Ive been in the scale model building and collecting hobby for over 40 years, and this Turkey Creek location is hands down the best HobbyTown out there.In an age where brick and mortar hobby shops are quickly becoming a fading memory, it is nice to find one as well stocked and comprehensive as this one is. The staff are always attentive and friendly to boot.

My first time ever here and I had so much fun being my inner kid. I totally recommend going to this happy fun house!

I love this place. It doesnt matter how old you are; if you like trains, models, or simply toys in general, youre going to enjoy HobbyTown. We dont have a nice little hobby store like this where Im from, so I enjoy paying it a visit whenever Im in Knoxville.

I come here often. They are almost always busy, usually seemingly busier than what the size of staff should be able to handle. However I have NEVER gotten anything less than courteous, professional service and they always take care of their customers in a friendly and timely manner.I came in close to closing time for some adapters for my battery, Ryan stayed late and made them up for me even after I offered to come back the next day. Great people, great service, and will always recommend. Thank you to everyone at hobby town.**update**Once again a great purchase and service experience! Scott in the RC department got my drift car running and driving better than ever before! 11/10 service and workmanship. Can’t recommend highly enough!

Great Place to buy RC and other fun toys. The staff is very friendly and willing to help. Especially Chris! When buying an RC car for my nephew, his expertise was very comforting and when I had to bring it in for repair, he knew exactly what was needed and even fixed the issue. Great customer service!

Good selection of model kits of all kinds. Far more to choose from than other hobby stores. More inventory / variety than listed on their website. Store prices can be higher than their website, but they’ll match the price. Low stock of RC plane parts.

Me n my buddy come down here at least once a week for rc car parts, usually have everything we need but w covid some items are on back order, not their fault. Very helpful staff, we enjoy talking shop w them! Thanks again hobby town !

One of the few Hobby Town locations that offers it all. I really appreciate that they carry die-cast vehicles and model railroad items amongst their many products.

Usually they have to have a train guy to work on their model trains but a guy I forgot his name fixed my train and now it works perfectly

I have never been inside a HobbyTown before! This store has everything from your average craft store to some serious minitures equipment and train sets! My favorite thing is their schleich collection! They have 3 different stands just for schleich! Worth a visit anyday!

The owner Gary is a super nice guy and very knowledgeable of his products. His staff is just as knowledgeable as he is and are great to help you find what you need. If your into modeling, RC or a Railroad buff. This is the place to go for all your needs. Ive had Gary custom order model kits and accessories for me all the time. Great place to shop.

I BOUGHT A DUET RTF for 65$ and I flew it one time and I did a soft landing on the ground and the tail broke in half and the elavator on the tail had broke also I’m genuinely disappointed with my purchase here at hobby town. It is styrofoam so I figured a $65 airplane would eventually break but didn’t think it would break from a soft landing withing 12 hours of having this plane.

Went here because I’m a beginner of rc cars. Every rc car they had were very expensive being new to a hobby not trying to drop $200 on one

Trains, rc drones, models, toddler toys, minis and even rockets. They have amazing well versed staff and an area to paint or build or play. Tons of options and even electronics for configuring and repairing remotes. Board games in here as well! Great place to come find your next hobby or rekindle an old model train.

I go often for nitro rc parts, employees are very polite & offer excellent customer service. Last visit they were able to save me over $100 on a new replacement engine (retail cost of new engine was $220) my bill with new engine & upgrade Parts was $156. Highly recommend, only complaint is parking area is small.

I left town for the weekend and forgot my charger for my crawler 🤷‍♂️🤦‍♂️🙄!!! I spoke with Jason about it and he agreed to charge my batteries for me at no charge!! I went back to pick them up, & spoke with Roger, who was super nice and helpful!! I then went ahead and bought a single charger so I could use it to put my batteries back in storage mode at the end of the weekend. I was very pleased with those guys because I work for Moonville RC & Hobby Center in Piedmont, SC. And we would have given the same service!! Excellent you guys!!!

I love the store but they close at 6pm bye the time you get off work if west Knoxville traffic is bad you wont make it so wish there was another place local to by from or if they would stay open later they have everones business being there the only rc store in Knoxville but over all good place to order your parts

Horrible customer service. I bought my husband a $500 (Hoss) truck. Literally we have had the truck for 4 days I have had to drive all the way from Morristown to West Knoxville 4 times this week due to the trucks wheels coming off, breaking or the truck not wanting to go. So I politely called the store after getting home from them so called fixing it (for the 4th time in 4 days) ONCE AGAIN the tire fell completely off the truck. The lady that answered said there was nothing she could do about it and hung up on my husband, I called back talked to the person who so called fixed the truck named Jason and he says he will ask the GM which is Ryan if he can return it, horrible customer service from the lady, not to mention I am out $500 & $80 in gas from driving 55 miles to service it. This is the most unprofessional place I’ve ever been into!

They the ones that messed up not me.Owner manager will argue with you. You get better customer service at Amazon, just sayin!!

I already hate coming to this store because of one of the guys who works there is rude every time. Unfortunately its the only one around. So today I checked online to see their hours (covid) and made the 1hr 20min drive from maynardville only to find out they are CLOSED 3hr waste of my time. There were 2 other people in the lot trying to shop there as well. A simple update online to show the store has been closed would have been nice Thanks alot.

The amount of people that dont wear mask in their building make it impossible for me to shop there. When the pandemic ends I can hopefully shop there again.

First off I’d like to say these guys are awesome. While up in Tennessee on vacation for the week I decided to buy my first RC car and went to check out the Xmaxx. Jason was awesome and got me set up with the machine, battery’s and charger, as well as some upgraded tires.However, when I got back to our rental house and fired it up the ESC caught fire after about 10 feet. It ruined the esc, battery’s, motor wiring and body.I drove back up first thing this morning with no idea of which route this was going to go and I must say their customer service is awesome. Ryan immediately started repairing the car with all new parts and even a new body. Within 45 minutes we were up and running.Thanks you guys for getting me started on the right foot for the new hobby!

I tried to purchase Lionel boxcars for my brothers Christmas present. When we went to the store I asked for help and was just directed to the Lionel section. I thought I found boxcars on sale but they happened to be tractor trailers that go on flatbed cars. I asked about returns and was told they could be returned until the end of January. I went to return them so I could let my brother get exactly what he wanted and they would only give a store credit not cash. I was told that it states on the receipt the terms. I told the clerk that I would not have known that until I made the purchase and it would have been to late at that time according to the policy. This is a bad policy for clients and should be stated before making the purchase.

I come from Texas to Knoxville about 3 times a year to visit my grandson. I always make it a point to get to Hobby Town each time I do. Manage to see something I just had to have and wind up leaving with a new car, truck, boat, quad or airplane (this trip). Came in, talked to Scott a bit and then found a 1.5m powered glider that I wanted to take back home. Scott discussed all the features and made the sale. Each time I shop here I find the store to be clean, well stocked, neatly displayed and most important to me everything is marked with a price. Never have been disappointed by dropping in. Good people to do business with.

I am from Tennessee but my Aunt came up from Florida and she suggested we go to Hobby Town since last time she had came, she had visited Hobby Town. We went inside and as soon as I walked in I loved it. Nice display and not pricy. Loved it, might be coming back every time I visit Turkey Creek.

This is a great store for the imagination to run wild in both children and adults. Brings back some nostalgic feel because they carry items you cant get in other places. Quality items that can involve time assembling and playing with the items along with your kids or friends to truly make an enjoyable experience.

Not bad, some of the employees use foul language and not a fan of that.

Great place to shop for almost any hobby you could imagine. One of mine happens to be metal detecting they were so helpful with me and werent pushy just gave me facts. The staff was very friendly they got me in and out in no time and Im very satisfied with my purchase.

Pretty cool store. Now mind you, I only go in here with my husband. He really likes this store. I just look around while he shops. Some things can be a bit pricey to me, but Im not into all that stuff. So for someone who is, the price point may be comparable to other like stores. But, Hobby Town does have a nice selection. Even I enjoy looking at the hobby grade RC stuff!
