The lady at the front counter was a delight. My creamed Italian soda with pomegranate was fabulous and refreshing on a hot day. The bakery item I had was gooey and delicious with fresh fruit that hit the spot. The dining room was clean. Tere was plenty of room, it was a little bit quiet and I felt odd talking cuz nobody else was.

I’m newly dairy & gluten free. So glad to have this place in my area 💕

Always a pleasure. The Dirty South, an homage to New Orleans, bursts with Chicory, cream, and the fruity audacity of rich coffee. A marriage of the best coffee (my favorite, at least). I don’t know if I’ll ever go back to drinking coffee without chicory. NOLA for life!Be sure and try the Dirty South with cashew milk. And indulge in one of their whoopie pies. If unavailable order a pop tart 🙌🏻 or anything they do with pumpkin. Or anything they bake ever 🤤 The bakery is equally delightful.

A very welcoming and unique vegan bakery and coffee house in Kansas City, MO. The pastries were packed with flavor. I watched as a baker rolled out dough for a donut while waiting for one of the best scones Ive ever had get heated up (Ive eaten a lot of scones!).The building is a two-bedroom house painted bright yellow, sitting next to Exile Tattoo. You dont have to be vegan to enjoy this family run bakery.

I wish they had my favorite muffins all the time, however, everything is great.

This vegan bakery needs to come to Tulsa, OK asap. I’m lactose intolerant so looking through all the amazing pastries and muffins they have to pick from was heaven. Even if you aren’t vegan this bakery has some of the most tasty treats I’ve ever had. My wife got a blueberry/lemon muffin and I got a chocolate chip espresso muffin and they were both delightful.

Yum! I’m not into coffee so I usually stop for the baked goods. Though I’d like to try their tea drinks. But their baked goods, both savory and sweet..are always delicious! I especially like their breakfast biscuit, jalapeño scone, and their doughnuts. Their selection is different every day and they sell out of a lot. Once you just accept that you can’t get whatever you want at any time you want (haha) you can appreciate the fun of trying new things and get excited once your favorite just so happens to be on the menu.Only suggestion - maybe you could carry paper straws for your frozen drink? Its hard to drink without a straw.

Mud Pie had such a sweet, quiet atmosphere. We loved the decor and variety of seating, and the vibe made us want to stay there all day. The staff were very patient and friendly. The food was obviously delicious. There was a small but varied selection of donuts, cakes, bars, and pastries. My partner loved the strawberry cream crumb cake, which was dense and moist, very rich, and reminiscent of cheesecake. The apple crumb cake was good, with apples and cinnamon in a light and crumbly slice. I loved the Coconutz! which was a dense, chilled bar with toasted nuts, a sprinkle of chocolate chips, and a slather of shredded coconut. We ate there for a mid-morning brunch, but items were also available to-go (and we wouldve needed it if we had ordered any more of these filling treats).

I love the funky vibe and friendly staff - I went for the cheddar sausage vegan scone toasted - fantastic pick - this place should be a MUST stop going into work for baked goods AND coffee. If you want something sweet go for the orange scone or muffin.

The food is amazing and its all vegan! However, the parking lot is an absolute nightmare. Also, it can get very crowded, as its a quite small place.

It is fully plant-based, what more to say? What more to desire? They are doing it! They are doing their best! I am not sure how much palm oil they are using and I am not sure how organic it is... and I dont care!I just know that they will quickly evolve and change suit to become more and more ethical, and create more and more profit so that this kind of beautiful labor of love can expand further. Throw your money here!! It is a good idea! It is far better than supporting a restaurant that is too afraid to go all the way!

First and second visits in same day. A lovely atmosphere, cute and friendly staff. Tasty coffee and delicious pastries. So far Ive eaten a cheddar bagel with green onion cream cheese, drank a small black coffee, and noshed on a chocolate chip cookie. Book shelf is sparse, but there are bits from Brian Jacques Redwall series, which warmed my heart. Lots of places to sit and outlets to plug into. My new spot in Midtown KC.

YUM!!! My colleague and I stopped in and got a whole box of goodies for a meeting. They were a huge hit! All their treats were super moist and tasty, and the cheddar sausage scone was such a great savory option! Must try!

Im a nomad and part of the Vanlife community, living on the road full time in my SUV-RV vehicle conversion. Been in California now full time for 3 years AND coming from LA (which is the Mecca of vegan btw) to Kansas was interesting to say the least as theres not much vegan anything in Kansas! Where as in LA you have vegan festivals every week, in every city, with every type of vegan food you can think of! Its paradise! That being said Kanas has basically 10 vegan options and Mud Pie Vegan bakery is the only Vegan bakery in the state! Being a sugar addict it was top on my list! As soon as I stepped into the place I was excited! The facility is deceiving size wise however, as its so much bigger on the inside than outside! It was quaint with a unique atmosphere, multiple places to sit, with upstairs and downstairs seating, customer service was on point, and it had a clean facility with decent prices! (I ordered 2 pastries for $9.) Although the selection of baked goods wasnt huge you still had a fair amount to choose from so no complaining. The lemon Bundt cake was a bit crumbly and not as moist as I would prefer, however had great flavor. The pop tart is where things escalated! I got the cinnamon pop tart and it was absolutely PHENOMENAL! It was crispy like the Kelloggs brand BUT BETTER and not to sticky for the filling! It was a little bit thicker than the store bought ones but that made it even better! And to my surprise the texture was identical to the Kelloggs brand but I never experienced that before! Reminded me of when I was kid back in the 80s! Other vegan pop tarts from past were just jazzed up square-shaped pieces of pie.MUD PIE BAKERY POP TARTS aint playin! They are the REAL DEAL and my new found favorite. So grateful for this Kanas treasure! Thank you for making my pop tart dreams come true!

I had a chai tea latte and a kolache, and both were very tasty! Order/pickup at the window.I always wish my chai were spicier, but this one wasnt overly saccharine, and thats the most I can hope for in the US.

My partner and I really enjoyed our visit to this super quaint, niche cafe. The vibe feels like more like chill, hanging out at a friends house more than a business which we loved! Theres various pieces of art hanging up and numerous rooms converted into seating areas w/ huge windows to look out of and ponder existential dilemmas while the smooth jazzy sounds provide the ambience. Theres even a kid friendly room for the lil humans.We both ordered the chickpea tuna sammies which were delicious a filling. I ordered a hot chocolate and Veladya ordered a latte, both were amazing with that homemade nut milk!All in all I rate MPVB&CH 4/5 bc everyone should definitely check it out, theres something extremely unique happening here and we loved it. The only reason we didnt give the full 5🌟 is the prices are a tad bit much. We spendt $35 for 2 cold prepared sammies, small drinks and 2 pastries.

I have been a few times and always love it. This time we got the pear ginger muffin, a dirty chai, a hot cocoa (complete with latte art!), and pumpkin donut; all awesome. I really like the games and seating available as well.

They have such great vegan baked goods that rotate through - both savory and sweet options! Great coffee too. Love this place! Go early if you want the biggest selection of pastries, they often sell out of the good stuff early, especially on weekend mornings.

I was walking by and decided to pop in and give this place a try. They had some incredible looking options on display, from muffins, to cakes, brownies, and bars. I had a bundt cake that was incredibly rich and decadent for something that doesnt contain milk or butter. The flavor was spot on. I dont know how they do it, but this place is awesome!

My daughter has to be dairy free and it is so nice to have a bakery that she can enjoy along with the whole family.

My favorite place to get coffee on 39th. Best Mexican Hot Cocoa Ive had anywhere. Staff is friendly, the vibe is quiet, they have a great porch, and the baked goods melt in your mouth.

Love that this place is entirely vegan!!! We tried the salted caramel bar and German chocolate cupcake. They were good, but nothing spectacular or special. The staff was super nice and attentive. Cute aesthetic.

First time coming in because of a deal on Groupon, The Staff was extremely friendly and didnt make me look like a dummy for not knowing what to order. The staff helped me choose a drink and now I cant stop going back for the Mocha latte with soy milk... and Im not even vegetarian. Mud Pie is a little far away from home, but is worth the drive.

You could definitely hide the fact that it was a vegan bakery from an omnivore and they would not be able to tell from the food whatsoever. Huge fan! The space is also just super cute and cozy. This is a great vegan bakery, with awesome coffee and a good GF variety. The customer service is also very recommended, and they are helpful and answer questions easily. I highly recommend Mudpie and try to be a frequent customer!

Everyone that loves sweet wholesome treats ,coffee treats and great calming energy need to visit.Although I can never get there in time to get the daily specials I am never disappointed in the menu, great and amazing staff and the company of the other company. I really love this place! Ive not had anything I didnt enjoy. The prices for what you got (portion and quality) are fantastic. Ive been to both locations (this one and the OP one), and both had the same amazing quality at each.I do prefer the easiness of getting in and out of the OP location, but the inconvenience of finding a place to park is worth coming here!Even if youre not vegan, youd enjoy this place! The food is so delectable that you cant tell its vegan. Will definitely keep this place as a staple choice in KC.

Our go-to vegan eatery. Especially for breakfast. My wife and I have been regular customers for about a year now. Our son loves it as well and has enjoyed multiple kinds of vegan dishes.They have good lunch and desert options as well. I usually get a breakfast scone (amazing cheddar sausage) or muffin with a coffee.Ive never had complaints about the staff or environment. Everything is very reasonably priced but you can easily spend quite a bit because its hard to pick just one thing.

Baked goods are SO good! You wouldnt even know they were vegan :)

This is my favorite coffee shop in the metro. Its quirky and Ive never met a staff member there that wasnt a beacon of joy and peace. The baked goods are the icing on an already delicious cake; and I can feel the love in every bite. Try the salted caramel bar!!

Just because it’s vegan do not pass up this little place. I’m not vegan but my young adult children took me there for coffee and muffins. The Blueberry Lemon muffins are absolutely delicious! I wasn’t sure what coffee to get but the staff was incredibly helpful and extremely friendly, inviting us to hang out with them while we enjoyed our breakfast. I enjoyed watching the barista work his magic for other customers as I sat in a comfy, cozy seat eating my muffin. This little place is a true gem that shouldn’t be passed up.

A true pride and joy of Kansas City, this locally owned coffeeshop is one of my favorite places. You really cant miss with any of their baked goods, though the savory breakfast sandwiches and kolaches are my personal favorite. Even my omnivore partner agrees, their vegan sausage is amazing. Relax upstairs or out on the large patio if the weather is nice. Or if youre on the go, theyll gladly package something up, or put it in your own container. Well worth a visit!

I split 3 items with my mom and got a smoothie. They were all delicious! Great selection, including a few savory items. They have a good coffee menu too. A cute little place with a friendly, laid back atmosphere. Totally recommend!

The Yellow House. The donuts, buntcakes and smoothie, that I purchased, were so very good.. Delicious! You wouldnt believe that its all vegan. However its a very tiny space - cozy place with a couch section and other areas with tables, chairs and stools. You could vibe out, chill, relax with friends, read a book. Very good service! I heard they make Birthday cakes... I will return back here for sure to try coffee and other vegan deserts they have!

Without question the greatest bakery items Ive ever had. If I lived in Kansas City Id become a very fat individual very quickly, thankfully I dont. I honestly could spend hours heaping praise on this place it was that good. Stuff like this makes life worth living.

My husband and I were visiting from out of town and wanted a vegan dessert. Mud Pie did not disappoint! We split the Apple Crumb Cake and the Cherry/Orange Muffin - so delicious! Its wonderful to have a vegan bakery in Kansas City.

There are few places in the world that you know the staff truly loves being there and serving people. Mud pie is one of them. The food is pure well crafted and delicious every time. Some people think vegan means bland terrible food. Well not here at Mudpie. All of the food is fresh magical and delicious they make many of their milk choices in house and they server great coffee and great tea. The building is an old house and has Bunches of charm and character you can meet friends for coffee or sneak away to an upstairs room and work on that paper work in peace as the world zooms by on 39th street. The neighborhood is charming and many lunch options veggie and vegan alike the staff is so great fun vibrant and happy. Truly a special place in a special neighborhood .

This is the best place. I can get my sweet tooth on and eat gluten free at the same time if I want. Its a cute little place to come and just have a treat and read a book or catch up on some homework. My kids have taken a liken to this place also. Its a keeper for us☺

Staff was very friendly and helpful in suggesting alternative milks. The pumpkin donut and vanilla cupcake were delicious! The interior was really cute. They had indoor and outdoors eating and some cute shirts for sale. Wish they had oat milk - only miss for me.

Amazing! The staff was super nice, and very friendly... And I thought the desserts were really good! I got the sea salt caramel bars and the mocha chocolate Bundt cake and they were both great but I liked the sea salt caramel bars more. Id definitely enjoy both again... Loved them very much!

I LOVE this place. When I lived in Hyde park I went here often. I’m not vegan and still love this place. There baked goods taste better than any non vegan baked good that I have had. If you haven’t gone you should go. I can’t recall all that I have tried because I’ve been quite a few times. There is a new location closer to me now in OP and I bet they are just as good.

Excellent coffee, great deserts, and a good atmosphere. I hadnt been here in 12 years when my husband and I couldnt find a single coffee house that wasnt bombarded with people and which had parking. Mud Pie has a tiny parking lot and then on - street parking but we found a spot. The wait wasnt too long and the staff were friendly. We took ours to go and enjoyed the vegan cookie, which was delicious and had a perfect consistency.

I have been visiting mud pie since about 2015 they have always been very nice and the owner has always been a cool guy! There not so mini doughnuts are a hit and I would always get the hemp milk mocha! There tea selection is amazing and the atmosphere is perfect! Good place to hang out and kill some time.

I love this place. Can be pricey but its worth it. Every thing I have tried is delicious! They have the best Chia Latte. Food is consistently yummy at both locations. If they opened a location closer to me I would be in trouble!!

My son has a dairy allergy and I am also dairy free so I am always looking for a good place to get safe treats for him and I. Mudpie did my sons birthday cakes for his first birthday party and both cakes were delicious and next level. We got strawberries and cream as well as German chocolate. Both were sooo good. They put the messages we requested on the cakes and they looked well decorated and appealing to the eye. I will definitely be a customer of mud pie again.

More approachable and casual than some other places. The rehabbed house layout adds some charm, plus it makes it more likely youll find people (really) studying, or hanging out for a chat on the patio with strangers. The vegan goods stand on their own as delicious, not as an ethical compromise. There are several non-dairy creamers that are made in-house. Parking can be tricky, but its a neighborhood for walking.

Everything is great here!! I had a blueberry crumble the other day that was out of this world. When my husband and I got married, we had a traditional cake but decided to get several dozen cupcakes here to accommodate our vegan friends. They tasted great and the people at Mud Pie were really easy to work with for our wedding.

Oh my goodness! I got an almond milk latte and it was THE BEST latte I have EVER had! SERIOUSLY. It wasnt sickeningly sweet like most lattes with syrup in it (which I got one of their holiday syrups) but it was JUST right! 10/10 would recommend and will be returning!

They have lots of gluten free choices. The strawberry and lemon cupcakes are awesome and mouth-watering. The rocky road brownie was fabulous! Everything is good every time we go there. Loved it.

Awesome people and the food was very tasty. Had a raspberry crumble, lemon bar and cheddar sausage (all vegan) scone and they were all excellent. Warm atmosphere, quiet enough for study or reading but lively enough to be entertaining just people watching. Comfortable and reasonably priced! A+

What a great coffee house! Really cool place in an old house. Everything there is delicious.You may have trouble finding seating as Mud Pie can get pretty crowded at peak times. Dont be afraid to venture upstairs to find a spot if the first floor is filled up.
