are amazing. However the milkshakes ruin the amazing ice cream experience that you will have here.1 star if I never had the ice cream.5 stars if I never had the milkshake.

They made me an amazing custom ice cream birthday cake for my husband in a matter of hours. It was delicious and a great size for a great price!Update: I was so happy with our first cake that my husband surprised me with an ice cream cake for Valentines. They did a terrible job with the writing and chopped off the whipped cream on the side. Still tasted good, but if I was giving it to someone I would have been very upset.

I will say ok place. I got the midnite brownie in a regular cup size 2 go. They have raised the prices since my last visit but that’s everything these days and can’t do anything. They also now have a couple of locations now around town. But prices as well. Has some patio seating where you could sit and eat your ice cream or get it to go. Also plenty of parking @ this location compared to the others. Would come back again.

The ice cream here is the best in the area. They have two other fresh locals in Cary & Apex, which are closer for us, but we still drive out to this location almost every week, because its that good. Wide variety of flavors, Carolina crunch being the family favourite.

Best Banana Pudding Ice Cream EVER!!! The price can seem a little pricey, but I feel like you are paying for the quality ingredients and I don’t mind paying for that if I am getting a quality product! Granted the weather is changing, this place hits the spot when you need an ice cream fix! The line during the summer can be a but long, but they move fast! Customer service is great!

It gets a 🌟 for being located on a major street, down the street from the mall and near the highway 🌟 the white mint chocolate chip was very taste. 🌟 enjoyed several rounds of cornhole 🌟 the staff was friendly. Beware the icecream does melt quickly because it is natural. Nice place for a date night outing too.

We usually stop here after visiting Umstead or Crabtree Lake. Wonderful ice cream (seriously-the strawberry is the best Ive EVER had)...only drawbacks are its a little pricey (understandable since its all locally sourced) and their allergy protocol could be a little better advertised/communicated. We received a cup of a non-dairy variety with another type of ice cream (from our order) smeared around the edge. I took it back and she was quick to fix it, and informed me that I could request a separate scoop be used on future orders. With the severity of some food allergies, I think it would be better practice for the employee to ask when the order is made for a non-dairy variety or, at the very least, rinse the scoop between varieties/flavors.

OMG! Everyone in my family looks forward to getting ice cream from FRESH. Local Ice Cream whenever we go to Raleigh. I always get the Hot Fudge Sundae, and theyre not stingy with the hot fudge or the portion of ice cream! My husband loves their banana shakes, and the kids like that they offer samples of the different flavors, so theyre sure to get something theyll enjoy. I can go for a sundae right Now!!!

Hands down some of the best (if not the best) ice cream I have ever had. Gluten-free items are clearly marked on the menu and the staff is friendly and very willing to answer any questions about ingredients/safety. They also offer almond milk ice cream options for those with dairy/lactose intolerances.
