In all my years in business I have rarely worked with someone as capable, communicative and organized as Paul at Capitol Lighting. Being a NYC designer I was referred to Capitol and he has made a very large and complicated project very workable. He has gone over and above the call of duty to help with choices, handle special designs, and keep it all organized. He has impeccable taste, a great manner, and is all around just wonderful. I can not recommend him and the store more highly.

We walked into Capitol Lighting 1/2 hour before closing on a Sunday and met with Wayne Lew. He was a perfect host! We had a look around and quickly found three perfect pieces for our bedroom. I would recommend Wayne and Capitol Lighting as your home lighting destination!

The staff were attentive and helpful. The transaction was quick and easy. I got a great deal on a floor lamp that was the last one (from the floor). No complaints whatsoever! The lamps and light fixtures in there are certainly on the more expensive side but I think they had a nice selection for most budgets.

Great lighting choices. Floor samples are beautiful, but a bit pricey. Best advice is to have them guide you through their online site. They’ll be more than happy to be your guide. Purchased a dining room light and recently, a set of bathroom vanity lights.

This place has a lot of nice lighting options to complete your home. The options are much better than your Lowes, Home Depot, etc. We havent purchased anything yet, but plan to return and definitely buy in the near future. I will update this review when we do.

Bought a new construction house in January and 2 of the outdoor lanterns have already stopped working. I contacted the developer who said he had to reach out to Capitol Lighting to see what we can do. Having purchased from that store before, I just went over there on my own with photos of the fixtures that were not working. I was referred to Robert Williamson and he WAS AWESOME! He located the fixtures online and looked up the warranty. Then he called the manufacturer and ordered me two LED disc light parts to fix my problem. These parts were under warranty and cost me nothing. Everybody told me to just go online and buy the replacement parts, but I was not sure who made the fixtures so I did not know where to start. This experience is EXACTLY why people should go to their local retailer and not order online! Great customer service from a knowledgeable and helpful employee!

Wayne Lew was excellent to work with. The store had various types of lighting in house and the process for ordering through the catalog was good. We received our lamps when promised and were to our liking.

I was greeted by Jody, and given a cup of coffee. She spent a lot of time showing me different styles of the type of fixture that I was looking for. We fine tuned it, and it should be arriving on Friday. She also followed up on the shipping for me. Its a five for me!!

I received wonderful customer service and it was a pleasure to do business with Capital Lighting. Richard helped me to obtain the very best prices on everything and even helped me find a better price on a special hand-made pendant light that I had found on-line, and ended up purchasing from Capital Lighting. I also received design assistance with my installation. I will return to Capital Lighting, and especially Richard for any future lighting needs.

Richard was great. He did not have what I wanted in stock so he had it shipped from another store and I received it the next day. I would purchase my lighting here again. This was a replacement of a light I bought from Home Depot 3 months ago for my bathroom and it had rusted.

Not a pleasant experience. Except for Allen, staff very unfriendly, my light was in stock and every time i called to see where it was I would get the run around. Leave messages no one calls you back. My husband and I went into Capitol Lighting with the idea we wouldn’t be successful in finding the chandelier we wanted. Every fixture we liked had straight down rods and because we have 22ft ceilings, we were told we needed to find a fixture that had a chain. Richard, at Capitol Lighting went the extra mile! We showed him the fixture we fell in love with at another lighting store. He called the company and found out that they would custom make additional down rods for the fixture. (Mind you, the other lighting store called me and told me that it couldn’t be done after they spoke to the manufacturer.)Needless to say, we ordered our chandelier and are currently waiting for it.Thank you Richard!

Had a very successful visit to the showroom, salesperson very helpful. most importantly, they were helpful with the documentation we needed to export the fixtures that we purchased (which is often difficult with large companies - they love to make the sale but drop you when you need proper invoicing for shipping).

Ordered four outdoor lights for the house. They were supposed to be delivered but then was called and told come get them- so ok- I went 25 miles to pick it up. I call electrician to come, two of the lights are broken. So I go back, give them the lights, they say they will ship them to me then I call because nothing arrived and then the salesperson (Cooper) tells me its my job to research it with UPS because they did their part. Ok so I simply pull up the tracking number and see they didnt even ship it to me- they shipped it to Boca. How that is my problem I have no clue but still.So finally fast forward the two lights finally arrive, the electrician comes and one lamp is missing half the parts. Then I call Cooper and tell him and he starts laughing at what Im not sure because I sure as heck wasnt laughing. Im now having to pay three visits for an electrician to come install four lights- that are high up.Then Cooper says he will himself come and install that hes never done it but its not rocket science and anyone can do it. To which I said, no I rather have a professional do it if you havent done it plus you need a ladder in order to be able to reach.Then the day that this was supposed to take place he tells me he cant come and he will schedule it with service and let it be known I chose that path and that its not rocket science to install a light but by choosing this way I had to now wait until who knows when for the installation.Not what I expected from Capitol Lighting from my past experiences with them and wont be shopping from them again.

I have to rate this store one star because of a deceptive sales person. I shopped for a Kuzco matt black LED light fixture online. I wanted to see its brightness, finish, and build quality before buying. So I went to the manufacturer website to find local retailers. I called several nearby only to learn there was nobody with it in their showroom. Everyone was more than willing to order it for me and I was ready to buy it but not without seeing it. When I called this Capitol Lighting store, the sales person told me outright they had the fixture on display in their showroom. So I got the sales persons name and made a one hour drive from south Miami to see it, ready to buy four of them if they checked out.When I arrived, the sales person didnt want to show it to me until they entered all my information into the computer and then they asked me if I wanted to order it. I told them I came to see it and then... she began her sales pitch about how it was such a great product that several of her clients buy over and over. Finally she walked me over to a wall display with a chrome fixture from the same manufacturer; not the same fixture or finish. I had no idea how bright the fixture I wanted to buy was and no idea about the finish. Then she went for the close and asked me how many she should order for me.I was obviously not happy driving over an hour to see something that wasnt in the showroom. There is no way I would ever reward such deception with a sale. Not ever at that store.So, in summary, nice showroom but unethical salesperson ruined the day. Looks like Ill end up ordering from Amazon and return it if the quality doesnt meet my expectations. So disappointed 😞.
