Really good!! Great tasting burgers. My husband got the down towner. He was a little disappointed with the price/size ratio. I got the lunch special thing that came with fries and mine was cheaper, came with more, and was larger. But overall tasted great! Great customer service. Place was clean and everyone friendly. Definitely will come again!

It’s a cool vibe diner styled restaurant and fun retro decor.. Definitely a hidden gem in old Overland Park.

Stopped in for a bite to eat. I really liked the double bacon cheeseburger. I didnt like the fries that much because they were soggy, but Ill still come back and try it again. Id recommend it too!

Absolutely a gem of downtown Overland Park. Highly recommend stopping here if youre in the mood for a fantastic burger.Been wanting to go here for a while now and finally had the chance to stop in for lunch. Nice, cozy atmosphere with bar-style seating.I got The Bobby, which came with lettuce, pickles, grilled jalapeños, lightly grilled onions, cheese, and two patties. Delicious. Juicy patties, onions slightly browned but still crunchy melted into the cheese, perfectly done jalapeños. Also got a side of 50/50 (definitely the way to go), onion rings were crispy with flavorful batter and the softer fries were a nice contrast.Finished up with a chocolate banana malt that was extremely good. Hard to find somewhere that uses quality chocolate ice cream like this.Absolutely stop here if you get the chance. Definitely time for a nap now though lol.

We went here because it seemed like a cute little burger place and they did not disappoint... burgers were amazing. Very happy they had a Veggie burger as well as most burger places do not, the regular burgers are thin patties which are amazing, not filled with grease. Would absolutely return and eat there again. Staff was also nice. LOVE the decor they have up.

Jalapeño burger is among the best, fries are perhaps the best Ive ever had. Theyve got the crispness to fluff ratio perfect and they taste phenomenal. The chocolate shake is nearly identical to a Wendys Frosty. Only detractor I can think of is on the half and half fries and onion rings I wouldve liked one or two more onion rings.

This buried gem of downtown Overland Park has been discovered! Small place with a great vibe and fantastic food and ice cream. I can recommend the peanut butter banana shake. Great selection of burgers and my favorite is any one of them with cheese and grilled onions.

I had not eaten here for quite some time and I decided to stop in and get an amazing cheeseburger today! I absolutely love the new and bigger fries!! I originally heard of this place by seeing one of the local news channels doing a story about them and had an overweight guy drooling for a cheeseburger and fries LOL :) I love supporting a small family owned/ran local business! I am so thankful that Matt and his family have ALL survived this Covid Pandemic!! Cant wait for some form of normalcy again soon.

Not bad. Quite small and lots of young people behind the counter with no masks in sight. Ordered a chocolate malt. Took a bit longer than expected but very good. 100s of caloríes per sip. Lots of retro photos/posters.

Friendly and helpful staff. Delicious burgers! Too many yummy options for dessert, but I can personally vouch for the cherry limeade. It comes with a scoop of sherbet! We will definitely be back!

Atmosphere:Tiny little place. Based on a barstool count, Id estimate a capacity of about 20 patrons (at least, during non-covid times). Staff are incredibly friendly. This place is family owned, and it feels that way. The man who took my order was talking with an obvious regular at the counter the entire time I was there. Even so, they accepted card and even apple/google pay and tap-to-pay and all that good stuff.Had a fry in the car on the way back. too hot to taste.Burger:I ordered The Sassy. 1/4 lb w/ swiss cheese, bacon, and grilled onions. I added lettuce, but you can also add tomato, pickles, etc. The burger smells like truffle/umami but doesnt have anything like that on it. Its just savory goodness. Has crispy edges like a smashburger but is still juicy. Burger alone was $8. I give it a 8/10 on flavor and a 8/10 on value.Fries:Not bad. Come in a small bag with some outside the bag as well. Seemed unintentional, unlike Five Guys. Seasoned very lightly with salt and maybe lemon juice? Not sure. I prefer my fries well-seasoned, so this was a bit of a let down personally. Fries cost $3. I give it a 6/10 on flavor and a 7/10 on value.Overall: I recommend this place. Im either too used to five guys peanut oil, or they use a unique oil to fry their foods. Everything had a distinct taste.My stomach did hurt after. I think it was a bit greasy.Overall, 👍.

Not sure why this was our first time trying this place but soooooo glad we did. I am a burger fanatic and this one was PERFECT! Got the double with cheese and it was cooked perfect, right amount of grease not to much and that outstanding crust you get from a real flat top cooked burger. Fries were also cooked perfect not mushy and not overcooked light seasoning and fresh! The staff...outstanding customer service so friendly! We will back for sure and I will be recommending them to anyone tired of looking for that perfect burger this is where its at! Thank you guys!!

My wife and I visited for the first time on 7-7-21, and had the patty melt with a side of what the sign said was house cut fries. Each patty melt had one thin beef patty, onions, pickle and cheese. The rye bread was not grilled on butter or whatever, and was dry. We tore most of the bread off, because there was not enough beef to fill the bread. Most all patty melts I have had are half pound patty’s, and this was 3oz. The fries were cooked wayyyyy too much and were hard and crunchy. They remained uneaten. All-in-all, at least for us, it was a big disappointment.

Best burger and fries/ring combo ever! Just tried it on my kids recommendations. Ill have to try the shakes next time, they were whirling out the door.

We accidentally came upon this place as we were actually trying to go to a breakfast place with a similar name, but we smelled the great food coming from The Snack Shack and figured we have to give it a try! We will be back!

The best burgers in KC in my opinion. The fact that it is an old school malt shop/counter establishment in a great part of old historic Overland Park just adds to the enjoyment. Dine inside or eat out next to the park, either way this is a must eat for any serious burger fan in the metro area. We ate there Friday 4/2 and I had the Bob which was lots of cheese and jalapenos and it was the best one Ive had so far.My only complaint was the onion ring portions are getting awfully small as in I believe we got 5 onion rings, and not massive ones when we ordered.

Quaint place in Overland square district. Had the double meat hamburger with the 50/50 fries and onion rings. Ate outdoors in the side patio/yard area. Worth the visit and highly recommend.

They have smash burgers versus traditionally formed patties which is interesting. Everything is very greasy but satisfying. I would not recommend the root beer float however, because they use soft serve ice cream versus scooped ice cream and it doesnt blend with the root beer at all.

I will definitely be back!! Today was my first time eating at the snack shack and I am so glad I decided to stop. I had just a basic bacon cheese burger and the 50/50 which is fries and onion rings. The burger was cooked so good. Not too greasy but the perfect amount. The fries were lightly seasoned and not too crispy but not too soft either. The cashier was super friendly. I also loved all of the pictures on the wall. Thanks for a great lunch gentlemen!!

This place is the Bomb, i ordered a Bobby hamburger with cheese and jalapenos, it was Amazing. The staff was helpful and the food was ready in 5 minutes. I will deffinatelly come back with the family.

Pretty dang good greezy burger. I was disappointed they didnt have onion rings, but the fries made me forget about it. We ordered at the window and sat at one of the tables. It was a beautiful day and a beautiful burger!! I will be back.

We love this place. It’s not on the menu but the dr. Pepper whip is delicious. It’s dr. Pepper and ice cream mixed like a shake. Really good burgers and fries and I enjoy that the Office was playing.

The service and people who worked there were very friendly and outgoing. The milkshakes awesome, they were thick and didnt turn into a soupy mess in 5 minutes.This is definitely a place I would visit again to grab a burger with the family. Its a small place, with a 60s kinda feel. Had a veggie burger pretty good kinda falls apart but tastes good. So do the fries yum! A chill, cute place. Coming here again.

Quite honestly my wife and I are just short of professional burger connoisseurs and have been to just about every burger spot in the Kansas City limits and Johnson county and will proclaim the best burgers, per our tastes and standards, are here at the snack shack! My usual is the Bobby so I can get some spice with the jalapeños and flavor from the grilled onions and my wife’s gets a traditional double cheeseburger. My word we always find ourselves contemplating a second burger order while still wiping our mouths from our initial order. What makes it even more worth the visit are the onion rings...my wife is very picky that they not be over battered nor too thin to even get much onion flavor and these onion rings are in the Goldilocks zone! I promise you you won’t be disappointed and might even develop an addiction and find yourself adding this place to your navigation “favorites”. Do yourself a favor...allow your inner burger addict this savory pleasure!

Very pricy for fast food. No meal deals and individually priced ... $7 for a tenderloin (tasted great except for all the pepper but good sized), $3 for fries (not very much flavor), one size drink $2 -- over $25 for two. Upside is that the food is freshly cooked on the spot and the people are quite friendly.

We love snack shack! It’s a small counter service restaurant with good food. We go here several times a month for dinner or just ice cream! The burgers are flavorful and cooked just right. The fries and onion rings are seasoned well and crispy. The ice cream is soft serve with lots of options for mix in, shakes, and cones. The service is also great! The employees know us now and are also prompt with bringing food and refills.

Amazing classic diner style burgers. Theyre THAT good. They have a caramelized crust from a flat top and are served fresh, hot, and juicy. The fries are good and served in generous portions. I drive 30 minutes out of my way to come here.

I was thinking about visiting this place today for lunch for the first time. So, I called to get some information when the nasty Owner just purposefully hung the phone up on me. I called back to ask him if it was a mistake, and he Proudly said “No”. It was a very strange response. That was enough of a Red Flag for me not to eat here.

Ever since we heard the story of the origin of The Snack Shack (apparently a teenager established the business with help from his parents and friends) we have supported them. I stopped by this week with my mask on to pick up dinner for my family and was pleased to see their front door was locked and their tiny dining area was closed. The sign on the door indicated that I was to go to a side window and place my order through a mesh screen. When I approached the screen I noticed all the employees I could see were not wearing face coverings. I assumed someone would cover their face before taking my order. That didnt happen. They asked me what vehicle I was in and promised to bring my order out to me. I assumed someone would mask up before bringing me my order. That didnt happen. Im not sure I will ever return. I guess they dont recognize that were all living and dying in the midst of a pandemic. Its so sad they dont respect their customers or their potential customers.

I love their Cheeseburgers. Their beef is much better than 99% of restaurants Ive had. Its worth the price 100%.

The tenderloin had a funny taste as if the meat was bad. The fries had no seasoning what so ever. Took one bite and spit it out. Returned the food and they acted like it was my fault. To make it worse both cooks had their masks draped off one ear the whole time I was waiting for my meal.

This is another one of those places I had passed by and never had a chance to stop in until now. I friend wanted to go out for burgers and suggested this place. Since I had not been here to eat before, I was game. They have a limited menu (burgers and some sandwiches) fries, soda drinks, and ice cream cone or concrete for dessert. One orders up at the counter. If you are sitting outside, there is a window and they will call you to pick up your meal. You still have to order your food from the inside. Otherwise it is limited seating, with 50s style decor on the inside. Service was quick, and the burgers are homemade, not pre-frozen panel. Both Burger and fries were good and tasty, prices are decent as well. They also had cherry lime aide, with real lime ice cream! It was such a nice night, we went back to order a twist cone for dessert.

We absolutely LOVE this place-one of the best burgers that you can find in the area. It’s all classic fare and delicious. Plus, the outdoor seating is fun and allows kiddos to run wild in the new and updated park!

Called in an order and picked up from the outside window. Extremely popular and fairly long socially distanced spaced line. Had some special instructions for the 2 cheeseburgers we bought and they nailed it. The burgers are smashburger style...thin crispy patties. Seasoned fine, but not what I had in mind (a thick juicy cheeseburger) when I ordered for the first time.

Wow! Ive always heard great things about this place and now Im smacking myself for waiting so long to try it! I ordered a, Down-Towner which was a juicy burger with onions, and onion ring, pickles, cheddar, and BBQ sauce. It was delicious! Their fries and rings are amazing as well! The seating is a little tight inside, but there is outdoor seating available if you wish and the weather is nice. Ill most definitely be bringing a friend or family member next time. Easy recommendation!

Staff and owner very friendly and no one is a stranger. Heard about this place in Feast magazine so decided to stop when we were in Overland Park. Glad we did!

If you want a classic, juicy, delicious burger then come here. Fries and rings are great too. Coffee was black and hot, shakes are cold and tasty. Small little place with outdoor seating. Cant think of a better burger in the area.

An absolutely splendid experience. I showed up after work for a burger and fries, both of which were delicious. Its a small, quaint business. And I very much like the feel of the location. I definitely will be back to eat again. I highly recommend trying this place out.
