Fast, courteous and reasonably priced service. They saved me over $100 compared to the dealership for the same service. I went to them upon a recommendation from the business I buy my tires from. Was not disappointed!!

Rude and overpriced. They overcharge you on parts and if you try to figure out the details on the charges they get nasty and hang up on you leaving you in thin air.When you’re dealing with a problem, the last thing you need is a dishonest business and poor customer service. Go elsewhere where the business is transparent and not disrespectful when they don’t get their way.

I cant recommend Glendale Automotive enough. Honest work at a fair price. I am their worst kind of customer. I think I know enough to get the work for less. But these guys are always patient and have never done anything but great work. I appreciate a shop like this. In this day and age of well the computer says its gonña take 3 hours to change your brake pads, its a rare pleasure to use Glendale Automotive.

Fred (owner) and the team have been extremely knowledgeable, fair and timely... Theyve seen my old clunker quite a handful of times over the past 2 years. First was when my car died after going through standing water during a storm not far from the shop (thanks to our poorly draining Indy streets...). I had the car towed to Glendale auto where they inspected the car, got it running again, and even fixed a dislodged underhood trim panel all by the next morning... did not charge me!I have brought back numerous times for loud, rattling engine performance which they helped mitigate and extend the life of the car. They even brought me back into the garage to show me a faulty part. Past mechanics have never taken the time to show me the actual problem, which I appreciated. Unfortunately, a brake failure has left my old car smoking, so its now time to move on and buy a new one. Fred offered to take a look at whatever new car I grab (if I buy used).BOTTOM LINE- I would recommend this mechanic because they genuinely cared about trust and to be as fair as possible. I never felt like I overpaid even after my myriad of non-maintenance related issues.

I called them up, the owner answered and said he understood my circumstances and said hed get me right in. He did just that. I was in and out kn no time. Great Price!! Weve been taking our cars here for years.

They are so accommodating and reasonable in price. Will offer you the cheapest version of scratch/scrape repair and at the same time the perfectionist version. If you are not happy with most cost effective result will deduct the cost from perfectionist version! Have had larger repairs done with equally satisfying results. Love this place.

I have gone to this repair shop (which is just blocks from my house) many times. They have ALWAYS gotten the repairs right. I switched cars with my sister who lives about 50 miles outside of Chicago so that I could bring her car to Glendale Auto because I know they will get to the root of the issue and get it fixed right. I have taken 3 different cars to these folks over the past few years and have never been disappointed. Great to know that some people still believe in an honest days pay ...for an honest days work. :)

Having frequented many of the “top rated” auto shops in my area, none compared to Glendale Automotive. Fred and Derek went above and beyond in every aspect of the PPI that I went there for, and overall turned a stressful situation into the easiest, most pleasant part of my day.As a young woman who doesn’t know much about cars, I often feel at a disadvantage at auto shops, and these sentiments have been echoed by other young professional woman I know. I have been taking my 02 Honda Accord to Fred and his team my entire adult life. I owe them a 5-star review at the very least, and will refer anyone who asks to them. They are the best! A few examples of their excellent service: 1) My cars sunroof was draining improperly and causing water to pool on my interior floor. They first came to me with a costly fix involving taking apart the dashboard, but when they could see Id have a hard time affording that fix, they came up with an ingenious solution involving a WINE CORK! This fixed the problem and with minimal cost to me. Amazing. 2) Last year I was deciding whether to fix an oil leak for $1,000+ or buy a new car. Fred and his team told me they were confident they could get my car to 200k miles at least (were at 177k now). My level of trust and confidence in them decided it for me: were going to keep this car going as long as we can with the experience of the guys at Glendale Automotive! Thank you for everything youve done for me, my car, and my familys fleet of cars over the years!!!

I came to Glendale Automotive for the first time after a local dealership told me it would cost over $2000 for repairs for my car. I brought my car to GA for a second opinion, and they fixed everything for under $150! The guys at GA are very honest and communicative with me, and as a person who knows very little about cars, they make an effort to educate me and explain things very clearly. They’re extremely friendly and trustworthy. Just as a friend recommend them to me, I’ve recommended them to as many people as possible, and they’ve always been happy with the service provided. I was nervous when getting my car in because Ive had many experiences of mechanics trying to up-sell me things I didnt need. Walking away from Glendale, I couldnt be happier with them. They were excellent all around. They didnt try and up-sell me anything, even when I called back to ask questions before I picked up my car. The owner was also in the shop and even offered to stay open a couple minutes so I could get my car since I was running behind. When I got there he didnt rush me to pay or try and get me to leave. He let me ask questions and even took me to the back where they kept the part they had replaced on my car. He showed me how the part worked and what a clean part looked like. When I left I was excited, the proof was in the car, it ran better than when I bought it used a couple years ago. I scheduled for my spouses car to be taken in the next week. Glendale Automotive has been our mechanic for years. The owners honesty and willingness to stand behind his estimates always amazes me. I recently had a check engine light on and he diagnosed the problem quickly and accurately. He also reminded me of a couple of repairs I needed. One I had been ignoring for some time, but was now a safety issue, and the other was a simple oil leak solved with simply checking the oil every time we put gas in it. The combined the repairs knowing that the labor to do both the oil leak and the check engine jobs at the same time saved me close to half the repair for the oil leak. The owner didnt have to combine the repairs, but he did.He not only stood by his estimate to the penny (like he always does, even when he has to do more then expected to fix the initial complaint with the car), but also saved our family considerable money in the long run.He always tells me when a repair is urgent or optional and is a partner in our quest to keep our cars on the road and not wast money unnecessary repairs.Glendale Automotive rocks and stands behind their estimates and their work! Just ask!

I have been a regular customer of Glendale Automotive for at least 7 years and will continue to go to them as I find that they have always made every effort to be clear and honest with the work that needs to be done. I recently took our car in for work that had previously been done. We both discovered that the parts warranty required by the EPA exceeded what his supplier provided for that part. Fred redid the work for me at no cost. I hope that he was able to get some satisfaction from his parts supplier as I know the parts were not particularly cheap. Fred made this decision based on doing what was right and what needed to be done to keep me as a customer, rather than what he was going to make on the job. Fred and his crew are easy to talk to, they do good work, and he puts customer satisfaction as a priority.

I can say with a great deal of confidence that they are officially my go to mechanics and if you go you wont be disappointed!! They were able to diagnose that I needed an AC compressor and fix it in one day, none of that overnight crap, with a great price as well ( compared to the 2 other places I went to). Fred and his partners are friendly and polite I couldnt have wished for a better experience.

I came in for a pre-purchase inspection of a used truck and he got me in as soon as he could and did a thorough examination of the truck, gave me his honest opinion on whether I should be it, and provided excellent customer service. I was 20+ miles from home and my tire blew from a pothole fiasco and no spare. I was helpless. I had heard of Glendale Auto from a few family members. I called and asked if they did tire repairs as well. The owner, Fred, answered my call, told me to have it towed there. He wasnt concerned at all that it was nearly closing time and I had no appointment. He changed the tire, himself, treated me as if I were family, and the price was far less than I ever imagined. I will forever be grateful!

Beware: I chose this mechanic based on the great reviews here, so it’s appropriate for me to share my bad experience. This mechanic happened to misdiagnose my car, which isn’t an uncommon event, particularly with non-dealer technicians. I have had this happen before, and I’m sure it’ll happen again. No big deal.What’s unacceptable, and should concern every person who takes their car here, is that the owner was either 1) blatantly dishonest or 2) grossly incompetent. It can be only one or the other, and I’ll detail my experience here so you can make up your own mind.This took place a little over a year ago: My 2002 Honda Accord (w/ approx. 200k miles) began running a little rough and the check engine light came on. Based on the great Google reviews, I took it here to Glendale automotive. The owner told me that it was a bad/old distributor cap. (Note: since I have had misdiagnoses before, I specifically asked him how confident he was, and his exact words were “absolutely positive”). He replaced this, along with spark plugs and wiring for ~$900.A few weeks later, the problem popped up again and I took it back. This time, he told me that the cylinders were not holding their compression and that there was nothing that could be done. He explicitly recommended that I simply drive the vehicle until it would no longer work and said he expected I would get another year or so out of it. So I just kept driving it until about 6 weeks later when the roughness started getting worse.At this point, I figured I should at least swing by the Honda dealer to get a second opinion just in case. Ironically, they fixed it in less than 2 hours and less than $200 by simply replacing a bad EGR valve. To the owner’s credit, he refunded me half ($450) of the initial repair, but only after I went back and confronted him about it.To recap, when I brought it back to him after the initial repair, we both knew he had misdiagnosed it, but there was no mention of that fact. Instead of owning up to this and simply admitting that he didn’t know what was wrong with the car, he instead gave me another false diagnosis. I can see no other reason for this chain of events except that the owner is either 1) dishonest or 2) grossly incompetent.I understand misdiagnoses happen, and I won’t run from a mechanic when it does. I do, however, run from a mechanic who is dishonest.Here’s some constructive criticism for the owner if he is reading this: be upfront and forthright with the customer no matter what. I am not looking for a perfect mechanic, I am looking for an honest mechanic. If you had simply admitted the misdiagnosis upfront and offered me half my money back, I would have continued doing business with you. But, given the above chain of events, I hope you can see why I can’t trust you.

Could not be happier with my experience. They were very busy but they managed to fit me in and you cant beat their prices. Needless to say Im taking all of my automotive repair needs to them.

BEWARE - This is the most DISHONEST auto shop around! The owner is a wolf in sheeps clothing! They try to act like theyre this upstanding auto shop by offering to buy you coffee and picking you up and dropping you back at your home while you wait on your car. I was told by them that I needed $2-3,000 worth of work on my car and I took it somewhere else for a 2nd opinion and they said I did not need ANY of the work done that the owner of Glendale Automotive was claiming I needed. I am one person you did not end up fooling! This place need to be reported to the BBB!

I called to ask how much to buy battery from them and for them to install he said $300 so I called walmart for them to do the same job for only $125 plus they installed it for free for me buying the battery.....
