The staff are friendly and professional and the facility is clean and neat. They were able to service my car within a few hours and had me on my way. I can definitely endorse Car-X as a great auto servicing and repair shop.

The manager was very informative about an issue that he noticed that was going on with my vehicle & brought it to my attention quickly!

I will recommend this place to anyone in the south suburbs. No other place actually fixes the issues and is straight with you about what’s wrong. Keep it up.

Completely unprofessional with no respect for customers time. Scheduled my appointment online for 10 AM the next day, and received email confirmation. Called before coming and the manager told me I can come in. Came at the scheduled time and was sent back and asked to come back at 1pm. When I came back the manager told me that “they can’t take me because they are short staffed and he was ordered to take other cars from different shops”. Very unprofessional and disrespectful. Avoid that place like a plague.

I received phenomenal service at this CarX. The tire on my company owned vehicle was leaking. The manager assessed the tire and found that it was repairable. He fixed the tire himself and got me on my way very quickly. I will definitely use this CarX again.

They were extremely helpful to get my lights back on this week and I am very grateful. They were all super friendly and didnt overcharge or run up my tab like some places do.

I set an 8am appointment on line. Rushed to get there on time and they hadnt opened yet. I, along with 3 other cars were left waiting in the parking lot for them to open. I ended up leaving at 8:15 since thats the longest I will wait. If a business does not value my time, I will leave. Its unfortunate because I was contemplating using them for all of my car service needs as I decided not to go to the dealership any longer after 4 years. And, they are in the neighborhood. Advice: dont allow 8am spots on line if you cant get to work on time. P.S. its my understanding that this was not an unusual occurrence for this location.

We dropped off our vehicle for an oil change and tire rotation. I only hope that businesses like this, are not taking advantage of customers by collecting the fees and not doing the work. This is only a concern, I have no reason to believe any local car repair shop has done that.

Meh... Car not fixed. Opted not to have it done. Quote $200 over the other subpar place. Why doesnt anyone weld or do hot work anymore? There are still some old metal cars on the road like my 2003 Model T!

When I arrived I was assisted immediately. I was shown excellent customer service throughout my whole visit. I arrived at 8:15am and was out about 9:45am. Everyone was friendly. Went on a Saturday to get my car fixed. The alternator and battery was reasonably priced. The customer service was good and they even took me home which saved me money on an uber. It would have been nice to get an update as it took a little longer than expected. All in all a good experience.

I just recently had my oil changed during this pandemic and I felt completely safe and was extremely pleased with how quickly they were able to accomplish the job even though I was not able to stay inside the store due to new rules great job Charles the store manager I commend you.

I came to your place of Bus. Thursday Dec 26, 2019 at 1:30 PM. I was very depleasd of the outcome. I ask the gentle to give me a quote on replacing my head lights on my truck and I had my on bulbs. He quote me $ 110.00 which was extremely high. I told him, I just wanted to hear his quote. The Last time I came tocar x to change my light bulb for $ 5.00. First of all, let me say that this is a very clean establishment. I was extremely surprised to walk in and not have a long wait even though I was late. The service was spot on from the front desk all the way through to the workers. For the first time ever, I received an opportunity to do a ride along to actually hear what the mechanics hear. My brakes were fixed in less time given and I really appreciated all the assurances and attention to detail. Tim Foster was exceptional with his observation and was spot on with the problem. Charles the manager was very informative, very helpful and explained everything I need to have done. I highly recommend this place. Excellent job done!

Outstanding experience! These folks are ethical, knowledgeable, patient and kind. They could have charged us for an alignment after replacing our very old tires, but they took it for a test drive and determined it didnt need the extra work. The car was ready when they said it would be and even at 5 p.m. on a Saturday, they didnt cut any corners. Well be back and will refer others!

Not only were the prices matched, but it actually came out cheaper getting new tires and rear brakes done here, and the service was excellent and done in a timely manner. Bought a brand new tire from them. Went flat the same day .. manager explained how it maybe was just a bad day and nothing was wrong. Went flat within a hour of me leaving CARX. So I took the same TIRE to FIRESTONE.. I got informed Ive been getting SOLDOLD AND REFURBISHED tires (FOR THE PRICE OF NEW $130) . Called cooperation they said they would speak to the HOMEWOOD CARX LOCATION and have them fix the problem.. they NEVER SPOKE TO THEM. No free services got offered, didnt give my money back. No discounts or anything. BAD CUSTOMER SERVICE. Manager even admitted to not having the best workers. WOULD NEVER RECOMMEND!!!!!!!!!!

The manager is condescending and unfriendly. He thinks because he uses the terms maam and how can I help you that he is asserting good customer service. But he is not. After my car is repaired I will not return. And its really a shame because before the new management, I was a long time customer and have referred others. But the new management is not producing an environment that I would like to plant my hard earned money in.Update: I spoke to the manager and he apologized for how I was treated. It was a bad day for him with so many things going on that day. We all have bad days. But he was willing to accomodate me with my issues. He followed up with me to make sure everything was cool after my repair job. Not to mention, when I went back I saw a totally different person in him. Very courteous and kind. Im glad because we really need good places we trust to take our cars to in this area.

I have no idea what we just paid $90 for. We dropped our car Saturday and were told on Monday we need a new engine. No reason why- turns out they didnt even run an engine diagnostic so we took our car elsewhere. Super fun wasting money and time and still have no idea why my car is stalling out. Not impressed.

Two words. Scam Artist.I went there because my check engine light appeared. They quoted a price of about $1400 to fix. I declined to get a second opinion. I took it to the dealer. It was only missing some type of cap. Still under factory warranty. Price: $0.... Moral of the story go to the dealer not these guys or you will be ripped off.

I was traveling up near Homewood to visit family when I suddenly got a flat tire! I had a full spare in the trunk thankfully but always have a hard time getting the original tire off.I know the Car-X in Champaign has always been great when I go and was lucky enough to find one here.Denise helped me arrange for a tow truck and was even able to fix my flat tire! She was very understanding of my situation especially since Im not from around the area. I highly recommend coming here for any mechanical repairs. I originally gave this place 5 stars, only on the basis that they took me in earlier than my appointment. And in conversation were very kind. However, I noticed that with the oil change that I went in for, that they recommend taking care of other issues you may have. Prior to taking my car there the only issue that I had was, I needed an oil change. My tires were removed and they stated something was broken which posed no issue prior to going there. I kind of know how machanics like to offer other services that you really dont need, I told them no thank you just do the oil change. I may have had a bit of an attitude about it because I knew nothing was wrong with my car. When they finished my oil change I left, no complaints. But about a week into driving it my tire began to squeak which never happened before. Now my car makes noises that it didnt make prior to going there not to mention that the machanic made sure to get oil stains all over my white car with hand prints and also managed to get an oil stain on my carpet which is baige that he covered with my mat. Highly upset! I pay a lot of money for my car from a reputable dealer. In no way did my car return to me in the way I sent it in. Will not patronize this place ever again. Beware! If you do go in for an oil change make sure you tell them dont do nothing else but change the oil. I havent looked to see if they actually changed the oil will be checking tomorrow. If not they will be hearing from me. Lastly, I have people to fix my problems if I need something fixed. I wouldnt let anyone else do it anyway so dont risk messing up somebody else car to make a quick buck. Im not the one. The tire pressure was off too with a cap missing from my tire valve. Never again getting my money! Oh my car shakes a lot when on the highway! Messed up Mechanic which is where my problem lies not the customer service although they may have played a part.

If I could rate it ZERO stars, I would. I knew the original family owners for over 30 years. They had superior mechanics and a friendly attitude. All the great reasons to do business with this company are GONE. The mechanics are not certified, the work is not completed on time or well....What a huge disappointment. The whole experience was horrible.

Visited location on a Saturday to have 6 used tires installed (my own). It took the technician 3 hours to complete the procedure, which is not terrible for a busy Saturday morning. After, tire installation I went outside to verify correct tire placement.I notice only 2 out of the 6 valve stems were replaced & all of the old wheel weights were still on my rims (tech only static balanced = lazy), as well as the wrong tires mounted on 2 of the rims. Kindly asked the tech to verify. Technician, lied to my surprise, & assured me that he balanced all of the tires & replaced all of the valve stems.I can clearly see only 2 valve stems (oxidized) were replaced & tires were not balanced properly (old weights still on).I regarded the technician as deceptive (although he did end up remounting the correct tires back on the rims.)Brought that incident up to Charles the store manager. He was defensive & visibly upset with me & not the technician for clearly lying, nor was he concerned with the poor quality of service provided. His response was ; Take your keys & just go after he is done, you dont have to pay, this is what you wanted. insinuating I was trying to scam them, not once adressing the Techs incompetence or deception.I offered to pay, manager declined again. I re examined all my tires & left the facility. Service was poorly completed. The 3 star rating, is only due to me promising initially to give a high rating & I do it with reluctance...The store manager Chris, although polite & well spoken is defensive & unwilling to acknowledge any honest criticism or fault with the quality of the technicians hes managing.Thank you, but I dont believe that free gesture was well intentioned, more of a ; go away we dont have time for small ticket $$ repairs or to redo that service properly. Will not be returning; average pricing, at the cost of integrity & quality Would rather pay a fair price for quality work.

I stay all the way on the far east side of Chicago. I drive all the way to homewood to get my car repaired @ the carx. A guy name Tim foster took care of my car without overcharging me like most shops. The service was fast, worth what I paid, & no more worry if my car was repaired right. Everytime I go they fix my car right & never had problems.
