If you like sour, chewy candies, youve found your heaven. Theres also some sweets and chocolate (and a lot of licorice if thats also your jam).I like to go, grab a bag and grab a little bit of everything I want to try. But be careful! The cost can really add up. Its not cheap, but a nice place to go and carefully pick and chose the candies you like. I can easily spend $10 here with a not very full bag of candy.

Sockerbit sells a fantastic array of Swedish candies and treats, including delicious gummies, chocolates, marshmallows, hard sweets and licorice - all varieties that are either difficult or even impossible to find outside of Scandinavia. My absolute favorites are the giant gummy bananas and raspberries, the soft and fruity marshmallows and anything that’s either tart or cola-flavored. Best of all, they have a website at which you can purchase their entire selection of goodies online, which means that after you go in to sample to discover what you liked best, you can simply go to the site to order those favorites in bulk in 1/4 to 1lbs amounts. As a wanton and unapologetic candy addict, I just can’t recommend Sockerbit highly enough.

Sockerbit is fun to shop at, since the large European candy assortment(liquorice, chocolates, other sweets) are in bins that you scoop out with a scoop and fill your own plastic bag. The store is spotlessly clean, the candy quality excellent, the workers friendly.

Being Swedish and have moved to USA just two years ago I do still crave Swedish candy. I was happy to discover that I happened to be in the area of Sockerbit last time I visited New York and even though the prices were high i enjoyed my shopping ;) The staff need more accurate knowledge and facts about what they’re selling though. I had to tell other customers about products because the cashier/sales person did not know the answers to simple questions about flavors etc.In a regular candy store this might not always be necessary but when u work in a store that focus on international (Swedish/Scandinavian in this case) most of ur customers won’t have a clue about the products that are sold.

Fantastic selection! Best candy store Ive ever been to. — All the gummi stuff is the high quality real sugar kind, none of that high fructose corn syrup junk. — So many candies I never heard of, plus if licorice is your thing, youve stuck gold! (But if it isnt, still plenty to choose from.)

Being a Swede now residing in the US, this truly is a heavenly place to visit when in NYC. Great selection and unbelievably good quality candy! As a matter of fact, every piece of candy I ate from Sockerbit tasted even better than the same candy back home in Sweden where your average picknmix candy is often stale. Im hoping a lot of Americans (not just Swedes) find their way in here so that more people can discover just how fabulous Swedish candy is.

Great variety of candy, including some curious salty+sweet candies that are unusual but tasty. Most candy is fresh, and though its a bit pricey, the fantastic number of options more than makes it for the cost. They have pre-made selections, but also let you mix and match from dozens of candy types.

Do yourself a favor and walk away from Dylans Candy Bar for a minute. Head down to the west village where youll recognize nothing, and love everything. Even the usual tastes, the sour gummies, for instance, have a taste that just isnt from around these parts. Its the only place where Ive ever found naturally flavored watermelon candy, and its marvelous....Just stay away from what they call The Swedish Challenge, unless youre truly daring.

Ive yet to try the candy, but I already know its going to be good. What made me give this place a two-star review is (first off): that while the store is in fact white, it feels quite dirty or unkempt. I was surprised, as the words Swedish and clean always seemed related in my mind. Secondly, and not less importantly, the staff member I saw in the store was not friendly and helpful, but aloof and did not seem to care for or enjoy the store she works for. She asked me you dont want your receipt? and when I said that I wanted my receipt she just said okay and proceeded to not give me my reciept. If Im going to be paying 13 dollars per pound for candy the Swedes in Sweden get for cheap, I at least want good service!

Sockerbit is a Swedish candy store. Expect clean lines, a sleek modern look, and a family friendly atmosphere. It’s like the IKEA of candy shops! Price is comparable to Dylans and Deweys at $12.99/lb. There are shops like these all over Sweden. It’s great to have one in NYC. A common Swedish candy is licorice. I can’t get used to the taste but luckily there are plenty of gummies and chocolates, let alone famous Swedish fish! The candy is not very sweet but pure sugar, nonetheless.

This place is totally fun! If you like to look at a lot of unusual candies from Scandinavia that you can buy by the single piece youll be like a kid in the candy shop here!We stopped in and got stuff to put on Easter chocolate bark. They had adorable gummy mushrooms and gummy sunny side up eggs, Little Frogs, pastel M&M looking candies, and much more. If you been to a wedding anytime in the last 25 years you know that a lot of people use jordan almonds for favors and you could break your teeth on them since the candy shell is so thick. Sockerbit sells a similar candy-coated chocolate wrapped almond that has a really thin CandyShell and the almonds are delicious! By all sorts of beautiful containers to put your candies in to make lovely gifts or favors!

All I can say is WHITE.That is the decor and it works. I really enjoyed the whole vibe. Very simplistic. They have a variety of different types of candies. But, if licorice is your weakness, then THIS is your place. They have a variety of different licorices. From soft and chewy to candy hard. Caramel sweet to strawberry sour. Supposedly the candy is from Sweden.A couple of, nit picky, issues. They have little spatulas to take the candies, however there is a few on one end and you keep using the same one. So, each individual container does not have it own spatula. The second issue was the lid to the container. Each row has one long lid, that you slide over. It becomes clunky and sometimes it stick.Overall the candies were great and I throughly enjoyed it.
