Really appreciate this place especially John. I came to them for a second opinion after the dealership quoted me a repair price that was very expensive. After inspection, John and the team found it to be a small part that they were able to fix for a fraction of the price. They were very honest, straightforward, friendly, and professional. Thanks again!

My BMW E39 M5 developed a leak, a vibration, and the car didn’t seem like the power was there in the upper rpms. The vibration was so bad over 60 mph, it wasn’t fun to drive anymore. I went through control arm replacements, a hub/bearing, a set of wheels, lots of wheel balances, and a new set of tires to address the vibration before moving here from San Francisco. Maybe it was the steering linkage? Parts bought. I didn’t have time to replace the parts here and it’s just too hot for me to DIY.The M5 is mostly a garage queen so I wasn’t in a rush to fix anything but the leak was getting bad. Finally looked under the car with the undercover off and found the leak(s) were coming from the power steering hoses. I cut the ends of the hoses that had hardened, reinstalled them, and there was still a leak coming from somewhere. It was time for a refresh and a professional to help me.I’m so glad I found Chris and John at Total German Motorworks. John checked the car thoroughly and I mean thoroughly. They treated the car like it was their own. John found my steering linkage to be ok but I asked them to replace the linkage anyways since I already bought the parts. He also looked into the suspension, hub/bearing, driveshaft, and everything was tight. The vibration was not coming from anything there.Even though I had replaced the wheels and tires, he suspected the tires had a flat spot (I thought so, too) which they took a video showing the tire wobbling. The wheels was looked into by a sublet wheel specialist where the rims were found to be ok, tires were remounted, and wheels rebalanced. The vibration is about 90% gone now. The other 10% is from the tires not being totally round. It does get better when the tires are warmed up and the flat spot rounds out.During test drives, Chris did confirm the power was odd and they found the car had a small misfire from the old coil packs and one of the MAFs was dying but not throwing a code yet. They bought parts for me and also allowed me to get other parts on my own. That was appreciated! After all was said and done, leak is gone, the vibration is minimal, and the car PULLS.Oh what fun!Thank you Chris and John. You are my go to shop for the M5 since moving here from the Bay Area. Highly recommended!

I had a drive belt replaced last week and they put it on backwards. There are only two ways to put it on. It then broke and almost damaged my engine, crept to the Mercedes dealership and had to pay for a new one and installation. Yesterday would only(after pressure) refund the cost of the belt and should have paid the extra cost to get it put on correctly. It could have cost a lot of damage.

I drove 4 hours to Mesa to get my car serviced, I called 1st, and I was happy to be assisted by Mike the owner, my VW needed a repair and Mike was able to get the job done in half a day I was able to get my car the following morning. Its so convenient theyre open on Saturdays. Mike was considerate of my situation. I have never had great service from anywhere before. I also saved alot on my repair, I will definitely be getting my car serviced at this location always.

Inherited a 1979 450 SL that had not been driven in a couple years and barely started. I live in CO and needed the car road worthy quickly. Ryan worked some magic and got me in quickly. The car needed a fair amount of work to say the least and it was impressive how fast they did everything from engine to brakes to transmission. The shop stuck to the estimate and fixed a couple things they found getting into it as agreed to do. I drove the car 900 miles through the mountains and it ran like a champ. Not a fancy shop, but who cares when the service is excellent. Hope I can find a shop as good here in CO! Thank you gentleman.

Wow! What a great experience from start to finish. When I arrived it was really busy but Ryan took the time to run a diagnostic for an engine light prompt. I didnt have an appointment and he still made time for me, I did not expect that. I was trying to get the feel of the place and then make an appointment but he floored me with his excellent customer service. I made an appointment for my Audi A4 to have them look at one of my fuel injectors. He found another bad fuel injector and other issues I was not aware of. After all was said and done Ryan gave me a fair and honest price. When first searching for an Audi mechanic I found Total German Motorworks and read the reviews. This is why I chose this place and will continue to come back while telling others of a great job they did THANK YOU GUYS AT TOTAL GERMAN WORKS!!!

I was hesitant about seeing a mechanic concerning my 1997 Eurovan but Chris was AMAZING!! Not only did he and his team solve the problem but he showed me what to do in case I had problems again .... and then he wiped everything down to clean it and took attention to details. Very impressed and I highly recommend Chris and the staff at Total German Motor Werks!

Brought in my A6 because the check engine light came on. When I picked up the car my airbag light was on, they claimed it was on when I got there. But I had the airbags replaced 6 months ago due to a recall. The check engine light came back on the next day with the same issue. Im just going to audi dealer in Chandler. Everyone in the shop seem nice and know what they are doing, they even told me to bring it back in. I also never got a receipt for the work done. They had a printer failure and were supposed to email me a detailed receipt and I got nothing.

My new 1975 VW Bug was running rough and couldnt pass emissions, and we wanted to get a professional assessment of the bugs condition for any problems of which we werent aware. Ryan was extremely helpful and professional in helping identify and correct the emissions issue and giving it a tune up, and provided a free evaluation of the engine. The service was completed quickly, its running great, and we werent pressured or directed to make unnecessary or expensive repairs. We will defintely be returning as we continue to work on building up the bug.
