During a road trip, was trying to find a cute coffee shop for needed caffination. Guest House did not disappoint! Ordered the harvest latte that was delicious, and a unique flavor combo for me. All of the baked goods looked so tempting. Atmosphere was adorable and staff was very friendly. Would recommend the stop!

I have been here several times and each experience is a little different. As a professional currently working in Lincoln and living at the Hampton Inn, I tend to prefer the quiet times! If you need quiet to concentrate, this is not always the best atmosphere. The clientele is mostly college students. Some days they are working quietly. Other days they are very chatty.The coffee is always fresh:) Baristas are kind and non-pretentious. Plenty of seating and abundance of outlets for your devices (awesome!). Free WiFi with the password displayed at the register. Free refills on coffee in mugs! One thing to note is this really is only coffee and pastries. There are no salads, sandwiches, bagels, etc.

A client said this was a place I need to visit when in Lincoln. So I listened and so glad I did. Staff was friendly and inviting. I enjoyed the house made pumpkin spiced latte and it was delicious. Saw the cinnamon rolls on display and, sorry mom, this was one of the best cinnamon rolls I’ve had. Overall had a very good experience here and will be back (looking at you dessert case 😳)

Plenty of seating. Great, mellow atmosphere for WFH. Fun staff.⚠️Controversial statement warning: their warmed mini cinnamon rolls are better than Cinnabon minis. I say that because the roll was thicker and had less of a crisp outside after heated. Try it. Worst thatll happen is you have a good cinnamon roll. 🤷🏼‍♀️

Nice staff. Coffee was good. I enjoyed the indoor/outdoor seating. I had an orange scone. It had a lovely, firm texture instead of being a brick of a sweet treat, as so often is the case here in the US.

If you want to shop local and support a small business to fulfill your coffee needs, Guest House is your place. The atmosphere is very unique, cozy, and inviting and the staff are friendly. More importantly though, their products are top notch; from the coffee, to the baked goods, to the beans (carefully selected from ethical sources and roasted fresh, in-house) that you can buy and take home and/or have shipped to you for a high quality cup of coffee at home. Highly recommend Guest House. You wont be disappointed.

Amazing drinks! I always get an iced mocha latte with almond milk and it always comes out perfectly. I hang out with my friends and take my kids there a lot. its peaceful usually. I like to sit and write there. I have a lot of memories in that place just from this past few months!

This shop is a lovely little gem! Stopped in on a Tuesday morning while passing through town and am thoroughly impressed. Quality of coffee & selections, ambiance, service, etc. — everything is top notch. If I’m ever in Lincoln, IL, again, I’ll be sure to get another Bees Knees latte.

I am going to have to agree with all of the positive reviews and comments. When you approach the building what draws you in are the white columns and beautiful architecture. Once you walk inside the smell of coffee draws you in and causes you to probably purchase more than you really are hungry for. Either way its still good food and a beautiful atmosphere to sit, study, conduct some business or just chat and enjoy some time with friends.

I ordered a cake from guest house coffee and pastries, and what I got was an amazing cake that was absolutely delicious and amazing looking,I highly recommend them for all your pastries needs.

I am OBSESSED with this place. The Guesthouse is the most welcoming place in Lincoln. Ethan is amazing, and all of the staff are so sweet and friendly. The coffee is always delicious, and I appreciate that I am allowed to study here all afternoon. During the cram weeks of college, I would spend everyday here for at least 4 hours and it was always the cozy and relaxing.

This is the most terrible coffee I have ever tasted, who dont put Cream in their Cold Coffee. It tasted worse after they tried to doctor it up....wont be getting coffee from here again...Dunkin im sorry I stepped out on you. So much for national coffee day.

This place is wonderful! The staff is friendly, the coffee is great, and very reasonably priced considering the quality of coffee that they put out daily. Freshest coffee in Logan County (Im particularly fond of the cold brews)Not to mention the baked goods. The cupcakes, cinnamon rolls, and anything else they put out is high caliber stuff. We are absolutely blessed to have a coffee shop of this echelon in town!

The latte was lukewarm at best. The pumpkin crumb muffin was dry as well as the vanilla cupcake. The pecan cinnamon roll was good. The service was mediocre. The staff there was not at all friendly nor welcoming. We decided to get our order to go instead of sitting down. The atmosphere seemed nice except for the staff. Would have liked to have sat there and really taken in the ambience.

What a gem. Amazing roaster with great whole beans, a delicious and wide selection of drinks in house, and a great space to talk, relax, and hang out with friends and family. One of my favorite stops in Lincoln, IL.I’ve tried and loved their nitro, pour over, and on my last visit got to have an amazing Pumpkin Spice Latte.

While in town last week I stopped in with my mother. Everything we had was phenomenal. I highly recommend the chocolate torte and the quiche. The gentleman who waited on us said it was his mothers recipe. It was one of the best Ive ever had. Absolutely fabulous!

Definitely worth stopping by to grab a cup of coffee and some homemade treats. Its a little bit out of the way (on the square, so passers-through town would miss it if they didnt get downtown), but worth it. Best coffee in Lincoln and friendly service. Loved that they were open Easter day so that we could grab coffee before going to family events. Cinnamon rolls are HUGE.

I was very impressed by By the Bean/ Bean Sprouts food. Everyday there is a different menu with great dishes. I got a slider flight with 3 different types of sliders. Each one was unique but amazing tasting. I will definitely be visiting more

This place is AMAZING, alright?? Honestly, the staff is so kind and amazing, the pastries are pretty good, and the coffee’s spot on. If you’re looking for a good coffee place but Starbuck’s is too expensive, they have pretty reasonable prices here!Also, there aren’t just coffee drinks. There’s some tea, which I’ve yet to try, and some frozen crème drinks (if you look at the menu pics you’ll see uwu).The only things that some may not like are that when the pastries are heated up, they don’t always heat up fully. I don’t mind it of course. And sometimes the hot drinks aren’t completely hot, more or so warm.Nonetheless, this is an amazing coffee shop with such a lovely and comforting aesthetic. It’s got a modern vintage sort of vibe to it, aha~Anyway! If you’re ever downtown in Lincoln, come here! The place is extremely welcoming and I fully recommend it. ^w^

The coffee is really good and pretty cheap for the quality. By The Bean has loads of options for everyone even those who dont like coffee. It has a almost rustic aesthetic and is a lovely place to go to meet up with friends or even just relax.

Ive only been in there once with a friend (Im 13), but every Friday my sister goes in and buys me a drink and brings it to me. Honestly, its MUCH better than Starbucks. The employees were great.

I come here to study and Ethan is hilarious. The only problem is sometimes people are too loud. In the second room their are games; they are great when hanging with friends. If you live in lincoln or come to lincoln you should definitely come here.

This is a nice little coffee shop with an extremely knowledgeable staff. Although I have a look that would be easily considered anti-hipster, the staff happily explained their coffee tastings with the exuberance of a sommelier. I will go back without reservation.
