I work for a local memory care assisted living. One of our residents loves to garden. Wish of a Lifetime granted her wish to have a garden on wheels. Thompson Ace not only put together a beautiful selection for the garden, but they delivered them to our door. This means so much not only to our community, but to the family of our special lady. Did locate AC filters (last 2), however no price tag and a bit shocked at register as each were 12.99. Size was 23.5 X 21.5. Prices always higher at Ace.

Will only honor the Craftsman hand tool warranty if you bought the tool from them at this store!!! What??? Dont sell Craftsman tools if you dont want to honor the oldest and best known hand tool warranty. Tried to support local business (I had other things to buy) but took my business to the big blue box instead, sad...

Totally incompetent. The employees here need training in the basic knowledge of their merchandise. They dont understand the meaning of Customer Service. Just plain lazy.

Great service! We bought a fancy Charcoal but discovered we really didnt know how to use a few features. Went back to store and they were happy to let us ask tons of questions. Ended up buying a few more grilling gadgets but the knowledge was free and super helpful! Definitely will be back when supplies run out! Thanks for the help from our helpful hardware man!

I would give 5 stars if the store was bigger and offered even more products.New slogan - Ace is the place for the helpful Chicken Lady?I know I am doing her a disservice by not remembering her name, Tallish lady blondish hair... Black belt in Chicken products.Very helpful staff... their cash register counter needs to be bigger, but they do not have room. Lifting anything of size so the cashier can reach through and scan it is more than a little cumbersome.Prices are typical retail, no military or aarp discounts... Parking lot... is ok... They are close to me so I wish they would buy out and expand to the store next to them. Kudos for having chicken feed and scratch in stock.

I went to this Ace hardware because I heard they had a good selection of knives. They did have a large case full of knives but quite a few if then were cheap combo pocket knife /window breaker /seat belt cutter things. They had a few hunting knives that I could tell from the lack of heft alone they would fall apart in a couple days, and the handle on some of them were so small only a child could use them. The knives were also more expensive than they were probably worth but hey you gotta turn a profit somehow and the prices werent unseemly. The employees were very helpful and attentive. They immediately opened the case for me and let me try out just about every knife in the store. They clearly werent too knowledgeable about knives which is fine! Its a hardware store not a knife store! Overall I was unimpressed by the selection of knives. However this is a good hardware store and right up the street from me so I usually go there for my hardware needs and always find what Im looking for.

ACE is the place! When you need odds and ends for one-off bolts and nuts. They sell them as singles and you just put them in a brown paper bag and write what you selected and cash out. They have also been cool with me bring the part missing or needing the screws of unknown size and just test fit on the spot before I bag them. This makes it so you know the hardware is perfect and should only need one trip! Staff has always been super friendly and great help as well!Wonderful, wonderful place!

Poor customer service. I had 4 people in front of me. Waited in line patiently, no rush because it’s Sunday. The person checking customers out let someone else who had just walked up check out next.. even though I wasn’t in a hurry I still felt it was really rude. Instead of making a scene I put my stuff down quietly and left. I called when I left and asked for a manager. A woman answered named Allison and she said she was in fact the assistant manager. Turns out she was the one who checked me out... I asked her why she thought it was okay to let someone else in front of me. She said it’s because I looked at him. In no way does that mean “sure cut in front of me”. She defended her action and said sorry. I’m sad that management treats customers this way. I’m happy she said sorry but she didn’t even say come back we will make it up to you or something. Huge coaching opportunity here.

Great store but kind of pricey

I have only been shopping at Thompson Ace Hardware on Old St. Augustine Rd for about 3 months. I went in for Lampberge Oil. It is really amazing that the store employees just ignore you, they dont greet you, smile anything, In fact I mostly feel lite a bother to the. I ask for a certain scent in the lampberge oil and was told that everything they have is out on the shelf. She did not ask what kind I was looking for, she did not come over and try to help. I had to go to her, she looked up answered me and went back to doing nothing, or playing on her phone, I am not sure. Later I ask if she would please check the inventory on the computer and low and behold they had it. However either the computer inventory is wrong or the employee did not look it up properly Although I was told everything was on the shelf there were quite a few bottles in the cabinets under the display shelf. Imagine that, all someone had to do was open the cabinet doors! I did ask another staff member if he saw the scent I was looking for and it was obvious I was bothering him. He looked at the shelf and when I went around the corner he left. It was very obvious this girl I ask is lazy and will not help a customer unless she is really pushed and lied the first time she is ask for something. But this guy just walked away. This is the 3rd time I had to settle for a scent since they were out of the one I wanted again. But I enjoy shopping and looking through the cute household items they sell. Amazon sells Lampberge oil much cheaper but I enjoy going into the store until yesterday. So after all that I purchased 70.00 worth of items, 2 bottles of Lampberge oil. I had 3 stamps left on my card left to be stamped for a free bottle and the girl would not just give me the 3rd stamp. Forget that is usually the amount i spend each time I go in, forget that another employee gave me extra stamp the last time I was in because they did not have my scent again and the money i spent. She said I was lucky I was getting 2 stamps since they were purchased on the same order???? I ask that the manager call me the next day because I was told she was not in. I left my name and number and have not heard from her. I sent an email to the store and still have not heard from her. I have told my daughter, mom, and 2 friends who began buying their lampeberge oil and lamps because of me sharing that they had the oil there, However; after what happened and they will not be going back. Whats really amazing is running into a lady in the parking lot who was upset because of an issue she had earlier or the day before. I think she was going to return something but was dreading doing it. Im not sure she went into the store or not, she was very upset. She told me to be careful because the staff will tell their manager that the customer screamed and cussed. Im not surprised based on my treatment I received. I will go back in 1 more time purchase another bottle of lampberge oil to get my free bottle. Its the lease they can do.

Its just like their jingle Ace is the place I was doing a apartment Fix-It job and all I need to do is go in ask for some help they never lead me astray. Their prices are very reasonable. Their plants are beautiful and if they cant help you they will tell you where to go for what you need. My father used to go to Ace Hardware in Orange Park. I go to Ace Hardware off San Jose and my brother goes to Ace Hardware on the Northside. Ace hardware is the place!!😁😎⭐😄

They refuse access to pubic restrooms to paying customers. When I complained to staff member Dave and asked him to let ownership know that the policy is unacceptable, he replied:“It’s not my job to pass on complaints, you need to call them yourself.”They have lost a customer for life!

My wife and I have been shopping here so ve this store opened. We love the selection and the feel of an small town hardware store. Ive bought tools, tool chests, paint, screws, bolts, a sink faucet, had a car key made, plants, dirt, flowers, seeds, rocks and much more. I like that I can bring my dog with me and my wife and I both enjoy the free popcorn and food demos they have there periodically. The Garlic Unleashed seasoning is great! One of the best parts is the people there are friendly and helpful. They will go out of their way to find what you are looking for and if they dont have it, will order it for you. Ill choose Ace Hardware over a big box store any day. Highly recommended!

This is such a nice convenient hardware store! My go to when I dont feel like walking all over a big behemoth store. It has most of your hardware needs and even has paint and some great items for hostess or housewarming gifts!

Leaving a review because I had a stellar experience with Frank, who helped in the paint department. I usually go to Lowe’s, but they didn’t have zero VOC primer. I went into Ace to get paint for my stone fireplace. He was patient, and helped me find exactly what I was looking for- zero VOC primer AND paint (so glad they had both!) the selection was great, and I will definitely try Ace first next time because of the amazing service.

I wont be back to this store. Lady tells me I have to leave my backpack with her, I didnt argue with her i just turned around. But 80 year old grandma can bring her back in and its big enough to hold 2 bodies.

While staying with family for the holidays, my daughter needed a lent trap for her dryer. I called Thompsons Ace Hardware and spoke with Jacqueline Thompson (who was very busy) and after asking a few questions over the phone gave me her number to text questions and answers. We were able to order and pay for it over the phone. Very friendly and courteous top notch customer service. I recommend to everone to visit this family business.

Yesterday was my first time stopping in. I was looking for something to control rust on my mint plants. Larry was very knowlegable to the topic as well as all of the other pest control products they have available. Not only does he know about them but he uses them at home. Bring a first time gardener It was really nice to have someone to talk to that could give educated advice about how to fix my problems. This will be my go to place for garden help and supplies. I recommend if you need some help with your outside projects you talk to Larry!

After waiting a couple of weeks for a replacement part I finally get the call to pick up the replacement chair. I show up and they havent separated the set so I had to wait another 20 mins. Okay, no big deal, just a little annoying that Ive had to come to the store twice for an online order and they arent being considerate of my time, nor are they apologetic in any way. I go to assemble my new chair and when I go to put on the last arm, it turns out they gave me the wrong part and now I have to go back AGAIN. I called to make sure they has the correct piece before driving out there again and they laughed it off. When I go to pick up the correct part they really couldnt care less. Im really disappointed in their lack of customer service and their inability to care.
