I mostly love this place but the food is inconsistent. You could order the same dish on 3 visits and get something different each time (although, theyll all taste good). I always receive great service.

Rude! Called to see if they serve al pastor. Guy on phone didnt even answer the phone like a normal person. Only reason I knew to say anything was the phone stopped ringing so I asked my question and the guy sounded like I was the biggest inconvenience. I dont even care to spend my money here when there is another Mexican place by Nagawicka with better reviews and they were way more polite.
I had the vegetarian dish for lunch, it was fine. Their selection of vegetarian specific dishes is very limited.My friends enjoyed their lunches, and were glad we tried it.
Antonio is a wonderful person. I dont even know where to start. He is incredibly kind, service is impeccable and prompt. Antonio and Antonio alone will keep us coming back every week. This man is the best in the business and I have been in service for 20 years. The next time that you stop by this hartland gem, ask for Antonio and he will make it a night to remember. Small amount of food for a high price, I think they used the microwave to heat my meal. Never will go here again. There’s way way better quality Mexican restaurants out there.
Extremely rude waiter. We (party of 2) were sitting outside where there are about 12 tables and only one other table was occupied. The inside was not busy as well. We had been there about 2 minutes and the waiter asked for our order. When we said we would like a few minutes to look at the drink and food menus he became very sarcastic. Told us we had to order now or we may end up waiting 2 hrs for food and it would be our fault. After he brought our drinks he took away the menus and said he needed them for other tables. While we were still eating he brought our check to the table and walked away. Never asked if we wanted another drink or dessert. The food is average and not worth putting up with such rude service.

Food was cold and when asked if it could be heated up a bit they were okay with it. Got it back and it was still cold.They seems angry about having to heat the food up. The place was not even busy. I had never been there before, but will not be going back anytime soon. Rather expensive for the small amount of food you get.
I walked in and asked if I could order some chips and salsa to go. He said that I need to call it in causer they only do curbside. Mind you not, there are customers at tables. I was going to get a soda and just relax for a min. The manager had a real attitude problem and made feel like I was over working him for some chips salsa to go. Never again will go this place a jerk like that working there.
Portions a little small! Seems like less food now. Debating on returning for that reason. but tasty!
Stopped in and although I had to wait for about 10 minutes due to Covid, staff went out of their way to find a seat for me as soon as possible. I actually didnt wait that long! Food was delicious! They are extremely short-staffed and the food came out very quickly despite the lack of bussers or wait staff. Will definitely return!
Really chill atmosphere delicious food and one of the best salsa and chips Ive ever had service differs based on who your server is but thats no reason to not try out there amazing menu
I try to look for the positive in my reviews but this time I find a positive feeling is elusive.6 of my friends went for lunch here and we found out that this is NOT even close to good Mexican Food.The Burito I had such small filling it was Flat on the plate. Refried beans were tasteless. And when I asked for a fresh jalapeños? I was told they do not have them!?! They brought out a bowl of green water and said that was their hot sauce. And all this with 2 beers came to $27.00 per Person FOR LUNCH!If you want a good Mexican theme food? Senor Tomas is NOT the place to come to.

I have been a loyal and returning customer for this business since probably 2010. I normally dont write reviews or anything but I had a not so great experience recently. I have never left Senor Tomas not feeling satisfied and I have been a longtime customer.I ordered Carry-Out and I accidentally handed them a 50$ bill instead of the 5$ bill I intended to give them and they didnt even come back out to my car and give me the bill to ask for the right one. My bill was only 28$ so they almost profited 30$ off of my simple mistake.Like I understand I made a mistake in the bill that I gave, but if you are handling cash you are clearly seeing the extra money as you put it into the register. I had to ask them for it and it took them 5 minutes to hash it out in the lobby meanwhile I waited outside in my car.
Great service for there only being one waiter on staff for lunch service today. Super friendly, always great food! Loved the Elote Con Queso starter!
I was very displeased by my recent customer experience here. The employee answering the phone to take the order was very rude, which is usually the case. He was was also very rude when trying to pick up the order. The food is good but there are other mexican restuarants in the area with better customer service.
Bad service small portions and over priced
Wonderful Mexican & Latin Cuisine. Not your ordinary Mexican restaurant. Lovely, complex dishes expertly crafted and served by delightful and charming staff. The margaritas are wonderful, too. Felt like we were on vacation dining on the spacious patio. Cant wait to go back!
I ordered takeout enchiladas today. The dinner was excellent!! So much food and it tasted great. Took away my doldrums for a while.
Fantastic experience all the way around! They had the food ready when they said they would, their food pickup procedure was very ordered and well layed-out. They were very polite and efficient both over the phone and at pickup. The food was hot and fresh and they got all of the little particulars for my kids correct.

The food was very good and customer service was superb,but i think my favorite part about the restraint would be the bussers well at least one of the bussers,I think his name was Hunter Turner.
Obsessed with the shrimp diablo, but just about everything is so so so delicious (I have about an entire lifetime of eating here). Their curbside process is smooth and theyre a regular favorite in our familys routine.
So fast and SO TASTY! Totally will be back! The chicken tacos were FULL of flavor! Our waiter was very sweet as well!

This has been my go to Mexican restaurant for years. The food is so yummy and the atmosphere is cozy, colorful and fun. I love going here for amazing food and drinks with family/ friends when I am in town. I have had the enchiladas, burritos and chimichangas and they are so tasty and flavorful, you can tell the food is made with passion. Senor Tomas has the best authentic Mexican food I had ever had. The margaritas are phenomenal too. Can’t wait to go next time !

Big menu, much variety-both food & beverages. Fair prices for quality of food. Good service. Good casual dining. Chef came by to check with us on our order--some of us had food allergies. Take your picky eater here. They may be pleased.

Personally my favorite taco place. The food is amazing. It’s never that packed. The service is not great just to the fact that it’s hard to understand some of the waitresses because of their ascent but overall just a great restaurant.
I like to support local businesses, especially one as nice as this one. A family-run restaurant with nice outdoor seating when the weather is nice, Senor Tomas has a great blend of traditional dishes along with modern takes on Latin classics. I had a Hawaiian burrito (I think thats what it was called) topped with ham and pineapple and filled with seafood. It was great! There are also good drink specials and the service is excellent.
Had really great Arroz con Pollo. Enough left over for lunch the next day. All in all a nice experience.

Great food! So cute inside, lots of local charm and other local businesses supported through this restaurant.Ordered carry-out, but next time well definitely be dining in. The portions are substantial and the flavors are great.The TIERRA y MAR tacos on flour tortillas were absolutely delicious; the meat was perfectly cooked and shrimp well-seasoned. The way the goat cheese melts a little bit and it tastes like a hint of balsamic on the cabbage, wow so great.Will return!
Ordered chimichanga with queso sauce. Came with just a very small amount of sauce so I asked for more. She came back with what looked and tasted like catsup and melted cheese. The other item we ordered was limited in quantity.We were a fairly regular customer in the past. DisappointedTo my surprise we were charged $3.25for the catsup and melted cheese.
Our food was very good. What sets Senor Tomas Mexican apart from other Mexican restaurants is they deviate from the typical tacos, enchiladas and burritos with beans. They have that. Their specialties are excellent and different. The decor is pleasant. Service is efficient. We parked on the street in front and there is a wheelchair ramp. There is also a city parking lot behind with direct access to the lower level dining. Charming restaurant in a charming town.
Very good food. Our waiter may have been the human incarnation of Eeyore but the food and drinks came quickly. If you enter from the street, its not super obvious where you need to go to be seated. I suggest parking in the lot behind the building because the hostess is located at that entrance.

This is a great place for lunch! I have been a few times with customers and business meetings. Food is great and it’s always been good service. I prefer to sit near the bar. Some of the rooms have a tight feel so I will avoid them.
Ive visited this place a few times now and havent had a BAD experience, but its never been good enough that I want to go back... Because of a scheduling conflict we ended up in the area this past Saturday without a reservation to our usual place so we decided to try this place again... Meh... margaritas were pretty good, but everyone in our party was underwhelmed with the food, and were pretty sure the waiter did not like us... They close at 10 and by 8:45 the waiter gave us our bills, without asking us if we were done, and then by 9:30 they basically asked us to leave. I get it, we were the only ones there by that point... But maybe change your hours to reflect what your staff thinks is the proper closing time... That was awkward and embarrassing. It will probably be another 5 years before we try this place again.**Edit: Sorry, I cannot figure out how to respond to your response -- I attached a screen shot of your Facebook page, where we saw your hours, and of my Google timeline showing when we were at your establishment. We left at 9:38 pm and finished our conversation in the parking lot (why it shows 9:45 pm as the leave time). The tip was more because I tried some of my friends combo platter, so included $4 extra to cover that.

Eat inside upstairs and chat with the owners who have been there for almost 40 years. Delicious authentic meals. Locally sourced and very fresh. Relaxed atmosphere with heavy duty drinks. A great experience with friends!
I’ve been coming here for years. The food is always delicious, the service is so awful. The guy today especially was not the greatest. He literally walked away as I was telling him my order. I asked for what numerous times and finally after we ate our meal he brought them.

Very good Bistro type Mexican food. Service is a bit slow, but is tolerable for the food provided. Plates average $14 for lunch and $18 for dinner. Still worth it.

Expensive. Bland. Service was lacking. I dont mean to be critical but I havent been this unimpressed with a restaurant in quite a while. I love Mexican food, this was way off. Burrito was flat and sad looking as well as flavorless for $18.95. Enchiladas $14.95 looked okay but lacked flavor, rice (side) was not fresh, it had a lot of crunchy bits that tell me it was in steam table too long. There were two servers working, one seemed jovial and engaging, we had the other one. Margaritas were very good.

Everything was just right. The lighting not too bright or too dark, the server gave us the perfect amount of attention. The black and white family pictures are a lovely touch. I actually came for breakfast and the food was VERY good. I cant wait to try lunch and eat outside on the deck!

Came in for the first time with my friend and we absolutley loved it! Tuesday night wasnt too busy. Loved how things were more quiet than the typical Mexican restaurant, sp we could hear each other. Loved the warn, clean, and classic atmosphere. The food tasted home made and was delicious. My Margarita was also amazing! Our server may have been the owner considering his nice outfit, and although a bit difficult to understand, its nice to know he was actively checking on his customers. 12/10 cant wait to go back to try more food! Also - quac & salsa were delicious!

Over priced had party of 7 for lunch wouldnt break the bill up so they could charge the 18% gratuity I tried to explain to them we tip 20 to 25% but had a small language barrier. So splitting up the bill was terrible I had to take my shoes off.
It’s really sad. Used to like this place. They just simply don’t care anymore. The wait staff is complete buffoonery. Chips stale. The Chile rellenos were greasy and look liked they were dropped onto a plate from a thirteen story building. Sad but just can’t come back there anymore. We need a decent place for Mexican in lake country!

I got the Machaca, and WOW was it delicious. It’s a Mexican breakfast dish, but you could definitely eat it for lunch as well. It was so so good. Do yourself a favor and go get it!

Food is ok. We like the patio and ambiance but were gonna take a break from this place mostly because the service is sketchy. Servers & hostesses have not been very friendly/welcoming nor do they seem especially knowledgeable about menu. We have had problems with our order and check being correct on a couple occasions. Tonight we sat on the patio in 80+ degree weather. No one came to refill our waters after the first glass was served and our food was delivered when our drinks were almost empty. Server didnt ask if we wanted another and we didnt have time to ask. Had to flag him down later and then he brought the wrong size Margarita. I go out to enjoy myself not feel like I am an inconvenience to restaurant staff because Id like the drinks & food I order at the price listed. (And we always order right off the menu, not anything custom or unusual.)

Awesome carmel apple margarita. Service is okay..hit/miss. Food is okay. Nothing special but your standard Mexican food restaurant. Perhaps a tad pricey but would come here again. Overall a pretty average Mexican place.
