This review has a happy beginning and an unhappy ending. Note that I have not received my bed and that it is scheduled for six weeks out. My wife and I received excellent service at the point of sale. Our sales associate Adrienne was winsome and engaging. She was helpful and knowledgeable about the product. We cheerfully purchased the bed, some accessories, and a headboard.Two days later (Monday following a Saturday Purchase) we decided we did not want the headboard and preferred to purchase one someplace else. What I thought would be a simple call turned into a nightmare. Our cheerful salesperson Adrienne told us in no uncertain terms that any purchase of furniture was nonreturnable and noncancellable and that she had no authority whatsoever to make this change. She provided a customer service number.This number reached an automated system with the tired recording of “due to unexpected call volume...” and then a long 30-minute wait. Most people would have hung up by then. Of course, this was not the right number for this problem and I was referred to a customer service agent at headquarters in Minneapolis. This was another 800 number with the same “due to unexpected call volume...” followed by a very long wait and an intransigent customer service agent named Breck, who informed me that in the miasma of pages of obtuse legal language in four-point type, there was a clause that said to the effect, no cancellations with no exceptions. She said she would contact the store to see if I had in fact signed the contract, and that if I didn’t, I could cancel. This obviously was a toothless offer because I would not have received the acknowledgement without having signed the contract.Here is the ultimate irony. The manufacturer does not have the materials to make the headboard and there is a six-week lead time to make and deliver it.Suffice it to say my wife and I are disappointed and unhappy. We invested a considerable amount of time and ~$8,000 in purchases at the store. I probably spent another four hours trying to communicate with customer service to solve the problem. It seems very unreasonable to me that they could not accommodate this simple request.As I noted, it will be six weeks before I receive the bed, so I cannot comment on the relative comfort. I can say did this upset me enough to lose sleep. This is a cautionary tale to anyone who reads this. The “in home trial guarantee” is a hollow offer. The instant you sign the contract you are keeping the base and any upholstered furniture no matter what. Customer service is hard to reach, obdurate and uncompromising and really offers no service at all.I am hoping that sleepnumber will wake up and come to its senses, and resolve this problem so that I can rewrite this review in a more favorable light.

I had bought a C2 model mattress back December of 2019. I will say the staff where extremely friendly and professional. The whole buying process was very easy. I had the worst delivery experience. They had brought my bed in after I drove a hour home from work for them to set it up which isn’t a issue. However, they bring everything in and they cut rips in my old mattress to carry it out to there truck easier, which is understandable since I no longer need it. But what was frustrating was after they ripped my old mattress they bring everything upstairs to the room and they can’t fit the box spring. So I am without a bed for 3 weeks. I had to sleep on my couch until it came in. Now of course after talking to several supervisors they agreed to buy me a air Mattress which Is fine. But I had hardly any sleep through the whole process of custom ordering a split box spring. I will also say it is a nice built mattress but it really is a $2,200 air mattress. I encourage everyone to do more research before buying.

We spent 3 hours in the store picking out our bed. The store manager Adrienne was excellent , patient and thorough. She knows her stuff. My husband has a bad back and we were allowed to try many options. There was not pressure or trying to upsale us. Loved it.

We were highly impressed and thoroughly pleased with Sleep Number, Hickory, NC, and their staff. Jeremy led us every step of the way from opening the store early when he saw us standing at the door to walking us through the app setup and delivery arrangements after our purchase nearly 2 hours later. (The presentation didnt take 2 hours. We went out for lunch, then came back and finished the transaction.) I would describe Jeremys presentation as well-prepared, thorough, intelligent, and low pressure. He gave us quotes on our top 2 choices and helped us take advantage of all available discounts. We highly recommend Sleep Number beds, the store in Hickory, NC, and their helpful and courteous staff.

The entire staff was friendly and professional. My sales man, Joe, was very knowledgeable about all the products. Joe showed my wife and I three different sleep systems and we never felt rushed or pressured to make a decision. If youre in the market for a new bed, I highly recommend visiting a Sleep Number store.

What a great experience! Cant say enough about the professionalism and knowledge of the staff. They have a special setup where we found out how the beds work and determined our Sleep Number Setting. We could see ourselves on the bed in a large screen on the ceiling of the glass cube. We could even see the changes in our pressure points as we changed our Sleep Number setting! It made the science behind the technology so easy to understand--plus, their beds last over 25 years. Our last bed needed to be replaced so quicky because it just didnt feel the same after my wife lost weight/had a baby. That wont happen again because we can adjust the bed now. Plus, when I workout I like to raise my setting a little during the recovery period. We ordered an adjustable base that goes up at the head and foot as well--totally, totally impressed. Thank you to Karen and the whole staff.

Not real happy with my sleep number bed , my air chamber has a leak and the bed is under warranty but I still had to pay 140 dollars for a new chamber . The bed is like an inflatable mattress unless you put a foam topper on it. I would suggest buying a real mattress and not get caught up on gimmicks like sleep number

We so far really like our split-king mattress. Its very comfortable and has eliminated my hip pointer pain. The adjustable flex-fit base is great. The first one didnt work so they replaced the entire base. My only concern is the durability of the base. We found out after we bought it that all sales are final the 100 night trial is only for the mattress. With only a 5 year warranty on the electronics, motors and sensors, we are worried about it breaking and becoming very expensive maintain if it breaks. If we had it to do over we wouldnt buy the $5000 flex-fit base.

I am a professional procrastinator. Plus I/we make no purchases until I/we have studied our options completely and have arrived at the decision that best meets our needs/wants and budget. It took us three years of research and trials to make our decision.The Hickory, NC Sleep Number Store get a 10 plus for patience and helpfulness. Great people, know their products and could give Job a lesson on patience. We purchased the ILE and now are in the “can’t wait” stage of waiting for delivery.

The representatives at this location take their time to listen and suit your sleep needs. We are 20 year owners of a Sleep Number bed and decided to upgrade to newer features. The demo beds really show you the pressure points and how to alleviate discomfort during the night. Our purchase experience was pleasant being offered but not pressured into buying things we didnt need. We bought the i8 model without adjustable base(but having the option to add later), basic waterproof pad and new pillows, which we love by the way. We would highly recommend this store for your Sleep Number experience.

After checking almost all the other mattress stores my wife and I went here. Probably should have saved time looking and started looking here! We were never pressured unlike most of our other stops. We chose the right bed for us though they are a bit spensive. But you pay for quality. Never the less we enjoyed our time in store. Really would have been better for us if we could have gotten it then instead of waiting 10 days or so for delivery and set up.

We love it and we ordered one. Laying on my side. My sleep number is 65 my back sleep is 100. I recommend this to anyone that has a bad back and see Joe at the Hickory store in front of the Valley Hill mall. He is a very good, and kind salesman and not pushy at all.

My experience was very good however the only thing I would change is being more responsive to the customers coming in as they are having to wait for an employee to clear with another customer.........there should be some type of intermission or video that the customer watches that takes the time it would take with another customer but it would also be nice to assess people’s time they have up front and adjust presentation to that
