Tommy was super helpful in my recent move to Johnson City. Answered all my questions. Always a cheerful attitude even over the phone. It was great to work with him. Storage units were easy access and lots of carts!

Ive never had a bad experience with Uhaul until I went to the one in Johnson City. The employees are extremely stuck up. The two boys that helped load my car and put the trailer on my rental were extremely rude. They did not have any manners at all. They acted mad because they had to do a little bit of work. I do not recommend this Uhaul location at all! Absolute ignorance.

I would not even give this place 1 star. The manager will not even listen or let you speak. Customer service is terrible and they never answer the phone. Upon move-in they assigned me units at the upstairs farthest back corner although the entire place is mostly empty units. I had movers on the clock and the tiny 3 passenger elevator does not even stay open to allow you to pull more than one cart inside. The elevator door forces closed even if you stand in front of it. They would not allow me to change to a larger unit because it was not what I had reserved online and I was forced to pay for another smaller unit, despite all the units around being empty. Our downstairs unit was located in the very back for which the back entrance was never unlocked or working. We moved our 3 units into 1 large unit at Storage Max and could not be more happy. A month after moving out, they just sent me a large bill with a late fee for a unit I never even had. Do not use this place! We had great experiences at every other Uhaul facility, but this is the worst business I have ever dealt with

On 7/14/20 I went there to have a new trailer brake control and a new 7 way plug put on. The manager and the younger guy that installed it. Was very rude and did not do the job right. My signals and brake lights was working I know this. As I left they wasnt so I went back and they said they wasnt working when I arrived. And they had it on video. So I left due to them arguing with me so I took it to another shop. He found my factory taillight hook up was missing U haul charged $243.43 for what they did. It cost another $121.55 to get it corrected weve had alot going since then. And with the virus to Im just not done this the other man that works there has installed alot for me. And the other manager Andy that was there was great Ive had alot of stuff installed there over many years. Very bad for U hauls business

Great place to keep your stuff. I give it 4 stars simply because Id constantly see random people who seem not have a storage unit go in the building and see what is available up for grabs. A bit worrisome that people who dont have an access card can easily go in and wander around the facility. Also another thing, they dont have enough cargo cards available. So be prepared to not see some around at times.

These people are crooked they’ll say you never returned your U-Haul when you rent one.GO SOMEWHERE ELSE DO NOT RENT FROM THIS LOCATION.

As I was paying i advised the employee that the price for the truck was alot higher than i thought as I was paying him. He then goes on to tell me I dont have to get it if I dont want it and starts to hand my money back let me throw out there this is the manager.while a employee is on the phone next to him completely agrivatted at a old lady asking about their services...i needed the truck so I took it after giving him a piece of my mind. This store has a very low score as is and I dont mind adding to it so the company can get some nicer people in there..

This place really helped us on a last minute need to move. Mike, was very compassionate of our situation and helped get us a truck the next day. The store was very clean, the truck worked perfectly. Everyone here was super nice. I would highly recommend this location. Great job Mike

Okay so for starters, they charge you a mileage fee.. then when you bring it back they tell you you have to go back out and put gas in it when last time we used them, they took it out of our deposit. Well.. we bring it back and they not only took my deposit but I had to pay extra as well. They dont explain anything in the paperwork to you. I was laughed at for getting upset about this matter and they thought it was funny that I didnt know what was going on. LASTLY.. my fiance received a text late last night from someone giving a clear description of me, saying nasty things about me, and provocative things. The only people in the store to have proved my whereabouts and gain access to that number would be uhaul employees at that time. I will NOT be back and Im sorry but I encourage others to use someone else. Not happy. At all.

We all were confused since Doozy closed as a drop off location so they were nice enough to let me drop it off at their facility. Mostly everyone seemed to be in a good mood. Im pleased with my experience, and Id probably go back in the future

I have used this specific location about 4 times since fun expedition closed. Their pricing has been very competitive this year compared to what I remember in the past. Very nice staff, I always work with Christian and he is great.

Rented a uhaul truck for about three hours on the 15 th never got my deposit back it’s on hold pending still I’ve called uhaul three times and got nowhere my bank can’t lift pending until they release it and they won’t I guess I’ve lost 100 dollars I’ll never refer you nor will I ever rent from you again

My fiancé had storage there till last month, super clean and well lit. Not dingy like most other storage places. The manager was super helpful. He was always on top of things and asking how we were and if we needed anything. Good to know people actually care about their business . Rare these days

The trucks and trailers I’ve rented from them have been good and haven’t had any problems. However, Judy, the owner/manager is one of the rudest people I’ve met. Every time I go in there, it never fails she is extremely rude. She will sit at the desk and make comments about customers while they are still in the store and can hear her. I’ve witnessed her act this way multiple times. The first time or two I assumed she was having a bad day, but I don’t think that’s it. I think that’s just how she is. There’s other places in town you can rent from.

Moving day was pretty rough. Truck wasnt the best in the world and the driver side door was almost impossible to close. But the truck was clean, the rep was nice. Now, when the day ended, they had overcharged me by 75 bucks. I didnt get my receipt until later in the evening so wasnt able to contact them until Sunday. The lady who called back was very nice and apologetic and explained what happened. They had inverted some digits in the mileage resulting in the overcharge and promise to refund on my credit card. So, with that said I believe they deserve a 4-star rating. Thats up from one star yesterday 🙄

This location is very busy, but the staff is very efficient and friendly. Michael helped me decide what would work best for my move. I am in retail myself. I am impressed with how this location and staff work! A+++ Thanks again!!

They should be report to the better business bureau...they do not explain things clearly. I would not recommend to any one. 29.99 turned out to be 69.98 at pick up then took it and we put gas back in, but then the bill at return 90.95 and it was only 11.1 mile there and back we did this twice from rip off 44.4 miles total. Bennett Mover are cheap and they even load and unload..G

Atrocious customer service from the assistant manager Judy. I see other complaints about her terrible attitude and demeanor and they are spot on. Petulant “Happy Thanksgiving” from a worker named Skip as I left the building. Do not recommend.

We needed a truck for 2 trips when moving. From their location to ours at the time (on Austin Springs) they said we went 14 miles round trip. Anyone in or from JC knows that’s not 14 miles. Maybe 4 at best. They are such a big entity in JC, we wish there were something or somewhere else we could go to rent. Nothing is easy anymore.

Needed a truck and storage and they had a free one month storage, if you rent a truck - all storage rooms are temperature controlled with front security entrance plus the storage doors security (card slide to allow you entrance) tell you and the company if you opened your unit or forgot to close your door - pretty cool system.Weve rented a number of UHaul trucks over the past several years and since this is also UHauls main store and storage they gave great service and allowed my hubby to leave his car there while using the truck for one day to pick up and store items. Other uhaul rental places only rent the trucks but many dont even know how to hook up trailers and dont allow you to leave your vehicles there.We rented a trailer from them a year ago and they have staff that will hook it on your car and unhook it when youre done and will teach you how if you want.By pass all the other uHaul rental places and go to the real deal. This place is great, services is awesome, even the main call center was helpful when my husband realized he was heading back to the storage center and needed locks for the unit, but the store part would close when he got there. I called the main number, they tried to call this store, no answer, then the operator sent them a message as my husband was going to be there five minutes after they closed, on a Sunday.When he got there, the store part was closed but the guy in the store opened the door and said, you need a lock? Cause he got the message from the operator I called, now thats great service.

Made an appointment for 10:30 for a hitch install. They left a message on voicemail to call to reschedule for an earlier time, (installers wife is sick). I call back and changed the appointment to 8 am at their request. Show up the next day at 8am, they have nothing in the system of a schedule change, go sit in the parking lot for an hour, well try and get you in at 9. Complete cluster f.

The staff on N. Roan St in Johnson City TN are very polite and very helpful. My experience there was awesome! Clean well lit and very secure. Would have given 5 stars but my experience in Marysville Oh was very poor. They were rude and offered no help answering any of my questions and concerns. I would use Uhaul again, the truck was clean and even towing my car through the mountains of Kentucky and Virginia got better milage then expected.

We rented an auto transport from a nearby location because this location didnt have any available. When asked if they could to see of any other local locations had one available the employee and manager said doubtful. Would even attempt to look on the computer for one. A VERY quick search found the auto transport we currently have. Upon inspection of the auto transport it was found that the two front tired on the trailer were not safe for use. The location we picked the transport up from did not perform services on any of the equipment. Was told to take to the transport to the larger location. We drove 10 miles to that location and upon arrival the employees outside were very polite. We explained our situation. They told us they will change the tires and have us on our way. The manager walks out shortly after and says they dont have any tires to fit. She tells us to call roadside assistance. She DID NOT offer any help, or the information for roadside assistance. She even told us to move away from their service dock. We picked up the transport at approximately 11am. It is now 1:45 pm. We have no received any assistance from ANY Uhaul employee. At 1pm roadside assistance says it will be approximately 90 mins for help to arrive. At 1:40 they call again and say it will be 90 mins still. I WILL NO LONGER DO ANY BUSINESS with the Johnson City, Tn location. Will also be filing a complaint with corporate for the time lost, lack of customer service,and display of disrespect at this location. Management is a failure at this location

USE A DIFFERENT MOVING COMPANY. Uhaul does NOT make your move easier. Had an appointment at this location to get a trailer hitch installed and to pick up a trailer on July 27th. After driving an hour and a half to this location for the appointment, they tell me they sent the hitch installer home for the day due for a personal emergency. NEVER recieved a phone call or a voicemail. Wasted 3 hours in gas and time. Had to call the Boone location which is where I lived, and set up an appointment for the exact same thing the following morning at 7am (the day we had to move). When I arrived there they told me they couldnt even do trailer hitch installation, and tried to send me all the way back to Johnson City. As a last resort I had to get it installed at a tire shop for $75 more than what I would have paid at Uhaul. Upon filing SEVERAL complaints now through customer service, still keep getting told they will look into it. And spent over an hour on the phone getting transferred around and placed on hold and STILL have not been helped. HORRIBLE COMPANY. VERY DISSATISFIED. Still waiting for a refund.

The facilities themselves are nice but the staff/manager was extremely rude. The prices themselves are also a bit high compared to other local facilities.

Just a word of caution I reserved a truck for $137.00. When I went to pick it up the price was $174.00. It may not seem like a big deal to U-Haul, but it was a deal breaker for me.

We went in to get a truck that was available online to be told we could get .The lady there was super disrespectful and yell at my wife when asked if they honor coupons We was going to spend almost $500 to be disrespected I think not .worse place ever !!

Propane prices are double what the welding suppliers sell at. Taking advantage of people because of location.
