Helpful staff, fair prices. Id prefer to support a store like this over Ace any day. Not a place to window shop, the owner or employee present while I was shopping there wasnt pushy at all on trying to sell me anything, but didnt want me hanging around poking at stuff in the store. Completely understandable. If I were a small brick n mortar business owner I would like customers in and out. Profiling my age, appearance, clothes worn, I wouldnt want me loitering around poking at items I wont be purchasing either.Luckily I did in fact have a couple specific items on my shopping list and the same owner/employee was incredibly helpful. Answered all my questions I had, including specifics about variables in door handles and locks when it comes to brands.Very polite, and the prices here are extremely fair. No insane charge up prices you may find in other small hardware stores. Id recommend this to a friend, and I will be back again for any hardware needs in the future.

Very nice shop with a great owner and sweet dog too. This seems like a locally owned store and is a great convenient way to get little stuff while in the como area. I appreciate the owner always helping me out with recommendations. The owner is very understanding of anything and even let me test out screws in for what I was looking for prior to buying them.In terms of selection, screws, nuts, locks, door locks, keys can be made here, and paint. Just wish this place was open longer!

I love my neighborhood hardware store. The owner is very helpful and so is his dog too. Dont expect a Home Depot experience and you wont be disappointed. This is not a warehouse. Its a locally owned and managed store.

Oaks Hardware was recommended on the Nextdoor app by my neighbors for fixing a broken window pane in a storm door.I enjoyed the old school feel of the place, the work was done quickly (dropped off about 5 pm and the next day received a call that it was done about 11 am) and for a very reasonable price.The owner was kind of gruff, but so was my grandfather. Some fellas are like that. I prefer getting right to the point. I recommend checking this place out.

Great neighborhood hardware store. I’ve got an ant problem in my apartment so I come by for ant killer and pesticides frequently, prices are as good as big box stores, cheaper than Amazon, and service is better- the friendly elderly man at the counter was kind and solicitous.

I normally go out of my way to support small family hardware stores but this one is ready to go the way of the dodo. poor selection, overpriced, staff doesnt have a clue half the time. id give points for neighborhood convenience but its truly a crap shoot whether theyll have what you need

Ive been going to Oaks since I was a child with my dad. The owner Pat Clough is very helpful, knowledgable, and friendly.This is a long time family business with a great product offering, downtown, close to dinky town. Great for quick trips or do it yourself home projects, aprartment, or dorms.Very reputable business in the community.
