Made a deposit in a couple of firearms. After the long wait I found the same firearms for lower price and decided to get a refund. Took 4 months to get a response and when I did it was because I sent a certified letter. Once communication was opened I received a email stating the refund process was started. However a couple of days later, I received an email stating that my card was fraudulent. Im now getting in touch with an attorney as well as working with my bank to get my refund back. Do not waste your time with this business. If I had read the reviews first, I wouldve NEVER did any buy with them.

Go somewhere else. The customer service is unbelievable. Placed a preorder in Feb ($1700) waited until August and still nothing. Canceled my order, but still didn’t receive any refund in more than 2 month. So I called to ask about the refund and the guy said he had 5 customers and just hanged up on me.

Worst gun shop out there i placed an online order over a year ago for a vr80 the website didn’t disclose they were back logged with that said i have called , emailed at least 15 times i have never gotten a return call or at least an emaili’ve reported this to my bank (usaa) seems like they take down payments( which is non refundable ) and have no intention of fulfilling the order . someone should shut them down i’m tempted to contact AtF on there business handlings . I will never ever try to do business with these rip off artists again. to anyone thinking of purchasing online hopefully you will read the comments several other people have reported as well and not do it . your’re better off going to a gun show .

If I could give them a negative star review I would! I ordered 2 ARs from these people. After 1 year I still have not received my guns. When I would check on my order they said the gun maker was behind on orders because of Covid. I called Diamond Back and they said that Fountain Firearms had received the order and that they were only 3 months behind. I told this to Fountain Firearms and they said they could get my guns but it would be at a higher cost. I have requested a refund but have yet to see it and their customer service is awful! If you want a good deal go to Carters Country and get the same gun for half the price.

Had the exact gun I was looking for. Friendly, helpful and professional staff. Price was definitely a little high - CZ MSRP was $749 - gun was marked at $899.99, $879.99 cash. I asked why they were $150 over MSRP and they said it was because of COVID - understandable. I paid cash and got $20 off. Application/background check was easy, seamless and quick. Feel as though I got price gouged a bit at first, but I was willing to pay premium as they were the only gun shop in town with the exact gun I was looking for. Happy with purchase. Id stay away from these guys. They are definitely price gouging. A glock 19 is listed around $1200, when any other store in the area has them for less than $700, same jack up goes for most of their firearms. Theyre taking advantage of customers that dont know any better or are most likely first time purchasers. Be warned.

Unfortunately I cant give them no stars..I purchased some mags from these folks back in Aug 2020. They never sent me my products. No big deal right... as long as they would at least refund my money. They never did refund my money. No returned phone calls after numerous attempts to resolve issue. Not even a returned email. Hard to believe. Ive never written a review like this. Because Ive never experienced anything like this. Take it for what its worth.

I purchased two .22 rifles for my daughters online from this store 9 months ago. They never came in and after three months they stopped answering any of my communication. I am recommending the Texas AG look into their business.

I’m giving it 2 stars instead of 1 and here’s why:If you are like me, just going in and looking around maybe willing to buy some AR parts or other accessories then the place is fine. However if you are looking for a gun do not go there. Especially if you are a new shooter. Now they do have some guns there old and new that are expensive everywhere you go. But there are way too many that are over priced there. I conceal carry the Sig 365 (highly recommend) and it’s $550 pre covid/pre Biden and about $600 now. They had it there for $900! They also had a S&W SD40 for $750. At MOST it’s a $550. Worst of all. Glocks. Glock 19’s are about $650 on the high end. THEY WERE SELLING IT FOR $1000!! If you’re a first time gun buyer stay awaaaaay from this place because you will get ripped off.

Ordered a magazine almost 3 weeks ago seemed straight forward got a confirmation email it was suppose to be shipped. No problem. Confirmed a few things. No update. I called was told to call back to speak with online sales. Called a few days later... No answer. I showed up at the store front on Thursday. I was told inventory was going on and remodeling that Tuesday would be a good time to show up or call. I call today Tuesday... order has been picked and should be shipped out. I asked for an eta, could not be given had to deal with online sales myself. The person that does that is not in... I asked to speak to a manager. I was put on hold for closer to 10 min, and then another sales guy picked up. I asked for manager and was informed by the other sales guy there was not one available or there. I asked for someone to help me and the sales guy said there was only sales guys available and could not say when or who would be able to call or help me. I dont know what is going on but I hope them the best. But I need my refund. Its been to long and I need too move on.

Oh, where to begin. First of all, they advertised and shipped me the wrong firearm. Didnt check the order to make sure it was correct and completely advertised the wrong item, photos and description. I called them, no joke, over a dozen times to get them to send the call tag to have it shipped back, and for over two weeks they kept saying they would. They didnt. After demanding my money back, they said they refunded me. Twice they confirmed they did. They never did. I had to end up disputing it with the bank because these people were full of it every time I called and didnt feel like doing anything about it. I accepted the fact the price was 15% higher than it should have been, but this was downright unacceptable. I would highly recommend not using them for any transfers as they have no integrity what so ever.

Highly over priced I bought a used gun for the price of a new one.paid almost 800 for a old model glock 22. I had it on lay away I was originally going to get a ruger 57. The gun is 699 online this place was going to charge me 1100. And then wanted to charge 100 bucks for a 50 round box of ammo. I definitely will never step foot in there again.staff was ok but I walked away feeling robbed. The only reason I went ahead with the purchase was because I couldn’t get my money back from the lay away. I don’t recommend them search around.

I recently purchased a used Glock 23 from Eric at Fountain Firearms.We spoke over the phone a few times, and then I came in person to make the purchase.I traded in a gun towards my purchase and my offer was fair. The price on my new, used Glock was excellent.The service and assistance at the store was great. The staff even kept my kiddos entertained.Fountain Firearms is now on my approved list.

PLEASE READ - DO NOT SHOP HERE!I placed an order for a new pistol back in August for nearly $900. I went two weeks without hearing anything from the store regarding my order. At that point, I called the store to check in on my order status without anyone picking up. I called weekly (without anyone ever answering, so I left voicemails requesting an update) until the first week of November, at which point I had enough.I went to the store the second week of November to request a refund since I had gone nearly eight weeks without receiving any communication from the store. At this point I was told they would begin the refund process. I waited another four weeks and called the store again, as I still had yet to receive my refund. No answer. I called this morning (now the first week of January) and threatened legal action, and what happened? Received my refund by the afternoon. It took a whopping SIX months for me to get my money back, and even then, it took the threat of legal action to produce any results.DO NOT SPEND YOUR MONEY HERE!

Went in here to buy some ammo and possibly a new rifle. Looked for 5 minutes and someone came up to me and asked for assistance. I told him I needed some ammo. He walked me to the caliper I needed and then someone popped off We are low on ammo so we only sell to people who buy guns from us. I looked and asked if he was serious and the kid that helped me says Yeah he is my boss and thats what he just said. Well you lost a customer because I was also looking for a gun but maybe its a good thing because there prices are way too high. I bought a gun yesterday from another shop down the road and they had the same gun for $200 more. So go ahead and keep your ammo because at that price the firearm should come with ammo lol. Believe all these bad reviews from people because they probably are spot on.

Why is this place still open? Half of their products are deposits on stuff they dont have in stock. The other half are overpriced guns (for example a $1000 stock Glock). ***DO NOT*** pre-order or put a deposit on an out-of-stock item because you will not see your money again. After a few months if your item hasnt come in (it wont), your deposit becomes store credit and if you want your deposit back, theres a 30% RESTOCK FEE assessed on your DEPOSIT (on something that never arrived) lol. If theres a shady business in Houston this is it.

Terrible experience. Ordered a couple boxes of 556 on March 21 via their website. Claimed to be stock at the time. I was then notified the ammo was on back order and should be in 7-10 days later. April 13 I wrote an email asking to either collect my ammo or be issued a refund. They called me the next day saying my order was ready. When I arrived 4/15, there was a crowd gathered outside with no system or line in place. Some people wanted to get into the store, others were there to pick up orders placed online. After waiting one hour in line with no progress, I asked the man opening the door if there was any system for the chaos seeing as I just needed to collect a small order that was supposedly “ready to collect.” His response was “we’ll get to you when we can.”Avoid this place like the plague. I understand these are difficult times for gun shops, but this place has no procedures in place to handle business professionally. They will gladly take your money while you wait a month to have your order fulfilled and watch you wait for hours to pick up your order “when they get around to it.”Edit: ownership at fountain did try to make it right. For that I am appreciative. I don’t need any discounts... just would like to see some sort of system put in place to navigate the confusing set up. For that, I’ll up the stars.

In their website they are advertising a GLOCK 43 for $399.95, as indicated on their website, I had to contact them first to see if they have the item in stock... I tried to send a message using their website, I was not able as according to it, my message has been detected as spam... so I did send them a regular email, no answer at all... then I decided to call them... they told me the Glock 43 price was $850, I told them about the item advertised in their website, the guy was rude and told me that he had 3 years without seeing a gun like that, that the website was showing old content and theres nothing he could do, and hung-up!...

DO NOT SHOP HERE!!! I placed an order on 10/18/20. It took them two weeks just to tell me they didn’t have the firearm. Now its been another two weeks and still waiting on my refund! I have emailed them 3 times and called 5 times and still they have not responded nor refunded my money. Decent enough shop I suppose and Ive done plenty of business with them over the years. , but I can tell you they DO NOT wear mask, nor do they social distance. I believe we can either be part of the problem, or be part of the solution and get on board with that solution. Not an issue for me. I simply wont be back.

We drove an hour to this gun store because they had a pistol that my boyfriend has been looking for in stock online, on a saturday where their hours on Google said they opened at 10am. We showed up at 11am and they were closed. No-one was answering the phone and no movement was in the store but all the lights were on. There were also no business hours posted outside the company. Hard to rate a store properly when the store is not open for business.

Customer service after the sale is not worth the extra 10 to 15 percent more than the major gun stores. When they say all sales are final they rudely mean it. I would suggest that you check all of your paper work to include the SOP manual for your firearm before leaving the store. I had to call the manufacturer myself to get the correct manual for the gun I bought.

I walked in on the phone and proceeded to browse around. The staff was very informative and patient with my taste in firearms. After some time I made my decision and everyone thanked me. I didn’t feel rushed but more of treated like family.I would definitely recommend this business to anyone that’s new to firearms or are a very experienced shooter!

At the start of pandemic many similar stores were sold out of rifles and didn’t give you the time to consider other options. I had the pleasure of dealing with an older gentleman who discussed options and helped me settle on a Kel-Tec, and he showed me how to use particular model. My reason for 4 stars is the paperwork side... most places these days have you compete forms on iPad and it’s takes 10 mins (as I have my LTC license) but these guys still use old school paper forms. These guys know there stuff in regards firearms but could maybe update their systems a little.

This is the place to go if youre looking for something youre having trouble finding. However, everything is overpriced, even the used guns. Theyll give you a 5% cash discount. The fella with the goatee is great. Hes knowledgable, and finds a way to answer your questions. The asian fella is hard to understand. They really dont have a huge selection of ammunition, but they do have some. Mostly rifle rounds.

I have purchased all of my firearms and ammo here. Nothing is too big or too small for them to handle, and they provide excellent advice and customer service to myself and my family. If they are not the best at some part of the business, they will direct you to the people who are, such as the time I needed help getting a good quality safe for storage of my firearms and other valuables.

I recently discovered Fountain Firearms, and the few times Ive been there, they are always nice and helpful. I believe the owners are an older couple, but even then, they are available and willing to answer your questions. It would be a good idea to know what youre looking for before getting there - it makes their job easier.The inventory is not overpriced. It is not cheap either. But they have plenty of guns, good variety, ammo, accessories and it is all priced pretty much like the rest of the market. It will be worth the drive out there to check out their inventory.

Did my research on a firearm that I wanted and checked it out on their website. Showed being in stock so headed over. The staff was very friendly and helpful. They showed me the firearm and when I was ready to buy they went and got one that hadnt been touched. They had the firearm on sale on their website so they sold it to me for the online price no problem. The entire experience was great!

Highly disappointed in their price gouging during the COVID crisis. It would not be a major issue for a 10%+ mark up on regular msrp but for example they are charging almost double the going rate of a Glock 17 gen 4 (which is the old generation) reg 499-550 and they are over a 1000. They have even marked up the good ol hipoint to laughable pricing. I just don’t understand the lack of ethics in order to make a quick buck in the short term. I understand supply and demand but this is bad business practices in a short term shortage.

Don’t order anything from these people, especially preordered firearms. They will take your money quickly, but it will take an act of Congress to receive a refund. They are down right criminals! I preordered a firearm in February and never received so much as a call or email regarding my preordered the firearm so I purchased the gun from another store and canceled my order with Fountain. This was over a month ago. I’ve emailed them basically begging for my money back and haven’t heard anything from them. This place is the absolute worst!!!!!

I took firearms photos in for insurance appraisals after Owen, the owners son, said he could perform photo appraisals. He took the photos and said his appraisals would be ready for pick-up by the weekend, but when I arrived, he hadnt begun and told me that he would have them ready in another couple of days. I showed up four days later and he still hadnt done them, only this time he disappeared and had one of his employees return to the counter to tell me. From that point forward he was never in the store when I called on the phone. The employees always seemed to know he was working on them but he was never available to talk to. During the next month of calls, he was always too busy to come to the phone and never returned my calls. I spoke to his mother who owns the shop, but she said she had no part in the appraisals. Apparently, she didnt see the correlation between her sons negligence and how this affected my desire to spend my money on future firearms and ammunition purchases. I called, sent e-mails and letters, asking him to at least return my photos, but he never responded. In the meantime, my claim filed with the insurance company lapsed and, while I did receive some compensation for my loss, I feel that had the appraisals been performed I would have received a more appropriate settlement. I enjoy bringing business too mom and pop stores but too many firearms stores exist in the Houston area for me to waste my time and money on operations run like Fountain Firearms. Not only did Owen lose my business, but also that of everyone else in the firearms circles in which I move. As their prices are competitive, at best, its just too easy too find other mom and pop places that know what integrity means to people who have hard-earned money to spend. Too bad.

IF you have a gun chambered in a hard to find or obscure cartridge, there is a good chance these folks have it in stock. Selling guns here is also quick and painless. My go-to-guy is usually Eric, but I have had a great buying experience with them all.Support your local gun stores!

Ordered something online, but it wasnt in stock. They promptly issued a full refund without me needing to ask, which I greatly approve of and appreciate.However, it would have been nice to know the item in question wasnt in stock prior to purchasing it. Now I still need/want to purchase the item from somewhere else, however Im short the money to do so until my refund comes through, which usually takes days or not. Not the retailers fault, thats on the credit card companies. But its still an inconvenience born of the incorrect listening on the web store.Personally I would recommend that Fountain Firearms refrains from charging online orders until the order is at least ready to ship. That would avoid the issue of having to insure a refund for a situation like this.Ultimately, I have to deduct 2 stars for the error. However I will give one back for immediately issuing a refund.In the end to anyone looking to buy something online from them, I recommend calling them first especially if its a hard to find item.Hopefully Ill get my refund before everyone else runs out of stock too.

This is a small independent shop. Selection is limited, but the staff will work with you to find what you want. I ordered two firearms through this store without a hitch. Also found ammunition here that I was unable to find elsewhere. Service was super friendly and thorough. Some people might not like it, but the small, cozy environment of the place just works for me.

As a business owner myself I know how important customer service is, and can tell you that most people who have a good experience will not take the time to write a review. I can only speak for my experiences, but the customer service has been good and I will continue to make this my first stop when shopping for guns or supplies.

Prices for used firearms are only a slight percentage reduced from regular price. So literally, for a few bucks more, you can purchase it brand new.Selection were mostly Smith & Wesson for small hand guns. A smattering of glocks.I could be missing out on something, because it was very busy and packed during my visit today. But if we walked out with purchasing anything, it was a miss.

John assisted me with a purchase. He was extremely helpful and polite. I will say they are very busy with in store customers and try to answer every call. Several times he excused himself to a answer someone’s question and check to see if they had something in store. He always apologized when he returned even though it wasn’t necessary. I watched all of the other employees assisting other customers and taking time to answer numerous questions. I saw the complaints about price being higher than other options but they do have an online store. They do transfers with the option to buy in store merchandise instead of paying a transfer fee I believe. It seems like an awesome deal who couldn’t use some ammo or accessories! I will try them the next time I need a transfer. They had what I was looking for when 6 other stores in the area did not. I also noticed a few in demand rifles and handguns available. There is something to be said for having a diverse inventory. I would recommend them especially if John is helping you! He shook my hand and thanked me for my business before I left! Well done sir!

Having come from the uk i went in with my american wife to buy a ar15 lower they didnt have in stock but ordered for me great service from the younger salesman i cant remember his name and he called when the item came into stock exactly when he said it would...all the staff are very friendly..the next time we went in we wanted a 9mm the asian man showed us loads of guns and was v helpful until the younger man came over and knew exactly what i wanted great store great staff will always use them

Honestly Best Firearm store i been on, they have a nice inventory and the people there are very kind and helpful which makes it a good experience when buying.

My husband ordered ammo only to never get it have called multiple times, emailed and even sent them messages through their social media in hopes that someone responds and nothing. we spent $32 for something we never received and am now going to contact my bank and dispute the transaction the order was placed on 3/20 well over a month now.

My Father and I have been going here for years, he longer than myself. We had the privilege of knowing the great man who started the store, Jerry Fountain, God rest his soul. He always had a joke for you when you came through the door. I think in the time after his passing that he would be very proud at how his family is running the store. I am and will always be a true and faithful friend and customer. No store is great all the time, we are only human. But I have been treated with respect even when I didnt deserve it. I have known the guys out at Fountain Firearms for years. They have always treated me well. Yes, their prices are higher than gun show prices, but they are always there and I dont have to wait for a weekend show and deal with that crowd. The way I see it, if we dont support our local shops, they will be gone forever.

Always friendly. If they dont have it, they can get it. Plenty of black guns to chose from, and they know the law. They have handled 7-8 FFL transfers for me over the last 2 years, all easy and fast.

Customers service sucks I ordered guns three weeks a go and they can tell me where they are and are helpful on the phone and then they act like they do not what you are talking about

Pre ordered a handgun and have been waiting for weeks now. Every time I call to check all they do is tell me that there’s no way of telling, I said that’s fine because I know distributors are very random with their shipping. So I asked what my position in line for the gun was and they just told me there’s no way to tell what number I was. Once the told me I was number 4 then another time said they had no clue and there was no way to determine. They get short and impatient and rude with me to when I ask. I put down $285 which was a huge mistake because they were will not refund your deposit if you decide to cancel. So essentially what they are doing is making you pay your non refundable deposit then making you wait for months without receiving your item and giving you ZERO information or updates in hopes that you just get frustrated and cancel your order so that they can keep your deposit and not have to sell a gun. I’m extremely irritated and all I do is get hung up on. I will GLADLY delete this review if you guys can give me some answers and give me customer service. Please contact me so we can talk and I will take this down as soon as I get some customer service.

Customer service isnt so good as far as getting help with looking for a beginner firearm.

Ordered a rifle that was shipped to the store, while there traded my handgun for an up grade. All the guys were super friendly and knowledgeable and make you feel comfortable asking any question.

The Chinese guy is pretty rude, not helpful AT ALL. I am new to all this gun and ammunition stuff. Went in to get info on prices of bullets for my new gun and he didnt even bother to show me the different kinds their are.
