I had my first hair appointment ever at Ulta today, Andrea is great and really listens to what you want. Definitely would go back, even got to speak with one of the other associates Kylie while there, they’re both incredibly nice.

Stylist Andrea did an amazing job fixing my color! Im a happy little blonde pixie! Also this woman deserves a raise, she is the only stylist working at this location currently and she doesnt amazing job!

This store is well-stocked, clean, and has always had what I needed. That said, I never look forward to going because every single time Im here, I get accosted by staff asking me if I found everything I needed. Id love to tell you if I didnt but when its been five minutes and Ive had four different staff members ask me REPEATEDLY one after the other, it ruins my shopping experience. They also try to suggest things to go along with what Im already buying, which I get is to increase revenue, but LEAVE PEOPLE ALONE! Let us shop in peace. I dont know if this is a West Michigan nice thing or if they think Im stealing but I try to get in and out ASAP or just purchase what I need online. Its ridiculous!

The store is clean, organized, and vibrant as always. I did not like that fact that within 3 mins I had one lady ask me then another lady TWICE in 2 mins. I would rather be asked once then left alone. I also felt profiled as well because I brought a bag in from another store. I asked if they would like to keep my bag up front while I looked around they said they couldn’t but to keep it in my basket. My husband went back to the truck to put it away . I was then followed around every aisle by your rude employees, who were loudly talking about me which made my shopping experience bad and I ended up just leaving. We don’t go to your stores to get judge, profiled or to be talked about when I’m right there. Shame on your store location.

Wow! Just a note to say thank you very much to the staff who assisted me today at the CenterPointe Mall, Grand Rapids, store while having some “moments”. It happened so quickly. Definitely felt that I was going to pass out 2 different times after suddenly feeling very warm, flushed, faint & weak. Then sudden pain and stomach discomfort. This was possibly from food poisoning after lunch a bit earlier today. It was awful to feel so faint, weak, dizzy, and trembling while in a store, planning on shopping, not this! The staff gave me a bottle of water, a chair, a cold cloth, and stayed with me until I was ok to leave. Thought I was going to have them call my husband it was such intense moments. So grateful for their concern and kindness shown to me in such a state. They didn’t have to do what they did-many of them were there to help, and this is not something you see a lot of these days. So I want to be sure others know how helpful and considerate they were!

I had a great first experience at the 28th st Ulta store. The staff are so friendly and helpful. Christian assisted us and their customer service was flawless.

Just ran in to grab a gift card for Christmas. Very Fast and friendly. I can see why my friend likes to shop here. I might have to try it out for myself in the future. Its in centerpoint mall but its actually an outside entrance like a strip mall. So if you are looking to shop and not go into a covered indoor mall this is the place for you. Lots of other interesting stores nearby also. Thanks guys !!

It can be a fun place to shop locally, online prices are typically less and finding someone to help can be a challenge at times.

I have seen 8 employees crowding at the front of the store saying hi to each other, but there is a line of customers stuffed into the back aisle waiting with 1 person working the register.Their register customer service never makes any sense to me.

If you need a cosmetic product that isnt available at the department store, this is a great place to try. If you know what you want and where to find it, its a great place. On the other hand, if you cant find the item, or have a question, DONT count on the floor staff to help you. They wont know. Another thing that bugs me is they publish a coupon in their ad and on line, but it doesnt apply to 99% of the store! One of the reasons I went there in the first place is that you could sample.I realize that right now that would be dangerous, but that was the calling card of the place.

Was in store yesterday for my first time ever .i felt the young lady kylie at the door was unfriendly no smile just a very upsetting stanky look on her face .i felt like she was down grading my look as if i didnt have money mind you ive never been here before so i was just looking around im now absolutely in love with this place.all the other staff was very friendly and helped me out.even know i felt uncomfortable after my experience at the door i did by one thing cause of it.hoping my next visit i can actually feel comfortable to shop more.

Love this location. They have most of the brands I need. Sammy slays my brows and the salon is fantastic, I recommend all the stylists. I love my points and credit card. I always get my hair and makeup products for cheap when using my points from services!!

It’s a good place to BUY makeup but not TRY! As with any makeup store, make sure you check the box as well because Ulta may or may not be selling used makeup products. Other than that, it’s a good place to go for makeup. If you open the box and find the product used, just return it.

It has all my hard to find gems for products and at lower prices too!! So many options of each product line, love it!! Super clean, staff helpful.

I needed to get ready for a new professional headshot for work. Before the shoot, I scheduled a makeup application session with Sabrina and eyelash application with Sammy. They both did an amazing job. Sabrina works with MAC products and for a $60 fee she does your makeup and then you also get $60 of Mac Product for free. What a deal! She made my makeup look professional and perfect. Sammy was organized, skilled and instructive so that I can apply lashes myself now. Highly recommend both. The magic they do for the very reasonable fees they charge make this a no brained choice for weddings, parties and photos. It’s an hour of time and the result is outstanding. My pictures turned out great.

I went in looking a hot mess on Saturday. I was having a bad day and needed a pick me up.I hadnt been in the store before so I had no idea where I was going. An associate quickly saw I was struggling and rescued me. He was very helpful and I was actually in and out in no time flat. I also wasnt made to feel terrible that I walked into a public place with no make up and my hair in a bun.I was impressed with the store set up, the vibe, and the checkout was painless even though the store was packed. I will be back. Im normally an at home shopper but I really do want to see more of the store.

I recommend Nicholas at the salon, 100%. He was informative and VERY careful with my hair once I told him about how sensitive my scalp is. He spent several hours making sure it was the right color, being careful not to get product on my scalp, and he gave me several options and a quote before beginning which was nice. He went above and beyond!My fine, damaged hair feels completely healthy now. I am so happy.

TL;DR - An employee snipped at me because there was a sale that didnt ring up and I tried to be helpful by showing her the signs where it said the sale. People behind us could not believe her attitude towards us either. Employee needs a some customer service training ASAP.My mom and I visited this location on Friday, August 14th from about 5:00-5:30pm. When we walked in, we were greeted by someone very kindly and then we started looking around. My mom needed new basics and we went to the drugstore brands to look. Someone else offered help, but we didnt need it, but I was pleased for the offer. LOreal had a buy 2, get 1 free sale going on, so we selected our 3 items along with 2 others and got in line.We got to the register and our cashier, Clorissa, wasnt kind, but not mean, she seemed to be perpetually having a bad day. She rang us up and the price was a little more than expected, so I asked to confirm that the buy 2, get 1 free had been applied. It had not.She was so less than thrilled that we had to go see where the signs were and I followed to point to a few because her attitude and demeanor made it seem like they werent supposed to be up anymore. As soon as I pointed maybe the 4th one out, she snarled at me, Are you going to point out *all* of them? I then walked back to the register, completely baffled by the rudeness of the comment, and we checked out but she made our sale issue feel like a huge inconvenience and the people behind us were very less than thrilled that she was going to be their cashier.Yeesh. When the people behind you give those big did that just happen? eyes, you rethink where youre going to shop. I have the option of shopping at any of the other Ultas in the area and that was my preferred one until Friday. I may not be a big spending customer, but you bet Im telling everyone I know to watch out for the personnel at this location. Good grief.

I booked a hair appointment at the Salon at Ulta and am in LOVE with the results!! I was pored with a lovely lady named Madison. She was super kind and understanding. She made me feel comfortable and confident in her skills. I went for something a little bit more dramatic, red highlights 😳 But let me tell you, Madison has magic in her hands!!!! I am IN LOVE WITH MY HAIR!!!! Thank you soo much!!!

Ive been into this location twice looking for stuff for my daughter. The first time the staff was friendly and helpful. The second time they were friendly and went above and beyond to call another Ulta branch and have them hold what I was looking for.

Really great. Prestige Manager is very knowledgeable about products and helped me stay within my budget. Had facial too...very nice experience. Hair cuts pretty good but pricing system for store as whole for salon is questionable. Nothing extra when paying more for services at extended levels. I have been in this store MULTIPLE times, and every time not one associate acknowledged I was even in the store. Especially when I was trying to find something and have waited for associates to finish their girl talk and continued to ignore me. I always end up walking out empty handed because I cannot find anyone to help me. Is this place appointment only to get help?I dont know why I go back expecting different results. Never again.

Go to a different store!!!Wanted to get some makeup for Valentine’s Day to look good for date night. I do not wear makeup normally, so I watched a makeup tutorial online to learn what I would need. I wandered around the store for 10 minuets with no staff asking if I needed assistant or anything, but found what I needed. I picked out a foundation color that matched my skin tone, but wasn’t sure what concealer needed to be paired with it. I had to walk to the other side of the store to where two employees were standing, talking and do nothing (they saw me approaching and averted their eyes from me) I asked them if the concealer and foundation number needed to match. One employee replied “yeah” and that’s all she had to say, I was hoping the girls would have offered to help me find what I needed, but they just stared in awkward silence at me until I walked away so they could start talking again. I returned to the makeup section only to be confused and wandering more, but still no employees to help me. I even looked around the store and none of the customers appeared to have any staff anywhere near them, like we’re all a plague to them. I finally picked out what I believe I needed and the cashier wasn’t much help either. She never asked if I found what I needed, only started scanning in silence. Final verdict: all the employees here are horrible workers that don’t want to help the customers.

The cashier I had was so rude! All she said to me was hi and phone number for rewards. She barely smiled if you seriously hate your retail customer facing job go find another.Definitely will be going to the Grandville one since they seem to just have nicer employees in general

I’ve been to this location several times. Most of the time, the line is extremely long, with 2-3 cashiers. No additional associates to help assist to reduce the line. It’s almost as if it’s not anticipated that it will be busy. It’s a Saturday.There’s enough employees working the floor to assist customers, just to go stand in line.

This is my local Ulta and I would say for the most part about 90% of the time (which is amazing considering I feel as though we are in a real slump regarding customer service for at a minimum of 4 years) I get better than average service from the employees here. The store stays pretty clean and organized although I would like to mention the three or so other Ultas near me or loved ones Ive visited are usually markedly cleaner and more organized. I was told that there are large Ultas and small Ultas mine being a small one. I guess this accounts for the lack of a few top brands that I woukd very much like to have near.Like i said I do travel to a few different Ulta locations and this, my local one, is the least impressive. Major brands are missing from this location such as:The ordinaryColourpopHolika HolikaNatures RepublicSkinfoodSleekAnd a few more that are escaping my mind currently.The THREE primary elements that make my local Ulta even worth the drive (because lets face it I could just wait until I visit a loved one and check out their Ulta or go online) are:A. They carry two of my FAVORITE European brands: Essence and CatriceB. They provide me with the most extensive list of products from one of my all time favorite drugstore brands Physicians FormulaC. Because they are local, smaller, and I am a skincare and makeup obsessed lady who finds these two things to be a creative outlet to help me maintain my sanity, they really do get to know their local customer base.One note of caution: the very first time I went to this Ulta when first moving into the area I asked I sales associate (yes, given on the high end side of store) for some DRUGSTORE recommendations for some pretty basic cosmetics such as primer, foundation, consealer, ect.The sales lady then legit directed me to one of their MOST EXPENSIVE foundation in the store (at this store it is Lancome, which I am positive is FABULOUS, but honey I asked for drugstore for a good reason!) Which did not sit well with me.I then explained to the employee that I was recently divorced and a single mother and as nice as the product was the math was like this: ONE product that I needed and neglecting the others that make a full face for job interviews OR drugstore full face of needs which I....well...needed!AGAIN! I was directed to ANOTHER high end product. Frustrated with the service I became more stern, dug in deep and let her know that I will not be talked into a product I cannot afford and would like a DRUGSTORE recommendation.She then said to me she didnt know a lot about drugstore products and literally shrugged me off because I was no longer worth her time.Since that initial interaction I will say although I did not say anything to the management I never saw her there again, but I cannot be certain if it was this isolated incident or of she was trained to direct me to products I specifically said I did not want and could not afford and then make me feel like I wasnt worth her time when I did not buy her upsell.If you made it this far then congratulations! You are a true blue skincare and makeup obsessed human being and I can almost say with certainty that we would be best friends and would talk for hours upon hours of new releases, influencers, favorites, and dish recommendations to one another and spill tried and true makeup secrets we thought we would take to the grave with gorgeous painted faces :)But seriously, I know this long, ridiculously long, long, review will not matter to most but to the few it does I hope this review finds you well and Ill see you in the aisles of Ulta searching and swatching for the next ride or die

Won’t be returning here. All of a sudden they claim to not give out a made sample of any moisturizer. Plus lines are too long with not enough cashiers at checkout.

Rude service at checkout wont be going back

The staff continues to be uneducated and not helpful. I bought an item saying it had a free gift, with my past experience with un-knowledgeable staff I knew I was going to have to mention the free gift at check out and of course the associate had no clue when I mentioned it. She asked for help and the other associate said no we dont have any. The problem I have is that none of them actually looked to see if they have the gift or not. I will only be buying online from now on.**The staff could use some educating on how to deal with products that are on sale. I know there are sales everyday but I went in one day because an item was on sale. I went inside looking for the item and the items were all behind the counter, I was told the product was not on sale. I then told them I had an email saying it was on sale and I was told that must be an old add and they turned their back on me and continued to gossip in there circle. I started to walk away but then I pulled out the ad that I had gotten that day and had to physically show the girl the deal, she then went to go scan the item and sure enough it was one sale. Staff should verify before just telling someone no because they don’t actually know. I do love ulta, I have a serious obsession for beauty products.

I have gotten my hair dyed once by Ulta and it turned out amazing! So I went back in a few weeks ago, but with a different stylist. It turned out to be the assistant manager of the Salon. I told her I wanted a light strawberry blonde and an inch taken off, but I ended up with orange hair and at least three inches taken off. It was terrible. She told me she was so excited doing full redheads and reassured me the entire time, but she changed everything. After writing to someone, it took 3 weeks for anyone to answer back to me. Not only this, but no one seemed to listen to me. It has been the worst experience and I work hard for my money. I just feel bad dropping so much money for this service. Ive had to strip all of the dye out of my hair. The woman just kept telling me they would give me a complimentary trim, not a hair cut. And Im like I have no hair left. And she kept repeating herself and didnt seem to listen. Awful. Do not so to that salon.

I went to the Ulta store at Centerpointe Mall for the first time Saturday, March 12th and unfortunately I will never go back to that store. I went in seeking some help on the purchase of Juice Beauty foundation and when someone finally came to assist they recommended another brand to me and dismissed what I wanted. When asked if I could have a small sample to take home to view in a different light she rudely said no and walked away.

I wandered around for an hour, not a single staff member offered help for the very obviously overwhelming supply of make up in the store. Even asked for help with picking some things out, I got a give me one second response, and 30 minutes later I walked out. Plenty of staff there as it was a Saturday evening, but I was very much ignored. Will not go back to, will not recommend.

Staff seems to be uneducated on products, no one ever says hi when I first walk in, I always have to approach an associate when I need help and it seems like it’s a burden when I ask. I always see a group of workers huddled up talking when they could be helping a customer. It’s just very unprofessional and uninviting.

I have always loved ulta. However, everytime I go there there the employees are RUDE, and always seem to have an attitude. There are employees standing around chatting in a circle, and I feel wrong for interrupting to ask for help. I cannot believe the customer service.

Well it goes without saying that because Im a girl who loves make up, skincare, and all things beauty, I love ULTA.Its quick and easy to stop and purchase everyday essentials, and then some. I usually go here vs. Sephora only because the selection is greater however, some items from certain brands are only availabke at one store or the other, so then I go to Sephora.Sephora does a great job of keeping their little testing area well stocked with sponges and other disposable applicators as well as make up remover and cleansers. Whereas ULTA offered me a q-tip for applying lip colors, and a dry tissue for clean-up..... They really need to step up their game in that arena for sure. I think most ladies would agree with me here. The lack of testing supplies makes me wonder how many people simply go ahead and just apply product with the testers built in applicator. Gross. Thats the only reason I didnt give ULTA 5 stars. Otherwise, the staff are usually knowledgeable, friendly and helpful, without being pushy or annoying and the selection of both prestige and drug store brands is great!

Wow did that just happen.. I set an appointment up for me and a friend to get our hair done I sent the lady pics of what I wanted and she gave me a price quote of $130 so I said OK Ill give or take $20 .. Just incase it was a little more.. So not only did we drive up there when we go there she told my friends couldnt even do what she wanted... Then proceeded to tell me my hair would cost $282 .. Wait.. What just happen.. SMH not going to happen thanks for waisting my time.

I usually enjoy ulta, however was there yesterday and the staff was less then helpful , the gal we did track down to help was kinda rude, not very personable. Didnt greet us with a smile or say your welcome when we thanked her. We were not impressed with Saturdays service.

I had SUCH a great experience at this salon with Jailyn. I was going from a light auburn color back to my natural golden blonde, and hadn’t been to a professional salon in years. Jailyn recommended a less damaging transition (from darker to lighter) by doing a balayage...and she killed it! I’m so thankful I trusted her advice! My hair looks and feels great. Highly recommend her. 😊
