Master workmanship, period. I asked him to install LR Baggs Anthem to my acoustic, and he made it perfect. Im kind of picky, but he willingly reflected my demand. If you are looking for a trustworthy luthier, he is the man. Highly recommended.Updates as of May 2018: More recently, he has worked on my guitars for neck re-set, installing slotted-head tuning machines, another pickup installation, and a number of set-ups. I wanted to spend a couple of days with the guitars he worked on before reviewing and I just can’t say enough. Ryan is a great luthier. He reset the neck and the action on the nut and saddle of my new Taylor 12 string. It plays amazing. I was impressed that he works on all types of stringed instruments and builds custom guitars/basses. He is very knowledgeable and goes the extra mile to make your instrument as good as possible. I highly recommend him and will be bringing more guitars and basses for him to service.

I have played music for about 50 years now, on and off. Never had a pro setup done to any of my guitars.I played them as is. They were not bad but never properly setup.Two electric, one acoustic. Had a bad experience locally and decided to look out of town. After setting up and minor work on them I couldn’t be happier. Great experience, easy to deal with and very competent.Came across on older violin that needed quite a bit of work. I had a1970s continental drifter 12 string basically unpayable. Had a yoke. Bridge you could not keep in tune and the action was so high it was nearly impossible to pla . The intonation was nearly a full 1/2 step off too. Ryan looked at it and saw the bracing inside was very sturdy and sound. He came up with a very creative solution to make this guitar play great and sound fantastic. He replaced the yoke with a bridge and pin bridge and saddle. The intonation is perfect now and plays like a dream. The sound is unreal. Ill be taking my other guitars to him to set up as well.

Went in there with my uncle on Feb. 1st to get some work done on a project bass. Even though we arrived pretty much unannounced, Mr. Scott was nice enough to do some work on the neck that we couldnt have done ourselves and he didnt even charge us. Was only in there less than an hour but Mr. Scott was very helpful and friendly and did some great work.

Set up my Gibson SG Robot and identified and corrected a problem with the Tronical auto tune system. This changed the personality of this guitar and made a good playing guitar a great playing guitar. Great service and fair market prices. Thanks Ryan.

My name is Patrick, and Ryan did an awesome job setting up my gibson j-15! my guitar sounded good before i took it to him but the action was a little high and intonation needed to be set. When i went to pick the guitar up and played it i could transition up and down the fretboard like butter and guitar sounds amazing! The neck relief is perfect! and some people dont realize what a good setup can do! even if you think your guitar sounds and plays great take it to ryan and get a high quality professional setup done and you will be amazed on what a difference it will make in the sound and playability!!!

Ryan Scott is a true craftsman. He took care of my vintage alvarez yari. When I first dropped the guitar off Ryan took his time measuring, feeling, and studying my guitar. He explained all that could be improved in great detail, and took time to make me comfortable with the work. Overall Ryan is an extremely knowledgeable and friendly guy.Bottom line, if you want the best for your guitar you need to go see Mr. Scott.

I’ve used Ryan Scott on every one of my 10 guitars for the past 10+ years. There’s never been one occasion when the guitar did not come back perfect. He is one of those master craftsman who will work tirelessly in order to make it right. I’ve probably sent 30 or 40 people to them over the last 10 years and everyone raves about his work. He’s also Taylor-certified for warranty repairs, having trained there as well. And he knows bass guitars as much as anyone, having literally built many custom basses from scratch. He takes jobs that have seemed impossible for other guitar shops and literally accomplished the impossible. If you need an acoustic or electric set up, new pickups installed, a neck reset, frets replaced, cracks repaired, build a new custom guitar ... doesn’t matter. If it can be done, Scott GW can do it, and the prices are more than reasonable. This is your one place to go to. He’s the only guy I call. Can’t say enough good things about SGW.
