It’s mainly a bike store, but they keep running/walking shoes. I went there as i knew about them from my previous gym Orange theory fitness, Playtri used to keep shoes demo sessions in the gym and always liked the shoes they showed.I went and told my requirement, and i was well assisted by owner of the store. She was attentive to my requirement and told me they do not keep wide sizes but suggested to go 0.5 size up and it did the trick.I had an old $25 gift card for the store that didn’t work at the time of billing and she still honoured it and this took all my stars.I came back with a HOKA Clifton 7 shoe! Now i have to use them and start walking/jogging ...

Recently purchased quite a few bike accessories and I want to say they offer great service. Personal service. The guy working wasnt pushy or trying to make commission. He however did offer helpful advice to a new rider. He helped me pick the right upgrades and even offered trail advice for local parks and trails. Will most def be my home bike shop. Thanks guys!

I had the best experience at this store! I got a fit for my road bike, the first one that I actually feel like my bike fits me. He even took a video to show me how I ride before vs after. He also was kind, showed me respect and fixed my handlebar tape going above and beyond. Thank you so much, I will be back!

Playtri Fort Worth is an amazing bicycle store! Its one of my favorite athletic stores to visit when I need assistance with mechanical repairs on the bicycle, need to purchase a bike, rent a bike or wet suit for a triathlon, and even buy shoes. Last Saturday, I purchased a set of AR41 Reynolds wheels. David D. took my bike, put on the new wheels, fixed up a handlebar shifter that had gotten loose, added the new brake pads that came with the wheels all while I waited, and he did this in a timely manner. Jason, the owner, does a fantastic job of operating the bike shop and instilling in his employees the value of customer service. Each person that walked through the door received a friendly welcome from an employee and were offered assistance at finding a bike, shoes, or any other item of need. They dont try to pressure you into buying anything that you dont need either. I have gotten to know Jason and several of the employees over the last few years since I have visited their shop on many occasions, and they are all quite friendly. Everybody always seems kind and helpful. I am glad that Playtri Fort Worth is available to meet my athletic needs.

Walked in on my way home from work. Was casually greeted with a cold shoulder from an older man. Maybe because I asked him if he had any $300 bikes. Immediately standoffish. Another nice guy I think his name was Dan gave me lots of good info. He is not getting shifts and doesn’t know when he will return to work. If he was going to close my sale, I was ready to get the $1200 bike. I’ll spend my money somewhere else.

This place is terrible! I went there and spoke with an employee named David. I asked him about a black cannondale mountain bicycle on display at the front of the store. When I asked about specs he couldn’t provide any. I then spoke with the owner Jason and asked him about repairs on my cannonde and advised he would call me back. He never called me back like he said he would. I called back and asked to speak with Jason again, David answered and put me on hold and no one ever answered. I called back again and still no help. I have tried to support this black owned business and yet no help and no answers. I love cannon dale bicycles and this place has horrindous customer service and no follow through. Why am I being treated to terrible.

Awful customer service, i bought some shoes from a guy named David and he was plain rude. He seemed like he hated his job or hes just in the wrong profession, he didnt say hi when i came in and did not attend me until i came to the counter, he was rude the whole time and seemed like he was half asleep. The shop is very nice and clean, products are top of the line and decent prices, just need better employees that can actually attend well. After i bought the shoes he just left them on the counter and didnt say thank you or bag them. I was like is that it? Im good to go? And he said yup. Never buying here again. I can tell this is a independently owned store and they cant afford to lose customers, so please get more attentive employees.

Jason has always gone above and beyond for me and many others. He is such a good dude, and his wife Jameka is such a fun person to be around. They exemplify what store owners personalities should be like. There’s a lot of options to choose from, and if they don’t have something in stock they have suppliers or another PlayTri store that can get it within a day or 2. My Reynolds wheels I ordered were in stock in 2 days. My KMC DLC chain, next day, and my Hoka running shoes they had in stock just wrong color, buy the Colleyville store had them so I went over there and picked them up. Also, I’ve brought both my tri and road bike in for some upgrades, and the mechanic at the time lost my rear light on the road bike. Jason stepped up, and said “any light for same price just let me know and we’ll cover it for you.” Definitely shop PlayTri. No, I’m not paid by or work for them. Just a happy customer. Keep it up y’all!

I understand most bike shops and bike riders (group rides) are rude as it is, but this is a retail shop and need better customer service. I had every intent to buy on Friday until these two guys ruined me ever returning to this store... didn’t welcome me to shop, looked at me continued to do what they were until i walked Up to counter and younger guy says what’s up man.. as to imply I’m an inconvenience to him for being there... I’m a pretty patient person since i also Work in customer service but man was this bad... and disappointing

Some friends of mine had been bragging about their Hoka running shoes and mentioned Playtri and the fantastic service. I’ve shopped running shoes all over the place, never have I experienced great service, with a plethora of knowledge and experience about shoes and the foot general. I stopped in at noon on Sunday at the North Tarrant Pkwy location. Susan who helped me, knew more about shoes, the parts of shoes, difference between brands, shoe fit and the runner’s foot than anyone who’s not a Dr should. Susan told me what she liked about each shoe. She wasn’t trying to sell me a specific brand, just explaining to a novice the better points of each shoe and how it worked for how you ran or walked. It was obvious that she has spent a good deal of time in each, she could tell me the distinct different experience with each brand and what would work best for my gait, arch and preference. I ended up running out with a pair Brooks, the Hoka’s had too much of an arch for me. Phenomenal service, amazing experience. If you are in the market for running shoes and want an honest opinion in shoe selection, this is the place!! Thanks Susan

Needed the back derailed of my kids bike to be fixed. My husband started fixing it on his own, but then I called and talked to Brian the mechanic and he told me he could do it and the cost was totally worth it. When I told my husband the price, he picked the bike up, put it in the car and took it to the shop. Then 45 minutes later my husband came home WITH the bike, Brian had fixed it while my husband was there! Usually I have to wait a couple days at other bike shops. Earned our repeat business!

I walked into PlayTri Ft Worth-Alliance wanting to become a triathlete. After helping me find a suit on the first visit, new bike pedals and shoes on the next, and ultimately a budget-friendly carbon fiber racing bike, I regularly podium in my age group. The owners treat every client with care and concern and really understand the balance between where you are, where you want to go, and (reality) your budget. Love the PlayTri Ft Worth-Aliiance team and wouldn’t be where I am without them.

I do not recommend this store. I went in looking for a bicycle for someone else and found a potential used bike. The bike was a nice brand, but:it was used and probably about 4 years old and $80 overpriced, the bearings were cup and ball, not modern sealed bearings, and it was quick release only even though it was a hardtail mountain bike. So, I had some questions to put my mind at ease:Is there any room to move on the price? Answer: NoIs there a return period? Answer: No, its not a brand we carryCan I put sealed bearings in the hubs? Answer: Well have to call the manufacturer and our parts supplier to find out. Check back with us tomorrow.I checked back the next day. They said, Kogel, the only brand of bearings they carry, didnt know if they had any that would fit, the Felt website doesnt say what size they are, and the only way they can find out is to disassemble the hub. They never called Felt, if they had, Felt would have told them the information I needed to know. They also said, pay $35 to to have us rebuild the hub and we can tell you. They did not want to take the 10 minutes they would have needed to open one side of the hub and take measurements. They also reiterated, its not a brand we carry.Morale of the story, you might as well save money and buy from Craigslist, a factory direct bike sale website, or another bicycle shop off in the local area that actually tries to answer your questions regardless of if its a manufacturer they carry. BTW Playtri, you do carry it because you are selling it.They lost a customer, the other bike shop in the area also charges less for service and is better informed, they will continue to have my business. If a bicycle shop expects to stay in business in the modern tech age, they need to be able to provide something that a 20 second Google Search doesnt.EDIT - The response below from the owner appears untruthful. Bicycle Blue Book is what I used to see that the bike I was interested in had a MAX value approximately $80 below what they were charging. Another bike shop in the area charges $30 for FULL hub rebuilds, not just going in and measuring one bearing, which this shop wanted $35 for. BUYER BEWARE.

Just overall not impressed with Communication & Customer Service. Luke (son- as shown in a previous review) did crash his bike and destroyed the derailleur. We replaced the derailleur, but the mounting bracket was bent and I didnt know how to adjust the cable for the gears. So we took it up to Playtri and we werent as lucky as Vaughn Fressia Eames. We took it up on Sunday and found out the technician was out on vacation. (It would have been nice to have known that earlier when I called) I did get a call back on Tuesday (closed Monday) from a tech with not the best customer service skills. We needed a new derailleur. I informed him that we just installed a new derailleur and was confused about most of what he said. I clarified the total cost of repair and I was told $8-$10 for parts and $15 for install. I asked if the $15 inspection was on top of that cost or if it was applied to the repair. I was told it was separate and I confirmed that my total cost would be $45 and he confirmed, yes.I called back on Friday and spoke to someone new and the guy on the phone was talking to me at a female worker at the same time. This did *not* help the communication issues. He later just handed to phone to her and we spoke. The conversation went better, but ended up back to confused. I explained the crash..derailleur got replaced..mount still bent.. and she seemed to get it until her last comment. I was told that it was apparent that my son crashed his bike and his derailleur is bent and needs to be replaced. She told me that the tech was on vacation and he would call me back. (yes. vacation again). I asked about pricing and I was told that the inspection *would* be applied to the repair (which is different than what the first tech told me, but he did not sound confident in his answer so that’s why I asked a 2nd person) Luke heard the entire conversation (speaker in the car) and he said “wow. That went well.” I told him that the first call went just as well as that one.I got a call 10-15 minutes later (Brian, I think). MUCH better phones skills than the previous 3 people I spoke to. He at least understood AND acknowledged that the derailleur was new, but told me it was also bent. Confused, but I accept his answer because he at least acknowledged that it was a new derailleur. 15-20 minutes later he said he bent the mounting post and derailleur back to functional. I can accept that.My son, Luke, and I picked it up the following day. A female at checkout said,Her: ok. so we put a new derailleur on for you?.Me: No...do you didnt .Her: It says here that we special ordered one for youMe: No. I was told that he just bent the derailleur & mount back into place. Her: “Oh. Let me delete this part then.”My total was only $16+/- which I appreciate. My son wanted to get on the bike and check the gears and they worked, but he said “I have no brakes”. We checked it out before loading it in the car and one of the rear brake pads was loose and not making contact with the rim. The tire looked a bit flat as well, but I told him we’d take care of it at home because I just wanted to be done with them and he completely agreed. He had special tire caps on his bike and one was missing. I asked him if he had two special caps on or just one. He said he had two and I told him that now he just has one. “Now that makes me mad”, he said. I’m not sure what all is included in a 21 point inspection, but they missed a flat tire & rear brake not working. The stem was fairly loose as well, but that was also an easy fix.My son is 13 and I was using this as a lesson learned. You broke it, you call and find a shop, you make the calls and figure it out yourself. I’m so glad I had stepped in so he didn’t have to go through that. It’s just a cheap Wal-Mart Mongoose that was given to him in exchange for labor, but that’s not the point. Communication & Customer service was less than awesome.Update:* I would disagree with the All of this was communicated.* My total was only $16+/- which I appreciate

The staff at this shop are top notch. I went in as a person with beginning interest in Tri. So the only knowledge I have is what I’ve seen and read, nothing specific. I went in with my family and was greeted by an enthusiast gentleman named Tod. After explaining my reason for coming in, he filled me in with tons of knowledge about the sport, differences in bikes and equipment and shared the process of how they do fittings and help narrow the process of selecting the right bike for me. Along the way, he asked how much free time I had because he had so much information to share. When I was done with my educational experience, I started looking for my wife and child that had disappeared while I was soaking up information like a sponge. I walked outside to find the owners wife Jameka guiding my son along on a bike in a less than busy and safe area of the parking lot. My son hadn’t grasp the whole riding a bike idea leading up to this experience. The bike she fit him on was quite a bit more expensive than I wanted to pay before he learned to ride. (Do not be confused, the shop did not have the bike overpriced) After seeing the quality of the bike and how my son’s interest level changed based on the customer service Jameka showed, I decided to get the bike for him. Think about it, when is the last time someone at a store took time to give you over the top service by doing something they didn’t have to do? The idea of that level of customer service has been lost in today’s age. So much so that it really stood out in Playtri Alliance. Not to mention, Jameka had this radiant smile on her face the whole time she was helping my son. She assured us that after about 3 good days of trying he would know how to ride. So over Memorial Day we put her theory to the test. She was right...he now knows how to ride!!! 😁 The employees, from the owners on down, love what they are doing and have a true passion for bikes. This is not a high pressure sales shop. They give you the information you crave, no more, no less and let you decide. If you are an impulse buyer, they will sell it to you. But that’s NOT the way they have designed their business at this shop!! I can’t recommend this place enough to people interested in cycling, biking or Tri.
