This was such a great experience. I was visiting Shenandoah NP & got a flat tire, well completely busted my tire. I was so upset because I had just gotten 4 brand new tires the day before I left for the trip! I called all around and nobody had my tires in stock, I was going to have to wait at least a day to get them ordered but when we called Mcarthy Tire in Front Royal, VA, it was my lucky day because the manager, Homer, answered the phone and could not have been nicer!! He got my tires the same day and I was able to pick up my car the same day the tire popped. He was sure to get the right tires and made me feel so much better about my accident. His kindness made me wish this was my local tire place. I wish I could have thanked him in person but I picked my car up after hours so Homer, if you see this, thank you SO much!! 10/10 recommend this tire place!

One of the few honest shops left.These guys are upfront and honest, no-nonsense. All professional. I spoke to Homer while I was here getting an alignment and turns out I needed some parts and repairs to get my truck rolling down the road straight. Homer worked with me and got me exactly what I needed. No extra parts or special promo pushes, just did what needed to be done. No smoke and mirrors. The mechanic was upfront and honest about the repairs and told me that it had to be done. They got exactly what my truck needed to fix the problem. I would recommend these guys over anyone else in the area, bar none.

My wife and I would like to give McCarthy tire in Front Royal a HUGE shoutout and thank you!! Long story short (somewhat), I was heading home (Linden) from Manassas Saturday evening after work. Our 2009 Honda Pilot started shaking violently on Rt 66, crossing the mountain I noticed a significant loss in power. I managed to get it home safely thank God! While inspecting driveline components, I noticed the passenger front outer axle boot had failed. Since it was 8:00 pm on Saturday, no shops were open to quote/conduct the repairs. With football practice and bus stops to address on Monday, the urgency to get the vehicle repaired couldn’t be more obvious. My wife and I dropped the Pilot off Monday evening using their key drop box. I called McCarthy 1st thing Tuesday morning. To my surprise, an old friend answered the phone. It was Homer!!! I’ve known Homer since middle school. I explained the situation, he understood my concerns and said “don’t worry Nate, we’ll get you taken care of” those words alone brought peace. We received status updates throughout the day, (we didn’t have to call wondering if the vehicle would be repaired or if any additional issues were detected.) The communication from McCarthy was supreme!! From the sales team to the mechanics and anyone else involved, we sincerely thank you and appreciate all of your hard work!!! The Pilot was repaired within 5 hours having all 4 axles replaced, tire rotation and tire balance (reasonably priced might we add.) Repairs were paid for over the phone and we picked it up Tuesday evening. Returning back to work on Wednesday morning seemed more realistic thanks to all of their efforts. We can not thank you all enough!! We HIGHLY recommend McCarthy Tire for any of your vehicle needs and will continue to do business with them in the future. Customer focus, transparency and communication really set the standards for McCarthy Tire, for that we are grateful.

Had a flat tire the evening before returning to NY, car rental had AAA put donut on , weren’t much help after that , looked online to check out tire places near Luray and knowing I had to go through Front Royal picked McCarthy to go to . The manager was very helpful and on my way after fixing the tire. My first thoughts were that they’d want to sell me a tire knowing I was on the road but quite the reverse, can’t be more appreciative for their service!

Homer, the current manager, and his staff do an excellent job of taking care of the customer first and foremost. While it seems a lot of other auto and tire places are more concerned about how much they can profit; Homer and his staff are more concerned about what they can do to help the customer in the most reasonably priced manner. They are highly skilled mechanics and they know their business. So many times we have taken our cars in for a repair, etc. thinking we would have to spend an arm and a leg. Not the case; its always the best they can, for what you really need, and at a reasonable price. They also always discuss this with you ahead of time. This is what a great business is about - high quality service, well-trained staff, and attention to customers. My husband and I dont hesitate to recommend McCarthy. I ended up at McCarthy Tire after getting a flat while traveling. They were the only local store that was open at 8 AM and also had the correct size and brand I was looking for.Homer and the other workers were very kind and they got the new tire on in minutes. The price they charged was fair (though I wouldn’t call it a bargain) considering I had a flat and they could have easily ripped me off. It ended up being $18 more than I was quoted.Seems like this spot has some hardworking folks and good inventory. Thanks for all of the help!

Wonderful Customer Service! My dad and brother have sworn by McCarthys for years. We found out first hand when our truck needed a front end alignment and inspection. Knowledgeable and friendly staff work hard to make sure you dont wait too long and care about their customers!

I received exceptional and courteous service from Homer in the Front Royal, VA location. I asked him to take a look a tire that had a sidewall cut in it. I was wondering if it was safe to drive or should be replaced. He was very assuring that I did not need to replace the tire. Given that I was 1,000 miles from home and obviously not a tire expert, many tire stores would have taken advantage of the situation and said I needed to replace the tire (plus of course the other side as well). He said he would drive on it if it was his. I very much appreciated Homers honesty. If I lived in the area, I would be a customer for life.

Best auto place in town. Quoted me a price on the phone. Paid exactly what they said. They pointed out some concerns and did not proceed without my approval. Its not often you find outstanding service, especially in this area and twice in one week! I very rarely post reviews, but was impressed with the caliber of the management and technicians here. These guys are respectful, competent, helpful, and timely. Kudos to Homer, the friendly, down to earth gentleman with attention to detail. I have been going here for many years and as always Homer took good care of my car. I did notice he is really swamped with no upfront help. It was non stop with the phone and walkins but, he was nice to all. He really needs some help upfront with the phone and walkins I would hate to see him leave it would not be the same without him.

Went in expecting to pay over $300 on a new tire as this was suggested by a BMW dealership. Homer and Billy of McCarthy convinced me that my original tire was still in very good condition and that they could repair it first rate. I really appreciated their guidance, honesty and service. Thought I’d be paying $300+ but went out the door at $19. Big kudos to McCarthy Tires!! I’d highly recommend them!

I cant express how awesome this business is. I started going to these guys about 3 years ago and havent left since. The work they do is always done properly. Ive gotten various things done on my cars over the years and have been very pleased. They are very honest people you can trust. The employees always have smiles on their faces and are ready to greet you as soon as you come in the door. Their location is very family oriented. I always have one or both my daughters along so its a piece of mind knowing they have things to help keep them content. Huge tv, variety of magazines (adult and kid friendly), basketball hoop, snack vending machine. The waiting room itself is spaceous. I always get my exercise there because I chase my kids around the waiting area loop. Their location is also very close to various things to do. So on a nice sunny day you can walk to restaurants, antique shops, main Street in town etc. Again I cant rave enough about this place... Homer. Christian, James and everyone are awesome. You wont regret going here.

I had to go to this Front Royal shop three days in a row to have my car worked on after suffering an unfortunate auto accident. This was my first time visiting McCarthys and Im always skeptical when trying new places (mainly because Ive been screwed over once to many in my lifetime). However, having said that, I was very happy with the service I got and a young man named Kristian was particularly helpful. Fabulous customer service and kind, friendly people! I was visiting Front Royal , VA, my husband is walking the AT, and had car noise trouble. Took our car in and I explained to Homer about the noise I was hearing. He had the head mechanic drive our car and check it out. He explained to me what the noise was and told me it was safe to drive home. I offered to pay for their time and trouble but they did not charge me.

These guys are honest and trustworthy! I was travelling on the East Coast with three of my children and had clogged cataletic converters. Homer was very up front that he didnt have a special piece of equipment that could make the installation faster and much less expensive. Ive taken my car here twice now. Both times Ive walked out feeling satisfied. I called and asked for advice on my car, and instead of forcing me to come in, they took the time to get a tech to walk me through the steps! They are amazing and have gained a permanent customer!!!

My car failed inspection at a shop in ashburn, VA, the shop wanted to charge me $370 for the repair! My guts told me that the price seemed unreasonable - so I called McCarthy thats conveniently located near my home and they quoted me half the price and they allowed me to bring in the parts too !I was greeted by JW aka Homer and he is a very friendly down to earth guy. While I was waiting for my car to be repaired, we played a quick game of COW lolOverall, i had a great experience and will definitely come back again for any repairs or maybe tires in the near future.

I went in for an inspection and oil change expecting it not to be done till the next day considering the parking lot was over full and they had a sign saying booked for state inspections. I dropped my car off with Homer and he said they would try and get it done by the end of the day if possible. Weve been taking our cars here for years and have never had issues with them. They are very helpful and always tell it to us straight. This past summer, my wifes car blew out a spark plug 70 miles away from home. The garage that the car got towed to told us we needed a machine shop to fix the problem. I called McCarthy and they said that no machine shop was needed. I had the car towed to McCarthy and they saved us over $1,000+ on repairs.

Best tire service that I have ever had. We were from out of town and in a jam, and they helped us out immediately. This allowed me to drive 200 miles to get home. Not only did they help us but they didnt charge us for the service. I am forever grateful and apprecitave for anyone to Homer, James and their crew at McCarthys tire service. God bless them and we are so appreciative.

Terrible service. I got a very questionable rejection for tie rods. Replaced them. Returned following day to be told there were 13 people ahead of me. Apparently McCarthy is not aware that state law requires them to take in previous rejections IMMEDIATELY following current inspection in progress. Also, they balanced my wheels. Ha! My car NEVER shook before but it dam sure did after their balance job. NEVER AGAIN MCCARTHY!

Was told tires would arrive around 2:30 in the afternoon when I placed the order art 11:00am. Still hadnt arrived at 5:30 pm so it cost me my day waiting around on tires. Finally at 6:30pm I was able to drive away with my new Cooper tires.

I stood waiting to talk to sometime for 20 minutes while the guy was on the phone. Finally, after getting frustrated waiting, I called the business. Another guy comes in and answers the phone. He tells me they arent doing any more services for the day. It would have been nice if any of them could have taken a minute to tell me that so i wasnt waiting for do long. Not impressed with their customer service. I was there for an oil change, but i also need tires soon. Ill take my business elsewhere.

I purchased tires from Tire Rack and decided to have McCarthy Tire in Front Royal install them being they are a TIRE center, so this SHOULD BE their specialty right??? I first had tires on the rear mounted and balanced being they were almost worn through, then after having the struts replaced a couple of weeks later, I had the front tires mounted and balanced. I drive 140 miles round trip to work daily and after driving the first day there was a pretty good shimmy in the steering. Second day was not any better so figured the balancing was off. Took car back the following Saturday to have McCarthy re-do the balancing of my front tires AND check the tire pressure to assure it was 34 lbs. all the way around. After waiting for about 45 minutes, my vehicle was ready to go. I asked what the tire pressure was at and was told 34 lbs. on ALL FOUR tires. Drove home and did not test drive until Monday when I headed off to work.Monday morning as I go on the highway getting up my speed of 68-72 mph, Im still noticing a shimmy. Now Im thinking this is either a case where McCarthy did nothing and just said they did - OR - perhaps I have a bent wheel. When I got home I decided (after letting tires cool down) to check the air pressure in all four tires. The first three were 32 lbs NOT 34, and then couldnt believe that I found the fourth tire to be at 37 lbs !!!!!!!!! Really ... how can you be THAT OFF???!!! Obviously they dont check behind themselves - OR - it was intentional. Anyway, I deflated the 37 lbs to be 32 and when I drove it the next morning the shimmy was not as bad (so apparently an overinflated tire can cause some issues with the quality of your drive), but the shimmy was still there. This shop was previously Duncan Bros. Tire who I had trouble with and never went back - thought I would at least give McCarthy a chance before I boycott them too - so after taking my vehicle BACK to correct the problem and the problem still existed along with the ONE overinflated tire and the other three NOT at the 34 lbs I requested but they stated that they were, I will never go back to this shop either. I am very disappointed because I like to think that there is somewhere that you can go that you can trust as well as getting the job done right THE FIRST TIME. At this point, I am feeling that the overinflated tire was done intentionally perhaps because my tires werent purchased there.I decided to go where I should have gone first because they are participating with Tire Rack but just a little further away, I asked them to be sure to remove all weights and start over with ALL four tires. If the front two were off, Im sure the back two would be also and I would not know until my brand new tires were showing wear prematurely and by that time the damage would have been done. This was done on a Monday and I headed back to work on Tuesday morning and was so relieved to find that there was NO SHIMMY at all. What a pleasant ride it was to work, in spite of the traffic, I now didnt have to worry about my new tires getting ruined.
