Angel is an amazing advisor, she is very friendly, efficient, professional. Angel kept me informed on a daily basis, I was aware of every step in the process. She was empathetic to my situation because there were some delays due my insurance dragging their feet. Let me start by saying, two weeks ago we brought our truck in for repairs to be done. Repairs that cost less than anticipated. Yesterday, we started having a problem with the power steering. Knowing that during the initial repair of the truck the steering column had to be taken out to complete the job. That being said, the timing of the new issue with the power steering, we figured it was because of the job that was done previously. I went in to speak with the service department manager, Trevor, and he was extremely helpful and very much willing to listen to what I had to say. He immediately suggested that I bring the truck in and I agreed. When I got home to get the truck I could not drive it because the steering had locked up due to the power steering problem. I contacted Trevor to let him know and he immediately was on it and got his tow truck out there to pick up the vehicle and bring it back to the dealership. Trevor had his mechanics look the vehicle over and they discovered that the issue was not from previous work that had been done but lo and behold it was the battery. This sounds very odd being that it was the power steering that was having an issue. However, come to find out in these newer vehicles the power steering does not have a power steering pump nor does it have power steering fluid, it works electronically. Therefore, the battery was no longer any good causing the power steering to not work. Thankful that it was not an issue that was caused by the mechanics working on the truck previously, which would have been OK due to natural human error, but it was in fact a new issue. An issue that Trevor helped us resolve right away and we got the truck back the same day. Thank you very much Trevor for all of your help and for you to be willing to listen to me as I came in in the morning with my concerns.

Oil change was quick. Upon departing the oil life computer was reset. Complementary first oil change should have included a full DEF fill up which wasnt done. I was later contacted by one of the service managers that put a note in the file about a DEF fill up at a future date. Since the oil change I had to fill it up with 2.5 gal of DEF as it was near empty before making it back to the dealer. Review edited. Taking wifes car in today for her 1st service.

I spent $64 for an oil change and like a number of times before, they run out of labels. They manually hand-scribbled an illegible number on the new tag with a magic marker for my next oil change. When I called this to the attention of the service person, Isaac, he said just add 5000 from my odometer to figure out when my next oil change is due. How will that help me in a few months from now when Im planning a long trip and need to determine if I should first get my oil changed? Isaac should be reminded that odometers change with each new mile driven. I called to complain and was transferred to someone named Trevor. To his credit, he said he could call me when they get the correct labels in. Which means I would need to take off from work early again to make an unnecessary trip. Isaac should have offered to correct this by providing a legible tag while I was still there. What ever happened to putting some pride in ones work? When I bought my car at Norman Frede, I was assured of quality service. I will be taking my $40K somewhere else next year my when I purchase a new car.

Everyone was very nice and professional, I had a check over of a truck I just inherited from my father Before driving it back to California. Even learned the truck actually did have a neutral which I didn’t think it did, long story about my father having it set up to be towed by his RV. It was also really wonderful that the check was done for free, which I did not expect.The only thing I would suggest is trying to encourage your staff to wear masks, because the pandemic is getting so bad again. I was there to take care of my mother in a nursing facility, and it certainly is frightening to think I could bring something into a place like that, potentially harming old people. I hope everyone stays safe, and thank you so much. It was great to go to a business I knew from my childhood there, a rare familiar place in a town that has completely changed since I was a kid.

My sales person was great but not even a month later and I’m having water come into my brand new 2021 Chevy Colorado truck . After dropping it off for repair the service woman that was helping me didn’t communicate. Finally picked up my truck and they didn’t clean or fix the problem so now I have water coming into the truck and fresh stains.. This is taking away from the whole buying experience. I don’t know if I would purchase another vehicle here.

I went in to get a car and told the lady I had $1000 to put down and the car I wanted. She said that was no problem. We get through the test drive and she goes to run my credit which she comes back saying it was 0, a lie, because we didn’t have an active credit cards. Then when I clearly started getting agitated because she was lying to me she started berating me like a child and said she’s been working there since she was 19, she looks at oldest 20. I told someone I knew who worked there but in the mechanics department and he said next time I come in to have him there so that all the sales reps would behave. I’m sorry but if someone from another department needs to supervise a transaction with any sales representative then the sales rep needs to be fired and replaced with someone who has better customer service skills.

I am struggling with how to rate this, my car sat in the parking lot at Norman Frede for a month because GM had supply chain issues getting the part for a 3 year old car. I am thoroughly disappointed in GM, especially since I have never even visited a dealership that was not a GM dealership when I go to buy new cars. I will say that the service woman that understood how frustrating this was, never stopped calling and updating me on what she had learned. Breanna Stafford made the difference in why I will likely still look to GM cars the next time I am ready to purchase a new car. But GM should take this as a warning that you have deeply disappointed me in your commitment to providing reliable vehicles that can be maintained effectively.

Got off to a rocky start with a miscommunication about an open recall where I was referred to GM Recall 800 number to confirm that the part was not replaced. However, it was quickly rectified and I got a call back immediately from the staff person who made the mistake in looking up the data. He was very apologetic and went the extra mile in calling me back. Everyone I have dealt with has been super professional and responsive. My car was assigned to Isaac and he has been the ultimate professional. He has given expert advice regarding my vehicle and taken the extra step to ensure that it is in safe and working condition. I wasnt going to buy from this dealership due to a salesman that was inappropriate with me a few years back. When I called to report his actions I spoke with Pastor. He reassured me that that would not be happening again. So occasionally I would come by and look at a car. I really wanted a truck, blue, and just right. So for two years I held out. Finally as the situation would have it, I needed a car. So I thought let me just see if they have something in my price range and not a truck. Matthew took me out on a few test drives of some nice used SUVs but it wasnt in the price range. The service department at Norman Frede Chevrolet perpetuates the unfortunate stereotype that dealership auto repair shops are known for. I made an appointment in the morning(9:30am) to have a 12 volt battery replaced. It was implied that it would be ready same day. By 3pm I had not received a call regarding parts needed to be replaced or an estimate. I called them and was told my service center representative was busy and would call me back. After no return call for over an hour I called again. I was told my car had not been worked on and would not be ready by the end of the day because they had been swamped with repairs. So why do you have an appointment system? In theory, if you have a set number of appointments per day you wont get overwhelmed with the number of repairs. I was also told my battery was on order. I then asked when they began to look at my car to please call me and give me an estimate of parts and labor. This never happened. Instead I was called the next day and told my car was repaired. Upon picking up my car I found out they replaced my 12 volt battery with a 2 year battery. I didnt know they made batteries with that short of a lifespan? When I asked the service representative she implied I knew this was the battery that would be installed. NOT TRUE. At no time did she inform me of what was going to be installed in my vehicle or at what price.

I went in expecting nothing out of it on my trade in and completely having the opposite. The customer service was so amazing. I received a call less than 24 hours of submitting online. All to get everything done with a trade in and a purchase in half of a day. The Service team in the department was very friendly and courteous. They welcomed me immediately and escorted me to the waiting area as it was my first time there. They took my SUV off to get the first oil change and service since purchase. The only thing I was surprised about was that they didnt do a courtesy wash on my SUV, I did not request one. I was just accustomed to this being a part of the service from the previous dealerships that I had done business with in the past. I used to go to Bayway Chevrolet for servicing since it is where I purchased my Chevy Sonic, but since moving to Clear Lake, Ive had to find a closer shop. I went in February to Norman Frede as a first time customer for a basic wiper replacement and oil change with a tire rotation, and paid a fairly reasonable price. The time of repair was nothing out of the ordinary. But the frustration came from the circumstances following my visit. My check engine light came on recently (3 months later) and I was curious as to why; I popped my hood open to see a tool wedged inbetween some wires and tubing this week, as well as what looked like something leaking. I removed the tool (which I was glad to have found, honestly scary to think what could have happened if it was lodged into a fan or belt). Ive only ever been to four shops, only one of which Ive been to recently; all the others have been from prior years. Norman was the last one Ive been to, and logically the only place where this tool would have possibly been left, unless someone random on the street decided to toss a very specific tool into my hood. And to clarify, I dont do my own maintenance, so theres no way this was me as I dont even own this tool. Just from process of elimination alone, theres only one place this tool could have come from, as I dont let anyone other than a dealership or Jiffy do routine maintenance on my car, and Norman Frede would have likely spotted this tool had they seen it once they started the oil change. I trust your staff would have found it, as it really wasnt hiding - which leads me to believe it was forgotten shortly before service was complete on my car. Im giving Norman Frede three stars on the basis of getting the job done, but the tool being left under the hood was reckless and dangerous. I really fought with myself internally on this one on whether or not to leave 2 or three stars, but I cant in good conscience not bring it up in a review. I have no desire to get anyone fired or yelled at, but I really hope someone reads this and takes pause to tell the staff to do a double take before shutting the hood; Im not trying to be difficult with this review and want nothing out of it other than for staff to work on ensuring this doesnt happen to other cars. This tool (picture attached) must have been bobbing around in my car for weeks, and having taken my car to a different dealer this week to work on it for the leak (sorry, I just dont trust it at Norman at this point), its frustrating that Im up a creek $700 in repair fees for a thermostat replacement and a repair on the leak. Do I know if this tool bumping around caused it? No. Do I know without a shadow of a doubt that this was caused at Norman? No. But I dont find it to be coincidental that the problem I encountered was associated with parts near where this tool was found inside my car, and I know only a technician would have had tools in there (as I said, I dont allow anyone else - myself included - to do service on my car). Im grateful for my check engine light for telling me something was off, but this really could have been avoided. Please dont leave tools in cars. Friendly staff, quick timing and fair prices - but keep safety front and center. Ill wait an additional hour or more if it means not running into this type of situation again. Also, if it is your tool, let me know if you want it back. I can drop if off if needed; its a short little thing (about 5 inches in length).

He was always helpful, answered all me questions, and was never frustrated or rude to me. We negotiated the price over the phone and email. I go the price I was comfortable with and went and bought it. A painless transaction!
