This is like a thrift store for craft and art supplies. The only downside - you better have time to forage. There are so many awesome supply categories and you will need time to rifle in bins and boxes. I would say Im going to make this a regular stop... but I know Ill spend too much money and accrue too much stuff. This is definitely a once a month adventure type shopping experience for crafters and artists.

I love this place so much! It’s such a adventure every time I go, which is at least once a week! You’ll never know what you’ll find. I’ve been able to complete a lot of projects and not break my budget doing it. Plus, everyone that works or volunteers there is so helpful and kind.

An excellent concept for a nonprofit! They have everything from office supplies, to supplies for artists and crafters of all kinds. This includes bakers. They are constantly getting new donations in stock. The dollars raised supports efforts to assist the homeless. There is ample parking in their lot. Accessible parking, entrance. Bring in donations to support this great org!

Great prices a lot of interesting things and most of all it goes for a good cause, to help those in need. The staff which I believe is volunteer is always friendly and helpful, this place has so many positive things going for it that it is hard to list them all. Highly recommend to visit it, once you do youll be hooked

ScrapKC is great for people who want to find starter materials or basics for crafting. It is a little scarce on more advanced crafting items but thats to be expected since its a reuse store. I rated it 4 stars because some of the materials are unlabeled or bagged which makes it hard to decide if its worth the buy. Will definitely be going back.

Scraps KC works to support the unhoused community in Kansas City, and they are intentional about this mission in all they do.In case all that’s not enough to convince you to check out this creative reuse center, they even offer events for children to exercise creativity and community action.Don’t miss this eco-friendly innovation hub!!

I think I could write 4 pages on why I love Scraps KC. I was participating in a sustainability exhibit & wanted a promotional give-away. I was able to get more than 200 pens for $2.00. I bought some labels there for 50 cents, a basket to hold them, and went to work. They have so many things from markers, rubber stoppers, cardboard rolls, notebooks, fabric, carpet samples, cloth tape measures, etc. I even bought some stainless steel light parts. The staff is amazing. The work they do with the homes is inspirational! I think they would be a teachers, crafter, DIYer, recycler, office manager, etc. dream! As I type this I am thinking...when can I go back??!So, I went back and these are some of the items I purchased: pool sticks, wooden basket, sign letters, folders, tape dispenser, bent wrench, etc. LOVE THIS PLACE!

Cosplayers and crafters-- stop here first before going to JoAnn or Michaels, P L E A S E! its literally like a treasure chest of goodies and supplies for insanely low prices. they are well organized, friendly, and almost always have what Im looking for. their community initiative is phenomenal; I love everything that they stand for, and the staff is awesome-- Zach is such a sweetheart and remembered me every time I came in, even after months! Fabric is insanely cheap, and also, if you need to get rid of some of your leftover supplies or unwanted items, they will take them! (check with them first to see what they are accepting of course, with the pandemic.) I love you guys, Scraps KC-- thank you for everything!

Although they didnt have specificly what I was wanting, the gentleman helping me went way out of his way. I left the store with rolling wheels for a project my brother was working on, material for a baby blanket, highlighters for me, a couple of tennis balls for my dog, a blanket for my mom, foam cushions for another project, and ideas for some things we could use at work.
