He took the time to provide me with a complete estimate of the parts and labor operations needed to complete the install and answered all my questions. Ive been coming in here once a month for the last 4 years for ignition interlock device maintenance. Chuck, the owner, is good people and he is usually the one behind the counter (which I appreciate). Ive noticed Chuck always takes his time with each customer and runs an honest business.

This place is amazing, I brought my car in that had a system installed by someone that wasnt a professional and they told me exactly what my problem was with my system free of charge. I asked them to just wire it up correctly which TJ gave me a huge discount on because it all had to be ripped out and new wiring installed. While I was waiting for my car there was a couple teenage kids that came in needing a new inline fuse and TJ not only gave it to them free of charge he showed them how to install it correctly . I was going to spend $400+ on new subs and he told me to wait and hear my system set up correctly and then decide if I want to spend the money for new subs. I dont usually write reviews but this business and its employees deserve recognition. Dont let the looks of the place fool you because the employees are hands down some of the best car audio installers in Kansas City. They also do amazing window tinting and they warranty all their work.

Ive had 7 remote starts installed by them over the past 10 years. Everytime we get a new car the first thing we do is get the remote start installed by Max Speed & Sound. They do top-notch work, honest, fair price and up front about whats needed and what it will cost. Never had a surprise or disappointment while dealing with them. They stand by their work and always help with questions come up!

Front drivers door speaker was sounding bad...thought it might be going out, so I took my car to Max Sound and Speed to have them listen to them. They diagnosed that the speaker was going bad, so I had them replace them with an upgrade. Come to find out, the problem isnt the speaker after all. I would think the installer would have confirmed the diagnosis of a bad speaker, before installing the new speakers. Now I have upgraded front speakers with the same, but richer, fuzzy sound coming from the drivers side.

Ive gone here for 2 cars window tint, 2 remote starts, and had an amp + sub installed here.Their work is top-notch, it would even make Gordon Ramsay proud, which is the top compliment I could give. Its an 05 impala and she was a bit delicate and a little brittle, but the guys called and asked what i wanted to do, and they sweet talked her into place without any problems. If I could rate 0 stars, I would. I had a terrible experience here. I had purchased a Groupon for a remote start last August. The device was terrible and would completely drain my battery dead. after the 4th time of them trying to fix it, I asked them to remove it and give me a refund. it only took them a month to get me scheduled in, so for an entire month, I did not have a working car. When I finally got to my appointment, I heard a lady say, thank you for squeezing me in today!I only received 20% of my refund. I am still having problems with the electrical system in my car and no one can figure it out. These guys not only ripped me off, but they messed up my car permanently. I am sorry I ever did business with this company.

Excellent service, excellent install, excellent people. I went in at a very busy time and they were able to answer all my questions as well as take care of many other customers. The customers need a little patience if they are busy, so dont be a little whiner if they are taking care of others. They are worth the wait. Ive been to other shops and Max Speed and Sound is the best in KC. We figured out the best I could get with my budget and set up a time to do the install. The owner is fantastic, the techs are professional and the tint guy is the best in town. They even came in on a Sunday to do my wifes remote start. Simply put, they are the best around.

I would give max speed and sound 10 stars If I could. They have been open, honest and dont try to sell you something that your not looking for. I had been to a few other car stereo locations that were trying to sell me stuff I didnt need. This place is great! Everything is reasobaly priced, and the guys there know how to install it correctly. Taken all five of my vehicles there to have various work done on them (speakers/subs, in dash CD players, remote start, and most recently ambient lighting). Its all done correctly, with a fair price, and done in a timely manner. I highly suggest them for all your aftermarket electronic needs for your vehicles.

These guys are great. I came in to have my head unit replaced and wound up getting speakers as well because the prices were so good. They beat Best Buy on every component and install price. They couldnt locate the Pioneer head unit that I had requested so they upgraded me to a Kenwood with more features that was $100 more expensive at no extra charge! The store might not be a lot to look at but they will take care of you.

Had bluetooth put in. When it went bad slightly over a year (due to heavy rain) not the product, they replaced it free of charge. Called and they said to come in immediately and it was replaced. Great service!!

I saw the reviews were awesome,I just wish my experience there was the same.I thought that the customer service and communication could have be definitely better.I got there to get my car( called me and said it was ready ) and it wasn’t even ready, waited around for A couple of hours just to find out my car would not be ready till the next day,not cool!!!:(. Went to get system installed in 2016 dodge charger had all equipment just needed wiring guy even was honest and gave us a cheaper deal on wiring since the battery was in the trunk so they wouldnt need as much wire Everyone else i called wanted around 300 or more cheapest place by half and did a fantastic job made it look very nice no wires showing. very honest trustworthy people. Im going back to get my windows tinted.

Went in to get a new stereo set up on my Honda VTX motorcycle because the speakers and deck that came with the bike were garbage. I told them what I wanted but didnt want a huge price tag. TJ worked out a quote for new head unit, speakers, and an amp, + labor and in the end it came out less than what he quoted me for. Plus he had to do a little custom work to get the speakers to fit my aftermarket fairing. Couldnt be happier with my new set up and with the guys at Max Speed and Sound!!!

Max Speed & Sound installed a touch screen stereo system in my truck, and ever since, it keeps draining the battery and dying on me. I’ve taken it back to them twice, and they have only made things worse (shorted out my backup camera, installed a harness that started burning while I was driving down the highway...). Now try to tell me something is wrong with my truck, when I never had problems with this 10-year old vehicle until they got their hands in it.Poor customer service & won’t accept responsibility for their mistakes!

Dont be fooled by appearances, these guys are legit. Had them do a window tint and a stereo install with amp and sub. They hit it out of the park. I couldnt be happier with how everything turned out. Be prepared to wait a little bit. Just know that the attention and care Chuck and the guys give to the other customers that can cause a delay will be given to you as well.

Purchased jvc head and metra dash kit for 2016 mustang gt c/s and had installed. Stereo bezel was scratched after taking it back due to intermittent loss of sound. Issue was not resolved with sound loss, head unit frame scratched up, and head unit not inserted back into dash properly (sink in too far on right side and not level). Additionally, the metra dash kit seems loose and evite unit moves when you push buttons on the touch screen.I refuse to take back up there to attempt repairs again in fear theyll screw it up more. If Id have known my experience would have been like this, would never have purchased.Main install guy is great however (dont remember his name unfortunately).

I went in to this establishment at 9am. I talked to the install manager for speakers to be put in my vehicle. The person was very courteous and helpful. He did not try to sell me the most expensive product in the store but gave me plenty of options to choose from. I look forward to them working on my vehicle.

This is the first time I have ever reviewed anyone on the internet, but I thought the positive experience I had with Max Speed & Sound should be known.I called to ask about a remote start system for my car. I received a remote start from a big box store for christmas and when I checked on installation cost, the price seemed really high given the free installation advertised. It was too late to return the gift, so I called Max Speed and Sound for help! The gentleman on the phone was very helpful in discussing the options available. Not only that, their prices including installation were significantly more reasonable than the local box store.In the future, I will be checking with this business first!

Knowledgable friendly and timely only thing I didnt like was my car smelled like smoke after I had the car stereo installed.

Dont judge this book by its cover. I was looking for a place to get a system upgrade put in my 87 Camaro that i love dearly. Its not your average rust bucket i have hard work and money tied up in it. I was very worried about the dash and parts of the car being taken apart as things get brittle over the years. I looked at the reviews here and decided to drive up and check out the store as things looked positive. My first impression walking in was not good. The place looks like its just setting up or getting ready to shut down. I walked up to the counter and was greeted by a guy named Chuck. I began to tell him my story and what i was looking for. Ill be honest i have been out of the stereo game for a long time at this point so alot of what he was telling me was over my head but he was very patient and answered all my questions. I was looking to upgrade the radio get 4 speakers a sub and amp. I told him my price range and he walked me through it. Once i made my mind up on equipment i wanted to express i was worried about the car being taken apart. He let me talk to one of his techs and he walked me through how things were going to be ran etc. Both Chuck and the tech seemed very knowledgeable I decided to go ahead and let them install it. The finished product was impressive. I couldnt even tell they were ever in the car. The install looks clean and up to date. Everything was hidden like i wanted and sounds great. I def recommend this place. Ill be taking my next vehicle up there for sure. 5 stars!
