I got a good deal on a set of tires, and the customer service was excellent. They took me in right away and everything was finished ahead of the time I expected. They looked over my brakes and recommended getting them changed soon. They were honest and didnt try to sell me on it right away, the mechanic said I shouldget it done within the next oil change. The facility was clean an I will definitely be back whenever I need a mechanic. Honest people will always get my service!

Had my car repaired at Ewing. They were nice people. I didnt have a problem with costumer service. They were a bit backed up. However. That is understandable coming off of the pandemic.

We were told by Midas that our daughter’s car needed almost $2,200 in work. Because of some discrepancies in their estimate, and the fact that we’re out of state, we decided to get a second opinion. Rock at Ewing was incredibly helpful. After squeezing us in on a Saturday, he told us the car is fine, but we should have the brakes checked in the next few months. We deeply appreciated his honesty!! If you’re looking for an honest mechanic, I would highly recommend Ewing Auto Repair!

They tow cars from private communities without warning and want excessive storage rate. Although signs are posted, according to my rental contract there should have been a two-day warning before getting towed (which would have been nice if you have guests for a few hours or a day).The did not respect this warning, but towed on the first day. Then they charged the maximum storage fee per day. Even parking downtown at main street will only cost half as much as they charge per day in their very remote location.

I had an incident where i parked my car in a lot on Friday evening while out to dinner. the sign in the lot stated parking exclusive for residents and customers. the sign did not state numbered parking spaces were not to be parked in. I called the towing company I didnt get the persons name but he definitely told me he was the manager. I asked him if he had my car and explained the sign in which he rudely responded its common courtesy!! He told me it would cost $100.00 to get my car where to pick it up and rudely hung up on me. Went to pick up my car. Paid the 100 in cash yes the manager did apologize but in reality that is not how you do business. Especially when you can see the sign clearly does not have exclusions to where you cant park. Keep the cash its obvious you needed it more than me. thanks

These guys run a towing racket where they will tow you from private parking lots they have entered into contracts with-such as Burger King on Chapel. Then they add gas charges, administration fees and even a charge for using your debit card to pay the fine to get your car back. I suggest you find a more reputable company to do business with.

The guys there are great and will give you more than a fair price! it was gonna be a few hours, so they not only ran me home but also picked me up when the truck was ready. They not only did a great job in replacing the wheel bearing hub assembly, but also found and corrected a brake pad problem for no extra charge. Also installed a brake light and only charged me $2 for the bulb. What can I say? Place is awesome! You wont go wrong by taking your vehicle there. Great mechanics!! Highly recommend!

My sons truck was fixed here after another mechanic said would be triple the cost. Ewing fixed it for much less and it runs great. Definitely recommend this company.

I broke down while driving from Baltimore to visit family in Newark. My car was towed here by police. They offered to keep my car for the weekend and gave me a 15% off coupon for my service. Rock called me as soon as he knew what was going on and even offered that my Dad could call if he had any questions. He sent a tow truck to the rental car office to pick me up and was super pleasant throughout the whole process. Totally recommend them!

It obviously sucks to get towed. Here at Ewing Auto Repair and Towing this company did its best to make me feel less frantic about my situation. There was an issue with my car post tow, and the manager Rocky and his employees were nothing but understanding and respectful! They helped me out more than I could ask for, they really value their customers.

I dropped my car off in the morning asking them to change my oil and check/fix my breaks. I told them I would need my car back that day and they were incredibly accommodating. Everyone I spoke to was friendly. I never felt like they were taking advantage of me. My car was in and out in the same day and Im very pleased with the work that was done.

While I can’t speak to the repair side, their towing company side is terrible and can’t figure out how to be legitimate business people. They towed MY car from MY parking spot where I live, and then when I told them it was my spot, they said “Oh” and still made me pay. When called later, they said I wouldn’t have had to pay if I told them it was my spot. This led to a whole fiasco where the main guy was horribly rude to my friends and family. Never let these people take your money, and question everything they do

Bills for auto repair can get kind of steep and some mechanics might make you wonder whether everything on the list was strictly necessary. But, I know these guys will give me a fair deal.

We started taking our cars for service to Ewing Towing and Auto Repair about 3 years ago, after the Subaru dealership told us we needed $6,000 in repairs on our 2000 Legacy. The mechanics at Ewing told us the car was in great shape and only needed an oil change. Since then we’ve been going to Ewing and have been consistently pleased with their work. These are honest and competent mechanics who have kept our cars running smoothly. Their prices are very reasonable. They even drive us home or to work when we drop the cars off, and pick us up when the repairs are done.Those complaining about getting their car towed would do well to park in authorized locations. In the time it took to write a nasty review, they could have found a proper parking spot. This is Newark, not NYC.

I took my Ford Escape to them to have the brakes checked and two tires replaced. They got a great price on quality tires and checked the brakes. Most places will tell you that the brakes are Ok but I you should think about getting them changed soon I know the scam. I already checked them and they looked fine. They said they were good to go and I am glad to see that they are a reputable place that doesnt take advantage of people. I had the wife drop off the car. If you know anything about how this scam works you know that they prey on women all the time. Not Ewings.....they did a great job and I am going there again the next time I need anything done on my vehicle.

LEFT STRANDED in an area I completely unfamiliar with... no help at all from this scummy company. The creepy stacker lurks in the shadows waiting for you to leave your car. No one was there, even though they claim on theyre open 24 hours on their online website. The guy is very rude response being.. whatever... repeated several times. UNBELIEVABLY AWFUL ... DO NOT TRUST THIS CRIMINAL COMPANY... THEY ARE PREDATORY STALKERS WHO WILL RIP YOU OFF.

I went to Ewing Auto Repair because they were a repair pal with Carmax, who always has an at least 2 week wait before the next available appointment and I needed work done now. Ewing worked on my car right away. They were fast, their prices extremely fair, and they were all very friendly. It was a pleasure doing business with them. I see no need for Carmax repair shop in my future. Im glad that I found Ewing Auto Repair.

Wow absolutely terrible. I called to see if I could get my car looked at because it had been in an accident and the the guy automatically thought I wanted body work done. He immediately said we dont do that! I said your website says you do auto repair. He said well we dont match paint. I said sir Im not talking about cosmetic body repair I need to be able to drive the car. He started talking over me and then said Well take it somewhere else! Terrible customer service and very rude. Ive been looking for a close reliable mechanic because I have two cars and need someone I can rely on on a regular basis. Sir I certainly will take BOTH of my cars somewhere else and you just cost your business money!

I had my car towed by Ewing a couple years ago for parking in the wrong spot at my friends apartment. My friend should have told me where to park so I didnt get towed instead she told me where I had to go in order to get my car. I went to Ewings shop and and got my car out of their garage. They were very helpful and since my first run in with them I have had them tow me in after a mild car crash. All in all they run a good shop and have always been above board with me unlike other shops Ive used before.

Had an issue with a tow, Rock was reasonable and professional at reaching an equitable resolution. Have used them for tows in the past and will continue to use them.

(She might have to take off work because of this incident) The guy continued to be completely rude to us, with his main response being.. whatever... repeated several times (how professional...NOT) He handed me a receipt with the tow time 7:34pm... I made a purchase in the Burger King at 7:05pm and was gone from the parking lot from 7:15pm to 7:24pm with my cold BK drinks in hand. The first call I made to the company was at 7:33pm. How can you tow my car at 7:34pm if I am standing in the parking lot already calling about my MISSING VEHICLE at 7:33pm. UNBELIEVABLY AWFUL SERVICE... DO NOT TRUST THIS CRIMINAL COMPANY... THEY ARE PREDATORY STALKERS WHO WILL RIP YOU OFF.

I had had issue with blinkers not working and the dealership tried to charge me $500. Ewing did some soldering and charged me $100 for labor. Recommend these guys to anyone. No nonsense and you never overpay for things you dont need fixed.

We took our Ford Edge to Ewing Auto Repair, was charged a $95 fee to have them check whats wrong with the car. They came back and told us that the issue was the oil pressure sending unit and that it would be about $204 to fix, which was double of what other mechanics quoted us. We left and took it back to more than one mechanic and they all confirmed that the issue was not the oil pressure sending unit, it was something completely unrelated. We went back to Ewing Auto Repair and told the owner (Kevin) that they misdiagnosed the car and if they could check it again, Kevin refused and told us not to come back and also declined to give us a refund. *** Dont bring your car here, if they check it and the problem they identify isnt the actual real problem, they will not refund you and just try to say theyre right, and if they fix something that wasnt supposed to be fixed, they will probably charge you again to fix the real problem, we didnt get to that point, thank god! Also, many mechanics dont charge ANYTHING to just check whats wrong with the car, we were just in a rush to get it fixed. Make a few calls to other mechanics to see which dont charge to check the car, dont spend a dime here. Also, always try to install a camera on the hood of your car looking down at your engine area, its for great use when the mechanics try to do/say anything fishy and will serve for great evidence in court!! (Youve all seen those Youtube Clips Im sure) Im speaking with a lawyer and will proceed with a small claims court case for the $95 fee and any applicable damages my lawyer recommends. This may end up costing them more money and time than if they just gave us the refund, Ill update this review on the outcome of this common sense case.

Look I dont know what these bogus reviews are about but Ewings is great and will take care of you. They offered me a car for the price of my engine and even took money off of a Tow to Midas. Then when we got the wrong Midas in Newark they took us into the one in Elkton with no hassle! Great guys that know their cars and do great work and will look out for you and take care of you!

I visited my daughter at University Courtyard Apartments tonight, not knowing (though she should have known) that my car needed a visitor tag. 90 minutes later, I came out and realized that my car had been towed.Ewing Towings dispatch told me to retrieve my car at their office. When I arrived at 8:15 pm, the office was locked and dark. I again called the dispatcher, who told me that the driver would be there in just a few minutes.I waited for almost 2 hours in Ewings dark, unlit parking lot on a cold, windy November night. I called the dispatcher several times, who repeated Hell be there in just a few minutes. I told her they needed to send someone else, but she told me theres only one driver. Finally, she said,hes on a police call and hell be there in 30 minutes.An hour after my last call, two trucks pulled up together, each with two towed cars. 4 men got out. One unlocked the gate and took me to my car so that I could retrieve my wallet. I asked if it had been a busy night, but he said, No, actually, its been kind of slow.Apparently I was lied to repeatedly by the dispatcher. The apologies from the men were minimal. Obviously my nighttime wait was of no interest or concern to these men. I would certainly not use Ewing Towing if I had any choice, if they treat their customers so arrogantly.

On a road trip over 400 miles from home on 95 our car started sounding and driving funny . We took the first exit thank God it happen to be the exit to Ewing . They fixed the problem quickly and were very nice and professional !Great place to get your vehicle fixed!

I am very happy to say that my interaction with Ewing Towing and Auto Repair has been nothing short of delightful! Recently, my engine blew on my car and I called Towing to come tow my vehicle and provide me with estimate on repair. They kindly informed me that my engine was blown and they were able to find another engine for me. I paid a deposit of $2,000 which was request. The next day I found out that my cars engine was faulty due to a manufacture recall and would be completely covered by the dealership. Well, I called Ewing Towing and expected to hear that my deposit money was lost but Rock informed me that he would refund my money and also assisted when my car was towed to the dealership. So, I can say happily that we are now lifetime fans of Ewing and will be calling them for all future repairs! Thank you for being so kind and professional in refunding our money but also being of so much assistance to us!

Their predatory towing practice at the lot next to Iron Hill Brewery in Newark should be stopped.Car was parked in a space that had no signs for no parking all the others had signs. Looked to see if maybe the sign had been run over also.

Horrible customer service. I attempted to call in a vehicle that was parked in my spot to be towed and the tower didnt show up for 3 hours after the call was placed. I couldnt park with groceries in my car and had to park in the middle of the street just to bring in my groceries.

The gentlemen at Ewing Towing have been my mechanics for nearly 20 years. They are, in a word, extraordinary! They are knowledgeable, thorough, attentive, good-natured, quick, honest and fair.I can come to them and say, “It makes that clunk clunk thwapita thwapita thwapita sound,” and they can give me a pretty good educated guess as to what might be. But they never make a promise they can’t keep, and always follow up their suspicions with, “…but we’ll know for sure when we get a look at it.” Most often they’re right! And they should know, Mr. Ewing was the head of a brand name car dealership’s service department and won a regional award for the thoroughness of his knowledge before he opened his own business – Ewing Towing.Every used car they’ve inspected for me, they’ve honestly told me what they’ve thought of its condition, its appropriateness for me (over the years, they’ve come to know how I drive!) and its value as an economic investment. I’ve never been disappointed in their recommendations. They’ve worked on at least 8 cars for me in the past nigh on 20 years, and whatever the make or model, they know how to make each one work and work well.They are attentive and thorough. They often find little things I didn’t notice, and mention wear and tear that needs to be addressed before it reaches the critical stage. But, they never do any work I haven’t asked them to do and will honestly tell me how soon they think something ought to be done, and how long is reasonable and safe to wait. They always let me make the decision. (Except about oil changes and tune ups; they are adamant they MUST be done regularly and will frown at me in a good natured way when I’m overdue! It’s all very cordial!)They are fair. Their estimates are almost always spot on, and if something isn’t done up to snuff (a true rarity!) they take care of it, no questions asked, and keep additional costs to a minimum.They’re honest. If there’s a way to work around a problem that will save me a ton of money and is safe, they’ll suggest it. If a used or salvaged piece will work as effectively as a new one, they’ll offer to use one. But again, they let me decide.Life is busy, and they know that. They get me in as soon as they can, and never hold on to my car for any longer than they need to. For instance, there are no long delays for parts, such as I have experienced elsewhere. I’ve actually known them to drive across town to get a part I need because they know I need the car in a rush. They’re very accommodating when they can be. I can’t recommend them highly enough. (And no, I’m not related to any of them!)
